First night in Jackson we went to Trio - no reservation, Saturday night, the place was heaving...40 minute wait for a table or "we have two seats left at the bar right now". And thats what we did. The waitress we had was very friendly, helpful, made some good recommendations. The basil infused olive oil was delicious, waitress even told us how to make it. Nice! I had the roast half chicken which I enjoyed a lot without being overwhelmed, wife had trout which she loved and shared waffle fries with blue cheese are naughty. Made a mistake with the huckleberry bourbon cocktail..that was my fault. Busy restaurant, reservations should be made, service great, food very good.

Really excellent dinner. Creative menu, friendly staff and good food A little noisy as there was a large party dining at the same time.

Delicious meal. Very much enjoyed the tomato napolean and the pheasant. Would also recommend the asparagus pizza. Excellent service.

Fantastic service, cocktails, food and atmosphere. Wife had absinthe and the waiters presentation was spot on and dramatic. The pork tenderloin was super flavorful, tender, and had a fantastic smoked flavor. One of a kind dish. A must visit. Don't forget to try their s'mores if it's on the menu. They used a brownie instead of chocolate and used marshmallow fluff and then oven roasted the entire concoction. Dayum Good!

I'm giving this 4 stars but the service was a definite 5! The BLT soup and fries( blue cheese fondue) was delicious! The elk brochette was a let down- small, meat fatty, and over priced.

I was very much looking forward to trying the Trio American Bistro, because of the reviews on Yelp; however after leaving I wish I hadn't. I must commend the staff they were very friendly. Though I was hugely disappointed by the food. Both my wife and I took the recommendation of the soup, which was warm at best, but defiantly not hot enough for eating. I ordered chicken and though presented well it was under cooked. My wife fish with spinach. She too was disappointed as the spinach was under cooked. I can only guess the head chief was off for the night and the replacement was in a rush, something I won't be in to return.

Exceptional food. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. So nice to be in the hands of such a professional kitchen. Service was less professional -- such a shame, as it detracted somewhat from the dining experience.

For the price this place was ok. Perhaps it was what I ordered. I would give them a second shot if I am back in town. Great looking place, and cute hostess.

Poor Service is the norm in Jackson, WY and this place is no exception. The food is fair and certainly overpriced, but so is everything in Jackson. I would say this is one of the better over priced spots in town. However, if you are expecting great food and quality service for these prices don't come to Jackson. Ownership simply doesn't care and quite frankly they don't have to care. During the tourist season they have more business than they can handle. So, if you go just be ready for overpriced mediocre food and slow service that could care less if you are there or not.

Great place, not too expensive. Good mussels & wild boar salad.

Delish! We are Californians who were passing through Jackson and we were not disappointed with the food here. Really, fresh and interesting menu and friendly staff. Best meal we had on our whole road trip. If you find yourself on the CA coast then head to the Black Cat in Cambria--very comparable to this place and you will love it if you appreciate good food. Also: make reservations! This place gets packed!

Inexensive inventive and good . What more can one ask for? Our server was friendly and accomodating - the prices are very reasonable. Dinner for two with drinks was about $75.

Food, decor and service are excellent in every way. This is not a traditional western style restaurant, but one that could go toe to toe with any in San Francisco or NYC. If you miss some of the fabulous gourmet food from your major metropolitan area, be sure and check out this wonderful restaurant. Our miso glazed wild salmon was amazing.

You know the food was good and the service was ok, once we got seated. But after calling for reservations and waiting for over an hour after we arrived to finally get a table I was a little put out. Jackson has a yuppie reputation and I'm probably a little too down to earth for this place, but my new bride wanted to try it. We were on the verge of walking out when they finally had time for us. For the money, I know Jackson has better and I won't be back.

This was our first visit to Jackson Hole and we had no idea what to expect in terms of restaurants. I am something of a foody - my husband is not. We randomly found Trio the first night we were there and were more than pleased with our meals. The service was great - very sweet waitress. We loved the tall tables at the entry. To start the crusty banquette and basil infused olive oil set the stage....we could not stop eating it (and we are from the bay area where there is lots of great bread!). The arugala salad was fresh and dressed well. My trout was very good. My husband's roast chicken was moist and delicious and the roasted tomatoes it sat on were incredible..... We actually returned 3 times during our week trip and were pleased with each meal. This is a keeper!

nice restaurant with modern decor. ordered scallop as appetizer which was really good and cooked perfectly. Venison was cook and seasoned just right. the rum sponge cake was ok. also ordered Lamb but it taste like some one has pour large amount of salt over it. I tolerated to eat half of it but when I taste the salad which was as salty as the lamb then I knew it must be a mistake. after talking to the waitress she tried to offered to cook something else but I didn't want to wait for it so they took it off the bill. so I am not rating this dish. I will be back again to try other dishes when I come back to Jackson.

Lively environment, lively design. However, the food was not good and the prices at the very high end for a casual bistro. The NY steak had no flavor beyond "meat", and I've never experienced that before. It was tough and chewy for a NY steak. Perhaps it was frozen and defrosted in the microwave ... I can't explain how unpleasant the "meaty" taste was. I eat steak several times a week and this one was exceptionally strange. My husband had the pasta, which was served more first course than entree size. We both had extreme, hours long indigestion after this meal. Again, unusually strange for us. I wish it had been a different experience for us.

Hated every moment. Noisy, self satisfied, obnoxious, redolent with raw garlic salads, staff makes it a point to be speedy and deaf, of course. The chef thinks he is on the Food Cannel, Jensen the noisy pan-slamming disrespect for customers. Really hated this place!!!!

A great spot to keep coming back to over and over! Spend three nights in Jackson, and had dinner here two of these nights. Service and food quality were both very good, but the ambiance tops it to the next level.

While shopping in Jackson, one of the shopkeepers tipped us off to the fact that Trio was celebrating its anniversary by making all of their apps $5. From the looks of the menu, this place is pretty pricey the rest of the time. You should still go because it's freaking delicious. I went against my rule regarding not eating seafood unless I can see the ocean, and it paid off because the crabcakes app was awesome. I also got the risotto with flat iron steak and it was honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. The place itself is dark and warm which is nice after a long cold day in Jackson.

Cute little spot. Made rezzie on Open Table but didn't really need it as the place was half empty. Mussels - yummy with small tomatoes and wine sauce. BLT soup - roasted tomatoes with pesto and pork belly Risotto - again with pork belly and corn. creamy and just right Burger with waffle fries and blue cheese fondu - yummo Creme brulee - huge plate Dessert special of the day - banana fosters with creme puffs Good meal and every bit what we expected. Modern and clean decor. Prices are decent for the quality and ambiance compared to CA spots.

