While traveling through Jackson we had a craving for Chinese food. Since the higher rated Yelp option had burned down we decided to ignore reviews and try the Hong Kong buffet. We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the kung pao chicken and egg fried rice from the menu and both were very good We added a side of sweet and sour sauce which made it excellant! The buffet was busy but not what we wanted. The servers are abrupt but almost in a funny way so give it as try if you want good American Chinese food:)

We were looking at the menu outside, a lady came out and yell at us "hey just came in and eat! We have many customers coming in later! Are you going to eat or not?" Seriously...is this how you treat a potential customers?

They are liars and never be honest to customers, especially for Chinese people. I almost called police to report their shameless price and bad service

I came here by accident actually. There is another Chinese place that Yelp shows in the same place so I walked in without knowing I was in the wrong place. The only thing I can say is the service is terrible. They don't actually seem like they want business. I went in and even though there were empty tables she told me to come back in 30 minutes. Against my better judgement I did. Then she looked at me with confusion and said, didn't you come in earlier? I was like, yes and you told me to come back right now. Ummmm. She basically told me to leave again. I gave up.

Horrible experience! Food is cold and left over. Buffet out of basic stuff like noodles, we kindly ask them to add little got yelled back. Some of us ordered from menu realize they have special menu once she find out you are not local. Price are high with no quality nor quantity at all. In the end after all that Horrible experience we just wanted to get out of these realize she added 18 % tip directly onto the bill. Yelled at us once we questioned why its automatically added. How did we end up here anyway. Wonder why its still in business. Never ever again!

terrible service. Foods are salty. Even worse, they ask for additional 18% tips. Never, ever go for bite!

Pretty typical of a buffet style restaurant. Nothing outstanding food wise. They cater to bus traffic so it can get crowded.

The Chinese waitress service was really awful! She didn't give us water at first until end and her service let us felt uncomfortable. She added 18% tips in bill voluntary and shameless. The foods was nothing special.

I read the reviews and took my chances, but this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Cold food, rude staff, and no quality items. It must be a money laundering scheme

Food was "OK" off the buffet but a bit warmed over. Then about 15 minutes after I left it hit me like a Mack Truck if you know what I mean. I should have looked up the reviews before I went in. The food critics here on Yelp are about 50/50 (and the good ones are probably fraudulent) but on Google the percentage is considerably higher in favor of staying away.

Good for middle-America, nice service and decent quality. We were passing through Jackson and felt like some Chinese, the Buffet was $14/person, and drinks were extra but in a resort town, I suppose that's not too spendy. The hostess sat us at a table next to the buffet, took our drink order and promptly brought it to us. The food was just above average, the rice was very well made (and strangely was nearly the best part, but we're rice snobs), and the selection was good, especially for people not into pork or seafood--only 2 or 3 dishes of that sort and about 15 entrees to choose from. I was a little disappointed the dessert selection was only cookies or pudding, but we were pleasantly surprised by the overall flavor and service so the 3.5stars it should get turns into a 4.

I came here with family passing through town. I've had horrible experiences in tourist towns with Chinese food and I avoid them completely. This one take the cake. We opted to order off the menu instead of the buffet. Half the buffet looked decent but not worth the price. Here's three things you need to know about the food here: 1. It's very greasy 2. It's very salty 3. Meat in a meat dish only make up less than a third of the actual dish. Let me give you an example. We ordered elk, which was intriguing, but was the most expensive item on the menu. Not only was it a bad idea it was like we were eating a plate of vegetables and the elk was an afterthought. I haven't mentioned that the elk was overlooked and some of the vegetables were undercooked. Or that the chef went into the fridge and threw extra vegetables in that don't belong in there. The napa cabbage was raw in the middle. Who cooks cucumbers in stir fry? Stir fry beef with green onion had tons of scallions...and required an excavation to dig out the beef. The shrimp and egg had lots of egg, salt, and a spoonful of shrimp. The eggplant in garlic sauce had lots of eggplant, and other veggies but not enough garlic. Service was pretty horrendous. The restaurant was hit with two large groups, and the chefs were bringing out the dishes to serve. All our dishes were brought out without serving spoons. The waitress took forever to bring us a container of rice. Not only am I not coming back, I'm never ever ever letting my mom pick the restaurant again. EVER.

