Good food all around. Burgers are tasty, fries are good. Staff friendly. Always full of people. Watch out for floor towards back very slippery, seen several people almost fall. Place is very small so expect a long wait.

Driving across the US (Pacific to Atlantic Coast). Stopped at this place from recommendations from two staff @America Inn. Burgers are the best you can get at any top Notch eatery! Great variety of options available. I had the Juicy Lucy cooked perfectly! Chicken Wings perfectly flavored and crunchy (a combination of texture and taste often not found from many wing establishments). Our server Julia showed promising customer service skills. She checked on our table with keen awareness and attention. Smiled, polite, interactive; all the qualities anyone would wish from a server. Kudos Julia! You are much of the reason many will keep coming back! That and the great food make this place an easy 5 star plus!

It was fine. I'd goback when in the mood for greasy fried food or a good burger. Not the best burger in town, but probably third best.

It was a college crowd at the bar when we were there including four off-duty employees who occupied most of the bartender's time. Drinks were good, but service could be improved. The employees came across as unprofessional in their duties as well as their interactions with their friends/off duty employees at the bar.

We had wings and chili cheese fries. Not a heart friendly meal for sure.chili cheese fries were good, the chili was very rich and flavorful, almost to much so. The wings were cooked perfectly, it was the sauce the key them down really. We got Jamaican jerk and spicy garlic. The jerk was a rub... Should have known better, just not much flavor... The spicy garlic was okay, but it just didn't taste like much. It was a lot of food and I was over full when we left but if I was back in Laramie I would try some place else. Gabe had a 1/4 lb kids burger with fries. Looked like an adult meal. He said it was really good.

Cool spot with an awesome name, but needs some refinement. The burger list is extensive and there are some unique items there. My buddy's first choice, the mac n cheese burger, was not available. His second choice, the breakfast burger, was made with chorizo and a couple other non-standard meats. Sounded cool, but it came out severely undercooked. In his half-starved state he chomped right in and downed it. Luckily for him, I had a bite too, so together we shared in the agonizing pain of all-night stomach cramps, limited sleep, and other unspeakables. The floor by the bathroom was so slippery that anyone other than a semi-pro hockey player was in severe danger of wiping out hard... Major liability. My beer order came out incorrect, but the bartender kindly comped it. Rough day at the Barn. I'd probably go back for beers next time I'm in Laramie, provided that my short term memory kicks in and I forget about the regrettable food experience.

Went here today for the first time since moving here in August. A solid place. Colleague and I split the fries (shoestring kind with good sauce) and fried pickles (prepared as spears with a good balance of seasoning and coating - I usually don't like fried pickles). Had a burger/wings combo. It's a $1.00 upcharge for bone-out wings so actually $15.00 for the burger, four boneless wings, and a side. At first I was disappointed only four wings came in the combo, but it's a good amount when you figure in the hamburger and a side (would get fries if just myself with no appetizer, had mac & cheese today and it was good - the light, paler kind of mac and cheese not hardened with dried cheese that I hate). Drinks come in small mason jars and our server always kept them filled without us even asking. The burger was good. Not one of those large burgers that skimps on taste with its size. I can see why people on here complain if you're expected a whopper sized burger. But when you take into consideration the ingredients on these burgers, it's much much better than some chain restaurant "mother burger" or whatever (FWIW, I had the Levi burger: bacon, smoked gouda, jalapaneos, green chilis, and maple bacon BBQ). The decor is fun - if antique road signs and TV screens aren't your thing, sorry - it's about as postmodern as Laramie gets. The wings I have to say are great - apparently a BWW is being built, which I hope won't hurt Born in a Barn because the boneless wings here were great, a bit smaller than the kind you get at Applebees or BWW, but better sauces and they didn't taste microwaved. Going to reheat my leftovers now. PS - it's the only place I've found in town that does a fried chicken dinner. Other places do chicken tenders, or chicken fried steak, and 17th St does a chicken & waffle , but it baffles me no place here does fried chicken. is that only a midwest/southern thing? Is poultry that hard to come by out here in the west? Let me know if I'm wrong about this in Laramie.