Hands down the BEST meal we had in Jackson Hole. We ate upscale every single meal and this won by a long shot!!!!!! We had the blue cheese fries. I don't even like blue cheese and was tempted to lick the plate. The we had an appetizer which I can't recall (blame the stellar classic cocktails I was drinking like water)....but I do remember thinking it tasted like Heaven. Then for our entree we split the pork loin that was stuffed with all sorts of goodness. My hubby proceeded to tell the waitress he felt like he just got "food fu#ked" OMG I WANTED TO DIE....but for once I will admit...he was right!!!!!

My family was in Jackson this summer for 3 weeks and went to Trio at least twice a week!! The pizza is sooo good (I recommend the one with prosciutto and arugula), and the whole table split those as a first first course. Salads are great and menu has a great variety. Elk medallions are DELICIOUS!!! Get them! Also, get a side of the fries with bleu cheese fondue because those are great as well. Great service and staff, friendly to children, and awesome all around family feeling.

I'll get right to the point. We chose Trio for dinner early on a Saturday night. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere with the place getting filled at around 8 on our way out. We ordered a reasonably priced bottle of wine. Their wine list is decent and there are some nice options under $50. We started with the Blue Cheese Waffle Fries that seemed to be their most recommended item. They were just okay. It was like if you made an Alfredo sauce with blue cheese. Very mild and not enough of it! No crumbles of blue cheese or spice to it. They put a little on the top so the fries in the bottom if the bowl are just.. fries. We also ordered the Buffalo skewers which were tasty. Asian marinaded with a toasted peanut/ soy sauce over slaw. Tastes exactly how you would think as described on menu. Lastly we shared the Diver Scallops. These were memorable to me. Perfectly seared scallops. Light gnocchi (don't be scared of the squid ink, it adds no extra flavor just color). It was served with a pea purée. My thoughts on a pea purée when ordered were not terribly positive. But it turns out that it was sweet and creamy, without being heavy or reminiscent of pea soup. The French fried onions on top were a perfect addition to add more savoriness and crunch. I give it 3 stars as one killer entree and two decent appetizers was the experience.

Went to Trio for a nice romantic dinner while out in the Victor, ID area and loved it. The food was a bit pricey but was very tasty, and the serivice was great. The seating area was somewhat small so I would recommend reservations, especially if you are going to be out there during the summer (prime tourist time). The preparation, presentation, and taste of our dinners was great and this was the perfect place to have an upscale dinner for two or a small group.

  • James A.

This is the best local restaurant in the Hole. I would try everything on the menu. the elk, salmon, trout, lobster salad, kobe tartar and specialty drinks are out of this world. if you are eating in Jackson, this should be at the top of your list.

  • Stephen N.

Trio, is pretty typical of contemporary american cuisine. The food was fine, but nothing jumps out of the menu as very creative or a dish that you may not have heard of. This is not a place to come for a date as the tables are very close together as they try to pack em in. Again for the cuisine on the menu the prices are slightly elevated, not extreme but questionable.

D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! We are from San Francisco and appreciate a great meal - we were in Jackson Hole for 3 days and ate dinner there twice! The first night it was just my husband and myself - he had the arugula salad as a starter and the wild game sausage pasta - outstanding! I had the panzenella salad - which I have to say I like my mozzarella on the softer side - but my pan seared halibut was amazing. Our second night we had a party of 8 - we ordered just about everything on the menu - chicken, steak, elk, pasta, and the sweet potato fries - yum! If we ever find ourselves in Jackson again we would definitely return to Trio!

Absolutely a highlight to any trip to Jackson Hole. This restaurant is superb. First off, the service: Trio doesn't seem to employ a full crew of snow-bunny-twenty-somethings like many places in Jackson and it shows. Their wait-staff are professional, courteous and attentive. Suggestions were always on the mark and they really care about how you liked your meal. Secondly, the food: Outstanding. Every dish there was a winner and I think we tried most, if not all of them, in our two-week stay in Jackson. The salads are wonderful, their meat dishes done to perfection, even the desserts were well done. I have to give my strongest recommendation to their bacon-wrapped elk medallions. They literally melt in your mouth. Thirdly, the atmosphere: Very comfortable, very nice. The room is elegant without being pretentious, and makes no apologies for the fact that it's located in the heart of a "touristy" town. Jeans and a buttoned shirt will more than suffice, but, if you prefer, you can also throw on a sport-coat and not feel overdressed. Lastly, I gave Trio a five-star rating not just because the food was awesome, the people great and the room nice, but also because the restaurant was extremely accomodating to children. We had our three-year-old with us every time we went there and everyone worked hard to make him, and us, happy and comfortable. That's a special treat in a restaurant this nice and we really appreciated it. I can't wait to go back to Jackson and the Teton Mountains, but really, what I'd go back for is another great dinner at Trio.

I am sitting in this restaurant as I write this review - at the bar. I had booked over Open Table, and the restaurant had confirmed, a reservation for a table for two. We arrived precisely on time, but were told that the restaurant had given our table to someone else and we would therefore have to either sit at the bar or wait an hour and a half for a table. Apparently, the restaurant does not carefully monitor its Open Table bookings, with the result that it sometimes "overbooks." Perhaps I should be more understanding, but I have zero patience for restaurants that do not honor reservations. At the conclusion of the meal, I asked to speak to the manager. After I politely explained to him my dissatisfaction, to my surprise, instead of penitence I received attitude. He told me that he did not see a problem, because since we got seats at the bar, he felt that the restaurant had honored the reservation. I explained that the reservation had been made on Open TABLE, and that if that was the establishment's attitude patrons booking reservations should be told in the confirmation that they might be told that they had to sit at the bar. He then told me, in a voice dripping with sarcasm, that he was "sorry," but that was the way it was. I told him that he seemed blase, rather than sorry, at which point he grabbed the check, angrily said he would take care of it, and stormed off. So, in fairness to the establishment, I acknowledge that we got a free dinner, but I would have been satisfied with a sincere apology.

Great service with a friendly smile. I was very impressed with the fresh Cesar Salad (they make their own dressing). Loved the Truffled Short Rib Pasta and the Risotto. The prices were reasonable and the experience was overall wonderful. (I was super thirsty after a day of skiing and every time I looked at my glass it had been magically refilled by the water fairy--aka best servers ever)

This restaurant was a welcome surprise. We went there based on Yelp reviews & they were very accurate. Atmosphere - nice, modern, quiet - mostly locals Service - fantastic Food - all was extremely good. We had the pork loin, trout, elk medallions and BLT soup. The best was the pork loin, but the others were excellent as well. We had two deserts - creme brulee and a berry / peach cobbler. Again, fantastic The entire meal for 4 of us was $100 (minus drinks). This is a great place and one I recommend highly.

