Awesome craft beer. You need to put NET burgers on your bucket list. My youngest loves the chicken fingers.

great place and the owner is a huge Marshall Fan. great micro brews and good service. If you are in Parkersburg it is a great place for lunch for sure.

Very cool, casual brew pub environment. The staff is extra friendly as they provide info on the different brews. We enjoyed the sampler. My husband finally found a wheat beer he liked -- Blueberry Wheat brewed on-site. The hamburger was ok. My husband enjoyed the Bahama Mama. It's definitely bar food. The neighborhood gathered in this little pub. Friends very happy to see one another. Lots of contagious laughter. If you're looking for the Ritz Carlton, you're in the wrong place. But, if you're looking for a fun, friendly and casual time, then welcome to the neighborhood.

Very good place. Service was great, food was just what I wanted, burgers and fries with fried pickles. From out of town but next time through Parkersburg I will stop. Do your self a favor and visit.

The best place to go for an amazing no frills burger and fried sides. Their net burger is crave worthy and I need one every time I am in town. Add cheese and bacon with everything on it. Amazing. They also have delicious fries, onion rings and other fryer favorites to go with it. Their brews are good as well. They have a harvest in the fall that is excellent. The service is great. Don't expect anything fancy but you will not find better down home pub food.

Great burgers, craft brewed beers, and fried Pickles! Favorite local hangout. I was local at one time.

Dive bar with some family atmosphere, great micro brews and delicious burgers. Don't let the outside appearance scare you off; what awaits you inside is worth it. The beers are not your typical brews. I enduldged in the Tart Cherry. (I know weird, but surprisingly very good. ) Ask for samples and find a flavor you like. You may like the Oatmeal Dark Chocolate or some other concoction. The Net Burger was awesome and highly recommended. This place is just really a friendly neighborhood bar with both good food and drinks. The service was good and the food reasonably priced. I even got a jug of Tart Cherry Brew to take home. I will definitely revisit this bar next time I am in town.

Great place to eat, drink, and hang out! There burgers maybe the best in town! I don't know why you can get bacon on them but still just as good without. The bottle caps at worth the trip alone.

BIG burgers and tasty micro beers. When you want a good burger this is the best in town!

Burgers quite good, worth returning for, as are fries and onion rings. The rest of the menu is standard mediocre bar fare. Don't get cute. Beers are okay - I like Roedy's Red. IPAs have never quite done it for me here, and IPAs are my bag, man. Porters and stouts tend to be ro-ro-roasty bombs, which is sometimes great in the higher ABV brews and sometimes like drinking an ashtray. Still, fresh-brewed and local beer deserves and gets a ratings boost. Atmosphere leaves something to be desired, but then, why did you come to a divey brewpub? Think less 'Portland beer bar' divey and more 'small town WV play Keno while you eat'. There is at least a decent sized flat screen or two stuck on ESPN, and the bar area is kinda not bad.

This is a true 3-D bar. Dark, Dank and dirty!why anyone would want to eat there is beyond me. I haven't been there since the renovation I will try it out and get back with the review.

First timer, had bologna sandwich and fries and it was very, very good. Can't wait to try more here...sadly I'm prego and can't taste any of their beers this time!

Brought my best bud here to have some drinks before his bachelors party. Great beers brewed here, and the food was good as well! In short, it started a great night and I will definitely be coming back!

Great place to eat! The beer batter fries are addictive!!! Their Root Beer is awesome and they have some great craft beers as well. I always eat here at least once when I am in the area.

The bombdiggity! Love the burgers, fries, beer! Perfect and not to mention the servers ROCK! Love this place. It is NOT a dive bar. It is Parkersburg... So it is what it is.

While looking for a place to have a couple beers I found this place on Yelp. Many of the reviews call it a dive bar others call it a brewery. My husband and I were curious as to what this place was. It's pretty much a dive brewery! There were no seats at the bar so we sat at a table, the bartender came over and described the beers to us and gave suggestions. She brought the beers over to us and asked if we were eating and my husband jokingly said that we would if we had a seat at the bar....she walked up to 2 regulars and asked them to move so we could sit! They did!! We got what we thought was a cheese and meat plate. She brought back a basket that had chunks of cheddar cheese and chunks of salami that must have been put on a burner. There was also banana pepper rings, pickles, crackers and 3 different mustards. I'm not gonna lie, it was good. The place was fun, nice locals and good beer. Don't let the outside appearance stop you from coming in.

Roedy's Red amber ale is worth the trip. Not much for a lone business traveler in Parkersburg, but this place hits the spot. Didn't look very appealing from the outside but inside people are cool and burger is a must.

I grew up a block from here and this is one of my fondest places. The food is typical bar food, but the beer is where it is at. I'm especially happy now that they are distributing their beer across WV. It is such a great feeling to go to Black Sheep here in Huntington and have a Roedy's Red just like I would if I were still in Parkersburg.

