This restaurant is a great "local" restaurant (aka not super touristy). It has a very rustic log cabin feel inside. Staff was very friendly and attentive (even for running on Wyoming time- which usually results in slow service but that's just something you need to adjust to when visiting the state). We ate here for lunch on a Thursday. We ordered the Buffalo Sloppy Joe and the Double Stacked Bacon Cheddar Elk Burger. And for the side we chose soups over salads. I had the Peaches and Cream soup which is a cold purée soup that tasted more like a smoothie/dessert. But it was very good! And the other soup was Andoullie, Bacon and Bean Soup, which we enjoyed as well. It had the ingredients listed in its name in a type of broth. The sloppy joe was tasty and had a bit of a spice to it. The elk burger was HUGE! Took a minute to figure out how to eat it, which you knew would get messy no matter how you are it. It came with some type Anjou sauce to dip the burger in. The burger contained to elk patties one was more cooked than the other. We prefer a more medium/medium rare patty and found the one cooked that way to be more flavorful. The well-cooked patty was not as juicy and lacked flavor, but overall we still enjoyed the sand which as a whole! This is a good restaurant if you're looking for a true Wyoming dinning experience and not just a touristy place.

One of my favorite spots for lunch! Got the blackened salmon salad! It was perfect. Great/friendly service. Heather was her name. We will be back.

Great spot for outdoor eating. Excellent selection of salads and yummy sandwiches. We both had the Crab Melt today and really enjoyed it. Our waters were refilled regularly, and although we got there pretty soon after they opened had our orders filled really quickly. Super reasonably priced.

Food was inedible. Service was average. The waitress told us they'd recently gotten a new chef, and that was clear. The sweet potatoes & green beans seemed canned and the cajun pasta tasted like taco seasoning + alfredo sauce. Truly terrible.

The restaurant is very nice and welcoming. The owner is really nice and service was good. The Elk osso buco was amazing!!! Unfortunately, everybody else in my party was disappointed by the over cooked steaks and bad pasta.

My boyfriend and I came here during the off-season for a business trip, and the hotel manager recommended this place. We were absolutely thrilled at the buy-one get-one entree deal they were having, so of course we ordered more than we could handle. He ordered the elk burger; which comes with two enormous patties, four slices of bacon, and I don't even remember HOW much cheddar cheese (we ended up splitting it); and I ordered the buffalo chili (which we also split, even though it was so good that I didn't want to share). We also ordered the catfish popcorn appetizer, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and didn't taste dirty as catfish is wont. The food was just excellent, and we ended up taking most of it home. The service and decor were really nice; the servers were attentive, while the decor was rustic in a way that only one-horse towns can be. Would highly recommend.

I went here a few days ago with a large group. I'll start by saying that the food was pretty average. Why the one star rating, then? It all boils down to customer service. I was really disappointed by the attitudes of the servers, and service was VERY slow. I don't think they can adequately handle a full house. The waitress snapped at me when I asked when my daughter's plate would be ready.

Wonderful spot for lunch! The outside picnic tables are fabulous making for a great atmosphere. Food and service were phenomenal! We never had an empty water thanks to the bussers walking around and refilling. And our server, heather, was a delight!

We had the most pleasant meal. This restaurant captured the essence if Jackson. Simple, casual atmosphere. Our waiter looked like he spent the morning ranching and I had the most amazing mustard tenderloin with green chili Mac! My hubby got elk ossobucco. It melted in our mouth! Great wine list, beer selection and they had a kids menu!!! The night before we are somewhere else at a table next to Sandra Bullock and Chelsea Handler, and I would've preferred the time at Sweetwater. That says a lot!

I had the Blackened Salmon Salad. Oh my goodness! I think it was the best salad that I have ever had. Now, I don't usually get worked up over a salad, but it was THAT good. I just about licked my plate. All other salads will have now have to live up to this one. The atmosphere in the cabin was super cozy with eclectic furnishings and placemats. It was kinda loud inside and a little tight, but it was raining outside so everyone was seeking shelter. This wasn't a big deal for me. I am so happy that we stopped in and can't wait to come back!

Had an incredible time at this restaurant! The people were amazing. Everyone was so friendly and engaging. This restaurant epitomizes what I really enjoy about the social and dining aspects of Jackson Hole.

Oh my! I might just pay the thousands of dollars of airline fares to fly back to Jackson Hole just so I can eat at Sweetwater again. The service and the food were THAT good. It's a very nice rustic little log cabin with wood tables and chairs, linen placemats and napkins. They serve drinks in jars like you would buy fruit preserves. I had a hard time choosing off the menu, so I asked our waiter for a recommendation. His favorite was the pork tenderloin and green chili mac and cheese, so I went for it. It was HEAVENLY. I would have picked up the plate and licked it if my wife wouldn't have slapped me upside the head. My wife had the ribeye steak with an EXCELLENT chimichurri sauce. She also loved their sangria. They serve local brew - the Snake River Lager was excellent, and their bottle root beer that my kids had was pretty tasty, too.

Our recent experience at Sweetwaters was memorable but not for the right reasons. The biggest complaint would be the wait staff. Our waiter seemed very confused about what he was doing and to be honest I am not even sure he was actually a waiter or someone who was helping out for the night. As we walked in the nightly special board mentioned a pan seared Mahi Mahi dish. The waiter insisted that was a mistake and it was supposed to be Halibut. When we questioned the waiter on his second visit to the table he then said that it was a pan seared Mahi Mahi. My draft beer arrived at the table only 3/4 full. Our entrees where not bad but certainly not anything special either and in fact if we we weren't there during the off season special of 2 for 1 entrees I would have been very disappointed with the food. The blackened Tilapia was over seasoned. The trout was OK and the southwest chicken linguine was a good portion but only a slight southwest flavor and too much oil. Our original waiter disappeared half way through our dinner and we had to flag down another server to get to get our check. Overall I could not recommend this restaurant.

Love the cozy atmosphere & the down-home menu. Whether it's a cold day & you're seated by the wood burning stove or a hot summer day on the deck, there's something that will hit the spot. Good quality. Nice home baked breads.

Elk burgers!!! So good - came here on Labor Day with party of six...sat outside for a late lunch and had 3 elk burgers, 2 blackened salmon salads and a chicken salad Wyomato. Service was quick and quite friendly - food was amazing and the view of Snow King was so pretty. A great finish to a wonderful holiday weekend in Jackson.