Delicious! Fun atmosphere, fun staff, delicious food.. What more could you ask for? I always order the wings because nobody in Laramie does wings this well.. any flavor you pick is going to be delicious.

I've been to this place multiple times since it's opened and there's always an issue when I go. Particularly last night I went with my friends and we waited for almost two hours to get 12 wings and an order of fries. The wings were boneless and were more breading than actual chicken meat. The fries were half burned and the queso we ordered with them was nice cold. The queso tasted like mustard and nacho cheese sauce = gross. The only redeemable part of the experience was the waitress apologizing for the wait and giving us a 10% discount. Also they don't have any beer on draft, so only bottles and cans. If you're looking to get a pitcher, better go somewhere else.

Long wait but it was a Friday over graduation weekend on a college town so can't help it! Once we were seated our food came pretty quickly and was great! We had the garlic asiago wings which were crispy and delicious! Also shared a couple burgers (the Popper, Smoochie and one with grilled mushrooms & onions) and they were all unique and yummy!!!

Wow time changes so much and in the case of Born in a Barn they really improved. They now offer a great deal of a burger and wings for like $14. Major improvement since my first review.

Food...meh. It's always a 50/50 chance if it's going to be good! But tonight our server Haley was really really good!!

A Great Improvement: When this place first opened, quality and consistency was questionable and often lacking. This does not seem to be the case any more. I have been attending the restaurant and bar more and more often, starting with the requests from friends and leading into a destination to which I enjoy going. The Wings: In my opinion, the wings are excellent. Expensive for wings? Absolutely. A step up from any other in the the area? Without question. In fact, I would go so far as to say that their wings are some of the best and more creative I've had anywhere, let alone just in Laramie. Back when BiaB first opened, I would not pay for their wings, they were not good enough to warrant the price. Nowadays I have changed my mind. They seem to have really gotten everything down a bit better and I very much enjoy, nay, LOVE most of the wings on their menu. While I normally opt for a burger when I am particularly hungry (because you end up getting more food for your money), if I am in a wing mood, there is no other place I to which I wish to go. The Burgers: As I said previously, if you are quite hungry, the burgers are the way to if you wish not to spend much. For around $8 you get a large burger with a basket-full of hand cut fries (I normally go for the sweet potato variety). I have never finished a burger and fries at this establishment feeling ripped off or hungering for more. (And that's saying something, I have quite the capacity). As a side-note, they often come out with seasonal or monthly specials, OCtober's was a "Zombie Burger" that came with fried macaroni and cheese on it and I couldn't actually finish it! This month they have "The Popper" which comes with cream cheese, pepper jelly, and fried jalapeños, and it is absolutely fantastic. The Service: I have yet to have service issue since the opening month or two of this joint. I will admit that in the beginning it was a bit rough, the staff rarely knew what beers were available and the consistency of service was.. lacking at the least. This is no longer the case, as with the food quality, service has vastly improved and is perfectly enjoyable at every visit. The Bar (For Those Interested): The bar hosts a few scotches, every variety of vodka in which one might wish to indulge and a sizable selection of whiskies. It still pains me a hair that they lack draft beers, but regardless, their happy hour still hosts $2.00 domestics and $1.50-$2.00 well drinks (with which I am perfectly content). The bartenders here might not know off hand how to make they fanciest cocktails, there are better places for that in this town. If bottled beer and a fun atmosphere (normally full of collegiates) without the hype of some of the larger bars in town, this is a nice place to spend some time. Overall: All-in-all, as I said, this establishment has improved tremendously since its conception. If I were writing this review then it would receive not 5 stars but 2 or perhaps 3. This is the change that has occurred here. Keep in mind that this is a joint for bar food, burgers and wings, yet with a twist. You will spend a bit more on wings than you might want to, but in my experience it is always worth it. The burgers are a fine choice for the person who'd rather spend $8 on their meal and be quite full! I have yet to be disappointed in the last year or so here, and will continue to go likely once a week for dinner!

