Year after year, ski trip after ski trip, Foxfire is the place our family looks forward to dining at. The wait can be ridiculous in the winter, at least after 6 p.m. - 1 hour and 45 minutes this evening. The fact is that the food and the ambience can't be touched on this mountain, however. It's just the best and indeed is worth the wait. Tonight, our party enjoyed the salmon, the surf and turf, the macaroni and one heckuva great hamburger. If you come to Snowshoe, you've got to check it out.

Ah Foxfire. I have been to Snowshoe many of times before but we had never figured where Foxfire Grill was or when we did finally find it it was packed. I'm like anyone else - I love a good K&T but I was not ready to hang out with sooo many folks without having a few good drinks before. Anyways, since we were here later in the season we decided to drop by for an early dinner at around 5pm. There were people at the bar and we joined them. It was a fun scene! We finally decided we need to sit down and we kept the drinks coming but got some food. Never go wrong with a burger so I ended up getting the burger which is naturally an excellent way to continue the day on the slopes. The waitress was very friendly and was engaging. I I liked the atmosphere and look forward to returning for both the food and for lodging as well (as I hear good things). I would return.

One of our favorite places to eat at snowshoe, however, Wait could be really long during weekends so arrive early. No reservation or take out. And delay is not just for waiting to get seated. Last two times we ate there (for late lunch both times) it took over 45min for the food to come out after we placed the order. And the restaurant was only about half packed. First time the waiter told us the reason it took so long was because the main chef was not working. For our last lunch there this past Saturday, two of us had already finished eating by the time the other four finally got the food.

We had a late-night snack at the bar along with a few drinks our last night in town. The buffalo chicken dip and fried pickles were both tasty and the bartenders very friendly. We saw both tourists and locals alike enjoying themselves in the bar. Great vibe!

Considering there are very limited options in the Snowshoe village area, this is one of the more decent dining options here! The portions are quite large and each meal comes with a tasty little corn muffin. Everything here is pretty tasty although probably saturated with sodium. Be wary though as the wait times get RIDICULOUS! That's what happens when you cram four restaurants at the most densely populated part of Snowshoe mountain. Highlights: Surf and turf, brisket sandwich, mac and cheese, CHEESY GRITS! Definitely one of the best options to go with.

We were on the lift and I was talking to a fellow skier/snowboarder and he recommended going to foxfire grill. When we first walked in the atmosphere was very cozy. Nice warm welcome with holiday decorations surrounding the dining area. We sat down and our server was quick to come by and welcome us. He took our drink orders and asked if we had any questions he would be happy to answer them. I ordered the surf and turf and my friend ordered the big 20oz bone in ribeye. Let me tell you these portions were huge! (If you are sharing a meal they do charge an extra 3.50 per plate). The surf and turf I got was delicious. The shrimp were nice sized and the steak was cooked medium rare. Just how I like it. Although it was a bit more tough than the ribeye, it was still good. Instead of the baked potato I got fries so that I could dip it with their many different sauces. That was good too. I forgot the names of them but they had a list with it to explain each one. There was also a corn muffin that came along with the meal. In the words of our server "those little guys are awesome!" They sure were! The bone in ribeye was so tender and juicy. Every bite almost melted in your mouth. It came with a baked potato also and veggies. Overall I had a good experience and our server was cool too! When we left he said "I'll see y'all on the slopes."

Foxfire Grille at Snowshoe, WV is a good place to eat. They have a good variety on their menu and the service is good as well. It is in the middle of the Village located on the north end of Rimfire Lodge. They have a full bar and plenty of seating. There are also vegetarian options for vegetarians. They don't take reservations so it is a good idea to dine a little early or a little late if you don't want a wait. There is also outdoor dining for the warmer months. I gave Foxfire Grille 3 stars, but it is one of the best places to eat on the mountain. It probably deserves 3 1/2 stars but 4 stars would be pushing it compared to other 4 star restaurants I've rated. I do like to eat here and can recommend it.

The food is excellent; especially in comparison to the other restaurants in the village. I've tried the mac & lobster and the roast beef and both were very delicious. It's a little on the pricy side, but it is a resort after-all and at least this food is worth the extra. As an added bonus, they have a great selection of whisky and bourbons!

Great food! Good burgers, vegetarian sliders, brisket sliders, hung over again sandwich and hunk o hunk sandwich. Liked it a lot! Our waiter, Harrison was awesome too!! Will be back next year!