My husband's roast beef sandwich and salad were very good. My BLT was ok with a big piece of wilted semi-dirty lettuce slapped on top. Service was slow and we were seated next to the bussing station where the clanking plates and glasses made me wince. We were greeted warmly and the deck is nice, but overall a disappointment.

Attentive service, pleasant atmosphere, & excellent food. I started with a cup of the smoked bacon and bean soup. I then enjoyed succulent pork tenderloin with a Jack Daniels au jus, green chili macaroni and cheese, and cheese grits. So delicious! For dessert, the bourbon pecan pie was fantastic! I can't believe this place only received 3.5 stars on average as our dining experience was 5 stars all the way!

Visiting Jackson and we found this gem. We walked to the Sweetwater and were pleasantly surprised. My teen boys both got the 16 oz elk burger and were very pleased. One finished it - struggling to do so and the other did not. I got the 25 oz Ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. We were very happy with our meal and service. Highly recommend!

Buffalo T-bone steak is divine. The atmosphere is a little old school for my taste but you can't go wrong with the menu.

Rough first go round. Ordered 16 oz Ribeye med/rare and it came out barely rare, still mooing. Sent it back and it came out 6 min later well done. I do believe there are some points in between those two like med/rare, medium, med/well, any of which would have been acceptable. Also when the waiter took my steak back to have it overcooked he took my silverware with it, when I got the plate back it was with the same silverware I was using before. I thought that was odd. I know I was the one using them but when you send back a meal and get it returned to you, it's like having a fresh start, using the same silverware is not a fresh start. Lastly the knife was dull. Strike three, I'm looking somewhere else next time. I'm sure they get 95% of their orders correct, as I witnessed by my 2 eating companions meals were fine, but in my situation, not so much.

We walked into this cozy looking cabin and the owner warmly greeted us as we waited for our table. Immediately we got friendly vibe and didn't wait long at all. We had been looking for a place to get a quick salad but here we got that and much more. The greek salad was so delicious with their home dressing made of feta and garlic. I was expecting some old lettuce but the whole thing tasted amazing. The ribs were really really yummy and had cute little shoestring fries on the side. Lastly, we shared a cheesecake for desert which was really creamy and tasty. Overall great attentive service and friendly environment.

I don't get it about this place. When we left after our lunch there was a line out the front door, but for what I have no idea. My wife had the Reuben, which she said was ok. I had the elk burger and their sausage and okra soup. The burger was ok with a bun that crumbled as I ate it (man do I hate that) and the soup was luke warm!!! Combine that with a waiter who was lacking in interpersonal skills, not to mention SLOW, and you get my 2 star rating. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Well the food was just basic and okay-- however the service was the biggest disappointment. Will I recommend to out of town guests in the future. NO

Compared to the over crowded and bustling restaurants on the main drag, Sweet Water is a relaxing and enjoyable break. The log cabin ambiance and friendly staff made it a very relaxing experience after a hard day of travel and sight seeing. My wife, two children (3 & 4yrs) and I enjoyed trout, cheese grits, a tasty steak and a well stocked children's menu. One of my favorite details is the children's meals came with fruit sides by default instead of the ubiquitous fries. We will be eating here again.

A huge disappointment - my ribeye was tough and way over cooked. My wife's trout had little flavor. We did have good service, that's why I am giving them 2 stars.

Sweetwater is nestled in a historic cabin just a block off of town square. When the weather permits, enjoy dining outside on the patio. If there is inclement summer weather (and in the winter), the dining room inside provides a quaint atmosphere to enjoy your meal. The size of the kitchen prevents them from having both areas open at the same time, so if you walk into an empty restaurant and have to wait for a table, that is why! I suggest Sweetwater as a lunch spot. They have an extensive array of soups, salads, and sandwiches that are all creative and good. They have amazing homemade salad dressings (my favorite is the roasted green chile ranch) and their soups will never disappoint. On our last visit we enjoyed chilled cream of pineapple soup, I saved it for dessert! If you're really hungry, the elk melt or the buffalo sloppy joe are tasty local options you won't see everywhere. I absolutely love lunch at this cozy cabin in the winter and on the patio in the warm summer sun!

The family and I (wife and two kids aged 11 and 5) stopped in Jackson on the way back from Yellowstone. Looking for a good place to eat, we asked a local for recommendations. Sweetwater was one of the restaurants he listed. I'm so glad he did. We got there right as it opened for lunch and got a table on the patio. Wife ordered the Sonoma sandwich, I got the egg salad with pork belly sandwich, and oldest ordered a grilled cheese. The sandwiches were, in a word, amazing. Slap your mother good. Wife claims the Sonoma is in her top five sandwiches, EVER. the egg salad/pork belly was divine. Even the oldest devoured his grilled cheese. The little one, not being much of an eater ate the strawberries off my plate and the waitress then brought him his own small plate of strawberries at no additional charge. This place is outstanding.

Came here for lunch on our last day. Compared to last time I think lunch is the way to go. I had the Sonora (or Sonoma) and it was full of flavor with pesto, artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes. They have a vegan option called the napa and next time I would opt for that (unless you're in need of protein). Also had grilled chicken cheese with pepperocini.

Don't eat beef here. I ordered the special for dinner: filet mignon (medium rare) with lobster tail, mashed potatoes, and roasted tomatoes. The filet looked like a poor prime rib cut. It was falling apart and was cooked well done. I asked the waiter if it was a filet and he returned it to the chief to ask. The chief was absolutely certain that it was as he cut it himself. I took two small bites and couldn't finish it. The filet was cooked in a pan, not on a grill. The mash potatoes were edible, but not delicious. The lobster tail was small and edible. The waiter was very nice and really tried to help me enjoy dinner. He wouldn't allow me to leave without giving me a dessert. The wait staff is outstanding. I've eaten here two other times and ate anything but their meats. The garlic butter and bread is good. The pasta is alright. My companions tried the beef and they couldn't finish eating it because it was so horribly cooked. Do not eat meet here. The wait staff outstanding.

The restaurant food is OK and decor is cute with drinks in mason jars. But the highlight of the dinner was the smores dessert. Toast your own marshmallows, add graham crackers and chocolate and you are back to your old scout days. Yum!

