We were there in the offseason, had a reservation but probably didn't need one in April. We were staying at the Rusty Parrot (which is also great!). Experience and Wild Sage was amazing, The wine list was great, our server made excellent recommendations, and everything we tried was delicious. The scallop and pork belly appetizer was divine, and for dinner I had the lamb shank, which literally fell off the bone. My husband tried the bison ribeye which was surprisingly awesome--not game-y tasting at all and came with a great sauce. Definitely pricey, this is a special occasion type of place, but worth every penny!

The Wild Sage might be one of Jackson's best kept secrets. The menu is fresh and interesting, the staff knowledgeable and attentive. We started with a delicious wild mushroom risotto--made with local wild morels--and crab cakes that were sublime. My husband had the Wagyu strip and I had a sublime bone in elk steak. We finished with the dessert our server recommended: donut bread pudding. Mmmm. Our waiter was able to recommend a great bottle of California red that was the ideal pairing for our starters and entrees.

We had greatly anticipated our dinner at this restaurant. Let me start by saying that our server was incredibly professional, the food came out quickly and the ambience was delightful. The reason for 4 stars was that my shrimp bisque needed seasoning and my dessert (chocolate cake) was just WEIRD. The wine list definitely is lacking, though the manager seems to think it quite lofty. The steaks were delicious and my salmon was divine. We will definitely return.

Unpleasant dining area- feels like eating in a Lobby of a 1980's hotel. Jean Paul the server who said of course to everything enhanced the experience. Food was great.

Had a poor experience and my hotel, The Four Seasons, told me that it was one of the best restaurants in Jackson. I booked the restaurant and told them we had a birthday we were celebrating. We called in advance to have a nice table near the fireplace. They said they would seat us in a nice spot. When we arrived, Cody proceeded to seat us next to the host table and there was a great table in the front window that was available. I asked for it and he looked at an iPad and then said it was reserved for a house guest. This started the meal off poorly. I noticed about 45 mins later a couple came in from the main entrance, not the hotel lobby and the other waitress guided them to another table but then also pointed to that table that I had wanted and they chose to go there. I do not assume this was the "house guest" that Cody mentioned as why would she give them an option. The food was fair and then when it came to dessert, they forgot the birthday and did not bring anything. It was a really disappointing experience as I was hoping to celebrate a special occasion on this special weekend.

Celebrated my birthday here last month. Service was impeccable, food was exquisite, ambiance and noise perfect. Crabcake appetizer and elk loin were perfect. They seem to have resolved the service issue I had last time I dined here. While there are a large # of great restaurants in Jackson Hole to fill a week-long vacation, I highly recommend this place.

A boutique restaurant. Everybody here knows their job quite well. I recall the food being really great, good quality meat well cooked and the waiter didn't ask how I wanted my meat to be cooked, instead he suggested medium rare given that buffalo is pretty juicy. Unlike the Kitchen where I was asked first and then recommended, which makes the question pretty pointless! Great wine selection!

One of the best dining experiences of my life ... I would put this place up against every celebrity chef restaurant Las Vegas. 8 tables / 3 chefs and perfect service!! I will be back for sure!!! Chef personally came to our table and asked for our comments... He has fantastic skills and is humble and polite in spite of being a rock star!!!

I would say this is one of the best meals you will get in Jackson. Small romantic dining room with a welcoming roaring fire. Food is expertly prepared and everything was absolutely delicious. My lamb came with an eggplant lasagna which really should be place on the menu as an entree. I have been craving it all week. Excellent restaurant.

On the advice of a friend, we sought out this intimate dining room in the small and upscale Rusty Parrot Hotel, off the beaten path in Jackson, tucked in a quiet neighborhood by the Snake River. It was a great experience with an open kitchen part of the ambience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the wine list extensive with some great choices. The food was fabulous. We started with the Bibb lettuce salad, with asparagus shards, pistachios and bacon. Our entrees were baby back ribs and a Dijon mustard crusted Cod, both terrific and delicious. Wild Sage is pricey but not pretentious, delivering a first rate dining experience. We'll be back.

My husband and I first ate here 10 years ago and again last night, and I'm happy to report that The Wild Sage is as good as ever. Sumptuous food and an intimate quiet atmosphere make it one of our top restaurants world-wide, rivaling some places we've eaten in NY and elsewhere. Great service and attention to detail here. We had a roasted beet salad, romaine and artichoke salad, bison, and lamb shank, all prepared perfectly. If you're in Jackson and want to splurge, this is the place.

