The atmosphere was nice... cozy with elegance. The food was excellent. I had the Buffalo Brisket Sliders to start... it came with two sliders and fries. The meat had a nice smokey flavor and was coated in a delicious Huckleberry bbq sauce. It also came with a side of gouda cheese sauce, thin & great for dipping. For dinner I had the Rabbit Sausage (toss-up between that & Elk Short Ribs). Excellent choice- 3 sausage links served with caramelized peppers and mashed potatoes. Loved it! I had to skip dessert because I was way too full :( The only thing I didn't love was the service... She seemed to have an attitude (maybe because I was in a t-shirt and ball cap) but I was pretty disappointed with her.

Great service and the food was pretty good also I had buffalo burger and coleslaw with a brown draft beer. Enough said.

Historical restaurant in scenic Jackson. I ordered the baby back rib special but it was not that great. The ribs were overdone and they just slathered on the BBQ sauce after cooking. I also ordered the world famous corn chowder and that was indeed good. My boyfriend ordered the roasted half chicken but it was definitely not a half chicken, more like a quarter. However, he reports it was tasty, as were the mashed potatoes. We both enjoyed the fresh cheese bread. The service was outstanding.

It was off-season and the bar had mostly locals who knew eachother on this Monday night. The staff was very friendly at the bar and I had a simple meal of hamburger and homemade potato salad. The burger was 1/2 pound and cooked perfect and the salad was decent, but small portion. They have two menu's and I ordered off the cheaper bar menu. There was a decent local Wyoming beer I enjoyed as well and the Cowboys lost on Monday night to complete a pleasant experience.

How does this place have 3 1/2 stars? The food here was barely edible and the staff were rude and not very helpful. I can definitely say that this place is a prime example of why Jackson Hole is truly a hole. The city is really tailored to rich people with no class. 90% of the stores were jewelry stores don't forget they also have a Sothebys there. I also spotted a plastic surgery clinic in town. "While on your rich white trash vacation to Jackson Hole why not get some liposuction or some collagen lip injections!" Anyway, I digress. We had trouble even finding a place to eat in Jackson Hole as most of them had bars and wouldn't allow kids in. Finally we came to the bottom of the barrel and tried The Silver Dollar Bar & Grill. I wish I would have actually gotten a Silver Dollar when I went there because that would have been more worthwhile than the meal I ate. I ordered a bison burger and it was tasteless. Bison meat is naturally flavorful so either what they served me wasn't Bison or they figured out a way to actually remove flavor from the meat. I guess that is quite a feat in and of itself but not necessarily a good one. My wife has an egg allergy and asked if the burger buns had egg in them. Turns out they do, she asked if anything on the nachos were prepared on the same surface as eggs and the waitress said no. Turns out she was horribly wrong as my wife got terribly sick that night. After asking the waitress about eggs she became very rude the rest of our meal. We asked for extra sour cream and she made some statement to another waitress about how she HAD to go get more sour cream as if she was annoyed that she had to do her job. This place is a total abomination like the town it's located in. I give the Silver Dollar Bar & Grill 1 Doubleday but that's only because there is no lower rating to give. I also recommend you try eating somewhere else in fact, just avoid Jackson Hole in general and stick to Jackson and the National Parks.

I have been here on two separate trips to Wyoming, mainly for drinks, and it has been consistently good. I have mostly had beer here, so there's nothing to mess up there, but the service has been friendly and attentive. On my last visit, I got to try the spinach artichoke dip.... oh em gee... this stuff was beyond good. So garlicky and cheesy, with a huge portion (they had to refill our chips, true story). I ate so much of this, I couldn't eat dinner... ridic. Go get this dip!

We decided to check this place out on the advice of a local shop owner. The menu displayed outside looked pretty similar to other restaurants in town so we grabbed a table outside on the sidewalk to enjoy the warm evening temps. The Portobello fries and corn chowder were better than our entrees, which were pretty boring. And good thing we ordered apps because it took well over an hour for the entrees to arrive. I get that it was a busy Sunday evening, but they had plenty of wait staff on hand and it's not like the food is anything special. I think the problem is with the kitchen because our server was fine.

Stopped by here because the fiddle player in my dad's band played here 50 years ago. We ordered the corn chowder, rueben, and veggie quesadilla, all of which were disappointing. The corn chowder was a 3/5. Very rich, but something just tasted a little off. Per hands the melted cheese on top. The quesadilla was terrible. 2/5. We ordered it with jalapeños but it came with bell peppers which made it too sweet. It was also very soggy. My mom had the rueben which she said was OK, but something just wasn't quite right about it. The one saving grace to this place is its great atmosphere inside the Wort hotel, which has a beautiful foray, and is situated in the heart of Jackson. There are photographs of all the famous bands that have played here through out the many years of the hotel's existence and we saw my dad's old band-mate's picture there.

The consensus would have given this place a 3 1/2 stars but we rounded it up to 4 stars. The atmosphere was very good and we liked the silver dollars inlaid in our table. The corn chowder is as advertised - it is very, very good. My wife really liked her trout board, but the rest of the food was meh. The service was spotty at times, but that central chowder...

I had a lot higher expectations for this place by looking at the menu. There were some really unusual items on the menu, but from what we tried, they were just so-so. I opted for the elk gyro and it was very plain. There was hardly any flavor to it. The elk was cooked nicely, but it was boring. I'd like to give this place another shot, but they have an uphill battle ahead of them. With so many amazing sounding dishes on the menu, I was shocked at how bland it turned out. Even my friends that go t the buffalo burgers said they were "meh".

Very nice happy hour. Live music at night. Prices changed after our first drink but still in happy our. Nice customers at bar.

The filet mignon and the buffalo steak were both amazing. The shrimp on the steak were perfectly cooked but the steak melted in my mouth. Most tender wonderful thing I've ever had. My husband had the buffalo steak was really good too. (I'd never had buffalo before surprisingly the bite I had was tender and delicious) My daughter ate off the kids menu and had the chicken strips with Fries. Nothing fancy about it but a massive portion. I'm sure two kids could eat it. Overall I'd recommend!!

Delicious fun they usually have live music Lots of beer on tap and their soups and wings are so yummy!!! Must eat if your in Jackson hole !

This is a quintessential "fancy cowboy" restaurant, complete with local game on the menu. There's not much in the way of late night eateries in Jackson, so this place is an oasis if you're pulling into town late. Our waiter Matt was awesome, cluing us into a bunch of cool local things to do. We'll be back!!!