Well, where do I start? We had, from previous experience expected a good meal and good ambiance at sweetwater. We called ahead and got a reservation, ok so far. we arrived and were seated in a little room not offered an outside table. As we were the second of four tables it was a surprise that we were seated next to the other couple in the room making the chairs collide (awkward !) So we moved to a open table to un-crowd the first couple. Then my partner noticed that the glaring $10.00 Home Depot bedroom ceiling light made her and I both look green (CFL Bulb I guessed). she nearly walked out right then. BTW so far we had not seen our server (Brandon, a personality "zero"). Upon his arrival, we were greeted with apathy and disdain , his sales and personal skills were nearly off the low end of the chart. As he was talking to us the Chef owner Eric, was seen in another room jeering him about a second plate he had evidently forgotten at another table (BTW the chef owner was in civilian clothes with his sun glasses on his head)(Really ???)....... So the bread arrives, OMG wonder bread whole wheat !!! What a surprise. The salads came next, dressings that looked chemically stabilized from a bottle, and plates that came right out of the sanitizer, HOT ! Come freakin on !!! The food was next, Halibut, supposedly on a bed of Gazpacho,i.e. long pale tomato slices with onion slices to go along with... Having made Gazpacho I was amused,,,, Then my gal tasted the fish, OH ! another 0, big fat 0, she took a bite and pushed her plate away, I took a bite and was taken back by the fact that it had no taste at all, luke warm, and quite sad..... So my dish, a soufflé of spinach and cheese, actually this dish was good, the side of zucchini was very plain and a little under done. but we shared my dish and were making sense of it all... Then Brandon appeared to find out we were not happy with the Halibut, he took it away. He did offer to bring something else and we nicely declined. As we finished sharing my soufflé, he brought the bill.... Which had the 2 bite halibut still on it.... THAT WAS IT ! I looked at the bill and said really?? you left that dish on the bill? He then began to argue with me about the halibut and said he had served it to many other guests and before the next syllable got out of his mouth I "lost it" After I sent him packing to remove the item from the bill, he returned to replace the reduced bill. Then we got a visit from Eric the Chef owner, Sun Glasses and all. He was actually quite nice, he did apologize, and took a sincere interest in our dining experience... after we spoke he picked up the tab for the remaining bill and was accommodating. Would we go back? probably not. would we forgive them? Sure. Try "The Kitchen" awesome !!!!!

I had my first ever buffalo t-bone here, and it was perfectly (not over)cooked! Also enjoyed pre dinner drinks. No room for dessert. The outdoor seating was casual and comfy, and our waiter was knowledgable and fun and just really on top of things. My dining companions loved their dinners (lamb and a ribeye). No complaints! I'd return for sure.

My wife and I ate lunch here based on the yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. I had an elk sandwich with au jus. Great flavor. Flavorful but not gamey. My wife had three different salads: chicken, tuna, and hummus. All were good. Good lunch stop.

I was hesitant to try this place put after reading some bad reviews on Yelp, but one in our party really wanted to try it. From walking in the place, I was pleasantly surprised starting with the charming ambience of the real log cabin. Our party of 4 was seated near another happy 4-some that was finishing their dinner with real s'mores that they were making at their table. Our dinner started with fresh green salads with in-house made dressings that were very yummy and creative. Also served was in-house made whole wheat bread with whipped honey butter. For dinner, steaks seemed to be the ticket with the standout at our table being the buffalo t-bone. It's a must try for meat lovers - so flavorful! The sides were delicious too - from the Idaho baked potato to the green chile mac n'cheese and whipped sweet potatoes. Our server gave us very attentive and informative service. Overall, it has a real downhome feel with true Jackson Hole history in the walls.

My favorite lunch spot in town. Not your everyday food-there is some unique ideas. Service is usually quick but they can be busy. The garlic herb feta dressing is amazing, they have good half and halfs (lemonade/iced tea) and cozy, authentic atmosphere. Portions are hearty and I have liked everything I have had.

Food was good, but the service unacceptable. Our waiter didn't know the menu and only came by the table twice. He frequented the table next ours several times without even glancing at us. Restaurant wasn't even busy I might add. There was no excuse for service being as bad as it was. Will not be going back to this eatery again.

My friend and I enjoyed lunch here on a frigid day in Jackson last month. We both tried a different soup, mine was the soup of the day which was an awesome chicken and artichoke, and my friend enjoyed the chili. I had a fabulous roast beef sandwich, the Cowboy with creamy horseradish sauce and my friend enjoyed the Elk Melt which was amazing. Loved the Au Jus! The sweetwater swee tea vodka was also delicious! Must go! Great ambiance and food.

I am giving this restaurant three stars and I'm being kind based on the service, not the food. The staff was friendly and our server was a nice guy. I was looking for a mid-priced restaurant where we could get a good steak. I checked the menu here and they have two steaks, and that night the special was a skirt steak in a barbeque sauce glaze...perfect...or so I thought. We were seated outside and it was a beautiful evening. The table was a little more rustic than I expected, but I grew up in Wyoming so it wasn't a deal breaker, but backs on the benches would be nice. Many items on the menu sounded good but I was determined to have a steak in Wyoming so I was torn between the rib-eye and the 10 oz buffalo. My server suggested the buffalo but said that it gets chewy if cooked past medium. No problem for me since I'm a medium-rare gal. My husband ordered the special and I ordered the buffalo steak, both of us got a side of the green chile mac and cheese. When our orders arrived, my husband's skirt steak looked awful. It was a tiny overcooked piece of meat slathered in barbeque sauce, not lightly glazed as had been described. My buffalo was so fatty that I could barely cut it and I had to spit out three consecutive pieces because I couldn't chew through the fat. Also, it had absolutely no flavor, none. I have never sent back a meal before but I had to send this one back. I wasn't going to spend $30 for a flavorless piece of chewy fat. I ordered the trout as a replacement and it was pretty good...nothing that would make me return in a hurry, but much better than our other two choices. The chile mac was decent but all in all, the food tasted like something I could get at Applebees for half the price. We spent $63.00 for two meals and a side of sweet potatoes. I would have been happy to pay that or more had the food been halfway decent. The server comped our glass of wine and beer, the very least he could do, and we left without even considering dessert.

Very good food and great service. My husband had the pork tenderloin which he liked and I had the trout which I loved with a side of the mac and cheese which did not disappoint. I had never had lake trout before served that fresh and I was surprised to see it was pink! I thought they had made a mistake and served me the salmon but our excellent server Will explained the reason for the color. We loved the Fried Green Wyomatoes too. And of course we always wash our meals down with a good glass of wine which can be hard to find in some restaurants, but not here. I will definitely come back again when I'm in the lovely city of Jackson, Wyoming.

Once you see more than one table send back the food that they ordered, you know you're in for a treat. Normally I don't review a place unless they're really bad or really good. Unfortunately or this place, it was a really bad experience. My wife received mystery meat on her sandwich. She ordered chicken but received some other type of meat, it didn't look like beef either.