Service was good and prices were on par with the rest of the mountain. I am fairly certain the ribs and barbecue were purchased fully cooked and reheated. The chicken is good. The beans and coleslaw are fair.

Had dinner here for the first time last Friday evening. We had a large group so I didn't expect to get a table right away, but 2 hours? They don't take reservations. Took 20 minutes just to get a drink at the bar. When we finally did get a table, their food was awful. Had the BBQ ribs which were tough and not very flavorful.

So we are here the week before Christmas and it was packed. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Once seated it took a very long time to get our food. A minor part of the order was wrong (wrong kind of fries). Once we got our food it was excellent. Also our server was excellent making sure our drinks were always topped off. If it wasnt for the wait time for food this would be a 4 star review.

A nice spot with a great location. Most items are pretty well priced and they have a decent variety of American food. On our first visit I went with the Hawg Wings appetizer as a meal thinking it would be quite a nice little stack of wings. Sadly, the plate only came with two wings. Seriously? They were delicious and the sauce was spot on, but $10 for two ribs? C'mon. We came back the next day for a a hunk a hunk burger on our friends recommendation and it delivered. The pork on it complimented the bacon perfectly. Quite a selection of sauces to choose from but some of them aren't too great. More specifically, the North Carolina BBQ. It definitely was not like a really vinegar based Eastern NC sort of sauce. Nonetheless, this is a fun spot with good service right of the slopes. Well priced, good atmosphere, and good food.

My brother spent a day destroying snowshow mountain recently and decided to try foxfire for lunch. The atmosphere was lively and the views down the mountain were pretty sweet. The only problem was the brew selection. You walk past the Spruce restaurant and you see boxes and boxes of good brew. You expect to see a similar selection at Foxfire. Not so! They still had a couple good ones but I would like to see a a better selection. Food: I had the Hangover Sandwich Part 2. Chicken fried steak, fried egg, swiss cheese, and a tomato on a kaiser roll. This was a very good sandwich. You know what could have made this a mind blowing sandwich? A BISCUIT! A big fat buttermilk biscuit. Either that or make it two smaller sandwiches on regular sized biscuits. The key is biscuits. Biscuits, I say! Brew: You are aware. Service: The young lady in charge of our table was quite busy yet friendly. Overall: I would recommend Foxfire. Granted, you are at the top of a mountain and your selections are limited. Still! Go!

Foxfire's kitchen is open later than any other place in the Village, which is nice when it's late on a Saturday night and you're hungry after a long day of snowboarding. We discovered this after we tried going to Yodeler's and found out that they had stopped serving food 5 minutes before we got there. Foxfire was packed when we got there and we had to wait a bit, but we were able to get a table and food. I'm fairly certain that they kept their kitchen open longer because of it - we were told their kitchen closed at 11, but it was definitely later than that by the time we were seated. I got the Honest to Goodness Southern Barbeque (which was a pulled pork/coleslaw sandwich) with sweet potato fries. With the disclaimer that I was somewhat hungry at the time, I thought that it was pretty good. Nothing amazing, but a decent sandwich/fries, and not horrendously overpriced. They don't have a ton of beers on tap, but what they do have is a very good variety, with a couple of local brews thrown in.

Easy to see why this place was so packed on a Friday night, as it's one of the few places to eat at The Village. Was trying to get into Old Spruce ( yelp.com/biz/old-spruce-… ) but the kitchen was closed, and Foxfire was the beneficiary. Walking in, it felt like a crowded cafeteria - noise and hustle and bustle everywhere, which was a little unusual given that they bill themselves as a fine dining experience. Menus are presented between two pieces of wood - a little obnoxious, as they're too large to comfortably open with others at the table. Echoing what others have said, service was slow - which isn't terribly unusual given that they were so busy, but the timing of appetizers to entree was off, and we ended up with a very full table of food. All in all, it was okay. Food was good, but priced a little high - captive audience when you're on top of the mountain, I guess. Will look forward to trying Old Spruce next time.