Evidently, the geniuses at Yelp are not allowing my review to be part of the regular list. Instead, their stupid software has made all of my reviews, not recommended. My wife and I love this place! We are locals, and eat out quite a bit, and the Silver Dollar Grill is one of our favorites! I don't see it on the menu now, but the portabella fries were really good; comes with a tasty, spicy dipping sauce. The corn chowder is really that good and can be a meal in itself. One of my go-tos for drinks is the jalapeño margarita; the infused jalapeño is readily noticeable! My favorite entre is the Wyoming Whiskey Wild Boar Chop! This is a large frenched chop that is juicy and full of flavor. And the whipped potatoes are amazing! This is a must visit. After eating, hop across the hall for some great entertainment and enjoy another jalapeño margarita!!

The bar was packed, but we had no problem getting a table for 5 at the restaurant on a Saturday night. The menu was exotic and amazing ... unfortunately the food less so. The corn chowder was mentioned frequently and that was excellent - if you find yourself here, order that for sure. I'm sure it hits the spot when you are cold and hungry! I had the Buffalo Filet Mignon - I ordered a medium rare but it was definitely rare. And unfortunately, the buffalo meat was a bit too gamey for me to really enjoy. I tried to give it away to my family - but none of them enjoyed it either. Since the waitress never came back to check on us, I couldn't request my meat get a bit more cooked. We also ordered the boar chops - 2 orders - 1 medium and 1 medium rare. They were delivered to the wrong person and we didn't realize it until we were several chops into the meal. Nothing wrong in the preparation, but another dish no one wanted to finish. It was by far the most expensive and worst meal of our trip.

I had the wild boar chops with whiskey sauce and the mascarpone whipped potatoes. Yum yum. My friends had the burger which was wagyu and huge and the steelhead trout. A cool vibe as we sat on the dining room side, less noise. Great historical place, great food and attentive service!

Rare we don't like a breakfast, but the food was cold, potatoes tasted like they were pan fried in rancid oil and the eggs were cooked hard rather than over easy. Worst breakfast in years.

We were a group of six expecting fine service, great food and a special Western ambiance for our only dinner while in Jackson, Wyoming. We were very disappointed. We were seated 15 min past our reservation; we weren't served our wine or pre dinner cocktail for 30 minutes; two drink orders were incorrect; one person's appetizer was forgotten; and another person got her appetizer and entre at the same time. The food itself was satisfactory- the elk short ribs the best; but sadly to say, the dining was uninspiring and average. The ambiance was fine and what one would expect in an old Western hotel.

We found the last open table on an early May Tuesday night and ordered some local brews on tap. While, they weren't bad, they were not the stars of the show; the corn chowder was hands down the best soup I've ever had in a restaurant. The only issue I had was that the cup was so small. I wanted...no, NEEDED more! :) We also couldn't leave without trying the big game items - Elk Sliders and the Bison Burger (Wort Style, w/ blue cheese and bacon). They were not bad at all. I asked for the chipotle ranch used on the popper shots and added it to my sliders along with the colorful kale they used as a pickle garnish (as any self-respecting San Diegan would), it did not disappoint and added the perfect fiery kick! And finally, the bluegrass and local dance team added another layer of flair that I was not expecting! A great Tuesday night in Jackson Hole. If you happen to time it right, I would highly recommend it! :)

Service was so slow. The table next to us had a better server and received their food faster. The smoked trout appetizer was great as well as the buffalo tenderloin. The steelhead trout was overlooked. The waiter was not much help but the manager comped dessert so that was helpful.

Food was great, loves sitting outside to eat. I had the bison burger, my wife had the quesadilla and we enjoyed them. Downside: 25 minutes to get a beer, lunch took 90 minutes. When we pointed out to the manager that things were slow and people that say down 30 minutes after U.S. Had there food she said "well that's a different section." So, avoid Danielle as your server and don't ask the manager for help. Like i said, food and atmosphere was good. Service, not so much and left a bad taste in our mouth.

Been coming for years. Love the place. Had food poisoning from the wings some years back...or this would be a 5 star. The corn chowder rocks. A fun place to watch people & football. The Sunday Bloody Mary bar....very sweet. They also get fun live music & they are attached to one of our favorite historical hotels here in Jackson Hole WY; the Wort.

My uncle took us here while we were on vacation as he told us they have really good burgers. He knew a few people inside too so I guess this must be a local hangout spot too. I didn't even get up to the bar to check out the silver dollars. I'm very disappointed in myself. I guess I'll have to go back sometime. In the end, I didn't even end up ordering a burger and instead went with a french dip with sweet potato fries. It was delicious and I ate all of my food. They had a good beer selection and our server was a sweetheart. It seemed like a great casual, laid back place.

Food is OK but service is very slow. And it is quite obvious that they don't like to serve foreigners (or at least French people). Several times the waiter and the waitress ignored our calls. Even our neighbors at the table next to us were sorry for us ...

My boyfriend picked this place to eat before our trip after reviewing the menu online. It was pretty bad. We had the American Bison Roll, (which were like over cooked meat wrapped in store bought, frozen pastry), The VERY over cooked and dried out Roasted Duck Tamales and two salads (one of which was NOT what we ordered but ate anyway). The Rocky Mountain Buffalo was way under cooked (I understand what "rare" is but this was ridiculous)..... Needless to say, we will never eat here again. Barely palatable. I hope it was just an "off" night for the chef or something.....

Consistent food terrible service! Everything on the menu is fine. Food seems to arrive at the table in a timely manner, meet the service is what brings the review to one star. Since May it has been apparent that the staff at the Silver Dollar absolutely could care less about friendliness, courtesy or use of the words 'thank you'. We are regulars at the Silver Dollar and we are not you type "A" demanding tourist customers. We've attempted to engage the wait staff in conversation, we consistently tip well and always say please and thank you. Unfortunately the wait staff, bar staff and bar manager seem more interested in either socializing with coworkers or spend most of the evening praying for their shifts to be over. Customer service has gone out the window at the Silver Dollar.