    - I think this restaurant is a bit overrated - We came here after recommendation from our hotel - When we got there around 6pm, they were already out of two of their main entrees. It was disappointing to hear this since it was so early in the evening. Als

Purchased a gift certificate over the phone for a very good client as a birthday gift. I was advised they prefer to hold the GC in house rather than mail it. Recipient went in for lunch 2 months later and they had no record of it and did nothing to try to find it. I called owner/manager Trey Davis to inquire, who (in his best "I'm a redneck and I don't give a shit" voice) said they did in fact find it but that the mishap was fully the recipients fault for waiting 4 months to pick it up. I corrected him with the correct date- it had been 2 months- to which he said "not my problem." Complete shithead, and I bet the food is as smelly as the owner.

I came here on a recent trip to Jackson and was pretty happy with the experience. We went first for lunch and both had a crab melt - it was delicious and did not skimp on the crab! It came with a side salad that came with some interesting dressings - I got the feta and herb and he got some sort of green chili ranch, both tasty. For lunch, the service was definitely lacking, it seemed like our server was running the entire floor by herself so we were patient, they could have used a 2nd server on the floor for sure. We went back for dinner and the dinner selections were a little less exciting, I got the trout with a cauliflower au gratin, it was good, not sensational. He got the Salmon over fett alfredo - the salmon was tasty but the alfredo was tasteless. Our server was really nice and very attentive - it was a nice evening but I would recommend the lunch menu over the dinner menu - it's a lot cheaper too!

Terrible food and terrible service. My friend had the Wild West Chili. It was no more than browned buffalo and onion with 4 different cans of beans, forget the "zesty spices". They were none existent and thus it had no flavor. The corn biscuit was the only good part of that meal. I had the Blackened Salmon Alfredo with the Creamed Zucchini Soup. The soup was hardly a cream of anything. It was a milk based broth with nothing in it and no flavor. The piece of salmon was small and that is an understatement. The Alfredo was more like low fat milk over fettuccini with NO garlic, which was listed on the menu. Service - forgotten - TERRIBLE. We were in a room off to the side with one other couple. They complained about being ignored (they were there before we were) and received one complimentary entrée after being told that the waiter was held up by someone in the main dining room. The maître d' should have handled this so that the "hold up" did not happen. I wanted to say something but instead we just left an "appropriate" tip. This was one of a very few times that we have not tipped generously.

We have been going here about twice a month for the last couple of years. It is our go to restaurant in Jackson and we always bring out-of-town guests when they visit. The food has never been anything other than delicious. Our kids (and us) are in love with the macaroni and cheese, so creamy! I also suggest the Greek salad with the housemade Feta-Herb dressing. Sweetwater's is the perfect, cozy place for a family outing or a romantic date in the evening when the lights are low.

This place was fantastic. The atmosphere in the log cabin with the dim lighting, mason jar glasses, and cozy rooms was just great. We really were hoping to get the elk melts that everyone raves about, and were disappointed that they were only on the lunch menu, when we were there for dinner. When the chef/owner found out we had come for the elk melts, he made them for us anyway! So nice of him. Our waitress Yvonne was very nice and took good care of us. Everything we had was delicious. The elk melts were massive and tasty, and I wanted to bottle the jus and take it home because it just smelled and tasted so amazing. Our salads came with homemade green chile ranch dressing, which was incredible. We had the fried green Wyomatoes as a starter, and I think I could have eaten 10 servings, they were just amazing. Definitely the best thing we had. I would have liked dessert, but I couldn't even finish my elk'wich, it was so huge! I was very full and happy. I don't usually do this, but I wanted to address Brad K. who left a review on 9/17/12, only 3 days before I dined at Sweetwater. Dude, what is your problem? Sure, it sounds like your waiter wasn't the best, but some of your complaints are just ridiculous. The bread, first of all, was definitely baked in-house. It was great, and didn't taste or look anything like wonder bread. Same with the dressing; obviously homemade. You think it "looked chemically stabilized?" Maybe I just am not a salad dressing scientist like yourself, but it tasted delicious and homemade to me, and that's all I cared about. Now for the crazy stuff. Personally, I found the lighting to be nice, but I can understand if you didn't like it much yourself. I don't really know how I was in a lovely dim room and you had a CFL, but either way, how is a CFL that bothersome? Your girlfriend was ready to walk out because she didn't like how the light made her look?! What a charmer. And you were upset that the chef/owner (whose name is Trey, not Eric, FYI) was wearing "civilian clothes?" You're making yourself sound like a snob. It's Jackson. It's an awesome, laid-back place. If you wanted a maître d' in a tuxedo, maybe you shouldn't have chosen to eat in a rustic log cabin.

While visiting last week my party asked a bunch of locals what a good lunch spot would be. 5 people recommended this place so we took their word for it and headed over. They were able to accommodate our party of 8 really easily and we got a great table outside. Things I loved: Their Green Chile Ranch (yummm!), they serve delicious local sodas and beers, their cold soup special: Pineapple and Cinnamon (tasted like pineapple applesauce), they had great service, and they also serve buffalo and elk (which I thought was cool) Things I didn't love: None of the food really wowed me. It was all just ok. I had nibbles of multiple people's food and none of it blew my socks off. I'd probably go back again because of all the things that I did like and give it another shot. Just not great.

One of my favorite lunch spots in the summertime! I've been coming to Sweetwater for as long as I can remember. As a kid my mother would take me here for a special lunch - just the two of us and I remember loving that they serve their sodas in mason jars. The deck is a great spot, but indoors is cozy and wonderful as well. I love "The Blue One" - chicken, lots of bleu cheese, toasted walnuts, it's always a favorite of mine...and it's HUGE! I also love the side salads and their dressing options are always very tasty and so fresh. When tourists ask about a lunch spot this is definitely one of my top 3 recommendations. The service is always pretty good, although there can be a wait to get seated in the summer. Dinner on the other hand, for me personally, is a little too expensive for my dining budget. But for a spluge...why not? I have yet to try the s'mores dessert, but some day!