Great meal...tables are close together as mentioned in earlier review....but we enjoyed chatting with the folks close to us. Buffalo Carpacio and Waffle fries were awesome...we tried the Smores (the table beside us gave us some) and it was really good. Service was pretty damn good...no complaints there. Really reasonably priced relative to quality.

Stayed at the Wort and the woman at reception suggested this restaurant. Trendy, nice atmosphere.... Food? OK. Pasta dish was average. Starter salad, not so good. Bread and basil infused olive oil - excellent! Service? Crap. My crab pasta dish arrived really cold. When I told the server, she snapped it away saying nothing. Guy arrived from kitchen 10 minutes later with the crab pasta dish...no sorry, no apology, no nothing just a: "here's your pasta"..... When our server brought the check, no apology, nothing. You may be 'cool' Ms. Server, but that only works well when the food is good. If anyone from Jackson Hole thinks this is a great restaurant, they are seriously deluded. It's a place for self-appointed 'cool' people who love mediocre food.

Went to dinner based on recommendation from a local foodie. We we not disappointed. While the decor is modern, the atmosphere is friendly and cozy. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. I had the elk bolognese and my daughter has the butternut squash risotto. Chocolate tort topped with ice cream and huckleberry sauce for dessert. YUM!

I had the seared scallops, which were awesome, and the bacon-wrapped pork loin, which was very good. It's kind of pricey, but I think it's a great dinner choice in Jackson.

I went here with my girlfriend on our vacation. I had the Sautéed Trout - pan seared idaho rainbow trout, blackened corn, avocado, heirloom tomatoes, arugula and coriander lime vinaigrette which was fantastic. The trout was moist, flaky, and perfectly seasoned. The vegetables were all nice and fresh and the coriander lime vinaigrette was an excellent finish. My girlfriend had the Dungeness Crab Pasta - sautéed dungeness crab, angel hair pasta, tomatoes, tarragon basil pesto and parmesan which was fantastic as well. We finished off the meal by splitting a chocolate torte with huckleberry ice cream and huckleberry sauce which had fresh huckleberries. Next time I am in Jackson, this will be the first place I return to.

One overnight stay in Jackson and happened upon this little gem. Staying at Wort Hotel and saw this place down the street. The decor is the first thing that made me think that this place knows what they are doing. Walk in and you see the intimate ambiance they create in their 'air-lock' area.....someone has run a restaurant before. The open view kitchen even had easy on the eyes incandescent lights not the usually screaming fluorescent most commonly - 'wrongly' - used in poorly designed places. Service was informed and prompt, not too chatty but not big city stuffy. We started with caesar salads...one of the best we have ever had. Then had the duck pizza and a side of sautéed spinach....superb. Nice thin crust with golden brown crust - reminiscent of Europe style pizza. Excellent dining experience, clean and appropriately priced.

Fantastic food and service. I went there two nights running. And during the off-season, they have a 'spin the wheel' gig, where there are prizes ranging from free appetizers or desserts to having the whole meal free (except tip). Almost all of the food is locally sourced, and where it's not, it's naturally grown. I loved this place.

Fabulous food and service!! We loved the New York, they were very accommodating for my celiac daughter. She had the half chicken and creme brûlée that were fabulous. This was one of our two favorite places for dinner in Jackson.

  • Heather B.

What a gear find. Because I was dining by myself I was seared at the food counter which really is a fun place to watch the pizza's go into the oven. I had the arugula salad and the pan seared halibut. The only reason I didn't give Trio a 5 star rating was because the tapenade on my fish was refrigerator cold.

We had dinner at Trio during our stop over in Jackson. We shared the heirloom tomato salad and both had the pork belly risotto. Actually more like pork belly bits than the whole belly, so don't get freaked out. We finished off with the Lemon Merangue Ice Cream. Hard to say which was best, they were all deliscious. The only minor downside was my wife didn't like the Cucumber Collins. It was good, kind of minty like a mojito, but didn't go well with the risotto. They replaced it with a glass of white wine. Two drinks, shared salad, two entrees and a shared dessert, $75, well worth it!

  • Linda B.

We had the charcuterie appetizer...fantastic....especially the sausage! We each had the "special" seared ahi tuna that was amazing. For dessert we had the strawberry rhubarb crisp and the bananas Foster that were excellent. The entire staff worked as a team making this a memorable evening!

Pleasant atmosphere and service. The only negative was it was quite loud/noisy had a difficult time hearing people at our table.

  • Connie M.

Our experience at Trio was mixed but overall, on the positive side. They lost a star because the service was not up to our expectations for the price or the feedback we received from others. We were expecting someone helpful and engaging. Instead we experienced minimal interactions and no suggestions. Now on to the food. The appetizer could have been better. It was the Heirloom Tomato Napoleon. The mozzarella was flavorful and the balsamic and olive oil drizzle perfect but the tomatoes were not yet ripe. The entrees, however, were excellent. My partner had the New York Steak and I had the Grilled Pork Chop. Both were cooked to perfection and flavorful. The added touches such as roasted red potatoes for the steak and the pecan bourbon glaze on the chop made both sing. I would definitely go back and hopefully this time, the service will be as outstanding as others have described.

Cozy and contemporary interior with the bustle of any hip, big city restaurant. I highly recommend the Verde pizza - pesto, artichokes, olives. . .Mmmmm. I'm still dreaming about it!

Visiting from Chicago, we had an great dinner at Trio after a long day at the Tetons. We had lobster salad, Halibut, elk medallions, and chocolate molten cake. Everything was executed perfectly. The service was spot on. I highly recommend!

This place has really modern decor, and it has a really nice, sophisticated atmosphere. We ordered the appetizer special, which was the tuna BLT, the Caesar salad, the wild game pasta, the soup of the day, which was a cauliflower truffle soup, and the other special, which were scallops. The tuna BLT was really delicious! the bacon was thick, the brioche was crispy, and the tuna was really nice. The arugula with it was really nice, and the sauces that were on it had nice tastes. The Caesar salad was a typical salad, but still really good. The wild game pasta was too garlicy and salty for us, but we still ate it. After, we told our waiter that we thought that pasta was too salty and garlicy, and he subtracted it from the bill for us! The cauliflower truffle soup was very smooth, and the presentation was very nice, but i couldn't really taste the truffles in it. The scallops were good, they were very fresh, and had nice flavors to it. As we were leaving, there were people that were waiting outside, and the restaurant was very busy. Even so, our waiter was very attentive, and he was really good overall. If I could, I would give this restaurant a 4.5, because everything was really yummy, except for the game pasta, but I think that we got the pasta that had too much in it.