A group of six of my friends came here on Saturday night and were so in love with this bar. It was quite packed at 6pm but we were luckily able to get one of their large tables in the back right by the band. We got two rounds of drinks and they had quite a large selection of brews to chose from, including many local beers. We all ordered their buffalo burgers, as that was the main reason we were there. For $13.50, the buffalo burger was a hefty 1/2 lb of really delicious buffalo, cooked really well, and came with your usual accompaniments. Around the table we got their fries or their slaw. Their fries were much better than the slaw but still mediocre. The burger was definitely the winner. Our service was slow but that was understandable with such a large crowd that night. The bluegrass band was absolutely phenomenal. Really great and the dance floor was used most of the night. To seal the deal we had a TV overhead showing the great college football games, the decor is awesome, the restaurant was clean, and it was fun touring the historic hotel a bit. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Live music on the weekends, specials on the weekdays, and a fun casual setting. There's not much to dislike here. The location is great, right off the town square, and if you're in Jackson this is going to be a stop on one or more of your nights in town.

  • Lynette L.

The atmosphere and location is nice, the wait staff in the bar area seemed to be busy visiting amongst themselves that they didn't pay much attention to those of us in the Silver Dollar Bar.

Buffalo burger, add blue cheese and bacon was solid. Legendary bar itself is cool...seems best to sit there. the rest of the place has odd layout and touristy as expected...service seems as though they've seen a lot of tourists, but still acceptable. Worth a stop.

I would give negative if there is option! I walked in with my friends and sit at the bar. The bartender took our order. One of my friend didn't have any identification on her so we moved to table from bar. The bartender didn't put our order in and had us sit at the table for almost an house. I had to ask for another server for help to check the status. The second server was busy helping anyone else but us. I had to ask the third server for food and I finally found out the order was never put in. She asked me what I want, I ordered again and waited, my friends food all came but mine. I had to ask again if the steak I have ordered is coming. The server didn't even know they have steak one the menu. The WORST restaurant experience I have ever had!

Good fare, counted 7 flat screen tv's if you're into watching the game while dining. Very good service, ordered spinach salad added chicken for an extra charge, glad I ordered salad dressing on the side as it looked like pink goo! I did enjoy their promotion that was a surprise, for an extra $1 the staff flip a coin and you call it, if you pick right, you win your lunch, our table won 2 out of 3 luches! Fun place, the food is not FANTASTIC, but I would go back for the venue, the service and the history.

Steaks where good service excellent. Nothing really stood out but just all around a decent meal.

  • Austin D.

Very nice place but very expensive I got there specialty spicy wings which were just wings in buffalo sauce Got 12 for 12.50 which wasn't bad but there 10oz ribeye was $40. In Ohio I can get a 12oz for $8 and I bet you it's a lot better. Also there were about 5 different waiters checking up on us so every thirty seconds we had someone at our table and it was hard to enjoy our meal.

We stayed at the Wort Hotel, so it was no brainer to check this famous place out. We figured it was only for tourists, but some local folks said they sometimes come here to check out the band on Tues/Thurs. We didn't go on those busy nights, but we went there to have dinner & drinks and to watch the Olympics on the big screen. Their appetizers are huge, and they have a pretty decent wine list. Very friendly staff. Casual fun place to hang.

Reasonable prices, great food, and fun atmosphere. I had the Wort Hotel Wings and loved it, pretty spicy and very flavorful. My wife had an Elk Gyro and really enjoyed it. Plenty of local drink selections. We will be returning and highly recommend it.

Loved the building which due to it being on the National Registry for historic places, had plenty to display like stained glass and wood moldings. Since the place had at one time been a scandalously bawdy gambling house, actual silver dollars are in the corners of the poured, clear plastic covering the tables. Food choices were inventive and full of local choices. Our table of four ordered a pheasant soup and elk sliders and a bison burger just so we could have a taste of each. We also had old fashioned grilled cheese sandwiches which were just bad. Where's the cheese? Instead, there was enough bread to choke one of those horses outside the City limits. Items are essentially a la carte, making even a lunch trip an expensive occasion. Visit, because Silver Dollar is making use of an authentic, cowboy place in the midst of neighboring kitschy, Made in China souvenir shops.

We stopped in looking for coffee and desert. However, no decaf! We had to settle for Irish coffee. The sacrifices we must make... Pleasant old timey frontier decor. Pleasant staff. Not to busy on a Sunday night.

We had breakfast here and were very disappointed. The potatoes were thin and greasy...no one at our table ate them. The oatmeal was burned. My friend couldn't eat it that, either. One person at our table ordered biscuits and gravy, which had almost no gravy on it. The ham was thin and dry. Now for the service....slow and totally inattentive. She failed to bring the orange juice or salsa, never checked on us until just before we were ready to leave....coffee got cold due to no refills. The only only positive was the ambiance. This restaurant isn't cheap, but don't expect much.

Our last meal in Jackson was at the Silver Dollar, recommended to us by one of the hotel staff. We walked in with no wait, into the bar (the restaurant seemed too pricey for our tastes). Many, many options to choose from. We wanted to try the bread (roesemary) which cost us 50 cents. It was so worth it...really fresh and flavorful. For our meals, I had a hard time choosing. I wanted a bison burger, but decided on the elk gyro. One of my friends had the pheasant soup (which didn't appeal to me at all) which came with a sweet potato hay. I forgot what the other friend had. I really liked my gyro. It came on a pita bread with some peppers and onions and a yogurt based sauce. It was really delicious. The atmosphere is what I consider a typical bar scene in a Western town. Many locals, tourists and curious folk. The decor is interesting as well: old timey paintings on the wall, silver dollars on the bar, just no connection between the two sides of the bar. But it was a fun place and the food was good, so I would suggest it to others who need a dining suggestion.

This place had pretty good food. I have the skillet your way and loved it. Some people at my table had granola and yogurt which was good. The eggs Benedict was a little overcooked but still alright. The reason I gave it such a bad review is because we sat down and didn't even get water for 20 minutes. Then we ordered and we didn't get served for another 30 minutes. Breakfast is supposed to be a faster meal than that and we felt like the server forgot about us. She didn't even ask us how our food was or if we needed anything. Food was average. Service was horrible.

  • Dave O.

My wife and I sat on the patio for lunch. The food was really quite good, and the outdoor atmosphere was very pleasant. Be cautious if you speak with a foreign accent, as did the folks sitting next to us. Their check included an 18% gratuity, ours did not. Not realizing this, the folks tipped 20% on top of it all! We asked the waitress about it and she said it's because foreigners don't often tip well! Not a nice practice in my opinion. We can't go back ever again.