I hear the food is good. I wouldn't know, the chubby hostess was so rude that I got up and left before even being acknowledged by a waitress. I actually felt like she was annoyed that I had the gall to want a seat in her restaurant. I walked in and stood in front of the hostess station. She couldn't be bothered to look up from what she was doing. I said hello, she ignored. I waited a few moments. Again, I said hello. Without bothering to look up from her paper, she rolled her eyes and said "just a minute." I should have walked out right there, but I let her equally rude coworker seat me and my date. She didn't say a word. At no point was anyone welcoming My date and I waited a minute or two before deciding we didn't want to have dinner at an establishment that made us feel so unwelcome, so we got up and left. At no point as we walked to the door did anyone bother to ask us if something was the matter, although they did see that we were leaving. There are dozens of dining options in Jackson. My date and I found a wonderful alternative two blocks away where we were welcomed from the moment we walked in.

I have sworn a blood oath (with myself) to only write reviews for spots that I think deserve five stars. Sweetwater is one of them from recent memory. During our recent ski trip to JHMR, the lady and I headed in for a quick lunch before we headed home to Denver and this place was great! A fine way to introduce her to what a lot of restaurants in the area call local fare, but with clean flavors and fresh preparation. I'm a Wyoming native (Wyoming-ite? Wyoming-un?) and I know how a lot of places spin the "game" for the tourists rolling through. Having grown up on buffalo burgers and elk chili, I don't lose my sh*t when I see it on a menu. The dishes are typically too greasy or too seasoned to let the point of game shine through - freshness. Big ups for the avocado stuffed with cranberry chicken salad - kept the salad dry so that the avocado, rather than the Hellman's, could provide the creaminess. So good! I had the elk melt, just to give it a shot - the flavor and the texture were perfect. A little bit of that earthiness from the elk complemented by the mushroom and balanced by the sweetness and tang of the caramelized onion. A little au jus action, well done. The dressing with the turkey reuben stole the show away from the turkey on that plate. Russian creme with strawberries for dessert - after the relative heft of the elk melt and spice of the buffalo/elk chili, this was a perfectly light finish. Almost like a dessert and palate cleanser in one.

This place used to be really good. But maybe they were off the day I was there. Or maybe my palate has just gotten better. I had a turkey sandwich, which was alright. Nothing great. The service was ok but not fabulous. They told my mom the food didn't have garlic (she's allergic) but it did. My diet coke came with almost no ice so it was watery and room temperature. I don't think I'll head to this place again next time I'm in town.

Returned to Sweetwater for the second time this year. Together my husband and I had the Elk Melt, Avocado Crab, and the Creamy Tomato Soup. Also the NY Cheesecake with Strawberries. Delicious! My husband Elk burger was excellent, and I'd say the same for the Crab. The sandwiches are more than we can eat, so we brought them home for another meal. There was nothing left of the cheesecake after we got into it! We love the atmosphere at Sweetwater. The old log cabin, and oak furniture....add the fireplace....very rustic and charming. We highly recommend this restaurant for fresh homemade meals.

I don't know what all the negative reviewers are talking about. This place was amazing. It's tucked back in a little corner of downtown, just a tiny cabin that's been there since 1915. The servers were very nice and accommodating. They serve drinks in little mason jars, Nice touch. We actually went there twice. The first night we tried their honey cabbage soup, which is different but amazing. then I had the buffalo t bone steak which was really good and my wife had the mustard pork tenderloin and green chile Mac and cheese.. It was amazing. We finished it off with s'mores. The server brought out a little flame cup thingy and we made S'mores right there at our table. The second night was even better. We had the soup again, and I ordered the special which was a sirloin covered in a mushroom jack Daniels sauce on top of a French baguette with a side of garlic mashed potatoes, it was delicious. My wife had the prime sirloin baseball with garlic mashed potatoes. It was so good. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely visit again when we come back in town.

I would have given the place 5 stars considering the 35% off 35 year anniversary, had the ossobucco been seasoned. There was no salt. However I am glad to finally a good meal in Wyoming/Montana. (Went to all the well-reviewed places, anthony-bourdain-been huts, etc) Duck breast well cooked, well seasoned. pastas al dente with good "bite". Could work on a better wine list but overall good job on the meal. Season the osso bucco, better stock and more herbs in the sachet.

average sandwiches but definitely a good atmosphere. The specials are pretty good and overall a good place to eat lunch. Constantly changing specials and menu makes for a good place to come back to.

First off - I didn't see any 35% off.The guy that greeted us with a visor and broken foot was not all that friendly.... The waiter - super nice! The bill for two was $100 and for a really good meal - no problem... But this meal should have been more in the $40 range... For two. The hush puppies where super dry an lacked something. The chicken soup was okay - and it was the best part of the meal. The salmon was okay - the Mac and cheese, below mediocre. I'm an easy reviewer but this place gets a negative review... Disappointing is an apt word.

OMG! You have to try this place. On our summer vacation we decided to go to a "nice" restaurant to celebrate our fun day of hiking. We found Sweetwater on Yelp, as we always do when going to new places. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. First, the ambiance is amazing. Small, quaint, cabin feel with beautiful lamps, and local artwork on the walls. My husband and I knew immediately this place was tops, from the atmosphere alone. Service was great, wait staff very attentive. Husband ordered Elk dish, he and my younger daughter loved it, and still rave about it. I tried the vegan dish, very delicious! Everything about this place reeks Jackson, a must try for great food in a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. They did not even care we were in our hiking clothes either, very laid back for a fine establishment, much appreciated coming from Austin. The portions are huge by the way, so go hungry!

We got the suggestion to come here from our hotel, The Lexington, and it was one of the best meals on our trip. (last week of Aug. 2013) It was a little later than most folks eat, around 8:00pm, but they still had plenty of guests there. It's a little off the main square so probably doesn't get the exposure some of the other restaurants do and I felt like the locals went there, instead of just seeing tourists. I loved the historical nature of it, the décor was distinctly rustic but very warm and cozy and I loved the log cabin feel. We were treated like royalty, the service was truly impeccable and the meal itself was to die for. My husband's favorite for the night was the cinnamon apricot soup. He couldn't stop talking about it. :)

Was here in August- peak tourist season. Tried to grab some lunch and asked to sit on the patio. It was "under maintenance". Then two seconds later the hostess informed me that the kitchen just closed. This was confirmed rudely (and without us asking) by a second woman- apparently another employee. Never coming back...ever.

Easily the best dining experience of our trip! Great service from hostess, waitress and bus/water staff. Food as described and excellent. Had the elephant garlic and cheeses appetizer and ribeye. Great quality. The house dressing was great!

