This was the last stop before Cleveland on the roadtrip back from North Carolina. We were starving and had a goal of not hitting up any drive through fast food joints, so this place was a great discovery when we were getting desperate. Even though the sun was getting low and it was pretty breezy, we requested to sit on the patio. It was a perfect evening and I think we were the only people that realized this... Anyways, the important part: food. My flautas were awesome and the presentation of the food was impressive, as TexMex can sometimes look like sloppy piles of mush and sauce. The chips were crisp and the salsa had a nice spice to it. My friend was pleased with her combo meal and I think we were both pretty happy with our last roadtrip meal. Thankfully, we didn't suffer any digestive repercussions or poisoning as stated in another review.

Wish I could give them a 0. I really cannot comment on the food. Once we were brought drinks and the chips, a big old roach crawled across the table and stayed around long enough to have it's photo made. The hubster and I made our way to the door after reporting it to management. He just looked clueless. Doesn't matter how good the food is if the place is not clean. We all know if you see one roach, there are hundreds you don't see.

Meal was average but fried ice cream is best I've ever had. I ordered a grey goose and club soda. I'm not sure they put vodka in there.

Service is brief, yet direct. We were seated immediately and served a round of waters. The menu is expansive and there is truly something for everyone. Many vegetarian and dessert options as well! If we are back in the area, we'll definitely be sure to stop by again!

This is a nice place and one of the best places in Ripley to eat at. The food is good but, some of the wait staff are not as attentive as they should be but, over all great place.

I got the Burrito Mexican style. Tasted great and was a good sized portion. The cheese dip was worth the drive. Our waitress was helpful and was engaging despite us arriving 20 minutes before closing. She undersold the cheese dip. The restaurant's atmosphere open, friendly, and clean. Las Trancas will be added to our next trip through Ripley, WV.

On our way to SC and stopped in Ripley overnight. Las Trancas close is to the Holiday Inn where we stayed and went for dinner. The restaurant is large, clean, friendly staff, great margaritas, good chips and salsa. Great food, very reasonable prices and a fantastic sopapilla for dessert! Beats anything we have had back home in MI and we will definitely stop here again. Highly recommended.

Excellent service. Reasonable prices and quality food. The decor is beautiful and the tables are placed far apart to not be so close to other diners. Loved our visit.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