The silver dollar is an ok place with reasonable priced food. However the service is lacking. I had an order of wings and a hot sandwich that both came out at the same time. The wings were ok but the didn't bring out any extra napkins or wet wipes, my cloth napkin didn't cut it and was soaked with sauce by the end. By the time I was done with the wings my sandwich was cold and soggy. I took two bites and didn't even bother eating the rest.

First of all, I'm not a country music person. I love a few songs from Ms Shania Twain & only 1 song from Ms Taylor Swift, PRETTY MUCH IT! Secondly, it was a 3rd day of my road trip from Oregon, I didn't really want to do anything but sit (not in the car) by the camp fire, looking at all the stars in the dark sky & read something!!! lol Fortunately, the energy of this place pulled me in, the staff was fun & energetic, the guests were fun & happy and the band was entertaining! The guests were dancing, laughing & being happy (I really like seeing something like this, plus the food was good too)!!!! My babe & I weren't so hungry so we shared Wild Bill's Elk Burger, Corn Chowder & French Onion Soup. Yummy!!!

Really fun place to go! Good food and good entertainment! What more do you need. My husband and I went there on the recommendation of a local we met. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was a grille and a bar. You have the choice of eating from either menu! The grille is more pricey. We arrived just as the band was setting up on the bar side, so we decided to sit there. The bar is first come first serve seat yourself and the grille is wait to be seated. My husband and I chose from the appetizers for dinner. We shared a plate of nachos... Huge plate! Very delicious! Then my husband had the wings and I had the chicken quesadilla! Both were fantastic! There was so much, We weren't able to finish all of it? I would definitely go back! We would like to try their burgers next time.

Cool place for a drink if you are staying at the Wort Hotel. Service could have been a bit friendlier, but prices were okay and decent pours on the wine.

The Silver Dollar Bar is a tourist trap with bad food, even worse service and awful management. Living in Jackson for the past three years, I have heard my fair share of criticism of the Silver Dollar, but had only stepped foot inside on a few occasions, so didn't have much of an opinion. That all changed recently. I went there for a drink with my girlfriend and her visiting parents while we waited for our reservation at Trio (a real gem). We found a table after a little time and were greeted by a busy cocktail waitress. I ordered a drink and was immediately asked if I was 21 (I am 30) and I said yes. Then after an awkward pause, the waitress said, "Well, do you have an ID". I showed her and then my girlfriends father ordered two glasses of wine for himself and his wife who had gone to the bathroom with my girlfriend. She almost didn't serve him the two glasses because his wife wasn't present, but after using her brain for a few seconds, decided that it was probably ok. My girlfriend came back from the bathroom and when the waitress came back with the drinks, dropped them off and immediately asked for her ID. She explained that she had accidentally left it in the car, but wasn't drinking. The waitress quickly told her that she needed an ID to be in the bar after 6pm. My girlfriend tried to explain that she was 25 and understood and didn't want to be a problem and that we would quickly finish our drinks and leave. The waitress said that was not allowed and she needed to leave. My girlfriends father then asked what we were supposed to do with the drinks we were just served. She said we could sit in the lobby of the hotel and drink them, but that my girlfriend needed to leave. My girlfriends father then said we were all happy to leave, but that we needed to pay first. The waitress left and 30 seconds later a "manager" came over and said frankly that my girlfriend had to leave. We explained that we were waiting for the bill and would as soon as it arrived. The manager then berated my girlfriend for not having an ID and not reading the sign that says, "must be 21 after 6pm". We tried to explain to her that the sign meant nothing because she was 25, so she was abiding by the "rules". The manager kept repeating that we should have read the sign, that my girlfriend had to leave. So eventually we paid and went into the lobby where we sat by the fire and all shared the 3 drinks. I have worked in hospitality for almost my entire working life and have managed a busy restaurant/bar. I know there are exceptions to every rule and a way to make patrons happy even when tough situations like that arise. The way we were treated made us feel like criminals. We couldn't stop talking about how rude the management was, how sorry we were that we ever considered going into the white trash bar know as "The Silver Dollar Bar". I am never going to set foot in the establishment again and will make sure to tell anyone who asks about it what an; awful, unfriendly, rude, uninviting establishment it is. And since I work at a very nice restaurant in town and talk with hundreds of people a week, I sincerely hope I can save people from the horrible experience they will most certainly have at this dump.

This was an interesting night. We were told that this place is where the locals go to hang out. Everyone from cowboys, foreigners (mainly Aussies), ski bums, tourists like myself, and all the other walks of life are found here. It wasn't too weird that we were the only Asians in this joint. Maybe at first but whatever. The service was still on point and we got over it pretty quick. They had this band rocking away random tunes from oldskool rock to plenty of country. It was actually pretty entertaining especially when you see people getting up and dropping it low on the dance floor. All was missing was line/square dancing of some sort. Age didn't matter either because there were young bucks to grannies hanging about. I definitely give mad props to the people who got up to dance even when they were the only one doing it while everyone else in the place was basically watching them. We got there a little later in the night so the kitchen was close. There was plenty of booze to go around though. The prices were mediocre and not as cheap as you would imagine. From dirty martinis to local brewed beer and your favorite brand of whiskey, all is available. I sat right in front of the tube and watched Sports Center for the majority of the night. We were told by the waitress that this hang out does not close until the last customer leaves even if it's like 5am. Word! I sampled one of their local brews and when the waitress told me it was light, she wasn't kidding. It was like drinking bud light basically. I apologize for not recalling the name but it was the first beer I saw under local tap. The band had to call it quits at 11pm sharp though. The crowd was cheering them on to play another song but the hotel manager came blitzing through and told them to shut it down immediately. I guess they didn't want all that ruckus to disturb the hotel guests upstairs. Not too long after that the place went from pretty occupied to half empty. I did forget to mention that this bar is located in the Wort hotel. Anyhow, if you're looking for something interesting to do or experience at night while visiting Jackson then this may be the most rockin' place to visit. Least they have plenty of alcohol to go around and you know they won't close on you.

There are two hostesses at the Silver Dollar: the outdoor one who either seats you in the patio seating or points you towards the indoor hostess, if you prefer indoor seating. After telling us we'd need to talk to the indoor hostess for our air conditioned table, the outdoor hostess remarked: " "You know, some states don't allow service dogs." We responded: "Service dogs are protected by Federal law; those states can no longer deny disabled people access because they have a service dog." the hostess replies: "Oh, but state law trumps federal law." We simply countered "You're wrong" as we walked inside to get our table from the indoor hostess. The indoor hostess AND the waiter & bus-person were very pleasant to us. Nobody, other than that outdoor hostess, had an issue with our service dogs.