We went to Sweetwater this past weekend when we were in Jackson Hole visiting some friends. Super yummy. Great wine list, but it was little frustrating that they were changing their offerings so most of the wines that we chose off the list were not available. However, the zinfandel that the waiter recommended was perfect. We started off with an order of the crab cakes. Great flavor, but not quite as crispy on the outside as I might have liked. We also got an order of the elk sliders, which were absolutely divine. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the au jus sauce that they came with complemented them perfectly. My entree came with a salad, and upon my friend's recommendation I got the house dressing. Definitely the way to go. Very yummy and I found myself wanting to lick my plate clean. For an entree I ordered the lamb chops. I enjoyed the orange caper crust, but the yogurt mint sauce was a little strange. I can't even put my finger on what it was exactly that I didn't like about it... maybe it was a bit on the sweet side? The mashed potatoes that came with my entree were also mpressive. I think the dessert may have been my favorite part of the meal. For our table of 8, we ordered the New York Style Cheesecake, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie (my favorite), and some other chocolate dessert (I can't remember what but it was great). I'm sure the cheesecake was wonderful, but the other two were SO AWESOME that I had a hard time paying attention to the cheesecake. When we were finishing up our meal, the owner came over and chatted with us for a few minutes. Really personable friendly guy, so I felt good supporting this place. It was a great experience all around.

Best breakfast in town! This is a great place to go and relax in the morning here in Jackson hole. The out door seating is the best place to eat in my opinion. The service is quick, accurate and always with a smile. But the food, the food is amazing. Perhaps it is because I often come here after a few days in the mountains, but even without that occurrence, I believe this is a top five breakfast place for me in the United States. Well worth the stop on either before hitting the national parks, or after days of hiking and climbing.

Great lunch! We had blackened local trout salad (green chile ranch dressing) and an elk burger patty melt on grilled sourdough. Delicious!!! The restaurant is in a historic 1915 log cabin.

Great setting in an old house. Make a reservation, limited seating. No bar to sit at before sooner, but the waiter brought drinks to the waiting seats which was very nice! Food was great (I had the trout and it was fabulous!), quality and plentiful. Pricing was fair for the area. We had a great dinner and recommend if you are in the area for dinner.

Delicious lunch! A little on the pricey side but worth it. In an authentic old log cabin, drinks served in mason jars (which I love for some reason) and a really nice wait staff.

not bad. better value than the overrated snake river grill around the block. i had the fish, which i enjoyed. the uppity elderly group next to me complained that their fish was cold ... all of them. not sure what they were talking about because mine was good to go. maybe their dentures don't retain heat that well. the real treats though are the elk sliders. they come in threes, and if i ever come back here, i'm ordering 15 and not sharing any. for whatever reason those sliders are not available for lunch. and the chili at lunch was bland and thick, meh. so don't come here for lunch. i never gave dessert a chance. also for whatever reason, i got a big louisiana vibe from this place ... i'm partial to the sportsman's paradise, so that really has nothing to do with anything.

The atmosphere was nice and thee food was ok. I found the price high for what we got , but the real downer was the service. Getting our waiter to come back to our table was almost impossible. In fact I would say from the time we sat down until the time we left our waiter only came to the table three times, once to give us the menus, once to give us additional water and finally to ask if we would like the check, and we had already closed out with another waiter. We were served by flagging down other waiters and asking them to bring our food as we recognized our orders sitting on the serving shelf or flagging down another waiter and asking for a check. I wish I could say better but in good conscience I can't.

The waiters here were super nice! My younger brother insisted on pink lemonade, but they only had regular lemonade. The waiter got the kitchen to add cherry juice to make the lemonade pink. The salad dressing was all really good! Would definitely go back just for that. The food was decent, but not as spectacular as the salad. For the quality, it was a little expensive, but not ridiculous.

Had a light lunch here with my mother-in-law after a morning of shopping around town. Totally cute little place. Wait was a little long but I understand it's a popular place and it was prime lunch hour. It was a hot, sunny day and we sat on the patio but it was a wonderful little shady spot - and since my three kids were all at the park with my husband - totally relaxing. We both had the corn chowder and split the cranberry chicken sandwich. It was just what we were looking for. Very enjoyable lunch. Kind of expensive, but hey, it's Jackson after all.

Oh, how I love thee, Sweetwater! This is not a French Laundry five star, but rather, a good, honest, lovely experience five star. With that said, the food is devine, in a down home, really homemade, really delicious way. We had a tomato parm soup (intense, fresh tomato taste), one of the best ceasar salads of all time (killer dressing), a wonderfully seasoned bison steak and a fabulous elk steak, plus kick butt bread pudding. Nothing was too fancy, and the sauces and sides on the mains were similar, but worked well with each dish. Flavors were rich, intense, but not fussy. Quality was top notch all around. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable, and spent time sharing ideas for dog hikes and the community. The setting was charming, sort of warm, inviting log cabin. Great mix of patrons, too, families, couples, locals, not many tourists, a cowboy...totally cool and welcoming.

Fabulous crab cakes but the "famous" spinach souffle was just OK. Very good wine list. Good rustic decor and quiet atmosphere with pleasant music appropriate to digestion. A welcome contrast to most restaurants, which are noisy and play gut churning music appropriate to a food fight.

My favorite Jackson restaurant for lunch. Love the log cabin atmosphere, handmade placemats, mix of old oak tables and chairs, and great service. Only eyesore is the cheap hanging lights. Great menu - everything good. There is a special bread pudding daily which is too yummy.

I found this place via yelp and really really enjoyed it. Very nice local feel and service was extremely friendly. Prices were reasonable too. I got the died green tomatoes and the buffalo skirt steak and my friend got the buffalo sliders and a steak special. The steak special portion was a little small but very tasty and the mac and cheese side more than made up for it. My two choices were very good even though my skirt steak was a bit more undercooked than I asked for. Would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Jackson.

Love the Sweetwater! Whether you come for lunch or dinner, the food is consistently good! HIghly recommend their cobb salad and the ancho trout. Went there with friends and two babies, restaurant was accommodating and the food came out super fast! Highly recommend this quaint, friendly restaurant!

This place is a cute little log cabin. The soups are really good. My favorite dessert is the s'mores. They bring a little pot to your table to melt the chocolate and you get all the trimmings (marshmallows, chocolate, grahams). Divine.