Finding an amazing -and- classy restaurant in Wyoming is like finding a jackalope... freaking impossible. We stopped in town on our way to visit my grandparents- it was my parents anniversary and thus we wanted to go somewhere nice. We walked by this place in the morning-looked at the menu- and went back that night. It was well worth it. Trio appears to have been uprooted from Portland's Pearl District and placed on a back street in kitchy Jackson Hole. The menu - New American with select local game featured- is the mastermind of 3 local chefs. I had buffalo sausage rigatoni- it was one of the most unique meals I had ever had. Dad had fresh caught Trout, Mom a New York Steak, and my sister a vegetarian pizza. All the details were attended to from meal presentation to restaurant decor. The drinks are stiff, the food is rich, the atmosphere is classy... it's ideal for a nice dinner out. So if you're in town - even for one night - bypass the tourist track, give Trio a call and make a reservation for dinner (you'll need to), and have a wonderful time.

This place was wonderful. We were seated right away. The service was fast and friendly. Best of all the food was delicious. I had elk and pasta and my wife had risotto. We both loved our meals. My wife has some dietary restrictions and chef accommodated her needs without a problem. If you are in Jackson and you don't eat here, you will be missing a great experience!

I ran into the Trio when I was wandering around downtown Jackson during a recent snowboard vacation. The atmosphere of this place pulled me in! Cool decor and atmosphere. I'll give the hostess credit, as I was waiting for a table a couple walked in and shouldered their way in front of me while the hostess was seating someone. When she came back she didn't look at them twice and seated me right away. Belinda, my waitress was super friendly and super quick with everything. Played "spin the wheel" for discounts after my meal and ended up with a little $20 gift card... It added a bit of fun to the dining experience. The food was really good, but not OMG...hence four stars and not five...

  • Emily Y.

The food was good. Try the margheritta pizza--really simple, but the spicy tomato sauce was very good. All in all, this is a solid restaurant. We made a reservation here on the recommendation of someone from Snake River Grill (apparently some of the chefs at Trio used to be at Snake River Grill) when the Grill was booked out for a private event. Our party of 12 very much enjoyed our dinner at Trio, but liked Snake River Grill better . . . which I'm giving 5 stars.

For the past year I have been meaning to write my review for Trio. I had one of the best restaurant meals of my life at Trio. Everyone in my group had a great experience there. I had the arugula salad, a halibut with wild mushrooms and cherry tomatoes (sadly it's not on their menu this year, but if they ever serve it again, I highly recommend it), and the mussels. The wine selection is also excellent. I recommend Trio to everyone I know who visits Jackson Hole.

Yep! It was "as good as it gets"! We had trout that was the best ever. We stumbled into this place, but I could tell from the moment that we arrived that -- yes, we HAD arrived! We travelled for two weeks in the Yellowstone/Tetons orbit, and this was our best meal by far.

  • Jack H.

The good news was the food was above average. The bad news is they worked very hard to turn our table in 30 minutes. They brought out appetizers the same time as salads, we asked them to slow it down, they brought main course before salads were completed....very rushed experience. Would not return.

This is a 10-star experience. If you are looking for delectable high-end food where the locals in khakis dine with friends and family, this is it. It isn't cheap, but it was worth every penny. Our waiter, Josh, was spot on with his recommendations-the Bison filet and S'more dessert-and his service. I had the Rainbow Trout and our daughter, the Duck Confit Risotto. The Trout? Buttery, lightly crispy, melt-in-your mouth deliciousness. The Duck? Succulent. The Bison? Sublime. And the dessert? Wood-fired, fudgy, graham-crusted, homemade toasted sweetness. At first, I was taken aback that a large family group without reservations (which I highly recommend) was given the window tables. As it turned out, there isn't a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are perfect for table conversation even when the place was packed, which it was by the time we left. This was our last meal in Jackson, but I would make it my last meal, period.

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the staff was so friendly and the ambience was enjoyable. The food left a lot to be desired. The chef loaded every dish with so much pepper it was all you tasted. I had beef and my wife had risotto. Both barely edible. Def would not recommend.

We were traveling and staying in Jackson, and had so many recommendations to dine here. We had no reservation and arrived right at 530 pm when they opened and they were able seat us with a table. The restaurant filled up very quickly so we felt fortunate. Our server was excellent and the were prompt with service. We ordered the Idaho Trout for our main entrees. We also had an appetizer which was very good. The main entree of the Idaho Trout was terrible. It was breaded with a corn meal and as dry and tasted like a frozen food dinner. No flavor at all. It was an a bed of arugula which added very little to the dry fish. For $26 for a very disappointing entree, Trio's chefs need to be embarrassed. How can they be so oblivious to such a terrible entree? Our waiter seemed to realize our dissatisfaction and did not even ask how we liked the meal. We also saw another table that ordered the entree and the husband lost interest in eating his Idaho Trout too and barreled into eating his wife's chicken. So we were not alone.

I know George Carlin would be screaming at me given my intro, but let me PREFACE my review with some pertinent information. My wife and I have dined at Trio annually for the past four years in celebration of our anniversary. The first time we ate at Trio, we were hooked for life, and mostly because of one particular dish they serve, the halibut. In my opinion, no restaurant can touch this plate as far as presentation and pure taste. It is simply surreal to the tastebuds. (last year, we were deeply saddened that the halibut had run out, so this year. we made reservations earlier in the evening so that song wouldn't play again.) Following our seating, the waiter happily promoted the Chef's tasting. It consisted of 5 courses of succulent food with the additional option of an added wine pairing. I took his recommendation wanting to try a little more than our annual fare. Let me make my point clear and concise straight out of the gate; This Was the Best Meal I Have Ever Experienced PERIOD. The appetizer. "Amuse" was a perfectly prepared lamb chop with spinach. I wanted to suck on the bone to remove every tidbit of delicious meat. great starter. First course. Foie Gras BLT. My tastebuds weren't prepared for the explosion of flavor. The Nueski bacon made the dish beautiful. Second course. Wood oven roasted prawn. It was meaty, tender, and full of taste. Third Course. Pan seared halibut. The crust on the halibut is like eating a buttered piece of homemade bread; crispy and yet melts in your mouth. The fish was moist and full of flavor; it was like eating a piece of filet mignon from the sea! Fourth course. Wagyu Ribeye steak. I asked for the meat Medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. The meat melted in my mouth like a fine chocolate. Flavorful and tender. Fifth course. Wood oven roasted smore. If you love dessert as much as I do, then you'll appreciate a true homemade delectable like this. Gooey homemade marshmallow covering a dense chocolate brownie supported by buttery graham cracker in a hot cast iron dish. Pure awesomeness! Now, each course came with a paired wine which truly matched the course and my palate. I don't usually drink white wine, but I must say the wine capped off each course pleasantly. Three of the courses had a white, one a red, and the last (dessert) a port. FYI, my wife did not indulge in the Chef's Tasting Menu, and decided on the Bison steak. She shared "one" forkful, and I was impressed with the tenderness and flavor. I've had Bison previously, and never truly liked it seeing it seemed too chewy. Her Bison reset my appeal for eating it, and I'm glad to know Trio gets it right. I must say the Chef is to be congratulated for creating a truly awesome culinary experience. Not to forget the server, we also appreciated his promptness and acumen throughout our dining experience. Thank you Trio for making our anniversary dinner a very memorably delicious evening.

