I expected a sports bar feel from the place as was advertised but found it did not fully leave up to the ideal. I was, however, pretty close, allowing one some down time in a medium to low level noise atmosphere. The lower amounts of natural light in the restaurant worked well with their theme. The service was not the best as not as much attention was paid to the customers as hoped for, but there were over twenty people being served so it can be understood. The food was very good and varied enough to bring me back for dinner a second time. I would recommend Starters.

Very good food, fun environment, good service. I enjoyed this enough to where I came back two nights in a row! great variety of food, with the ability to adjust orders to however the customer needs it. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Williamson!

Southern hospitality at it's finest! The ladies and gentleman of Starters provided exceptional service--and absolutely took care of us. I have debated whether or not I should post an entire review just on their Butter Pecan Cake, but it's is literally the best cake I have ever had--other than Mamal's of course! Either way before you leave Williamson you HAVE to down and visit Ms. Erika and get some Butter Pecan cake.

We came in with a group of twenty and the servers did really well considering we came in unannounced. I got the steakhouse burger with a side of fries and it was really good after I put some mayonnaise on it. The fries were really amazing!

Starters is a decent restaurant. I ate dinner there twice, and I would recommend their steak wrap over the chicken fettuccini pasta. Their sweet potato fries were also very good (not on the menu - you have to ask). The price seemed a bit expensive for the food quality and portions, but not overly so. I would have liked to see more variety on the menu; it was mostly salads, chicken or steak sandwiches/wraps, and burgers with a couple beef or chicken entrees. I went there with a group of twenty, and Starters was able to serve us within a reasonable amount of time given the circumstances. Overall, it was a good dining experience, and I left feeling mostly satisfied.

I had my breakfast at Starters today. They have a variety of food for breakfast, perfect for those who want to start their day with a heavy breakfast. Very satisfied. PS: I love their pancakes!

Starter's was surprisingly good! It is a great place for sports fans because there were several large televisions with athletic events playing. The food was also very good. I got the blackened grilled chicken and a loaded baked potato. I would definitely recommend stopping here!

Starters Sports Restaurant had a chill atmosphere and friendly service. The food took awhile to get there, which was understandable because we had a big group, but it was worth the wait. Quite tasty! I was a little annoyed however, because I bought a smoothie and it was actually a slushie!

Oh gosh...Starter's...where to begin... I remember before it was Starter's, when I was really small. My Dad is originally from Williamson, and our whole family would convene here to eat. Very nice memories! (And of course, the Brass Tree, Stewart's, Hurley's, and the Little Italy Restaurant that's no longer in business, and Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen and the Steakhouse-all very good!) Then it was Starter's, and my cousins and I loved the WV lottery machines (nothing like that up north you know?) and the arcade games in the back, and the decor was so different at the time, but we loved it. The keno games on the TVs-you don't really see that anywhere else. The chicken fingers were always a good standby. As I got older I started ordering the Hokie Club or Burger (I forget exactly which), although a few months ago while we were in town I got the veggie platter and mozzarella sticks, and Dad now seems to order the quesadillas pretty often. If we aren't with others already, we usually run into people we know or other family when we come in here. Dad and I were so excited they have wi-fi now, too! Dad gets nostalgic looking at all the old jerseys hanging on the walls from the original area high schools. He also is excited they now have a wine store in the other old seating section. They had a good selection too! Whenever we're back, we're there almost every night. Good times!

Delicious burgers and helpful service! This place is definitely worth stopping in if you're near Williamson! The only downside is that the waitresses don't have name tags (if they did, they would probably get even better tips for their wonderful service). This is a must for any travelers who want to enjoy a down-home meal!

Delicious food, great service, but during the spring and summer months they're plagued with hoards of fruit flies, patrons have to cover their drinks with napkins and constantly shoo fruit flies away from their plates. The smoking area is in the bar section. So if you want to sit, watch the game, while having a drink at the bar, it's not much fun if you don't smoke or are an asthmatic. Thankfully the dining area is sectioned off from the bar, has 3 tv's to choose from for all your gameday needs, and you can still get served your drinks while you have a nice meal with you family and/or friends. Also, they have theme nights which are very eventful and a lot of fun. One of the biggest draw backs is with the menu. Prices can change from one day to the next and you not know it. If there were something on the menu stating that "Prices are Subject to Change", I would know to ask how much something was prior to ordering it. But overall, I enjoy it and would recommend my family and friends to eat here.

Starters is a great sports bar, either if you want to just watch your favorite sport or if you just want to have a nice dinner with your family. Prices are reasonable and the waiters are really nice and attentive. I went with a group of 20 people plus 2 others, they handled everything well and my hamburgers were right on time. The food was delicious, I would however have wanted more drinks to select from.