This is as good as it gets in Parkersburg, for bar food and micro brew. Understand that even though the locals don't know, food and beer in West Virginia generally suck. No offense to the locals, they're very polite and well mannered people. Understand also, this is not a five star restaurant, and they don't brew five star beer, this is the five star of dark little dives in West Virginia. What they do here they do well, and the five stars are meant to indicate exactly that. Forget Marietta Brewing Co across the river. The brews are uninspired and the atmosphere is pretentious. I'm a transplant from Michigan. I lived for a time in Kalamazoo, and was a regular at Bell's. I lived in Grand Rapids for many years and was a member at Founder's Brewing for most of it. I rode a stool there for hours a week. My point? I know micro brew. If you aren't familiar with these two brewery's, you don't know beer, period. The IPA here doesn't compare to either of these giants, but it's a competent brew. The real star of the show is the Northern Light. You don't see pilsners and lagers done often at a micro brewery, not because they are a common mainstream beer, but because they are hard to brew. They require exacting balance and rigorous temperature control. Even the bigger microbreweries tend to wuss out and over hop a pale ale rather than go for a pilsner. For this reason, the Northern Light is impressive. It's crisp, cool, and clean with a refreshing finish that you will never find in a mass marketed light beer. Most mass market lights finish with a sickly sweet after taste that leads to quick gut rot. The Northern Light's clean finish is shocking coming from a brewery this small. Don't get me wrong, many of their other beers are very drinkable, but the light is the star of this show. If you want an excellent IPA, get yourself to Michigan or to a store that sells Founder's. When you're at The Net, indulge yourself with a truly excellent micro brew light beer. You likely have no idea how rare a find this is, and how lucky you are in West Virginia of all places to have found it. The food is standard pub fare, but is very well executed. The burgers are flavorful and juicy, the onion rings are near perfect, and the wings are top notch. I saw a review from another dude who was fussy about the atmosphere. It's a bar, a little dive, and it's beautiful. It is indeed dark, but it is not dirty. I'm surprised to find someone so fussy in West Virginia honestly. I think perhaps he shouldn't put on airs. I've enjoyed my fair share of five star meals, but that doesn't stop me from loving a little hole in the wall like this gem. That's no insult. It's a charming little place, and I wouldn't change it if I could. Some folks just can't appreciate a variety of experiences in life. They seem to need the same thing over and over. That's what fast food is for, and if you're going to fuss like a spoiled little girl I'd recommend you stick to McDonalds.

Every time I go, I'm always satisfied. No matter who's serving us, the workers checkup on us to see how we're doing at least three or more times no matter how busy they are. I am a huge fan of their French fries and I do like the fact how they bring you a can of pop instead of pouring it into a glass. I wish every restaurant is like that. If you're not from this area, and you plan on going to the North End Tavern, I will warn you, they are really busy on Friday and Saturday evening. I would recommend going there during lunch and not dinner.

In a word: Shocked! I've got nothing against WV, I think the people are really nice people, but when it comes to beer, good beer and some decent food... The state just really lacks. I sat down in what appeared to be, but not quite there, divey atmosphere, and between what appeared to be a couple locals. NET (North End Tavern) as they call it brews a couple of their own beers so I felt more than obligated to try one, so I asked the older, less than stellar dental role model next to me what was good... His response was"5-Way", the 5-Way IPA that is. I was pleasantly surprised by this 8% IPA in a WV bar (side note: this guy was drinking bud light and tomato juice). Now it wasn't the best I ever had, but when you keep everything in perspective... For food I order the NET burger, I guess their known for. It was cooked well and was juicy with pretty good flavor, a damn good burger if I do say so myself. I topped it with cheese, ketchup and spicy brown mustard. I should have asked who's mustard this was because it was frickin tasty with a real nice kick to it. Next time I'm in Parkersburg I will be back, and not just because this is really the only decent place in town. Note: Most places this would probably be a 3 start, but like I mentioned about the beer, keep it all in perspective.

The only place in Parkersburg that I visit on a regular basis. The NET burger is a local classic. Get it with the house-made hot mustard. The grilled chicken is seasoned perfectly and is always very juicy. The daily specials vary from deals on standard menu items to more unique fare such as fried fresh green beans or the roasted turkey with dill havarti on a "salt and pepper" bun. The 5-way IPA is the beverage to which I compare all other IPAs. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is inviting.

I've only been here once to eat, but all the food we got was really good. The fried pickles and fried mushrooms were good appetizers, I loved my sandwich and my husband loved his burger. Would definitely come back!

Classic place in Parkersburg, although I have not been here a whole lot. Always enjoyed the simplistic environment, the way a brewery/pub should be. Didn't order a beer but I have had them in the past and they are good. I ordered the NET Burger, their staple, with skinny fries and I must say, it was delicious, way better than most. They keep it simple, good beef, fresh veggies and grilled it perfectly and not ridiculously greasy. Definitely a must stop if you're just visiting and if you're from here, you should already know!