We stopped in to try the corn chowder. It's amazing! We also ordered the elk sliders, which were also tasty. It was busy and the service was a little slow, but the food was worth it.

Fantastic! Went here with some friends after rolling into town a few hours before. We were starving, but were quickly surrounded by fantastic food. You must get the corn chowder! There's a reason they are known for it. Next time I go back I will try the pheasant soup too. They also make their own rosemary bread which comes out to the table warm. Nom nom nom. Feeling festive I opted for the buffalo filet and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not gamey or sinewy at all. It was delicious as were all the sides that came with it. It's rare for me to get completely filled up, but I did manage to eat 75% of the apple crisp which was good too. Our service was wonderful and we stopped in a few days later for a few beers and made sure to get the same waitress. We were on the bar side both times, but you can order off the grill menu there too. The bar side can get a bit cramped and there are only a few tables that could accomodate larger parties. There's also live music on the weekends. Wonderful place, will definitely go back!

The history at this bar and grill is evident from the moment you walk in. For guests of the Wort Hotel, this is a convenient choice but the place fills up with plenty of locals and guests of other area hotels. The bar has silver dollars - you guessed it - embedded in the bar and I'm sure there have been more than one inebriated soul who has attempted to separate them to no avail. The only real criticism is that the barkeeps only knew some basic drinks and preferred to pour beer. Certainly worth a visit for at least one drink though.

This place, like many others in Jackson is kitschy for sure, however the food is much nicer than the decor. Their specialty soup is delish and chock full of bacon, and the elk sliders are yummy! Servers were friendly and helpful. Minus the decor and some of the less than pleasant tourists that were sitting around me being rude about other patrons . . . it's probably one of the nicer touristy spots for lunch and has a large all day menu so you can stop in whenever.

This is not a review of the BAR. The bar was great. The associated restaurant with steaks and other high end fare is where this place was terrible. First, food is the reason for the review. Out of the 9 people we had at the table, not one person got the steak prepared as ordered. 2 members of our group were brave enough to send theirs back. The Cowboy Ribeye was skinny and certainly not worth the charge even if they cooked it right. Here is where our friends at the GRILL became an EPIC fail. We ordered a decent bottle of wine from what looked like a good list. The waiter brings out wine glasses that reak of old fish from old dish water. Almost lost my salad right there. No problem though, probably just an oversight. We asked the waiter "Mark" to bring some new ones. Can you believe he didn't even smell the second set of glasses that were worse than the first. So the manager brings out some new glasses with an appology and they still stink. Not just to me but the manager agrees??? We actually asked for plastic cups to drink the bottle of wine. Save your time and money. There are so many places for this type of money that have common sense and good food. You have been warned.

We stopped in Jackson Hole to grab lunch and walked in. For kind of a kitschy town, I didn't have great expectations, but was actually very happy with the food here :-) The buffalo burger that I ordered was very tasty - I've had them before where the bugger was just not very flavorful, so I was surprised that this was one of the best burgers I can remember having.

Our group enjoyed sitting at the Silver Dollar Bar, located in the Wort Hotel, visiting with the bartender and locals one afternoon before moving to a table for dinner. Our waitress was attentive and everyone seemed to like the food. I think the bar menu must offer more lighter fare than found in the Grille side. Our group mostly had various sandwiches. Our group was seated at the west end of the bar area on a small stage. A retractable movie screen was hanging at the front of the stage and our waitress and others had to be careful not to bump into it has the bottom was just about "head high".

Food was okay, portions were small. My cup of heirloom tomato soup was about 4 bites and $6, the kids menu Mac n cheese was the Kraft box kind. One small serving was $7

We ended up here after a dismal experience at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar up the street. What a difference! A fun crowd, fabulous bartenders, great drinks and food. Skip the Million and go for the Silver!

My husband and I wandered in off the street for some dinner here the other night, and sat in the grill side (more formal). We weren't expecting much, and this place was a pleasant surprise. Both wines that we had were really wonderful. My husband had the gorgonzola pasta, which was delicious, and I had the Kobe beef burger with truffle fries, which was aMAZing. Locally sourced beef, cooked to perfection. The staff was super friendly and chatted with us. Overall a great place--hidden gem.

I have to laugh. All of the reviews of the Silver Dollar Bar & Grill talk about how this place is so "touristy". Every review with the exception of one is written by someone from other than Jackson Hole. Hello!! Just like most of you, we like to ask the locals (and seasonal-locals) where to go. Whats cool, whats going on, what shouldn't we miss while we are in town for a few days. Sliver Dollar is on that list. So we went. Tuesday night, group of 8 and the bar was crowded.... so we started off in the dining room to try some local flavors. Two thumbs up on the steaks, the elk and buffalo. Prepared for our preferences, and coordinated with tasty side dishes and the like. Our waiter was very familiar with the wine list, and quick to recommend certain varietals based on our entrees ordered. After a filling dinner, we headed to the bar. With live music on tap for the evening, the locals were taking turns on the small dance floor, entertaining the tourist crowds with their two step. Even with many small tables and a big bar, we were hanging in the over crowded standing room only for the rest of the evening. Fun times. My recommendation if you're a tourist and not down with doing "touristy" things... ask the locals where they hang out.

We were hungry after a day in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, so we walked around Jackson Hole along the quaint boarded sidewalks. A store clerk recommended this place, so we went for it. We decided to eat on the bar side instead of the restaurant side, because the former had a livelier atmosphere and they serve both menus anyway. One of the draught beers was Mighty Bison Brown Ale ($3.77). It wasn't particularly memorable, but it was cheap, local, and how can you not want to try something with a name like that! The CORN CHOWDER ($6.50) is their signature appetizer, as it was apparently featured in an issue of Bon Appetit at some point. I must agree that it was a hearty, filling, tasty corn chowder, largely due to the bold presence of bacon. It was certainly rich, but the creamy thickness was nice, not clumpy. The croutons were chewy (could be more toasted) and the melted chedder top was a nice touch, but cheddar isn't particularly tasty. Overall, I liked it! The GAME BRUSCHETTA ($12.00) was surprisingly good. Didn't know what to expect, other than "bison." It turned out to be thinly sliced seared rare bison meat (sort of like beef tataki), with a pepper crust (a bit too peppery). Accompanying the meat on a plate were toasted baguette slices, sour cream, and huckleberry relish. I wasn't a fan of the relish on its own, but it paired up very nicely with everything else. I was particularly pleased with this dish because, having had several dry bison burgers, this made me rethink my attitude towards bison meat. Served rare, the lean meat melted in my mouth. The only change I would make to this dish would be to have a bit less pepper and a touch of sea salt. The ELK BURGER ($18.00) from the restaurant menu was a big disappointment. It was certainly a big patty, but there was no significant taste to it, other than a meatiness that was definitely not beef. The parmesan buns weren't particularly tasty and the layer of brie was somewhat distracting. So, while we felt satisfied overall with our meal, we would ideally give this place 3.5 stars, but not only because of the bland burger; it turns out their onion rings are not freshly fried, but are from frozen, resulting in a batter that is overly greasy and onions that are too mushy.