I was sorely disappointed with my meal at Trio (early August 2015). The prices just aren't commensurate with the quality. My entree, a "cornmeal-crusted" trout, was telltale freezer fish: thin, not flaky, mostly tasteless, with a wimpy breading job that 100% betrayed its freezer origins. Hugely disappointing, pictured here. The salad was another misstep, featuring asparagus that had been charred, and oiled, into oblivion. However, the ambiance in here is pleasant and modern. The hostesses were sweet and professional. The table service was satisfactory. The best part of my meal was the unlimited flow of fresh bread and olive oil, which was NOT taken for granted after an entire day spent hiking!

Ate here on a road trip vacation where we were on the road for two weeks, visiting the great parks of the west. It was an epic vacation, but the thing will still talk about the most was our dinner at Trio. This smallish restaurant has a low key, modern woodsy interior. The staff are very gracious, accommodating and attentive, and even though we were not locals we felt warmly welcomed and cared for. I don't recall what everyone had for starters, but I thought my salad starter was of average quality for a high end restaurant. The entrees, however, shined brightly. I had a "deconstructed ravioli" (I think that's what hey called it) with Colorado lamb. It was a little unusual, in a good and challenging way. It seemed more to me like a loosely assembled lasagna, without all the cheese. Herb infused toothsome layered sheets of fresh pasta interspersed with shards of delicious, range-flavored lamb, delicate summer vegetables and a subtle light broth binding it all. Yum! Two of our party had the Bison entree. It was served sashimi style, very rare chunks trimmed and arranged looking like gorgeous tuna. My wife still has dreams about it, I think. My teenager loved his artichoke pizza. He says its the best pizza he's ever had. We decided to order a side of risotto for the table. It was very, very rich, studded with very flavorful flecks of high quality bacon. I wouldn't have liked it for an entree, which was an available option. Nevertheless, we all fought over bites of it. It may have been the best thing to hit the table. Plenty of delicious bread on the table to fill in the chinks. Our server helped us select a delicious Paso Robles red from their long, excellent and not-ridiculously-overpriced wine list. We skipped desert. All in all, Trio satisfied our desire for great food and service in an upscale, low key environment. Will be back next time we come this way.

Food was disappointing and the service was poor. I would urge you to go to another restaurant in Jackson. We ordered three fish dinners, all of them came out undercooked. One rule of cooking fish is that if you undercook it then you need to start over. They put the fish right back on the grill and they came out hard on the outside and dry. They were truly terrible dishes. We asked for a manager and the chef came out, he told us that the dishes were fine and he probably wouldn't be seeing us again. After arguing with us for 5 minutes, he agreed to take the fish off the bill. What a terrible experience!

Holy awesome. This place has some talented chef. My husband and I are still talking about the blt soup - it was totally nothing like we've tasted before - and the pizza we had. What was interesting with this place was that nothing seemed too special when reading the menu, but the flavors were unique and surprising. Tip: try sharing small plates and different things rather than one main entry. Tip: this place had a wide range of customers dressed to impress. Whether your style is cowboy boots or a cashmere cape- dress a little nice for the occasion!

Very disappointed tonight in one of my favorite Jackson restaurants! Published hours are open till 10p. Walked thru the door at 9:36p and the hostess told me the kitchen was closed. There were quite a few people still dining at tables and the bar and all I wanted was a quick but good Trio meal and a glass of wine. Too bad really because it was a lost income opportunity for the business and the server and for me to have a familiar meal.

Service a bit slow, good cocktails, but all of the food that we had for 4 guests was way over salted. The soup that evening was gazpacho and I would have to say it was the worst that I have tasted - it was as if the chef had poured a whole box of salt into it - absolutely horrible. And normally if a dish is not up to your expectations, the restaurant will remove the charge for that item - they did not even have the courtesy to do this for us! Would not return and would not recommend as there are much better places in the Jackson area.

This is one of best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had the Wagyu beef and my wife had halibut, both were wonderful. You won't be sorry.

I stopped by here with my fiance and her parents for dinner a couple of Saturdays ago. We had made reservations earlier in the day for 8 PM and arrived shortly before then only to wait for a bit. What was odd was that we could clearly see the table that we eventually sat at as being both cleaned and available whenever we had arrived. However, we were forced to wait until after the couple that was already waiting was seated before we were able to be seated. That was sort of odd if you ask me. In any case whenever we finally got seated I was able to better see the restaurant. It had a pretty cool open feel with an open kitchen and a wood fired brick oven for pizzas. Our group decided to start off our meals by splitting both the squid over squid ink romesco and waffles fries with blue cheese fondue. The waffle fries and fondue were absolutely amazing and I couldn't get enough of them. I loved the creaminess of the melted cheese over the crispy fries. Our squid appetizer ended up being really good as well and I think I probably could have left Trio at that point a pretty happy man, albeit still a hungry one. If that's all l had, I would have easily rated it five stars. For my entree I went with the shrimp risotto with the risotto having summer corn and sage in it. It was good but a bit under seasoned in my opinion and so I ended up adding some pepper to better suit my tastes. The bottom line for me is that I would stop back here again in the future. I would love to try one of their pizzas from the brick oven but in the meantime I thought that the appetizers were extremely good and I enjoyed my entree as well.

Wow, so good! Started off with the bacon stuffed squid and quail dishes. Very delicious and quite interesting combinations. Their duck special was amazingly good with corn and asparagus and dessert did not disappoint! The huckleberry ice cream with little frozen huckleberries was subtly sweet and their s'more (one very large s'more) was gourmet to say the least. Would definitely return if I was in the area again!

We had a great experience at Trio... the staff were extremely friendly/helpful, the food was excellent and the martinis were fabulous. This is a small restaurant, but very well run and a great atmosphere. There isn't a huge selection for vegetarians, but I guess you're in cowboy country!!! ;-)

With no reservation, we were able to get counter seats for dinner at the last minute. We enjoyed a flatbread pizza, salads and a side of risotto ('cuz we REALLY wanted to try it) Then finished up with the coconut creme pie and espressos. A delightful from beginning to end. Our server was friendly and efficient - just the right amount of care. Would love to enjoy a meal here again to try some other items on the menu.