AWESOME! I can't believe this place had such reviews from other people! There were LOTS of positives about this place, but we went in specifically looking for chicken wings. My boyfriend and I have a thing where we are trying to eat wings in every state in the US, so I consider myself a fairly good judge on places for wings. First thing was that the place was fairly busy when we got in for lunch on a Wednesday, which is usually a good sign. Instead of waiting for a table we opted to sit at the bar and it was great because one of the owners was bartending. They have had the place for like 16 months now, he said, and you could tell the guy took pride in his business. When we told him we like trying wings, he bragged up the smoked wings they have that he smokes every morning. We tried a couple of the smoked flavors (bone-in): Sparky's and Carolina BBQ - both were delicious, but the Sparky's was really, really good. For regular wings (non-smoked, but still bone-in) we tried pineapple siracha and spicy BBQ. Both were very good and lots of flavor without being too spicy to eat. We also tried the chili cheese fries and I thought the chili looked a little greasy, but it was perfect - great flavor there too. Honestly, there wasn't anything we disliked about this place and it is now our favorite wing place out of anything we have tried in the US so far and we have been to other good places. On top of the awesome bartender/owner and food, the kitchen staff topped the ambiance of the place: they sing in the kitchen while they are working (to the same music you hear in the bar area) and those guys ROCKED! You could tell they were back there having a good time and happy cooks equal quality food. This place is a must-stop if you are in Laramie! Next time we are in we would definitely want to try a Moscow Mule at the bar. The owner said he uses a cherry ginger beer which I haven't had elsewhere, but it sounds excellent.

The rumor mill was buzzing about a new restaurant in downtown Laramie. Several family and friends all expressed their eagerness to try out this new place, so - naturally we made it our Friday night destination. The anticipation was building and upon finally arriving at corner of 1st and Ivinson, it would appear that our thoughts were on par with the rest of the Laramie community. Downtown Laramie tends to be busy Friday and Saturday nights, but this joint was particularly popular! We congregate at the door and immediately we're packed into a tiny entrance to stand in front of a congenial host who indicated that, at that time, the current wait was one hour. Clearly, our interest in this place had been mirrored by the masses and we thought that it must be something worth waiting for. We gave our names and decided to walk around downtown Laramie and just take a look around and possibly scope out other alternatives. We came across a couple new places we've never seen before such as the Extreme Burger Bar and Parachute, but our appetites we fixed upon that small corner pub that had been generating all the preceding excitement. After a while, we go back and figure we wait the final few minutes of that hour in their bar area, which was already packed, but we were all in the mood for a drink at that point. You could almost taste the heavy saturation of grease and oils in the kitchen, which appeared to be a tiny closet nestled in between the bar and the main dining area. We found this to be interesting, at least in the sense that we didn't realize how small this place was until that point. Suddenly it made sense as to why there was such a long wait for a table. Eventually, after checking in with the hostess a couple times, and after waiting for an additional half an hour (total waiting time was approximately 1.5 hours), we were guided to a table next to their south facing window. We sat down and I observed a collection of collegiates, couples and small families. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits and so were we as we anxiously awaited our opportunity to try their exotic and unique wing flavors and burgers! After a few minutes, the waitress took our orders and proceeded to deliver our ticket to the kitchen window. As I mentioned earlier, this place was extremely busy so we had to do our best in managing our expectations, but it was after we gave our orders that we started to really become disappointed. Our waitress did not come back to our table for 20 minutes! We still needed the drinks we ordered. We flagged down another waitress and she was helpful enough to have the bartender bring us what we ordered 25 minutes earlier. We saw our waitress struggling with a large party that apparently wanted to split their bill 10 ways, which tied her up at the register for a while. It came to be 45 minutes after we ordered our food and we were getting a little frustrated at the lack of service. We could hardly believe that bar food took nearly an hour to prepare. Even at other busy pubs in our experience we would expect a server to come over and apologize and attempt to be of some service while we waited, but we were largely ignored. After an hour of ordering we finally get 3 of the 4 entrees. We all sat there puzzled as to how they forgot the 4th entree. It's pretty awkward to have 3 of us eat as the one left out had to wait and watch. Since our waitress had quickly abandoned our table after delivering the food, we had to waive down another waitress and explain the situation. She apologized and said she would have that burger brought out in a few minutes. I had to also mention to her that my wings were room temperature and rubbery, as if they were cooked an hour ago. She grabbed my basket of wings and proceeded to inform the kitchen. 5 minutes later, we all had our food and were ravenously hungry. Needless to say, we tore into the food. My wings were quite good, but at $9 for 8 bone-in wings there are many better options to choose for the money. As for the burgers, my companions all reviewed them to be very good as well. So, when the food finally came out (fresh) we were satisfied with the flavors and novelty of the differentiating pub fare. We finished and paid the check (on one bill - for the server's convenience). I'm not sure what they got tipped, but I have some tips for this place if they plan on being successful in their new venture. The front of the house needs to set up accurate wait times for potential customers. The cooks need to time the delivery of the food being served appropriately; food should never be served cold. Moreover, the orders need to served simultaneously. The serving staff need leadership and someone who's sole job is to attend to the service being delivered (at least on busy nights). This would minimize the chance others would get the same poor experience we had.

