I must have driven past this place thousands of times, and I kick myself for every one of those times now. Just seeing the pastries in the case as I opened the unassuming steel door made my mouth water. Baklava in several different flavors , meat pies, giant cookies, and a few other pastries. I opted for pistachio and chocolate baklava and one spinach pie and one meat pie. They gladly offered to heat the pies, which made them piping hot and nice and chewy. The pistachio baklava was as long as my hand and covered with chocolate icing: one piece was big enough and rich enough for my whole family to share. Both the pistachio and the chocolate were fantastic and had a taste of homemade authenticity: not the oily/ fatty sugar icing and flat flavor you get at the Wal Mart "bakery." The menu listed a wide variety of tasty-looking Lebanese dishes as decent prices, and I will definitely be back soon for lunch.

Love this place. Had a business lunch here the other day and had to get the platter to go. The pita is fresh and fantastic. Hummus was garlicky but not overly so. Baba was fresh as was taboule . The feta was amazing and salty. Last but not least the chocolate baklava was amaze balls! it is definitely a no frills place but the food is worth it. At least try takeout - you'll love it

I stopped in at this place for an excuse to cross another state off my list, on a long drive from NJ to Chicago. Although the surrounding area is none too impressive, the food was delicious. I ordered a hummus-tabouli sandwich and a baklava. I'm a bit picky about my tabouli, and I thought their's was great. The hummus had a decently strong tahini taste, which to me just says it's freshly made in-house. There are a TON of different kinds of baklava; I had the walnut I think. The filling was delicious, but it had chocolate on top, which I scraped off because I thought it was too sweet. It's a little bit pricey for a sandwich shop; for $16.77 I got a whole sandwich, which to be fair was quite large, a bottle water, and a baklava (also quite large). But if I'm ever in Wheeling, WV again, I'd go back. (20 cents for 40 minutes of parking? I'll take that any day over Chicago!)

Make this your first stop for Mediterranean food. Hummus, spanakopita, grape leaves, many meat pies, several delicious baklava. Lebanese and Greek food abound. Simple interior, 4 tables and lively conversation.

A shabby, homey little hole in the wall with the best Middle Eastern food around! The owners treated me like family, even on my first visit. Although famed for their (delicious) meat pies, I had an amazing gyro today. The meat was just spicy enough, and the sauce was the best I've ever had...tart and tangy. The baklava comes in half a dozen flavors, and is almost a religious experience in and of itself. This is a can't miss when it comes to local Wheeling eateries.

I have been coming here since I was a toddler! My father's business was right next door for fifteen years. We'd walk over for lunch and snacks every time I was at his shop. My family moved away to Texas from Wheeling in 1997, but whenever I visit I always go back. Everything tastes just as good as it was when I was a kid. The Spinach pies, Kibby, Pepperoni Roll, pita, grape leaves, and of course all the desserts. Somebody else posted about their dough, but it's true. The dough that encases the pepperoni rolls and meat/spinach pies, etc is on it's own level. And you can't get pita like this anywhere else. It's soft, fluffy, thick, and most importantly Doesn't Break when you open it and stuff it full of goodies! Oh the desserts. Baklava, cookies, buckeyes (chocolate covered peanut butter balls), nut rolls....I love their nut rolls...So so delicious. The owners are soooo nice also. I just love this place and can't wait to be able to go back and indulge.

This is across the street from a new high-tech bldg/company; the name escapes me. But that doesn't matter. What does matter, is how delicious the butter "ouzo" cookie and walnut baklava was! Hmmmm, I've tried lots of bakery items around Pike Place market over the years, but never have I tasted such a delightful burst of buttery, sweet, and savory flavors of the baklava served here. The staff is delightful, they've been in business for 50 years! I actually bought a spinach Fadul, but didn't have time to consume it before traveling onto the next city. I'll definitely have to come back to finish what I started.

I never knew pita bread until I had some from this bakery. They remain delicious memories and made me want to explore the world beyond the Ohio Valley. Sometimes, a well-made bread is all it takes. Yeast, flour, water, salt, and lot of love.

First off, I did not get any desserts here. I ordered a meal. I was ecstatic to see that there was a Lebanese place right near my new home. Lebanese food is one of my joys! I ordered a chicken dish, with a side of hummus. The garbonzo beans in the COLD hummus were severely undercooked. It was filled with semi-hard bits, and was lacking the necessary evoo. That was, unfortunately, not the worst part of the meal. The chicken was discolored in the fashion that occurs when you leave it in a refrigerator uncovered for an extended time. It was dried out, and gross. I couldn't eat it. It would have probably given me food poisoning! On top of that, they have absolutely NO lamb! For real? At a Lebanese restaurant? To be fair, I did not try any of their pastries. The food turned me off way too much to continue forward with my meal. People around talk well of the place... I must assume that is because the people around have never had good Lebanese food!

The desserts we got here were great! They had an interesting variety of things. Good for takeout, atmosphere was horrible. Some guy off the street came in and yelled at one of the workers while we were there... a little confrontational. Keep to takeout!