Walking into Starters I was expecting to see more of a Sports Bar theme sense that was what was advertised, however there was a lack of that shown here at the establishment. The waiters and waitresses are very kind, but sometimes forget about you for a minute. The restaurant was very clean and presentable and the noise level was average. Now the main point of interest, the food. The food was very pleasuring. I had the BBQ Chicken, even though it was very good, I feel it was very over priced for all I received. They also had a great selection of food to choose from and their strawberry smoothies were grade A! I would recommend this place to anyone .

I went to Williamson, West Virginia and I went to Starters for dinner. its name on the sign on the street was Starters Sports Restaurants so I expected much sports bar atmosphere but I did not see much atmosphere about sports at this restaurant. there were many televisions and playing TNT or ESPN showing sports. there were many frames and pictures on the wall but those were not about sports which reduced the sports atmosphere as a design. I ordered Chicken Caesar Wrap. the food was served after about 40 minutes, which was long time to wait. but the wrap was kind of good, the seasoning was not enough i think. I felt that I eat something healthy so I think this can be compliment or something else at the same same. also the price was really good. it was cheap price and reasonable. I think this place can be good for travelers who are in tight budget too. if they are not in tight budget, they can order something expensive such as steak or ribs since Starters serve those food as well too. I recommend this place.

Slow and neglectful service, perhaps expected if this is your only true option in town.

Starters is a GREAT local owned sports bar and restaurant. Superb service and delicious food. Their new brick oven pizza is AWESOME. It's a MUST try.

We stopped here for dinner after a Long ride. Food was pretty good and so were the prices. Very friendly servers too. Only issue for me was that it was smoky. In Philly were use to restaurants that don't slow smoking inside the restaurant.

We stayed in the town for 2 nights, so I had a chance to try different dishes. Seafood is my thing, so I order Baked Tappila with baked potato for the first day and Grilled Shrimp with House Salad for the second day. The fish was beautifully grilled and seasoned with lemon pepper. A bit too salty though, but I was really satisfied with my choice. The second day, I picked Shrimp and a house salad. The Shrimp is good and the toast is lovely buttered and toasted. I love the mushroom in my salad. There was a variety of dessert choice. I picked strawberry cake. It was good, mildly sweet. I don't like the frosting very much, too sweet. My friend got lemon cake. It smelled lemon, but tasted too sweet. I would not recommend that lemon cake. The staff was very friendly and funny. They also have smoking zone and non-smoking zone. Great place to have dinner in a small town!

The food was good. The service kept getting better and better. I loved the grilled chicken with lemon peppers. Good experience.

I was disappointed in the quality of food that I was served. I ordered a vegetable platter, but the tomatoes and celery I was given were not ripe and lacked flavor, and overall the amount of vegetables was on the skimpy side. The service itself, though, was very good. The waitresses were very friendly and patient when taking orders from myself and 18 other colleagues, and they checked our tables frequently to ensure we had everything we needed. For this reason alone I have given this restaurant a rating of 3.

Starters was a decent place to eat. I got the bourbon cooked steak and it was less than extraordinary, but not bad. The service was great and I liked the atmosphere. The Classic feel was reflected in the food and southern hospitality. B quality restaurant.

Wow! An amazing restaurant. The food is very delicious and the waiters are so kind. They socialize with you and appeal to your tastes in order to recommend the best plate for you. This was my first time here and my experience was amazing. I loved the food the only thing i disliked was that they did not have cheesecake... that is my favorite dessert. However, that was not an issue their other desserts were phenomenal.

This was my first time eating at Starters and I enjoyed it. I had the Fish of the Day and it was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect for having dinner, and the staff was nice and friendly. If you are near Williamson, do not hesitate to come and try their delicious food.

The service was fair. We had a group of 20 go in to the small town restaurant and there were two waiters for our large group. They were nice and patient with our large group. I had ordered the baby back ribs with a side of a loaded baked potato and a salad. Unfortunately, the salad tomatoes were weird tasting. They may have been over ripe or something. I would have rather had none than that those on there. The Ribs were descent, but I did have to ask for more sauce. I also had to go find someone, because our waitress did not come check on us frequently. Finally, the loaded baked potato was not the very good. It had this slab of random cheese and onions on the potato. There was not any butter for my potato, but the one thing that was nice, it did have real bacon on top of the potato. Also, I would recommend that the waitresses wear name tags, just to create a better and friendlier relationship. I would go there again, but I would probably not order a salad, loaded potato, or ribs. I would choose a cheaper item, like a sandwich or wrap. My colleagues were eating those and they looked good. Also, the restaurant had a nice little sports bar theme. I liked that we had a separate area that was small but homey. Also, at the bar they let you smoke inside the restaurant. That could be a good or bad thing depending on one's smoking habits. They also had some t.v.s with sports of some sort playing. That entertained some of the people. It was alright! I would just at least check it out when you stop through the small town of Williamson, West Virginia. Avoid the fast food and try the sit down restaurant. The prices were moderate for the other food items depending on what you get. They also have a large variety of food from steak and ribs to a burger. In fact you could get a nice hamburger for only $3.75!!!