Let's just say that it is disheartening when you enter an establishment that states that you need to wait to be seated and you are unsure whether the "hostess" is going to dismount her bar stool. So that was the beginning. the service sucked. Had to ask for utensils, fry sauce, and the second side that was supposed to be included in a very expensive wing platter. The wings came drowned in sauce and then heavily topped with cheese. The celery and carrots had been shaved into miniature something so that it looked good was impracticable as they were also drowned in the sauce. The bratwurst was straight from a package probably labeled Johnsonville so you could do that at home and it would not have been as expensive and tasteless as here. You can find much better quality and service somewhere else...this will be the last time.

Stopped in early April for a birthday celebration, just missed the rush and we're pleased with service. Out of five diners we ended up with 5 wing styles and one burger and a round (or two) of brews. No complaints on any end! The P.B. and Jelly wings took us by pleasant surprise and one of the spicy/buffalo wing variations (can't remember exactly) definitely hit the spot! Looking forward to them getting on their feet, getting all the kinks worked out and definitely excited for taps to get put in!

A good wing place in Laramie- is that too much to ask for? Born in a Barn gets pretty close, but not close enough for my taste. I'll give this place another shot. Eventually. Bar and table seating, seems like a good casual place to take a small group. Burgers and wings are the highlights of the menu. Burgers seemed reasonably priced ($7-9). I thought wings were kind of expensive. No specials (happy hour wing deals?! Come on!), and I think the prices were in the ballpark of $9 for 8 and $14 for 16? There are lots of seasoning and dipping sauce options, all of which sounded really good. We ended up getting 16 'Sweet and Smokey' wings. Service was guick, we got our order in about 5 minutes. The wings were kind of dry and all dipping sauces are $0.50 extra. Hmmm... Frankly I'd sacrifice the marginally better quality for quantity at a place like Chile's that has happy hour wing deals. It hurts me a little to say that, but its true... Side not, I think the grill ventilation system was down today, it was really (grill/food) smokey through the whole restaurant. Let's hope that was temporary because I still smell like burnt french fries.

As far as burgers go, I'd take it over fast food any day, but it won't be my first thought or destination. Once you get past the oddly designed front bar (there really isn't a whole heck of a lotta space up there), the place opens up. I like the idea of the patio area, but we were inside on this trip. There was a TV located near our table, but it wasn't turned on. So, I have no idea if it was broken or just off. In our continued tour of Laramie eateries, we found ourselves at BiaB on a Friday evening. Now, normally, I'm all about some wangs, but I just wasn't feeling it. So, I opted for a burger. In fact, I opted for the Blue Burger. I'm still wondering where the "blue" in that comes from (strike 1). The fries are handcut and fried. They weren't bad, but not spectacular, either. As for the beer...well, there looked to be a decent selection, but if you're looking for a list, better hope your waitress has it written on the back of her order pad. Otherwise, there isn't one. I snagged an Odell Easy Street, not knowing if I was getting bottle or draught, and was a little surprised to be handed just the bottle and no glass. I could care less if it's a chilled glass, but one does not serve an unfiltered wheat beer in a bottle (strike 2). The prices aren't awful. I'm curious about the person with a $50 lunch tab. Mayhaps they ordered a side of gold for dipping their wings? We had two burgers and two beers. Before tip, the bill was $27. In any case, the next time I'm in the mood for wings, we'll give BiaB another whirl. Until then, I'll hit up somewhere else for a better burger.