Very tasty. I had the arugula salad to start and couldn't help myself from also ordering the bleu cheese waffle fries that everyone in town seemed to be talking about. The highlight for me was the elk chop, first time I had ever tried elk. It's similar to a lamb chop, but was a little larger and more tender. Service was great - our waiter was on top of everything, we never had an empty glass or other need.

I was really looking forward to eating at Trio because it had come highly recommended. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and introduced to our waiter. Out of the five of us, we ordered 2 of the special app ( foraged mushrooms, kale, cheese, walnut salad, 2 Cesar salads and the cream of mushroom soup. The mushroom "salad" was not a salad at all. It was cooked down veggies in a skillet with cheese melted on top. As I took a bite. It was all I could do NOT to spit it out. It was soooo overly salted that it was nearly inedible. The cheese was just gummy and unappetizing. The table concurred with this assessment. The soup was good. The Cesar salads were covered in raw garlic--not balanced. The entrees orders were the mussels, buffalo New York, the tenderloin, the half chicken and the special, pork with peaches. The Buffalo New York was cooked well, but very tough and a bit salty. The tenderloin, a beautiful cut of meat had a rub that made it incredibly salty. The pork was juicy and the chicken was average. Or desert, the s'mores desert and lemon pie were ordered. The s'mores was good (valrona chocolate is a plus), but the lemon meringue pie was just not great. The graham cracker crust was poorly executed. It would have been much better served in an individual dish. The server was very nice and took my comments regarding the food very kindly. He was attentive and fairly knowledgeable about wine and the menu. This place could be great. The ingredients are high quality an the menu varied, but the salt, butter and cheese cover up the delicious ingredients.

This is the best food and service we've had in Jackson Hole. Lots of tasty options on the menu and everything flawlessly executed. We brought in our own aged highend wines from our cellar and the server knew exactly how to take care of glassware and pours. What was even more impressive was how the staff reacted so positively to our 13 month old grandson who occasionally tossed a toy on the floor. Great place with a zen like vibe. If we were locals this would be regular haunt. Go here if you want fresh ingredients imaginatively prepared in a easy going friendly cozy spot.

Each year Jackson food gets better. Leaving some spots in a tough spot. Either they improve or get run over. Trio has been around for a while and got praise when first opening, don't mistake that praise, it ain't Otto, Lupa etc. It was Jackson good. Unfortunately today they can't get away with making "pizza" with dough that taste like matzos topped with incinerated squid tentacles charred basil leave and some black substance spread on the matzos. Chef step away from the salt shaker when stirring the Risotto ( Romano cheese and your stock are likely salted enough). Most of all remind your young hostess that acting like the door person with the guest list at an LA club was cool before she was born and given the quality delta between what Trio is slinging compared to Bin 22 around the corner or Osteria in the Village she may want to be a bit less smug.

I was initially excited to go to Trio because of the multitude of awesome reviews on Yelp. Trio was unfortunately very disappointing. Ordered a side of risotto as an appetizer, it was salty beyond belief. To give the restaurant credit, they remade the dish for me (to their credit, it was very good). However, we did not care for our entrees at all. The Verde pizza was extremely bland, the Roma was not very good, and the third one (w/pineapple and ham I think) was downright awful. The crust entirely disintegrated in my hands. The wood oven fired smore was good, but not enough to bump up this review beyond 2 stars. I would never go to Trio again, especially because there are so many other great restaurants in Jackson Hole.

Fantastic food, great service! Had the risotto and the beef bourguignon. The risotto was incredible. The bourguignon was a little dry. Could be because we came in at 8:30 on a Monday night. Good wine by the glass. Coconut cream pie was a disappointment though. Would definitely eat there again.

Wow. I loved this burger. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and had a sharp cheder. It also came with waffle fries that had a blue cheese fondue sauce drizzled over top. My only complaint it that the food was so good I stuffed myself and didn't leave room for the homemade smores desert. Some ladies at the next table ordered it and were going crazy over it. A good excuse it go back again.

The restaurant is small and cozy with a nice atmosphere. The food was great. I had lamb with pasta and my wife had risotto with squid (a daily special). These were both delicious. For dessert we had a pumpkin cheesecake which was also yummy. Our waiter was good, though he could have refilled out water a little more and he seemed just a little stand offish. He wasn't bad, but just had some room for improvement. Overall, I was happy with our dining experience.

This little place had a great, chic ambiance. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and helpful. My brother claimed his burger was one of the best he's ever had but the blue cheese waffle fries were surprisingly mild. The verde pizza was salty and good, but my lamb pasta was strange--the lamb and squash were cooked perfectly but the lemon ricotta was sweet and tasted out of place. Order the s'mores and/or lemon meringue pie desserts. Both blew us out of the water!

Really delicious food! Get the Waffle Fries w/ Blue Cheese! I don't usually like blue cheese but I loved this. Also on multiple occasions had pizza and it never disappointed.. The lamb one yum! The service was great! When my Dad was unhappy with his wine the waiter offered to get him a different glass until he was satisfied. Smaller restaurant though.. A little cramped. I would give it 5 stars for the food but I really don't like how it's so small and seating is uncomfortable.

What a beautiful place. The hostess was so nice she actually asked the chief to stay open for us as we showed up 20 minuted after closing.. The waitress was just as good also. She was wonderful. Now to the amazing food they brought out, simply fantastic. Each and very bit was delicious. We walked out of there stuffed. A must go if you are in Jackson Hole. Thank you again we loved it!

Yes, I am giving a big WOW to this one, or "big ups", or SPECTACULAR! I eat pretty well around the globe, and I have to say this place is as good as it gets! We were two couples on vacation from Southern California, and where do I start: 1. The drinks were good...we all loved them, personally, I had a few "Blood Orange Margarita's", Superb! The others had some other special of the house cocktails, all were quite good or great! 1. Apps - how do you make a simple arugula salad so good...not sure, but they did, was wonderful! Pork Rinds, OMG! Mussels, and dip the bread, OMG! Mussels were incredible, and the bread superb, together... OMG! 2. SPECIAL STEAK - I'm kind of a "steak snob", I just don't enjoy flavorless, tough, boring beef....Ok, one more OMG! We had the "special" bone-in rib-eye, we split it 3 ways, fed us all, and we took half home...quite possibly the best steak I have ever eaten, can I say, "off the chains"? We did it medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly, and seasoned simply and perfectly! ... the Sea Bream, so good, scallops, oh my! **Top 2 steaks in the world, this one, and Kevin Rathbun's special "cap of the rib-eye" in Atlanta. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Jessica, and thank you Jessica for taking care of us! Our waitress was wonderful, honest, good advice, big smile, the real deal on what wait staff should exemplify...I don't remember your name, but you were wonderful, well trained, smart, and fun! This is a legit 5-Star review... eat well, do there, enjoy!!!!