OMG terrible. I heard about this on the lift from another skier but will be sure to tell everyone I meet on the chairlift not to go here. I got stuck up in the village when they closed the trails today was starving so went into Foxfire even though I rarely eat in the village. The bartender was so rude, acted as if she didn't see me and focused on doing side work even though there were customers at the bar. After she threw a menu at me and turned away to do her sidework again, I was left trying to catch her eye when I wanted to order. Finally I just asked "can I order now?" She replied extremely sarcastically "yea I SAID you could order whenever you were ready." Cools, well since you were cleaning out the bar spouts or whatever for the past 15 minutes, maybe I didn't feel like shouting my order over the bar noise? Idk, maybe just me. Finally I tried to order the burger medium rare. "NOPE", she said" only medium well." awesome customer service. "Ok" I said, "I'll do it. What the heck.". However, miss attitude yanked the menu out of my hands and must have tuned out everything I said because about 40 starving minutes later I asked "so could you check on that burger?" "oh, you said you didn't want it" she replied Um what? No, I did NOT say that. "Oh yea, because you couldn't get it medium rare". Are you seriously going to argue with me about what I supposedly said? too bad you didn't pay attention to what I actually said and started walking away before I could finish my sentence. At no point was anyone like, "oh wow, I'm sorry about that! beer's on me!" or any of the sort of things I often said to customers in this circumstance during my 10+ years of serving experience. Even though I was still wearing my ski boots and was STARVING, I chose to pay my check and lamely hobble to shuttle, take the bus to Top of the World to pick up my car and drive all the way down to the base of the mountain to eat at Route 66 rather than eat here. That's how BAD the service was. I am a season pass to snowshoe and vow to tell every person I encounter at Snowshoe how terrible Foxfire is. I will make it my personal mission to make sure that no one I personally know ever visits this restaurant.

Poor service, overcooked ribeye and 2 hour wait after being told 1-1 /4 when we checked in. Very disappointed.

Stopped by here one night to get out of the valley after several days at the Observatory. Even in the off season (Friday before Memorial Day) the restaurant was fairly well attended - maybe 40% of the tables were full for dinner. I had the burger topped with pulled pork, bacon, and (an) onion ring. The burger by itself was nothing fantastic, just a good quality burger. A decent portion of pulled pork on top which was a bit sweeter than my usual preference, but still tasty. Five or six sauces were on the table with a neat description card for each. None all that thick, which made dipping my fries tricky, but several were tasty and mixed well together to round out the burger.

Came here during a trip to Snowshoe for dinner. Food was overpriced but not by too considering it was on-site at the resort. Ordered the burger which was a little ridiculous in the fact that you had to pay extra for normal condiments (I believe it was onions). A nice option they offer is to sub sweet potato fries in place of french fries at no charge. Both the sweet potato and french fries were very good and reminded me of Mcdonald's french fries. This place loses a star because of the poor service. This seems to be a trend at all the establishments on this resort as the majority of servers and bartenders i've encountered are rude, inconsiderate and forgetful. During this experience, our server forgot our drink order twice and half of our table's dinner order (he had to come back to retake their orders). I'll be bringing my own food next time I come to Snowshoe.

I can't say much on this place, but what I can say is about two very important things: service and dessert. After experiencing some pretty lackluster (and actually a few cases of downright awful) service from folks around the area, Foxfire Grill was a breath of fresh air as the bartender was genuinely a kind dude. They were understaffed a bit and it was an hour or so before closing time but the place was pretty busy. Despite being the only bartender on shift, he still gave us the time of day, literally, and was really helpful in getting our to-go order out just in time for the last shuttle of the evening back to the bottom on the mountain. Besides the tableside s'mores, all other dessert options have lots of ice cream involved. Cool...but aren't we at an ice cold ski resort? Cold on top of cold is not my fave, and transporting ice cream to-go on a potentially jam-packed bus full of skis, snowboards and tired people seemed like it'd be a hellacious and ultimately melty and sticky experience, but no. The bartender packed everything in our apple pie a la mode just right and it was surprisingly still warm and delicious by the time we got back. Sweet!

My experience this time around was much better. After experiencing some disappointing pizza at Cheat Mountain Pizza Co across the walk, we decided to give this a try again. This time we just stopped in for appetizers and bar service. The bar was excellent, cozy natural wood bartop, friendly attentive service, and most importantly, pretty cheap compared to the rest of the village offerings. The beer cheese and pretzel bread appetizer was fantastic. They had cold trail ale (mountain state brewing) on tap, which is a fantastic brew we tried first at the brewpub outside of Timberline/Canaan ski resort. Now having been to snowshoe a few times and trying a lot of the places there, foxfire I think has become a top choice on the list.