Stopped here for lunch with a large group, and the overall experience was pretty good. They have an average sized lunch menu, with soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. I had the baked onion soup, which is coated in a deep layer of cheese; it was great! Then came a turkey reuben on marbled rye, which was also good but the sauerkraut was on the salty side. The fries were over-battered; tasted like frozen fries from the grocery store. Service was pretty bad too. I had to ask a few time for water refills, and the waitress was unfriendly. The bar and grill itself has a lot of history, which I'm sure draws patrons in for a look. But the service really needs to be improved if they want to keep folks coming back...

Good bar food. Waaaaaayyyyyy way way too many loud big screen TV's that ruin the atmosphere (they'd get 4 or 5 stars if this was different). But often there is great live music although the acoustics aren't that good. Worth going to in order to see the fun bar with a ton of silver dollars in the top.

When the season is almost over and 90% of Jackson has closed down for the month of April (?!), it's nice to know there are still some staples open to feed those in need of a delicious mid-day meal. Silver Dollar Bar & Grill has some pretty tasty food, including about the best bowl of corn chowder I've ever had (served french-onion style, with cheddar melted and floating atop a bed of croutons on top) and some ale-battered onion rings where you could actually taste the thick hearty beer flavor in every bite. Both of these apps were really killer. The Stetson Cobb salad was also a great one, served in a hilariously large bowl and overflowing with fresh tasty cheddar, turkey, ham, tomatoes and hard boiled egg. My only complaint? The Silver Dollars that are laminated into the bar are fake! Either that or they acquired about 1,000 of them that were ALL from 1921. A little too suspicious for me.

This review is for the restaraunt side of the Silver Dollar Bar & Grill at the Wort Hotel. The food was amazing! Started with the cheese plate appetizer. It paired nicely with the Chardonnay we brought in with us (corkage fee $10). I then had the almond crusted rainbow trout. It exceeded my high expectations! It was served with a potato hash and glazed carrots. Cooked perfectly. I finished with the creme brulee. So goood! Our server was very professional and friendly. It was a very relaxing, enjoyable dinner in a beautiful setting. I will be coming here again.

Well, I'm a tourist so I enjoyed this "I'm a skier/snowboarder but look I'm not wearing my layered clothing anymore, I put on this cool shirt instead" tourist-y bar. The place was jammed packed. We literally took the last 2 seats available. The waitress always had our drinks filled (how she managed this, I bow my head down to her). The history lessons on the walls by the bathroom were great reading material, so were the Mae West quotes in the female bathroom. I really wanted to know what the boy's room was like, but I wasn't drunk enough to sneek in. I was sort of shocked to read other's reviews to find out that this is not for the under 30 crowd. *Gasp* Shit, I felt right at home in my age group. *Grimace* Oh yeah, I just turned 30 (again). So I guess they're right. Touristy-over-30-skier-bar. Nailed it!

Giving this 4 stars for what it is - a nice little bar with tasty bar food. We stopped in for lunch - a burger and a beer with the added bonus of some local history. we had buffalo burgers (yum) with onion rings (just okay) and sweet potato fries (yum again). Service at the bar was slow but who's in a hurry in Jackson? Great spot for families too though not sure that's the case at night.

Our trip from DC to WY was like, 18 hours long (or at least it felt that way), and my colleague and I are both starving by the time we sat down (collapsed) in the Silverdollar Bar in the Wort Hotel, so really anything would have done the trick at that point. It was about 3pm, so it wasn't really the lunch crowd or dinner crowd, but about half the tables were full. This seems to be a popular place for locals and for the ski crowd. Typical bar food, except for maybe some regional additions. I had the Elk Gyro, which was...interesting. The elk seemed cooked properly, although I don't really have any experience with elk. The Gyro was a bit dry, in that it needed some more cucumber sauce. The Bar was a happening place at night, and they have live Bluegrass on Tuesday nights.

While Jackson has an abundance of bland tourist friendly restaurants, they seem a little thin on quality family friendly restaurants. We found the Silver Dollar on Yelp and were okay with a 3.5 star rating. The decor is fitting in the dining room but the service and quality of food were a very pleasant surprise. I had the Kobe burger and it was outstanding, even at $17. My wife had an amazing corn chowder soup and salad. The kids' chicken nuggets were made of breast meat. Some of the best food I've had in Jackson, particularly being in the tourist hub part of town.

Nice restaurant with a good selection of WY style foods. We had trout, lamb and bison and it was all tasty and perfectly cooked. Our friendly waiter completed this very nice dinner experience. Definitely worth coming back! The drinks in the next door bar are good, generous pours and the ambiance is great!

Acceptable but didn't live up to reviews. The wait staff was confused over who served our table. Minor thing but perhaps a harbinger of what was to come. Our waitress had a group table to serve and our table, so she was not as attentive as she should have been. We order salad (caesar and mixed), soup (corn chowder and minestrone) and "Kobe" tenderloin. No dessert since we'd been eating too much on vacation! The salad was a bit limp, as if they had prepared the lettuces and left them out. Definitely missed some of the crunch in both salads. My wife liked the corn chowder - they are famous for this. It comes in a decent but not huge sized bowl. But the serving size is significant and it can dull the appetite for the main course. The minestrone was acceptable, but I thought the broth could use a bit more tomato flavor and they could have cut back a bit on the salt. We were served our salad first, then soup, per our request. There was a longer than expected delay getting the soups (my wife wondered if they were planting the corn). Unfortunately this was a trend in our dining experience. Our main course followed the soup course by at least 20 minutes, maybe more - people next to us were seated, ordered, ate and left while we were dining. The "Kobe" was Wagyu, which is the breed for Kobe, but not Kobe quality (I've eaten Kobe in Japan). I'd say this was closer to regular prime quality beef than "Kobe." The waitress said it could be cut with a fork - it was tender, but not that tender. It was cooked properly and tasted fine. This restaurant liked to stack it's food - steak on top of purple mashed potatoes with green beans and carrots with truffle oil. Not my favorite presentation because you really can't cut a steak sitting on a pile of mashed potatoes. The potatoes were good, seasoned appropriately, and not gluey. Carrots and beans crunchy - I like them a bit more cooked but not soft, but restaurants seem to cook all vegetables crunchy these days. I've discovered I'm not a big fan of truffle oil. I'm sure their oil was fine but it's not a taste I prefer. Of the three restaurants we ate at in Jackson (Cadillac Grille, Garage, Silver Dollar), this is the one I would not return to.

