    The service is great, the people who work there are all friendly and tolerant. The food is cheap. I like their tortilla chips which are made from flour tortillas instead of corn. But the food is - well, not very good. The only meat they have is chicken or hamburger. It seems to me that the only flavors are salty and hot. Other reviews have called this place "working man's food". My sympathy to the average working man. I have family in Cheyenne and whenever we are visiting, we end up here but not because of the food. If it weren't for the margaritas, I wouldn't set foot in the place ever again. Surprisingly, the family doesn't like the food much either. They go for the margaritas but you have to order food to get them cheap. I'm lactose intolerant so I have to order stuff without cheese. It came as a surprise that they cut their guacamole with cottage cheese - a practice I have never seen anywhere else. I asked for guac without the cottage cheese but they wouldn't make it special for just me. The last time I was there I got a taco salad (how can you screw up a taco salad?). I got a nice crispy taco bowl with lettuce and some rubbery, overly salty chicken on top. That's it. I ate the bowl. So I go for the margaritas and the company, order the cheapest thing on the menu and I throw out the food that I order.

    Casa de Trujillo has decent food. The green chili is very good and I enjoy the deep fried tacos. The restaurant has nice murals on the walls but the dirty old carpet and dust catching fake flowers make the place seem dingy. I have found the staff unhelpful and rude at times. Some examples include vacuuming while my husband and I are trying to enjoy a quiet dinner away from home. Refusing to go orders when there is plenty of time left. I always become unhappy when they close before their listed closing time (this happens frequently even though the staff leaves for a two hour period between lunch and dinner). It is almost as if Casa de Trujillo no longer wants my business or my money. I used to visit this establishment frequently but the poor service and little care about the customer have chased me away almost permanently. Hope they can turn it around.

    Once upon a time "Casa" was my favorite restaurant (Mexican or otherwise) in town. Their thick homestyle tortilla chips, which I would eat until my parents slapped my hands, may well be this Wyoming boy's Madeleines. This was before I lived on the Texas-Mexico border for three years and certainly before I went vegetarian. So I was a bit ... reluctant yesterday when my mother recommended we head there for dinner. Nobody likes to burn fond childhood memories. But the place holds up to my impossible expectations. Of course, it helps that I'm old enough now to drink and appreciate their margaritas -- which, to be honest, are probably why my parents used to bring me here. That Casa de Trujillo mixes the city's favorite margarita is probably why Tuesday nights ($1 margaritas!) are the only nights you'll have to wait for a table. And the bartenders are generous: At my table (of seven) we ordered four margaritas. She just brought us a whole pitcher, enough for the four margaritas we ordered and four free refills on top. I don't remember another place so generous with its alcohol. The food itself is tasty but (as other reviewers note) not exactly a revelation. You squeeze the salsa yourself from a red bottle awaiting you at the table, and I have serious doubts that those tortilla chips I loved so much as a kid are homemade. (Anyway, I was terrified to eat too many of them because the restaurant now charges $1.50 for additional baskets of chips.) If you're vegetarian, your only option is a plate of cheese enchiladas (hold the refried beans) and, really, the menu could use a bit of expansion; it looks exactly the same as it did ten years ago. So four stars for what may be Cheyenne's best Mexican restaurant. If you're not a Mexican food aficionado and are in town looking for a "local" meal that is off the beaten path, has fair prices and friendly service, and will sell you a memorable margarita, I recommend you give the place a try.

    I thought it was a very nice place, the food was very good and reasonly priced. The waitresses were very friendly, and gorgeous! In all my experience was very satisfying.

    The margaritas are good, but the food is not fresh. Guacamole is made with cottage cheese. I've gotten sick from the chicken on more than one occasion. It tastes like the only things made from scratch are the tamales and green chile sauce. We used to eat here almost weekly with friends but the quality and service has been steadily going downhill. Haven't been there for a long time now. It's sad because it used to be a fun place to go.

    This was the only mexican food I had in Cheyenne, so I dont know what the standard is. Also, my standard is very high coming from Los Angeles, California. But this was far from good Mexican food. I had ordered a bean/rice/cheese burrito with "house sauce". What I got was salsa soup with a burrito in it. Its hard to really review the burrito, when all i tasted was wet salsa juice. But the beans were wet, and the rice was hard. The chips were cold, fried flower tortillas. The best part about the place was the guacamole. It was actually funny. I'm pretty sure it was guacamole powder mixed with cottage cheese. The decor was cute, and I had high hopes because they serve a mean margarita, but the food was no bueno.

    From Dallas so this is not good Mexican. Not sure about WY standards. Guac had cottage cheese in it. Ohhhh nooooo

    I've only ever had Mexican food while living in Wyoming. So I have a low radar on which to judge, but this place had me torn. Something about the absolutely disgusting lack of cleanliness was charming in a small-town-back-road-mom-and-pop kind of way. Like it was really someone's home and vacuuming was unnecessary when family is visiting. The food tastes fine to me. Same as most Mexican restaurants in Wyoming, nothing mind blowing but certainly not bad!! The margaritas were outstanding! In fact two and I was no longer standing!! Overall the casual atmosphere with the tasty food and strong drinks I did in fact feel like I was at home. I would recommend eating here after drinking here.