I have been here 4-5 times and its always overpriced and over crowded! There are so many people in there you cant even think, its like a unorganized nightmare! Guaranteed the bartenders aren't friendly , EVER. There was actually a fist fight in there the night I was eating... The food was good but other than that I wasn't impressed. Stay away from here if you have young kids because there are belligerent drunk Twenty Somethings cussing and telling stories at ear cracking levels. If you can get in here on a uncrowded weekday you probably will enjoy your meal, stay away on the weekends at all costs.

This restaurant was great. I went with a group of 5 other people. The server was really good about greeting us and getting us our drinks promptly. She also had good suggestions for drinks. It was so nice to have good service. We didn't have any wait for dinner on a Sunday night. The place was very busy, but it's a large restaurant. We got wings, wings, wings for an appetizer and they were very good. Everyone's food was delicious and it came out in a timely manner. We had the pulled pork, po boy sandwich, portobello avocado, and a burger. I definitely would recommend coming here. The prices are reasonable too. My only suggestion to management is that the menu's are huge and are backed in wood. They take up a lot of space on the table.

The place to eat (and drink) on the mountain. Pricey but so is everything when you exist in the bubble that is a ski resort. Hunka Hunka Burger is by far the best thing on the menu. I also really enjoyed the app sampler plate. If you have a choice I would get the sweet potato fries, they are best side on the menu. The only thing I would wish was better was the staff, they seem understaffed and trained, leaving tables hanging for quite some time. If you drink give the Cold Trail Ale a try, it is a great unfiltered wheat beer.

Great steak and pork. The cheesy grits are very good. The price is high but the food doesn't disappoint. The prime rib was 39.

This is Snowshoe's casual standby. I remember over 10 years ago when if was Eli's Grill and it captured the clientele. Then it was improved under the Brian Ball restaurant empire, became his ex's property, and now is independently owned (Kathy, who learned from both of them). The faire is yuppie redneck and, yes, you must come early in ski season because it doesn't take reservations and the wait times are horrendous. Outside seating pretty much year-round. Awesome on-tap beer selection. Their ahi tuna on noodles is to die for. And for those who count their carbos you can have it on a salad bed.

Fox fire grill was a great choice for lunch while enjoying a day of snowboarding at Snowshoe Mountain! I had a steak salad that was great and my brother had something with a fried egg on it that he loved. This place has it all; a cool mountain atmosphere, great food, friendly service and ski slopes right outside :) I would recomend it.

Walked in to an hour wait for the dining room. Found a place in the bar area (first come first serve). Win win. Ordered food and apps. Apps took about 25 min. Understandable. Friday night. Busy. I get it. Food took another 25. When the food arrived the food was already cold. Spoke with the bartender about the cold food with no response or offer for new food. My party muscled down the food as we were starving after a day of skiing. Worst part. Spoke with the manager about the experience. She offered 20% discount. With no apology or any other offer. Employees get a better discount than we just got for crappy service and awful food. I was looking forward to coming here after hearing from friends about the great food. On a vacation for a few days I will not be returning. Sad but true. Better luck next time

Take my 3 star review in comparison to other places on the mountain to eat. As other reviewers have written, you need to rank ski dining on a much different level then the real world. This was easily the best place we ate on our ski weekend. The wait for a party of 4 on Saturday night was 45min to an hour. So, we found a table in the bar, bussed it ourselves and hunkered in. There is no table service at the bar, so ordering consists of trying to muscle yourself in between bar patrons and waiting for about 10 minutes to get a bottle or draft or whatever you decide to order then waiting for your name to be yelled so you can pick it up. The ale cheese dip with pretzel bread was pretty awesome. I can honestly say the chipotle sandwich was so good I ordered it twice on consecutive nights, one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Mac and cheese was a decent side, our sweet potato fries were very cold. A buddy got a burger and it was charred and didn't look very good. My wife got the turkey melt and loved it.

This is a cozy spot to refuel after a day in the snow or traipsing over the mountainsides. I was very hungry, so though I didn't need to quell a hangover on this particular day, I chose the Hangover Sammich, of grilled pork tenderloin, fried egg and on toast, with BBQ sauce on side. And oh, a wide geographical selection of BBQ sauces, from the Carolina mustard style down to Texas. Instead of fries or side salad to accompany my sandwich, I went for the mac and cheese: rich and creamy, though without the cheesy crust that sometimes adds to the mac and cheese experience. We also tried some fried pickles for appetizers - all you would expect for a state fair delicacy. I was pleased to discover a new beer here, from the Martinsburg, WV brewery, Mountaineer beer. Good stuff!

