Clean and fast. I got noodle soup there. Can't call it authentic Chinese food, but it is ok in a city with such a low Chinese population. Was impressed by the lady owner there -- extremely friendly... Was that because I was the first Chinese she saw for a very long time? Anyway, a pretty and nice lady. I wish her long term happiness.. Also best regards to her family running this restaurant.

Oh my gosh, I don't even know where to start! Ordered take out, the emperor platter, sweet and sour chicken, lo-mein and won-tons. Everything was horrible. The sweet and sour sauce had the consistency and taste of unflavored jello, the chicken lacked any flavor and was extremely mushy. The won-tons were super dry and burnt to a crisp. The lo-mein noodles had no flavor, the egg rolls were plain cabbage, the barbecue pork was dry and hard with no flavor and the spareribs were the same. I want my money back, my family was disgusted by the food and with the high price we really expected better. Stay away! We will never be going back.

While here for work for a few days i saw this and thought I would try it for dinner one night. The food was good and filling. I had Hot and Sour soup and Cashew Shrimp with steamed rice. Fair portions and prices. I have had better but this was good.

Be aware of credit card fradulant activity. My wife's credit card info was stolen and charged $300+ by some online women clothing store in Florida, shortly after they had dinner at this Chinese restaurant on their summer Yellowstone trip. Luckily, citibank called me for the suspicious charge and I canceled my card after checking with my wife. My wife did recall that the waitress, out of norm, asked her if she took her credit card back and not to forget it. Be aware.

Several people told us that this was the best Chinese restaurant in town. We arrived 30 minutes before closing on a Wednesday evening. A large table of 9 were seated as well as two tables with couples. We were a group of 5 and received quick, friendly and efficient service. Nice atmosphere but not fancy: Fabric table cloths but fake flower centerpieces. I posted photo of my dinner. Others in my party complemented their meals though two of us thought our spicy foods weren't very spicy - yet the sauces were extremely good tasting. Standard fair, decent for the middle of no where.

We ordered the chicken chow mien. They gave us a little bit of noodle bits like you will get in a salad. They did not give us fortune cookies at the end and all the other tables got them. I had to ask for it. The assorted vegetables are very little as well. You get about four little broccoli and around five snow peas and the rest is can food. The giger beef does not have ginger or other vegetables in there. The quantity is small for beef. Though the beef noodle soup has real noodles, the vegetables that they give in the soup is only the end stem of a napa cabbage; it didn't come with the leaves. They knew we that were not locals here just a first time customer. I think honesty is a need in this place. I feel ripped off. They charge $1.50 for a bowl of rice. We paid $42 for a little bit of food. I am extremely disappointed in this restaurant.

Great Wall is by far the best Chinese food in town. Great food and I just can't believe how fast their service is. I'm glad they came to town with Hong Kong going down hill. Hope they r around for years to come.

We weren't expecting superior Chinese food and we didn't find it. But it was tasty enough to eat. When I ordered Orange Chicken the server asked if I wanted it mild, regular or spicy. I asked for spicy; it was so bland I wonder what mild was like. The pork with garlic sauce wouldn't have been bad if there were more than 5 pieces of pork in it and it had any garlic. Mostly it was sauteed onion and water chestnuts. The place was crowded on a weekday and two of the tables were all Asians speaking languages I couldn't understand. Usually this would be a good sign, but in Gillette it probably reflects the fact they didn't have too much choice.

This is the best Chinese food option in Gillette. The menu is filled with all the standards, and I have always found them to be adequately prepared and fairly tasty. Most of the food is not spectacular, but when I am in the mood for Chinese food, this place satisfies the craving. The Mongolian beef is decent, though a little sweet, and the sweet and sour chicken is always reliably good. The sweet and sour soup is also quite tasty. The staff is friendly, and the owners are very nice.

This place is really 2.5 stars, but I decided to round down. I really wanted to like this place. We read the reviews on Yelp, and decided to give it a go. I consider myself an American-Chinese food addict. It's Chinese food, how bad could it be? Let's start with the pro's: - Very quiet atmosphere. Perfect lighting, flowers on table. Very nice touch. - Prices were reasonable for a high-end Asian restaurant. About equal to a Thai bistro. - Fantastic waiting staff. I thought everyone from the very beginning to the very end was great. Exactly why I left a great tip too! There's only one con, but it's huge: - The food is under-flavored. Seriously, I can't even describe how bland *everything* was. The worst part was that everything looked so good to eat, that didn't help either. It wasn't "nasty", but it was far from "delicious" too. The Coke I received with the meal was even watered down. That's understandable, it happens from time to time. Next up was the won ton soup, mine was pretty good. The flower soup was bland, a little salt/pepper action worked there. Next up was a huge sampler for an appetizer. We had about 6 different items on the plate. All looked extremely delicious. But in the end, every single one was bland. The chef seriously needs to learn how to marinate and/ or add more spices to his food. Everything tasted just like the meat that it was, not the spices/sauce that it was in. Finally I had a large plate of some vegetables with orange chicken, and fried rice. The orange chicken had the same issue. Even the fried rice was bland! I've had at many many Chinese restaurants across the country, and have never experienced even fried rice being bland. It doesn't take a rocket science to make fried rice. At the end of the day, I loved the place and the people. The food was so bland that I couldn't justify nowhere near the cost that I paid for it. Food is what keeps people coming back to a place, and this one just doesn't have it. My suggestion to them would be to replace their chef with someone who knows how to properly marinate and spice food.

While staying at the Clarion, I was looking for something close and saw the Great Wall restaurant in a little strip mall very close to the hotel. What to do....there was a Mexican restaurant close by too. Hmmm, Mexican or Chinese.... I chose Chinese this time. The Great Wall is nice inside but nothing really fancy. I had Sweet and Sour soup, spring rolls, hunan beef and hot tea. Everything was good and nothing really stood out as exceptional. The wait staff was nice and adequately attentive. They also had reasonably priced lunch specials so I think I would prefer this place as a lunch spot. This is a place I would go to again if I was in a Chinese mood again - and 1,000 miles from home in Gillette, WY.

Best Chinese restaurant in town! Locally run by extremely friendly people (go in and talk to Tony and Jenny, they're always there), and great food. The lunch specials are affordable and good. Try the potstickers, they're the best!

Don't even think about it. I actually had to abandon the meal before I got sick. Truly, astonishingly, breathtakingly bad.

This isn't the best Chinese food I've had (I miss the Golden Dragon in Spearfish, SD) but for Gillette, it's great. Tony and Jenny are wonderful people and always stop by to check on you and your food. I love the pot stickers here and I really like the Moo Goo Gai Pan. The Egg Drop soup is also really good, and for some reason, they have the BEST hot tea ever! And Tony and Jenny always bring me the biggest tea-pot they have, filled to the brim! The Sweet and Sour Chicken/Pork are really good and I love the little won ton strips they bring out at the beginning of the meal - kind of like chips and salsa, only Chinese. The service is always really good and they're prompt and friendly. Occasionally, the cooks can be heard singing, which I really enjoy! The atmosphere is nice - quiet Chinese music, pictures of the Great Wall, table linens and cloth napkins - and you know you can sit and chat as long as you like, because Tony and Jenny don't care how long you're there.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