We dined here just a few days ago. Wow. Exceeded our expectations! There were so many things we wanted to taste that we were hard pressed to limit ourselves. Upon ordering onsies of several different dishes - our waiter suggested that we split most of our dishes and have them served in succession. Great idea! The portions are quite large so splitting made a lot of sense - getting a few bites of each dish. Upon our departure, I got the treat of learning how 'sous vide' preparation works. The chef allowed me to see it and ask a few questions...not something I will ever do at home... but after actually seeing it in action and understanding the dynamics - I can see how our meal benefitted. We also felt this additional opportunity to interact with the people that prepared our amazing feast simply topped off a terrfic dining experience. Finally - the location is outside the "tourist trap zone' so parking is a breeze. Cost - very reasonable! We ordered two apps, a soup, a salad and two entrees - we brought our own wine (corkage is $20) and we ordered two glasses of white to go with our apps. We were surprised to find the bill came to less than $100 per person. Certainly a splurge - but considering the quality and care given to the preparation - a big value.

Wild Sage is a great restaurant in downtown Jackson, WY. It has six tables with what seemed to be three waitstaff. So the ratio allowed for personal attention. It is a high end restaurant. The food is worldly, sophisticated and offers excellent opportunities to local and fresh and in season. I highly recommend the lobster bisque. Though I know this is typical of the restaurants in this area after having left WY, I never heard of this before I got here. If you order a liquor on the rocks there is an upcharge because they give you more alcohol. Unless you know about this you will be surprised when you see the bill. This restaurant isn't just a gem in Jackson, it can stand anywhere alone. Very happy with the food and the service. Will happily go back.

A friend had told us she had had the best meal of her life at Wild Sage. Thus the bar was set impossibly high when we visited this last Saturday night. While no one in our group had the best meal of their life, there was unanimous agreement that the food was exceptional. Wild Sage is located inside of the Rusty Parrot hotel. It's tiny, with only a handful of tables and a cozy, countryish feel, which seems almost at odds with the inventive, sophisticated dishes. Like your grandmother inviting you to dinner in her cottage and then serving you food straight out of Top Chef. The bison osso bucco, kaffir lime red curry bouillabaisse, and the creative beef dishes were all hits. The place is undoubtedly pricey, but for an outstandingly tasty, memorable meal, it was definitely worth the price.

We ate here for Christmas dinner. We were suprised it was a fixed price dinner with less options than usual. We should have been told when we made reservations. It was pretty pricey. However, we were NOT dissapointed in the food or service and eveyrone had a nice time. I'd try it a gain with the regular menu.

One of the best meals we had during our last visit to JH was a major disappointment this time around. The food was great. However our service was awful. There are only about six tables in this place, yet we had empty glasses and dirty plates in front of us the whole time. Our waiter gave me new utensils and didn't bother to provide my wife with some, even though it seemed that they cleaned silverware the entire night. At one point he placed my wife's next dish off to the side and didn't even bother to clear the dirty one in front of her. He seemed preoccupied the entire time and tried desperately to add an extra bottle of wine to the steep tab with heavy pours. He also brought out the wrong entree for me and tried to excuse it by saying that he was chatting with the chef. What an awful experience. For what you are going to be charged here you shouldn't have to wonder if the service was the worst you've ever had.

While we loved the Rusty Parrot Hotel and Spa, we were very disappointed with Wild Sage restaurant. Our waiter kept trying to take our plates and wine glasses before we were finished. That is a big no no! My husband told him he was allergic to dairy but then he brought us bread which was already buttered and a pre-appetizer starter from the chef which was cheese. A server in a top notch restaurant should pay better attention to the customer. The food was only mediocre. The arugula salad was just so so-not much taste! I had the Wahoo which was just ok. My husband and sister had the halibut which had mixed reviews. My sister said it was overdone and my husband said it was good. My brother-in-law had the pork Osso Bucco which was so overcooked that his knife went flying to the floor when he tried to cut it. We ate at several other restaurants in Jackson that had less rating which were so much better than this night. What a disappointment for our anniversary celebration dinner.

As a Jackson local, I'm almost reluctant to rate the Wild Sage because I don't want to have to fight for a table any more than I already have to. Since there are only 6 tables, reservations (during peak summer) are an absolute must. The ambiance is great as there is a beautiful fireplace surrounded by a comfy couch and chairs in the center of the small room. The service is incredible. But what makes the Wild Sage my absolute favorite restaurant (anywhere) is the food. Unlike so many upscale restaurants, that bend over backwards to create something original with all sorts of obscure ingredients combined in unusual ways, I find the food at the WS to be simply elegant and absolutely delicious. The price definitely makes it one of those 'special occasion' type destinations. For $20 corkage, we usually bring a bottle of one of our 'special occasion' wines from the cellar. That being said, their wine list is extensive, though there are not too many aged selections (pre-2000).