I really enjoyed Trio. The atmosphere was laid back and classy at the same time, with quirky paintings and a sleek, modern look. We ordered the onion dip to start, and though it was a bit too oniony, it was satisfying and flavorful. I got the arugula salad and Joe got the Caesar--both were delicious. I wish my arugula salads would come out as good as the one here. But they really don't. For dinner, I ordered a salmon special they had--salmon with pesto, pine nuts, kale, and heirloom tomatoes. It was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. It was the perfect dinner for the mood I was in. The tomatoes were juicy and sweet, the salmon was well cooked, and everything paired so well with the pesto. Joe got the burger, which was so cheesy and gooey and decadent--really yummy. I would highly recommend giving this place a shot when you're in Jackson!

A comfortable and comforting setting for a wonderful meal. Our server was not only helpful with the wine and meal selection, she was helpful with suggestions for other places we should eat and visit during our Jackson stay. Intimate size, without being cramped. A happy buzz of conversation, without out causing the need to shout. We were there in the summer, but it still felt like the type of place you'd want to eat after a day of skiing.

Overall, it was very good. The food was great, but the service was mediocre. When your spending 30-40 dollars ala carte, you expect such things like not receiving your side dishes along with your appetizer at the same time. Elk and scallops were excellent. Very friendly place, just a bit disorganized. I would go back.

Jackson WY has a surprising number of fine dining restaurants, feels like half the town is just that. I ate at Trio on new years eve and they were serving a prix fixe menu: $65 for three courses. There were wine pairings as well (alcohol wasn't included) and I was super excited to see a silver oak wine as an option, but noted it wasn't listed on the regular wine list. My first course was wagyu beef tar tare, it was a huge miss. The beef was smothered in what tasted like ranch dressing and served with garlicky flat bread. When you're serving tar tare it's all about the meat, which was totally lost here. I hesitated to send it back, but thought I'd just hold out for the main. A sea bass on a leek and potato pancake was next. I couldn't help myself this time.. straight back to the kitchen. Instead of the rich buttery flavor of other sea bass I've had, this was oily and salty. I'm going to wager it was frozen. The potato leek pancake was burnt. I swapped out for the steak which was probably where I should have started in the first place. It was simple and good, nothing fancy and was cooked on the rare side of medium rare (not a problem for me). I finished with the smore's dessert which they are known for, it was just the kind of grown up interpretation of the original that I wanted, slightly browned crispy marshmallow on top of a gooey brownie and a graham cracker crust. The stand out of the meal. I'm not sure about the regular menu, but overall Trio was fine, I wouldn't go back as they seem to be missing some small details that, at this price point, shouldn't be overlooked. The service was attentive and there was no problem getting another entree when the first one was such a disaster.

Trio had just had a fire during our last trip to JH, so we were pleased to be able to dine here on our most recent trip. Trio is a cute little bistro and we had a very nice dinner. It's a cozy space at Trio, so the tables were a little tight together. Our server was with us quickly and we got started right away. Mussels-sautéed prince edward island mussels, white wine, cherry tomatoes, garlic, lemon, thyme, parsley and grilled bread Risotto-chanterelle mushrooms, parmesan and thyme We liked both of these. The mussels were tasty and we mopped up the sauce with the crusty bread that came with it. The menu has a lot to choose from and some tempting options. For our mains we had: Pan Seared Hawaiian Ono sage infused gnocchi, crispy prosciutto and brussels sprouts salad, capers, lemon and brown butter Elk Sausage and Onion pizza house-ground elk sausage, caramelized onions, marinara and fresh mozzarella My wife loved the Ono. I liked it a lot too from the little bite I snuck. I'm seeing Ono more and more on menus and if you like fish try it. I was happy to get my game on with the elk sausage pizza, and it had a nice spicy kick. We got the oven baked Smores for dessert. It was a gooey brownie covered with marshmallow fluff. Sinful.

Everything I had here was pretty amazing. The arugula salad, mixed with the truffle oil egg and mushroom appetizer was the perfect combo. The NY strip was tasty, even though I'm usually only a fan of filets. But the highlight of the meal was the s'mores dessert - a caramel brownie with graham cracker crust and a block of marshmallow on top, thrown into the pizza oven for a few minutes to melt and caramelize the marshmallow..we came back again the next night just for that!

I traveled 20+ driving hours (yes, via my SUV) from San Jose, CA (Silicon Valley for those not in the know) to Jackson, WY; therefore, I'm at liberty to employ the 'Critical Eye'. In a snapshot,... Atmosphere... Ambiance was straight out of a contemporary San Francisco American Cuisine Restaurant... it seated about 50-70 people. I liked the fact that they separated the wait area from the dining area with a hanging curtain. The atmosphere (not the food) reminded me of Zibibbo in Palo Alto, but smaller and cozier. No bar. No outdoor seating. Open kitchen. Service... was above average. On par for a nice meal. Four star. Food... four stars. Really good. My wife and I split the arugula salad. They use high quality parmigiano, nice ratio of dressing per arugula but the dressing was tart and needed some salt to balance it out. I had the trout with the ratatouille - individually each element was phenomenal, but together the vegetables drowned out the delicate flavor of the fish. My wife had the pork loin (stuffed with sausage and wrapped in bacon) that was aromatic - and divine! The potato puree looked like nacho cheese sauce from the ballpark, but our taste buds lit up from the flavor (don't be fooled by the look). The sausage was peppery, too peppery for the dish with the figs...but alone how can pork, on pork, on pork be bad? It wasn't...it was delicious! The figs were misfits for the dish. We usually LOVE figs with pork loin. Don't know if it was the sausage but didn't really work. I don't know why they were there. The blood orange margarita was very good. LOVED the lime and blood orange combo..the extra dose of lime around the rim with the salt was thoughtful and delish. If the management there is reading this review,... you need to drop the Castle Rock Pinot Noir from your wine list and replace it with a David Bruce or something else for sure.. Castle Rock is subpar for the restaurant you have! The Bonterre chardonnay (by the glass) was served way too cold - although it was a good wine. Price... it was a fair price for the genre of restaurant. One last thing... I regret not ordering the Absinthe. They serve it with ice water and a flaming sugar cube! I may go back before my trip is over just for that.