Nim wit. It's the word of the night! We couldn't quite figure out why the long wait, or their stupid seating system. When we got there, there was a table on the patio leaving and the people inside were waiting for a table were parties waiting for inside dining. (NIMWITs--it was a beautiful night, why dine in?) Within 10 min. there were 6 outside tables available, and the 2 NIMWITS at the hostess stand were just standing around Talking about seating people, we were the only ones waiting for an outside table and STILL she told us it would be a few more minutes. We waited the interminable wait (yeah, by this time we were the NIMWITS) while they seated 3 ladies who came out from inside the bar. Still 5 tables available.....Why did we wait? I guess we were as stubborn as they are stupid. We finally ordered the House famous Corn Chowder, and Trout and Artichoke dip/spread--proportioned well with toasted flatbread. both were well worth it, (except for the bad flavor left by the long wait). The service was ok, it made things tolerable. And he gave me just a few more pieces of flatbread for my dip without charge. Again I skipped dessert (--alert alert! something MUST be wrong) We thought about inquiring about their seating system, but nixed the idea and tried to focus on the gorgeous weather and our last night in Jackson. As we left, the far table was occupied by a lone diner and his cute little golden retriever. The dog sat at attention, nose to the table, waiting paitently, patiently, patiently for that one little morsel of food that was yet to come.....I wondered if her name was NIMWIT.

Mmm...those Elk Chops were delicious. Tender and perfectly cooked atop quinoa and accompanied by carrots and broccolini. The glass of Cabernet complimented it well. Bison filet was very flavorful also. Ribeye paled in comparison in flavor and quality to the game meat. Kids are welcome but the price and atmosphere aren't really kid friendly. Stuffy, serious wait staff but my water glass was always full. Our waitress wasn't very helpful with recommendations. They do have a separate bar area that appears to be a more casual atmosphere and looks like they serve food in there too.

Went in with high expectations for dinner. That was based on the other meals we have had around downtown Jackson Hole. You walk in and have the choice of sitting in the bar and grill or the restaurant. We choose the bar and grill because it had more people and sports on the tv's. I ordered the Rib Eye for $28. This is one of the worst steaks I have ever had. Not just in Jackson Hole but in general. To the Silverdollar's credit the others in my group enjoyed their meals which included the Elk Burger and the New York Strip. I would rate the service average at best being it took our server over 10 minutes even to great us and offer drinks. The one bright spot of the meal with the bartender made great cocktails! Only reason I would come back.

After walking around jackson to find a good place to have our last dinner on my trip, we ended up here at the silverdollar. The food i thought was very tasty. I had kobe ny strip done medium rare with steamed carrots and roasted garilc mac & cheese, my friend had the 3/4 lbs buffalo burger with fries. My steak was cook very nice had a lot of flavor and was tender and juicey. The mac & cheese was amazing cause it was the first time ive had mac & cheese with roasted garlic. My friend with the buffalo burger said it was very tasty and juicy. He like the juice so much he cleaned the place by soaking all the juice with his fries. The service was good but we didnt get our predinner bread no more than 2 mins before we got our entrees. My glass was never empty and he came and checked on use regullary. I definatly will go back the next time i come to jackson hole.

Buffalo burger ordered medium and cooked to perfection. Disappointed though that the burger did not come with the promised "red pepper mayonaise" - just plain mayo. I should have said something, but was too tired to care (we have been traveling for about a week now). Their home-made potato salad was just ok, a bit dry and bitter tasting. My hub's silver dollar burger & fries was a winner for him. Nice place to visit with decent food for lunch, but nothing to get too excited about.

We have eaten dinner at the Wort Hotel/Silver Dollar Bar and Grill several times over the last few years and every time has been a pretty solid experience. On weekends in the winter they usually have a live band and I am sure that they have a band during the summer season as well. Often people come in to dance after dinner and that is usually an interesting/fun thing to watch. Of the different meals that we have ordered there have been very good, the French onion soup is one of the top 5 that I have had, and the pheasant soup is also very good. The service has always been good when we have went, and the hotel in general has some interesting history as a gaming house in old time Jackson. Worth walking around and reading about for a bit if you get the chance.

Did not get food here.. we just walked by and got several drinks outside service was good, although it was strange how they won't serve you for certain hours and we were literally kicked out from the patio because they have to close it for several hours at 5pm(we were just drinking beer) not a bad place to check out but not a destination place

It may be touristy but it is very interesting! We are on a National Parks Tour and are staying at Jackson Hole for 3 nights. What a fabulous town!!! We ate here in the grill side. I had shrimp ceviche (not too good; they dont seem to know how to make it). But, I also had the Wort Corn Chowder which was very rich and had a nice taste., My husband had the bison steak filet with potatoes and carrots. It was delicious. The bread for the table was also delicious, we had a nice wine (7 Deadly Zins) and had a very attentive waitress. We went over to the bar to watch the band which was also very good. The waitress told us that the 2,032 silver dollars from 1921 were found buried when they were building the bar in I think 1941. So, they put them in all the tables! Can you imagine how much they are worth now?? Anyway, if you do go, look at the art and history posted all around. Movie posters, bison head, moose hear, elk head. Very interesting.

My wife and I ate at the restaurant. A little pricy, but the food was amazing. My wife got the short ribs. They were so tender it only required a fork to eat. I got the wild boar with sweet potato hash. I've never had anything like it. So good.