Great place for a quick meal, no wait time, lots of choices. My three children love it! Fresh fruit and veggies at the cold bar, plus chocolate, vanilla, and tapioca pudding! Cookies, dough nuts, lei chi nut fruit, melon and jello for desert. Great won ton soup, soft fried noodles, clams, fresh green garlic green beans, yummy broccoli, spring rolls are excellent, white rice in a rice cooker, and special Chinese soup (maybe its Kanji?) for the Chinese tourist bus loads. There are times that there are only a few tables available during Chinese bus load season, but the food is its very best on these days. During the off season, let them know what you want to eat from the buffet, and they will cook it up for you and sometimes even bring it to your table on a big plate and let you take it home with you! Super family friendly. My kids sometimes get up to tour the buffet and they are totally kind about that. Free buffet for kids 5 and under. The other two Chinese restaurants in town I have tried too, but I prefer this one. It is most like the food at restaurants that I frequented during two weeks in China. Don't expect New York City quality Chinese food here in Jackson, but if you want Chinese, this is a fine choice! I like eating at places where there are lots patrons from that food's culture choosing to eat there, and this place has the most Chinese people eating here, because it's the most authentic Chinese food in town. If you prefer Americanized Chinese food, go next door. They also are often playing beautiful Chinese music that my children, my Mother and I very much enjoy. This is my Mom's and my Chinese-go-to here in Jackson for the past 10 years! My Asian friends from Thailand and China love it too. If you are in a hurry, it's much healthier than McDonalds, and takes about the same amount of time to sit down and eat it, as sitting in McDonalds to eat. I see a lot of lunch time locals eating here during their lunch break as well as young couples in their 20's and 30's.

The taste is OK, but the price is too high. What I really don't like is the mandatory tips. They add the 18% tips mandatorily to the bill.

We found 3 Chinese restaurants in the area and decided to give this a try. We ordered off the menu and was pretty disappointed. As chinese people, the dishes were not very authentic. They were rushed and the ingredients used were old. The skills of the chefs were also questionable. I would compare this to a chinese food truck that spits out your food in 5 mins.

Be prepared to get ripoff ! Everything on their menu is over-priced, they even charge for rice! Can you believe that ? The taste of food is also poor, it seems that the chef never learned how to cook. People working there should worry about their personal hygiene,I witnessed dirt in the nails of the waitress. More importantly, they add tips (20% solid )automatically on your check regardless whether you want to tip that much or not. In a word, the worst dinning experience ever!

It really suck, it charged me 18% tips without asking us. BTW, the it charge us 1$ 4 each tiny bow of rice with notification. I'll never come to this fuckin place anymore.

The food was normal buffet Chinese. The service was less than stellar. They stopped putting new food out and hour before closeing time. Very small buffet but tasted good.

The worst Chinese restaurant I met in US....... When I stepped into, I just felt so uncomfortably, because everything is bad, poor facility, poor service, poor everything. They charges very high (only small dish), however they also charge 20% tips automatically, I highly suspect that how such horrible restaurant can still be alive???!!!!! !The taste is horrible, and feels dirty........ Never come to this place, really bad.......

Haven't had anything but the buffet here but it's good food. Not a big buffet but everything in my three experiences was cooked well and the service is the best of all the Chinese restaurants in Jackson. 17.50 for a dinner buffet and a drink which for Jackson isn't bad everything is expensive in Jackson

We truly enjoyed the lunch buffet. We have never seen a buffet with such a large variety, and the quality was definitely more than average. All you can eat lunch buffet for less than 9 dollars, that's what I call real value for money especially when considering the otherwise steep prices in Jackson. Spring rolls, dim sum, variety of fried items (meats, vegetables), different rices, noodles, soups, several wok dishes, vegetables incl chop suy, desserts, fresh fruits, cookies, etc. just to name a few items... Staff was attentitive and friendly. Btw a lot of Asians eating in, which generally is a sign that the food is good and authentic (maybe too authentic for some non-asians?).