San Francisco quality and style and service. Very contemporary setting in old gas station in the middle of downtown Jackson. This place would be a winner in my town. Fantastic Blood Orange Margarita and the bartender even asked me if I wanted it sweet or sour. White cheese/asparagus thin crust pizza excellent

Great food & skilled servers! With Laken's help, we arranged a 50th anniversary dinner via long distance. Everybody (ages 10 to 80) thought the food was delicious, and the servers did a great job moving us along (so we could get to our next event) while not making us feel rushed. We really loved the Roma pizza, even our auntie from Italy agreed. The lamb pasta and argula salad also got rave reviews from the group. We'd definitely eat here again.

Boy not the trio I remembered even last season. Have you ever watched the hypnotic spin of water as it leaves the basin and you couldn't find the drain plug in time? I am watching a great restaurant do the same. I have been blessed with great culinary conditioning all my life. I feel my palate warrants a b+ and have enough restaurant experience to get me introuble. So, here goes my first unofficial review. I take criticism well and expect respect as I have great respect for the chefs and owners. I hope this helps. The bill came in as we expected, but the food like the interior design missed the greatest aspects of the total experience of going to a great restaurant. The mussels were as they should be balanced, well seasoned, and not over buttered to an oily soupy mess. The main course dishes were the the veal and the scallops. The scallops were cooked to perfection, but gnocchi lacked any flavor beyond the initial bite and the texture was that of a fishing jig filled with a mystery paste. There were no layers of flavors, no suprise, and left me saying, "it is was it is". I hate that phrase. The Veal was tragic, and that poor baby cow gave its life for me and for the chef who apparently forgot to season taste, season taste, and season taste. The temp was off by at least a min or two and again devoid of flavor ( I too suspect frozen and vacuum sealed) if not boiled in a broth to save last weeks veal from spoilage. I was so utterly excited to eat my veal as my amazing girlfriend had cooked and incredible lamb dish earlier in the week. I dont know what happened to the sauce or the lack there of. If you are going to use a sauce in the manner in which the chef plated my veal, shouldn't the flavor of said sauce at least stand up and say hello to my taste buds every once in awhile? I was left chewing a hint of veal flavored meat and a salty brown sauce that needed to be dispensed in a katchup bottle to gain any compliment to the meal. The open kitchen in any restaurant is so often overlooked. Like the barrel vauleted ceiling and arched windows in Trio that are covered with misplaced perferated plywood, this open kitchen has forgotten that I can see the chef. Again, what I saw was that they forgot to season and taste. It was as if my man was still skiing and just assembling. Understandable, the pow was better than the chow this weekend.. sorry trio you missed, a mantra that is being heard all over the valley....

Delicious. We were only in Jackson for one week and ate dinner twice at Trio because it was so good - food, atmosphere, wait staff, etc. I had the hamburger with the famous waffle fries and bleu cheese fondue on my first visit - delicious. On my second visit I had the halibut on zucchini cake and gazpacho - fabulous! Creme brûlée to top it off was equally amazing!! I will go again.....

Ordered pizza with prosciutto. It was all dough with very little prosciutto. Spinach was very salty. Risotto was not good. Staff recommended a $30 bottle of wine from Italy. It was bad. We left over half of it. There are so many better places in Jackson Hole. Pricey.

Very disappointing. Cute decor. Pricey, limited menu. Poor service and burned food. We had been waiting for some time to visit Trio in Jackson. Reservations on line were easy and we were given a great table. The menu included pizza, a cheeseburger, and fish, beef, pork, and pasta entrees from $22-32. Everything ala carte with sides fro $7-12. House wines were $8-12/glass. We ordered $17 cheeseburgers which seemed to offend the waitress. One came perfect and the other with a totally burned bun. Waitress could not be found until I was nearly finished and my wife abandoned the burned bun. When the issue was pointed out to the waitress, her comment was "That's bad! Here is your check." We won't be back.

Delicious! On our last night of a four day Yellowstone/Grand Tetons vacation, we had a lovely goodbye meal at the Trio. We decided on Trio because of all the great reviews on Yelp, and was definitely happy with our choice (we were especially thankful for the meal after having beyond terrible food all vacation long at the cafeterias inside the Yellowstone....yuck!). Our meal at the Trio was fantastic! We had the Elk Medallions, the Seabass Special of the day (we grabbed the last one!), and the pork chops. The last two were phenomenal! The Elk Medallions were a bit under-whelming (which may have been my fault as I never had elk before and expected it to taste a whole lot different than beef, which I felt like was very similar in taste). Service was great. Our waitress was very sweet; attentive yet un-intrusive, the way great service should be. Our meal got off to a bit of a rocky start when a table wasn't ready by our reserved time and we ended up having to wait for almost 40 minutes (starving!!) but once we sat down it was smooth sailing from getting our orders in to getting our check. Highly recommended for any vacationers in Jackson Hole, especially if you just spent a few miserable days chewing on inedible food from Yellowstone cafeterias/restaurants (some way worse than others), you will think you've died and gone to food heaven at Trio!

Appetizers, main course and desserts were great. Pork tender loin was awesome.

I love Trio. I wish I could afford to go here more often, because the food is delicious and one of my neighbors is a server here and does a fantastic job. The blue cheese fondu is yummy on the waffle fries--a must have if you come here. I am not a fan of blue cheese either so that says something. The tables are close together....but rumor has it that Trio will be opening up a second location that is bigger, so hopefully this helps with the space issue. I also appreciate that the restrooms are clean and smell nice. The last time my boyfriend and I came to Trio he was on crutches and they accommodated us quite nicely providing us with a table that has one side against the wall with the booth style seating. The staff is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this place! You can usually find parking on a nearby street or if it is a busy summer day there is garage parking within 3 blocks of the restaurant and it is free!

I used to love this place and come here very often. But the food and the service have dropped considerably. The best thing on the menu- trout with white cheddar grits was taken off the menu (like all of the things that I like)... Lots of meat options if you are a meat eater but not so good for veggies anymore.

Always a favorite of mine and my family's, we bring every guest we host to Trio for at least one meal. Having grown up in Jackson and frequenting every restaurant more than once, I can say Trio has the best burger I've ever had! It's a buffalo burger cooked perfectly. Be sure to get the sweet potato fries as well. The staff is great, the atmosphere is great, and the food is exceptional.

Ate there twice while visiting Jackson last week. It was fantastic both nights. Had the risotto the first night (fabulous) and the pork chop special the second (out of this world, best pork chop EVAH!). Wines were very reasonably priced. We had the ice cream sandwich for dessert. It was fantastic - very unique and oh so tasty. The atmosphere is very chic, but were people there both in nice clothes and in jeans. It was really busy both nights, so I would recommend getting a reservation. Easily the best dining experience we had in Jackson.