My wife and I went here tonight for dinner because they had nice hot ciabatta bread and butter and we wanted to try a buffalo burger while in Jackson. We decided on the buffalo burger and elk sausage appetizer. We ordered the buffalo burger well done, which came out medium - well but was still tasty. The meat was deliciously flavored and juicy, we were very satisfied. The elk sausage was absolutely phenomenal and succeeded our wary expectations of such meat. It was very lean and flavorful. Overall the service was prompt and friendly. They even let us order from the bar menu while we sat in the main restaurant (slightly less expensive and different choices). Great experience, lovely north western atmosphere and extremely inexpensive for Jackson.

If you want the real WY bar experience, this is the place. Cowboy hats, bolo ties, stiff whiskey drinks, and a country music cover band. The menu is what you would expect: Buffalo, Venison, Salmon, trout, etc so if you're a vegetarian, like me, it's probably not your place to eat. Everyone was very friendly, including the locals, and they didn't mind a couple of city slickers singing along to Johnny Cash songs. Yeeehaaaawww!

This is the place you walk into because someone told you that you have to go here. It is tourist season at its finest. That said, it is really cool tourist trap land in here. The bar is inlaid with silver dollars, the walls are decorated much like I would the buffalo Bill's wild west show would have set it up. Coming in and ordering a burger and beer is a good idea just for the fun experience. Everyone in here is here for the good time and a laugh. The staff is well aware who the clientele are and play it up a little bit, while at the same time being very attentive and professional. The gift shop, of course there is a gift shop, is as fun as the bar. I still have my little portable ashtray from here and I have never even smoked. The food is good, the prices are not to high, and the experience will leave you with a smile and stories you and your friends can share. Just ignore the tourist stigma and enjoy this place.

Were only in Jackson for 1 night, so sad I know...but we decided to eat dinner here and were not disappointed. Great quality meat, great selection on the menu, I couldn't decide..and very recognizable and good wine list...would go back if in town for more than one evening...

It looked like a really cool venue. But I was constantly pushed out of the way of the bar by other patrons. The place was full(all the tables were taken) but not overly crowed at all(a few seats were left at the bar). I probably would've have stayed longer if I hadn't been ran into, pushed around and overlooked at the bar. Maybe it would've been different at a table but to be treated like that by other patrons was enough to turn me off.

This is a very nice restaurant in downtown Jackson. It's part of the Wort Hotel and also has a separate bar area on the other side of the building. If you're looking for a nice, classy, substantial meal, I highly recommend here. The corn chowder is delicious and the bison steaks are awesome.

Even though it looks very touristy on the outside I took my kids here last night for dinner downstairs in the dining room and it was really quite good! I had the "baseball cut" steak and it was awesome. The kids ordered root beer and they brought out bottles of a local micro brew root beer that was the best any of us had ever tasted!. Also the dinner salad with the little crunchy fried onion strips and bacon was quite tasty. Service was solid and quick.

After walking around town, I notice this building and it look pretty nice from the outside and I could only see a W hotel and it look nice and fancy so I stop by here before started to head back and walk in to look at the menu. They have 2 sided restaurant, 1 for bar and grill and one was more upscale but I couldn't decided which one I wanted to go in but the bar and grill has tons of people and the upscale one didn't have anyone LOL so after looking at the menu and people, I decided to go in the bar and grill. The bartender was nice but alittle slow maybe it is just jackson hole. I order another different local beer but I don't remember the name of it plus I order the elk gyros place w/onion rings for $1 more for a upgrade. The food came out and the onion rings was soggy, how can mess up on frying onion rings??? anyway the gyros was ok but u mostly tasted the cucumber yogurt sauce and u barely can tasted any elk or they somehow over seasoning the elk so it doesn't have that game meat feeling, very disappointed. I asked the bartender which restaurant is good in town and he name a couple of places that the waitress told me about already and I asked him what does he think of Amangani(where I work at just curious) hehe he say he never eaten there but have gone there and say it is the best place to stay in the town and the most expensive plus anything that expensive, the food has to be good. After finishing my meal, I wanted to go try more places

Loved it! Good food and drink and good live bands playing. We stayed in the Wort Hotel, the Silver Dollar is in the hotel, so we ate there a lot. We could go anywhere and did but The Silver dollar was so good! Favorites were the corn chowder and French onion soup! But all the things we had were good!

Was so packed with the US Olympic men's hockey game that we couldn't find a seat. Bar was not all that exciting, I saw the silver dollars inlayed in the bar counter, but there was nothing else to see here. I don't see what the fascination with the place is, maybe they had some drink deal going or something.

My wife and I went to the grill for a nice dinner our last night in Jackson. For the record this was the grill at the hotel not the bar. We each ordered a filet, mine was buffalo and her's was beef. We ordered them medium, they came out rare. I sent mine back while my wife tried to tough it out. Mine came back and it was still rare/medium rare. WTF? This is a beef town. To under cook an expensive piece of meat that badly is a rookie mistake. My wife couldn't finish her meal. I would have expected them to comp one of our meals. We were so disappointed. I would not go back again.

Definately something of a tourist destination, and also clearly the local hangout spot for the over-30 crowd. But there's a nice big bar, plenty of seating, and it's a very chill location. Cool, old-west-style ambiance, and they've got live music a few nights a week too. But if you're under 30, I recommend going elsewhere.

Another touristy stop on your tour de Jackson Hole. The bar is embedded with over 2,000 silver dollars. Cocktails are affordable, scene is somewhat lacking.

If you are visiting the town of Jackson Hole, The Silverdollar Bar is a great tourist spot. The four stars is for the restaurant providing history while you are in the women's restroom stall. The night I dined there, they had a 6 piece band playing. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food was pretty good. If you are looking for a hip place with a young crowd, you may want to consider a different bar.

Tourist place, stopped in for lunch just after ski season ended. Food was fine, had a nice selection of game meat along with a half pound burger, all for a reasonable price.

Touristy, but the do have some good food items on the menu. Was a decent lunch choice I reckon and the waitress was extremely helpful in choosing menu items and making sure our beer glasses never reached emppy.

only place I chatted with locals - sit at the bar - for $1, you can shake a can of 5 dice, if four come out the same, free drink - if five come out the same, you win the pot! the bartender said that the day before a guy had won $3K! they lost a di when I played but the bartender gave us free drinks anyhow, five stars for free drinks!

Holy snap! This place is the ORIGINAL silver dollar! There are thousands of old Morgan silver dollars embedded in the walls and counter tops of this place and it's a true cowboy bar. It's gotten a little tourist-friendly over the years but you can always catch a great cowboys vs. bikers bar fight here and experience the true Jackson Hole!