3.5 GREAT bar food and appz. Awesome pale ale (can't recall the name right now), I'm not so much a beer drinker so I was happily surprised to find something I really, really enjoyed and the place felt very home-y and laid back. So we decided to return here for dinner too. Not such a good idea. Place was obviously really crowded with it being opening weekend and the food was NOT as good at the items we got earlier in quality or price. So that was disappointing but now we know to grab dinners elsewhere, or maybe just try for something simple like a burger (don't opt for a steak or pasta dish here, definitely not worth it).

Excellent food and service! We ate here for lunch and returned for dinner the same night- it was that good. The BBQ sandwich was smoky and juicy, and "maw maws" cole slaw is delicious. Wings were tasty, as was the burger my son had. Dinner fare was equally good- my hubs and daughter shared a huge BBQ platter that includes ribs, chicken and pulled pork - while the ribs weren't the best ever (an honor reserved for Phil's in San Diego), they were still good and smoky. My son had an enormous steak that was tender and flavorful, and I got an amazing Mac/cheese/shrimp/crab/red pepper/garlic dish that was advertised as being in Southern Living-- out of this world! And dessert- omg, the bread pudding and apple dumpling a la mode were delicious and shouldn't be skipped. Service was excellent on both visits, bar had good drinks at decent prices ($3.50 bottle beer, $6 wine). It was crowded and loud when we were there on a frigid Saturday- plan to wait 30 mins at least for lunch, 45 mins for dinner.

The pulled pork is somewhat mushy, no solid chunks of meat. On the bright side they have a small craft beer selection from Thomas brewery. We enjoyed the good service and west facing sunset view.

So overall, Snowshoe is not a dining destination. The restaurants are packed at key times, the food is average at best, and I got the distinct impression that the chicken from my pulled bbq sandwich was the same chicken happening in the quesedillas I had at the Junction. Also, they refused to add in vegetables or make changes, and I suspect that's because of the sheer volume of food they are pumping out. Also, it might be a good idea to divide the restaurants into family and adults, so that my grown up friends aren't cussing in front of your 3 year olds. I suspect that both groups would appreciate that division. BUT the staff is really friendly, and they seem to really dig their jobs, and do offer up good suggestions. I had a wonderful time at the Junction and at Firefox Grill, mostly because of the staff and the fun atmosphere. The beers were the highlight, which was fine with me anyway.

Great place to go for a casual dinner on the mountain. We both had local beers, which were great. The BBQ is very good, and there are a lot of different sauce options that are fun to try. The Burger with Pulled Pork and bacon was delicious as well. For dessert we really enjoyed toasting marshmallows at our table, which was a fun novelty. A little pricey for what you're getting, but for being on the mountain and walking distance from most lodging in the village it is reasonable.

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Really. For being at Snowshoe the prices aren't that bad and the food is always exceptional. We've never had anything we didn't love. Has a great atmosphere and the staff are always kind and on point. Also, the bar has a good, laid back evening/late-night crowd.

We can't review the food or drinks because the service was so bad, we never even had a chance to eat. We showed up on Fat Tuesday. There was a sign outside that said they would stop serving food at 8:45. We showed up at 8:15 and were told to try to find a place at the bar. Meanwhile, half of the restaurant had tables that were unoccupied, and when we asked why we couldn't sit there, we never got a good answer. After wandering around the crowded bar and getting the same refusals for help from each person we talked to, we decided to leave. Stay away.

I've been here a couple of times now. First off the place is nice and cozy especially after hitting the slopes, and you need some warm air to hit your aching body. I'm a fan of West Virginia's tap water...AT ALL, but that's not the restaurant's fault. Although the soft drinks are free refills, the amount of ice in each drink is OVERKILL. My previous time there I enjoyed a burger and fries, this time a Yuegling beer battered fish sandwich, and it was awesome! The fries weren't all that great, but it didn't take away the tasteful meal in whole. The service was nice and fast, especially with all the traffic in the area. The prices are VERY reasonable, so you don't have to do the whole, "you want to split a salad thing," with your cheap date. I highly recommend this place, it's a whole lot, for very little.

Just came back from 2 days of incredible skiing at Snowshoe. Yes ....April and the best snow ever. We caught the last week open (they extended the season) and we got a great deal on lodging and tickets. Because of the last week there were few choices for dinner. We landed in the FoxFire Grille 2 nights. It was moderately busy but got seated right away and no real wait for our meals. We tried the comfort meals and got plenty for the price. Good local brews on tap. Much better here than the Junction the night before. A lively place for a decent meal.

