4 stars because they actually have a molcajete. They could get 5 stars if they had agua de piña and horchata and accepted Bitcoins for payment. Otherwise very fast service. The carne asada was tender. The beans, rice, and tortillas were all yummy. The salsa with the chips was not too spicy, which I like.

Review for Tampico's 9.21.14 Intro: seated and greeted quick. Atmosphere was pleasant with some neat paintings on the wall and the lighting was ok. Waiter was nice, and had a warm vibe and was kinda cute. Got us our stuff pretty quick too. Gave us free nachos which were good. All three of us: Me, Hubby, and his Dad ordered the same thing, the Pollo Monterrey and it was really good. Right amount of ingredients and chicken was cooked good. I'm sensitive to textures and I didn't have any issues! None of us had any issues with any of ours and we all liked it and we are all stuffed! LOL. Service: Was pretty standard for a place like this. Prompt but not overbearing. Overall: Would definitely return. I've been getting tired of Cheddar's and Applebee's and Chinese food so this was a good change of pace :)

Slow, waiting to pay my bill has taken longer then ordering and eating the dinner. Not a busy night either. Dinner was good but the margarita must have been made by a first timer. Kinda sad.

My only Mexican restaurant!!! Lived it for years. It never disappoints! Cheese dip is the best I ever had....burrito Tampico is my favorite.

April 2014 - Awesome, flavorful, clean, & fast. I have eaten there many times during my month long stay in Parkersburg. I have eaten at a few other Mexican joints also, but found this to be the best. Guacamole is so good and fresh and the chicken fajitas are my favorite entree.

Every time I come here I end up getting the same thing - Carne Asada. It's usually well-cooked (although it's been dry at times). Their rice is really good and I like their margaritas. Their salsa isn't very good; we usually have to add salt, pepper and hot sauce to it, but it's edible. Friendly service. Will come back!

The service and staff were very nice an friendly. The food seemed ok. I had the Carne asada tacos... Meh... They didn't seem to be full of flavor. Had an appetizer and that was ok...

Fast service, friendly waiters, ample food! The steak fajita nachos are my fave here! It's in an old fast food restaurant, so it loses a star for the ambiance, but everything else is good.

Great spot for lunch today. Today's Burrito Tampico was excellent and under $7. Was pleasantly surprised that the beef, rice and beans were full of flavor unlike many Mexican restaraunts I have visited. Wait staff was friendly, food arrived quick and most importantly, the chips and salsa were outstanding.