Best burger and wings in Laramie!!

Wow, three things stand out: 1. great hamburgers and wings, especially the burgers...best in Laramie! 2. The atmosphere reminded me of the bars/restaurants in small town midwest. I'm from a small ranch town in NE and they nailed it! 3. Service was friendly available...we never wanted or waited for anything (beer). HIghly recommend.

Good burgers! But I expected more out of the wings. I was excited that Laramie had a new establishment that offered a variety of wings but ever since I've started going I've become disappointed by lack of quality food. If you're going to this establishment get the bone in because boneless cost more and taste worse, or you could play it safe and try one of their burgers.

We were seated fairly quickly; however, it took a considerable amount of time to receive our meals. Overall, it was ok. Nothing great. The burgers were a nice size, but they all came out well done despite our requests for medium rare. I asked the waitress a lot of questions about their 'gluten free' choices and was reassured that the onion rings were gluten free and were prepared in a separate fryer from their 'wheat breaded' items. As I have been ill all afternoon, I am beginning to suspect that may not be the case. It's a shame, really. I wanted to like BiaB, but I just can't bring myself to. Not my style. Maybe the wings are better? Scared to get sick again from trying the place though...

I have been twice since the restaurant opened. First time was terrible, but I forgive a first time for a new restaurant. They are still working out the kinks. With this second visit, I should stress that I do plan to write to help them get better at what they want to do. DISCLAIMER - I only had the courage to complain about the onion rings. I will do better next time. The Good: The restaurant feels open. I went to the previous establishment and it was hard to move around. The re-organized dining area feels welcoming. They have done wonders with the aged wood that goes from the floors to half way up the walls. The booths are well designed and comfortable. The service was well executed, especially when dealing with a complaint. Our waitress was on the ball when it came to refills and making sure we were happy with the food. The Bad: The lighting is too dim. If this was intended to bring romance, it falls short. I want to be able to enjoy my food without wincing. I am here to relax, not strain. While you do not want to be using florescent bulbs to burn peoples eyes, a slightly brighter bulb would improve the atmosphere. The burger I had was suppose to have horse radish and Parmesan cheese, but I could not taste either. It was just bland. And the burger temp was mid-well, but I ordered medium. The burger meat was just bland as well. There seamed to be no seasonings in the meat itself. The Ugly: I ordered onion rings with my burger. They came out cold and bland. So I sent them back. First time I sent anything back, but I'm trying to follow Ramsay's advice and complain more so that kitchens can get better. The waitress did a great job and brought me a new serving. This was piping hot, but still bland. The batter was not sweet, not salty, no seasonings what so ever. It was just bland. I didn't have the courage to send them back a second time. As I said before, I will do better the next time I go to any restaurant. In closing, I will be giving Born in a Barn another go. They deserve that much since I did not complain enough. I'm not trying to be a hard ass, but I want to see restaurants that do better. One final note - the drinks come in mason jars. A neat idea and it works well, but the jars that are used are too big. They should use smaller ones so as to encourage less drinking and more eating.

I get cravings for Born in a Barn's wings on a weekly basis, and I've never cared for wings before. Try this place out if you like a great burger, too. The decor is cute and rustic. I love drinking out of a mason jar or taking shots from a tiny cowboy boot. Definitely do the 12 wings and 2 sides for 15 bucks option to save money, and for heaven's sake order the peanut butter and jelly wings.