Just had dinner there after visiting Yellowstone. It was a very nice combination of food choices and without MSG. The best meal we had in a week. Stop by if you craving for chinese food after visiting NP.

Small but nice place! Worth the price. Waitress was warmhearted and helpful. Note that They have two menus: one with traditional Chinese food, the other with American style Chinese food. The food at the buffet bar are American style.

The service here was superb, and the food was pretty good. The waiters were really nice to us. The vegetable lo mein was really good. The food was cooked fresh, we could hear it from the kitchen. I wouldn't listen to those bad reviews about the Hong Kong Buffet. It's actually a very nice place and they offer take out and delivery, as well as dine in. We went there for dinner and it was a nice experience.

This is a cozy little Chinese buffet in Jackson...the only Chinese buffet in Jackson. The service was great and they were very attentive. There was a good crowd at the lunch hour, which allowed for a good cycle of fresh food. They have all of the typical Chinese American cuisine options and as much of it as one desires to consume. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for Chinese food in Jackson Hole.

during my overall wonderful 6-days vacation to Yellow Stone, the Hong Kong Buffett is the only and worst experience I had. 1. only 1 bathroom and it is right next to buffet food pans, while you pickup your food, you see bathroom door open and closes and people in and out or waiting ... 2. use plastic dishes, an indication they don't wash them with washing machines. 3. food quality is really really poor. 4. charge cup of teas for $1 each. 5. found dirty material in food dishes. worst worst ever Chinese food experience in US.

Worst Chinese buffet I ever went to. Little selection in the buffet, worse, I think they re-heat stuff left over and put it out the next day. Nearly all the dishes were spicy, nice to cover up the stale taste I guess, I couldn't eat much because I have GERD, They had egg drop soup that had blobs of gelatinous stuff in it, sickening, obviously re-served several times. For three people we paid $47 and I think they added in a tip. This place has been reviewed elsewhere and gets astonishingly low marks every time. After returning home I contacted local sources in Jackson, attached links to the horrible reviews and asked if there was anything they could do about it, such as a health department referral. We got a brush off. Local people there only care about boosting their town, want nothing to do with people who report abuses of tourists. Won't be going back to this place and will avoid the entire area. It is grossly overpriced, pretentious and as I learned local authorities put up with abuses for the almighty dollar.

The only people who come are stopping by the little town of Jackson on the way elsewhere. When they got us a table and we all went to the buffet (the aisles are so narrow you can get away with molesting the person next to you); we came back to our table only to find other people sitting there. I told the waitress, and she split my party up and bunked us with two other different tables. I know they are busy, but who does that? Food is as if it were from those gas-station rest-stop Chinese buffets.

Worst Chinese buffet I've ever been to. We stopped here on our way out of Jackson during the off season (mid-November). It was a Saturday evening at dinner time and the place was pretty dead. Here are my primary beefs with the place: 1. The buffet is tiny. There were only 2 hot food areas and the number of dishes was quite limited. 2. The food itself was just not good. Even though it was dinner time and the food should have been fresh, once we started eating it you could just tell that it had been sitting out for a while. Dried out, tough, chewy meat. The noodles were very greasy. No vegetable dishes (there were 2 or 3 meat dishes that had vegetables in them). They serve crab legs at dinner but no one was taking them because you could tell just from looking at them they weren't good. 3. Expensive! The dinner buffet was about $15 per adult and for such a limited selection with lousy food it was WAY over-priced.

Hands down worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Eating the chicken was like trying to eat a rock. Place serves straight goulash. We felt lucky to wake up not sick. Lady was super nice though.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