I used to live in JH, but when I visit my first stop is always Sweetwater. It is always lovely on the patio in the summer... with an Arnold Palmer in a mason jar, no less. The winter is cozy and warm inside the little house that always reminds me of my grandparents cottage in Vermont. Even the floors make the same sound. However, regardless of time of year I cannot sway from my staple order. It's called "The Blue One" and it has changed my life. I know that sounds dramatic, but it really is the best sandwich I have ever had. It starts with a soft, baguette that is spread with the most flavourful homemade pesto. Then it is toasted and filled with lettuce, fresh tomatoes, a ton of blue cheese, filled with perfectly cooked grilled chicken and walnuts and then lightly pressed together again. OMG. I have tried a couple of other lunch items (when my friends have ordered them!) and they are really wonderful too... the Roast Beef Six and I think it is the Sonoma wrap are def worth a try too at lunch. A Jackson Hole institution!

The food here was great - my turkey reuben came with the thousand island on the side, so that I could choose just unhealthy to make it, while the soup (chicken and rice) was fresh with whole grain rice. The staff was extremely accomodating, and we finished it off with a great piece of German chocolate cake. Highly recommended for tasty, home style cooking.

I really enjoyed my meal. We sat on the patio on a nice day and had our meals in front of us quickly. I had the Blue One (grilled chicken, bleu cheese, and walnuts on a hoagie) which was ok. The chicken was a full grilled breast so it made it pretty difficult to eat in one piece. Decent flavor though and quite large. We also ordered the crab and avocado melt which was outstanding. I had immediate order regret after tasting that sandwich. The service was kind of cold and from the other reviews that wasn't a surprise. I did get everything I needed quickly though and that's the important part.

The food was really good but we waited a hour for our food and the place wasn't that crowded. Our server never came back to refill our drinks or ask how our food was. We had to ask for the check because we waited forever and they never brought it. The elk burger was very very tasty. But over all the service is lacking. I will not be coming back....ever.

If you're a vegetarian in Jackson, this is your place. From rich hearty Parmesean Stack to yummy salads with homemade dressings, a "must go to". And if your meat eating family is worried, they need not be. My only cautionary word is, beware of the dessert sizes. My bread pudding could've fed five people! Of course, in Jackson, eating outside when the weather is good is essential, and this well shrouded patio has a mountain view. The table benches aren't super comfy, and they're a little off balance. So, not the best if eating with friends with balance issues. Finally, I see that the business is up for sale. Let's hope the new owners keep up the quality.

My dad and I went there yesterday for lunch. We both started off with the chicken and okra soup, very yummy. Then I got the Cowboy sand which and my dad got the elk burger. They were both delicious. My dad's burger was huge!! The service was very nice. I chose to get the lemon and raspberry cake, OMG. Homemade and was the best I have ever had. This is a must.

Looking for a place to eat after a Wednesday morning of mountain and moose viewing in Grant Teton park. Decided to drive the outside perimeter of the main square looking for less tourist oriented places. Found a log cabin with a very pleasant garden patio. It was late in the lunch service so the staff was a bit "exasperated". But still friendly. The clientele was mixed, with enough uber wealthy moms to make the people watching fun. Food: good. No great. The Reuben was made right with a great sauce on the side. But the best was the melon cream cole soup. It was like melon ice cream soup. So good. One son had the monte Cristo, which he also loved. Other sons gyro was great. Mom's cashew chicken wrap was "good" with whole cashews and nice and spicy. Love the atmosphere. Local beer selection (cans) was broad enough but short. Highly recommended for lunch at least.

our lunch was good and our actual server was good, but there was some in between that was not so good. I had the blackened salmon and it was prepared well. All their dressings are home made which is unique. I would rate higher if it wasn't for the inconsistency of customer service. We were greeted when we walked in by a women and then a young man who was standing there seated us. He then asked what we wanted to drink with a rather annoyed vibe. First off, as a tourist, I found this system confusing because I assumed he was our server since he took our order for drinks and never explained that so and so will be serving us. My husband and I ordered waters and we always say thank you after we order anything. he never says thank you, your welcome or any word that might implement customer appreciation. The young man hightails up to our table , CLANK.....sets 'ice teas' down quickly and hightails away even quicker. Literally all we could get out was "uh" and he was gone nor did he seem to care if we were trying to tell him something. We had not ordered cold ice tea and while we don't care about a mistake, it's about how it gets fixed. Our waiter was good and did fix it, but we did have to sit for some time before we we got what we actually ordered.

A few people recommended this spot for lunch. Service was great and prices are very fair and it has that real old town feel to it. Chicken salad stuffed avocado was unique and very tasty. I am going to try to make this at home. The elk chili did not do it for me and the chicken and rice soup could have been a bit more flavorful. All the men at the table ordered elk burgers and I have to say the burger is the way to go. It was huge, double stacked and came with cheddar and bacon for $13.75. Over all a real down-home type place with good prices but I did not love the atmosphere so would not be at the top of my list.

We are first time visitors to Jackson Hole. We tried Sweetwater. The Jackson Hole Orange Cream Soda was a big hit with our kids. We sat outside with a view of the ski slopes on picnic tables. Very rustic and we loved it. The menu is small, but I can't imagine you could go wrong. I had the Buffalo Chili and it was awesome. Had a huge piece of corn bread. Tha salad dressing were awesome (Feta and Garlic was amazing). My husband had the blackened tilapia and it was awesome (kids helped eat it) and my MIL has the trout--another hit. The only "losing" dish for us was the cheesecake--it did not meet my son's high standards. If you are looking for a great, family-friendly restaurant in Jackson--the come to Sweetwater. Another plus--kids menus items are only $5.95.

I can see why people could be upset with this place for their service, it is slow, it can be inattentive.... we had our meal as quickly as they changed the table next to us 3 times.... why? I have no idea.... but all of that is forgotten when you try the feta/garlic dressing. This stuff should be sold everywhere, it is so so good. Salty, garlicky, creamy, tasty dressing I could have eaten like a soup (speaking of soup, I asked for a sample of their cold soup out of curiosity, the soup was cream of pineapple or something... that stuff is super weird, like a smoothie gone wrong... I would not want that as my side dish). Anyway, I had the sonoran sandwich (I think), the one with chicken, cheese, roasted bell pepper, onion, olive, and amazingly delish pesto... this sandwich was so good, I ate the whole thing (and it was large)... the bread was toasted, yet soft, the combination of flavors were delicious and savory.... would recommend.... and be sure to get the salad with the feta/garlic... why didn't I bring some home with me?!?! Next time Sweetwater....

Husband and I were looking for a low key meal after a long day of driving. The service was poor - the lady busing our tables took our appetizer/bread plates before we were finished eating either of them. The music and atmosphere didn't mix. The food was terrible. I had the mustard covered pork tenderloin - it was over cooked and super salty. My husband had elk ossobuco which was supposed to have a sauce on it, but it was drowned in the sauce and lacked salt. The most redeeming part of the meal were the fried pickles. Not worth the $70 + we paid.