Worst possible restaurant I have ever been to. The hostess want to herd you to your seat, and if you ask to be seated else were she'll ask you to wait and never seat you. When you ask to speak to the owner she refuses to call. Over priced told to us by an employee on the ski lift, they said "Eat next door same owners, better people, better food and less expensive." No stars "it' will just ruin your day"

This is always my go-to to complete the mountaintop experience. The location is warm and inviting with million-dollar views of the western mountain range. The food is a West Virginia twist on soul food. BBQ, mac and cheese, burgers, and beyond. The menu seemingly changes seasonally however the popular staples remain. They have a great bar scene with local brews on tap. Service is good, but there have been several times it may have taken longer than neccessary for drings or entrees. However, I don't go to sit-down restaurants if I want to be in and out, particularly this one. As a staunch advocate for drinking in the great outdoors, this place has the best patio in the Village. Great in the summer, not so much in the winter. Bottom line--go for lunch if you have the time. Otherwise, go early for dinner and make an evening of feel-good food and drinks.

Classic mountain top tourist trap. Jam packed during ski season and the staff had a hard time handling the large crowd. Waited forever for a table, the host actually gave away our table at one point even though our party was waiting by the bar. Food was decent. Lunch menu was bar food, reasonably priced.

I visited with a party of three during prime dinner time on a Friday night. Initially the hostess politely told us it would be a 20 minute wait (what I expected considering how crowded it was), but we were seated in 10 (even better). Our waitress was friendly and attentive despite being busy. Some items on the menu jumped out at me as overpriced, but I got away with a burger & fries and two beers for $25 including tip, not too shabby. Our food came out in decent time and it was served hot, so no complaints there. There might have been one time when I had to wait for a drink refill but it was prime time on a Friday night so I was not surprised. Overall I was happy and would recommend this place to others.

Yes, I know that foxfire is in a ski resort and that you cant grade a resort restaurant on the same scale as you would one in your local neighborhood... with that being said... this place is horrible. - Been there on multiple occasions. I have never even heard rumors of a hot french fry being served. Its small, easily correctable details like this that makes me think they just dont care. (Every soda I have ever had has been way out of whack as well) - All burgers are your basic costco/kirkland patties burned 3 degrees past anything resembling flavor... I think that pretty much is the same with all of the mountain (cant blame them when you dont know when the next food delivery is making its way up) but at least at other places you arent waiting 2+ hours and paying twice as much. - Mac and Cheese... a random assortment of noodles with more oil than cheese - Granted I have much less experience there but if looking for dining in the village Sunset Cantina is (IMO) a much better choice.

It was an ok place if you ignore the food. The waitress was very pleasant and service was good (as it should have been since the place was uncrowded). My wife and another in our party ordered very impressively described salads and received nondescript iceburg lettuce salads. My gyro came with only 3 thin strips of lamb on very doughy bread, which was a blessing in a way since the meat was burned out and dry. There's some good restaurants in Snowshoe, though not nearly as many as in its far more impressive sister resorts of Whistler BC, and Mount Tremblant, Quebec. I would go to both of the latter locations anytime before returning to Snowshoe, and would certainly skip Foxfire if I ever go back there.

over-priced B.S. - If you're looking for a good, reasonably priced meal... SKIP the Foxfire Grill, and go to either The Junction or Taste of Asia. If you're looking for some good local micro brews, and an above average bar atmosphere... then this is your place.

This is my favorite place to eat at Snowshoe. The menu variety is fantastic, the service is great, it's kid-friendly, and the quality is always there. I've had several different things from the menu and have loved all but one, and that one was ok, it just wasn't my taste. House specialites include the cottage cheese bisque (delightful) and the barbecue (delicious).

They have a pretty good selection of beer, a nice view of the blue ridges of the surrounding mountains at Snowshoe, decent pulled pork (they have more BBQ options for dinner; we were there for lunch). I enjoyed the classic 70s/ early 80s lunchboxes on one of the walls. If you want better food, try Ember, up the road about a mile. We were there in summer, but I think it would be better in winter, where you can cozy up and watch the snow.

Absolutely loved this restaurant for lunch. The location is perfect within the resort as well. Try the BBQ pulled pork sandwich plater. The pork was very juicy and flavored nicely. Can't wait to go back!

Love to eat here! Wish they were open every day..summer limited days of business is frustrating!