This may be the first even true "dive" brewery we've visited. While traveling, we always try to hit local breweries/great beer bars. Parkersburg was the perfect location for lunch, so we decided to check this place out. Upon arriving, we had no idea where to go/if it was even open (though my research said it was). We parked in the near empty lot, walked up on the sidewalk to where it looked like there was a patio/door, but it was locked. As we were heading back to our truck, someone walked in what looked like a kitchen door, so we decided to follow. We were in. The bartender was nice and the service was just fine. Nothing above and beyond, but certainly acceptable. The bathrooms still have cloth roll hand drying things. That alone grants this place "dive" status ;) The IPA was fine. Once again, not going to blow your mind, but acceptable. The beers were served on el cheapo Big Top paper napkins (think back yard trailer park picnic) as coasters. These also doubled as the "real" napkins. We both had the burger since they're "the best" according to the previous reviews. Um, not so much. Perfectly ok, but served on el cheapo grocery store buns (again, back yard trailer park picnic). A good bun makes a burger, so we weren't impressed. We also had the jalapeno rings and they were great (super hot), but needed some type of queso dipping sauce to temper the heat and really sent them over the top. Would we make it a point to come here again? Probably not, but you should definately check it out for yourself...

Great beer, and relaxed vibe. A small NET burger is plenty with a generous side of pub fries!

When my boyfriend and I found ourselves in Parkersburg this summer for my family reunion, I began frantically Yelping to find great local places to eat/drink. We love dive bars. We love microbreweries. When we saw the glowing reviews for this microbrewery/dive bar, we got pretty dang excited. We sped over to NET for dinner. We were seated quickly, and our server was pleasant. The menu was pretty short and included standard pub fare (everything is fried). The food was greasy, but it tasted fine. The crowd was local, but we didn't feel unwelcome. Everything was going smoothly until we split a flight. Wow. I mean, wow. Worst beers ever. All of them. Overpowering flavors and funky aftertastes. We didn't even finish our flight, which may be a first for us. We do our fair share of drinking (including frequent beer and wine tastings), so I'd like to think we have reliable palates. NET, you desperately need a new brew master! Sadly, I don't think I'll ever be in Parkersburg again to give your beers another chance.

Old standby in my hometown. Great barfood/sandwiches and cold beer. The atmosphere is worth the visit; If you are from the area, can guarantee you will run into someone you know - it is like Parkersburg's version of cheers... only with bigger burgers. If you are a burger fan, and like burgers as big as your face, the NET burger is for you! Also highly recommend the hot bologna.

Traveling solo and staying in nearby Mineral Wells for the night, it seemed like the "NET" was drawing me in. I was pretty sure from the reviews and recommendations that I knew what I was getting myself in to. So with that in mind, I was not disappointed. Filled with friendly locals on a Tuesday night. Not too dark, if you ask me. Not loud. An older, local couple sitting next to me at the bar further emphasized the recommendation, so of course I had to have the infamous NET burger. They suggested that they think it is SO good because the grill in the back is the original from the early 1900's when this place opened, so it's "seasoned!" It was a tasty burger, although I think mine was a little overcooked and dry. There is a famous local(?) hot mustard that I tried on the side. That was real tasty and gave the burger a little zing. Meant to find out more about it but I didn't. Kind of a Chinese mustard. I was surprised at the quality of the beer as well. Not excellent, but I wasn't really expecting much. I gave the Roedy's Red a try first. Malty and medium-bodied. Not too hoppy (as it shouldn't be). Then their wheat beer (forget the name). This one I didn't find as enjoyable. I don't recall what it was exactly; no bad flavors, but just not really enjoyable. I had the IPA for a closer. I've been in to a lot of the bold west coast IPAs lately, so I found this disappointing, but it was true to style and quaffable. Reminded me of the British style IPAs more than anything, which isn't a bad thing. If you find yourself in the Parkersburg, WV area, this is worth the visit. Everyone says this is the best place in town, so why risk it anywhere else!

I went with friends who were from Parkersburg and knew the owners, so maybe they had built this place up a lot. I just wasn't as impressed as I had expected. The food was typical pub fare, and I was disappointed in the service (even though we sat right AT the bar) until Tommy came out to tend bar. I'd definitely give this one another shot though.

Great micro brew beer and good sandwiches. Simple tavern fare that is well done. Can't beat the burgers.

Born & raised in Parkersburg but left after HS graduation. The NET was my high school hangout. Yea I was underage but Dawk didn't care as long as you had a fake I.D. I was back there about 15 years ago and it was much the same as when I'd left. But last week when I returned for a family function, it was different. It was a brew pub with some great beers & ales from light to full-bodied. Their double-hopped IPA aged in oak barrel may be the best ale I've ever had. But at a staggering 10.5%, I couldn't drink more than one. Wish they could get that kind of flavor with lower alcohol. And while the menu is typical pub fare, they've elevated the food as well. Other than burgers from those big name steakhouses that serve prime beef, this may be the best burger I've had at half the price of those steakhouses and upscale burger joints. We took a crowd of about 20 there on a Saturday night and though it took a while to get all of us seated, everyone loved their food & beer - burgers, wings, bratwursts, salads & grilled cheese. I'll be back on my next return visit to Parkersburg.