This is a review for lunch only. I swear that sweetwater is two restaurants in one. Dinner really outshines lunch. It's almost like lunch is an afterthought. Honestly this is sad because Dinner is soooo good. The selection of sandwiches and salads is underwhelming and a little disappointing. After feasting on grilled pork chops with jalapeño mac 'n' cheese the night before, I was really hoping to get the same fireworks at lunch. Sweetwater has always had such inventive and delicious use of local game and vegetables, at dinner. I just wish that lunch packed the same punch. Case in point, putting canned tomatoes in the chicken noodle soup felt like they were trying to get rid of leftovers. I'll definitely be back for dinner.

Went to this restaurant to grab a quick bite. There were plenty of people outside eating but was turned away due to them being "closed." There was a sign outside, I had missed on the way in, that stated they were open till 3....not 9:30 as stated on yelp. Unsure of actual closing time.

The oyster poorboy tasted great but there weren't many oysters, the crab salad sandwich was also good but skimpy on the crab sandwich. We weren't impressed with the food but the service was good and the location in an old cabin us charming.

Came here for lunch and I have to say, service was pretty lousy. I waited a few minutes to get seated, which was fine... but I also waited a while with the menu before even being acknowledged by my waiter. The food was good, nothing amazing but I would come back for that. My waiter checked in on me once when I inadvertently made eye contact. I also witnessed the table in front of me left. He replaced the place mats but never cleaned the table. When we went to seat people there they mentioned how dirty it was. He had to come back, clean the table and the chairs. Wonder why he didn't do this the first time. If your in the area for a few days, skip this place as there are others with better service. If you live here.... well.... good luck with that.

Granted We were on a tour, but we ate early. I had selected the trout. They said they ran out. BS, I called at 7pm and asked what fish they had available that evening: tilapia and trout was their response. So for my meal, I got u tender sirloin with no bacon wrapped around as the menu said. They had no steak knives. Got nothing for not having my desired entree. Bathroom had no paper towels. Avoid.

Three of us ordered the NY steak, 2 of us ordered it medium and one ordered medium-rare. The 2 "medium" steaks came well done and the other came medium-rare. it was very disappointing, the server asked us if we want to return it because he also noticed that it was over cooked, but we were so hungry and didn't really feel like returning it at this point. as a well done steak it was ok /: i guess. another person had the pasta with a creamy tomato sauce which was just BAD, with just a LOT of cream and some weird spice. The only good part i can say was the service.

If you want great food at a reasonable price, this is the place for you in Jackson, WY. Three years ago when we were here we went to Sweetwater restaurant and loved it. Back again this trip with the same results. The meal started with house baked bread with honey butter. Very nice. My wife had the elk osso bucco. It was great!! It was so good it was hard to get past the grits and gravy to try the meat. The gravy was so rich and deeply flavored it was like rendered marrow. I had the mustard pork tenderloin with green chili mac and cheese. It was just as good as it was 3 years ago when I had it, which was and still is wonderful!! Moist & tender, not the faintest hint of dry, tough or chewy (which sadly, often happens to pork tenderloin). We both had the bacon, spinach, and artichoke soup. Good depth of flavor, with a very nice broth. Entrees were $27 each which included your choice of soup or salad. With the quality of the food at those prices I don't see how they stay in business. But I'm glad they do. We dove right in before I had the chance to take pictures. Sorry :-/

For lunch, my husband and I went to Sweetwater Restaurant. In 1915, Martha and Clarence Dow, Mormon pioneers from Utah, came to Jackson via covered wagon and built a log cabin. It was to be their home for five years. Like other pioneer families, their dream sustained them only briefly and after moving to Idaho, their cabin became a home for many successive families, including long-time residents, Ed and Emily Coe, who operated the local blacksmith shop at 75 South King Street. Originally a square tenon cornered cabin, the Coe Cabin underwent modification in the early 1920's when the coped corner section of the southern half of the restaurant was added on. the simple pitched roof was changed to the gable style seen today. The shingled eaves and roof, as well as the log corner construction exemplify the early western mountain home." I was in the mood for some fresh trout so when we showed up and there was none on the menu, I was ready to leave. The menu online promised it and I had never had it before so I was really zero'd in on it. But my husband suggested we give it a try. He had the fried pork belly and egg salad blt with a side salad. No french fries in this place! Now, my husband is a picky picky eater and I suggested this because he loves bacon. He didn't complain at all. I had the buffalo sloppy joe and Sweetwater's signature soup - Louisiana sausage and okra gumbo. Both were absolutely delicious!! Honestly, I think they need more carbs on the menu but I get that they were probably trying to be healthy. Regardless, my meal was good.

Food was ok but service was terrible! Hostess was sassy and gave us evil glares when asked for water after waiting at the table for 10 minutes with no waiter in sight. When water finally arrived with no straws- she said she would go get some with an eye roll, and proceeded to wipe down other tables outside- straws never came. When our waiter finally showed he was frazzled and barely checked on us (it was not crowded!) This place would be better with different staff!

The restaurant is small, crowded, noisy, and the service was not able to take good enough care of the diners. But the food was very good so glad we picked this place for dinner.

Avoid.

The oyster poorboy tasted great but there weren't many oysters, the crab salad sandwich was also good but skimpy on the crab sandwich. We weren't impressed with the food but the service was good and the location in an old cabin us charming.

All dishes served with slices of fresh fruits: Strawberries, Oranges and Honeydew Melon... instead of fries. I liked that a lot.

Great setting in an old house. Make a reservation, limited seating. No bar to sit at before sooner, but the waiter brought drinks to the waiting seats which was very nice! Food was great (I had the trout and it was fabulous!), quality and plentiful. Pricing was fair for the area. We had a great dinner and recommend if you are in the area for dinner.

not bad. better value than the overrated snake river grill around the block. i had the fish, which i enjoyed. the uppity elderly group next to me complained that their fish was cold ... all of them. not sure what they were talking about because mine was good to go. maybe their dentures don't retain heat that well. the real treats though are the elk sliders. they come in threes, and if i ever come back here, i'm ordering 15 and not sharing any. for whatever reason those sliders are not available for lunch. and the chili at lunch was bland and thick, meh. so don't come here for lunch. i never gave dessert a chance. also for whatever reason, i got a big louisiana vibe from this place ... i'm partial to the sportsman's paradise, so that really has nothing to do with anything.
