Good as usual. Service was good and food prepared properly. As usual, they were extremely busy and was told a 45 minute wait but they seated is in 30.

My family was never much for Olive Garden -- it was always Hometown Buffet, the Spaghetti Factory or the inevitable local Chinese restaurant for birthdays -- but I went a couple times during college for the soup and salad and breadsticks. I haven't really branched out beyond that -- the salad dressing is addicting, though I have so far resisted the urge to buy two big bottles at Costco. I usually get the gnocchi and chicken soup, but pick out the gnocchi, which is always squishy and bland. Next time I'll have to try some of their pasta dishes! No complaints about the service. People watching can be fun here too. FYI: there was a 50 minute wait by 5pm on Valentine's Day, which amused us to no end (and we didn't wait).

The food is always made to the best standards by any Olive Garden chain. My husband and I enjoy an afternoon lunch at Olive Garden on occasion (not necessarily a 'special' occasion as one reviewer tried to note regarding ppl of the Mid Ohio Valley). Anyway, I typically prefer restaurants that aren't chains, but I do get a craving for the Olive Garden every once in awhile. This particular one has a great location near the Mall (great place to eat during the holidays when you're shopping). It's clean and always meeting my high expectations. Normally we have a good waiter/waitress who keep our glasses filled and keep the bread sticks and salads coming. If you are a fan of the Olive Garden, this one won't be disappointing. Downside: Don't come in the evenings on the weekends hungry-you will wait a very long time!

This is the restaurant that most locals consider to be a 'treat' when choosing somewhere to dine out. I will repeat, that The Olive Garden is a 'treat' in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Long lines and moderately priced Italian food for the area--it's aiight. I'd rather hit up Da Vinci's in Williamstown ( yelp.com/biz/da-vincis-w… ).

when you've been eating food as heavy as bricks while visiting the family, sometimes you just need that never ending salad bowl. and chicken alfredo.

I have to tell you..........my husband will never do Olive Garden so when I was out with my mother and my kids, I decided to have a little Olive Garden since it had been SO LONG. And we weren't disappointed! Our waitress, Megan ROCKED! She was very patient while my mother and four kids figured out the menu. It requires my help for the 6 and 9 year old since the Olive Garden has MANY Italian specialties and many other dishes too. My 13 year old son knows he was in an Italian Style "chain" so he ordered a Cesar Chicken Salad and it was plenty! He couldn't finish it. It was also pretty good since I took a taste of his leftovers. My 11 year old daughter, settled on my suggestion and since I wanted seafood and she wanted chicken - we were both very happy with the Alfredo version of each. My mother can't finish ANYTHING. She was full on the Scampi appetizer and two glasses of wine. Go MOM! And my two little guys, who don't dine out much - tried to "Break the Nana Bank" and ordered Steaks. Surprise Surprise! The rare steak was much better than the well done version and we all were thrilled to box their leftovers up for the road. And actually, I was surprised. Olive Garden's 12 oz. steaks were pretty good. Yeah, another reviewer sort of said it, DaVinci's in Williamstown is the area's best Italian. It always has been the best in the Mid-Ohio Valley. But if you find yourself in Parkersburg, near the Grand Central Mall - like I did - with another adult and too many kids - you can't go wrong with the Olive Garden. They have family dining down to a science. All but my son were extremely happy. My 13 year old son complained because the Root Beer in a bottle, came with NO REFILLS. He was our only, DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER. And Nana, she said her scampi was too salty but she says that about everything! Her favorite meal is Ice Cream. And I told my son, you ordered specialty root beer in a bottle - you DON'T get free. Sorry! :) So other than the usual complainers, we were thrilled. I am just glad we lucked out and got such a great waitress. Thank you Megan - we will be back as long as my husband isn't with us. And then you'll find us at DiVinci's...

Review for Olive Garden 2.21.12 Please note:This will be done as an update to the other one. Order1 (mine): I got different items this time. I got the Shrimp and Crab Tortellina Romana. It was really good. It was much better then the seafood alfredo they had. Conistancy was really good and it tasted good. I got a little buzz from it LOL. It made me feel good. The sauce wasn't seperated like the other sauce the other time. Cost:16.75 Order 2 (my husband's): Chicken Vino Blanco. He liked it, no problems to report. Cost:12.50 Order 3 (my sister's): create your own platter. She pretty much liked hers too. Cost 9.95 Service: meal came out pretty fast for us to get it. Waitress was pretty prompt, but not as personal as I liked but I think the style of the place is to let you enjoy your meal with minimal interruptions. Please note: I payed for most of it with the gift card that I received from giving corp. feedback about the last experience. Our total was 47 bucks approx. it payed for 30 of it. Overall: 4 stars Nice improvements Darden/Olive Garden!

Not bad for what it is. As another reviewer noted, a lot of people around here consider it a "formal" restaurant, which it is not. The atmosphere is casual and the food is very reasonably priced. If there is a line, don't waste your time and go somewhere else.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
