Doubtful i will ever return. Way too big a menu-- they do "everything" but don't do everything very well. There are other, better choices in Moorefield. The quesadilla was barely edible. The beer selection is not that great, either. Only one micro-brew on tap and it was Southern Tier Pumpkin. I like Southern Tier brews, but will never order the pumpkin beer. Oh, and the bar is "smoke friendly" so if you want to avoid smelling like a butt, go elsewhere.

Took friends there for dinner. One sent their steak back because it was dry, hard, cold and cooked like shoe leather. The rice was old, dry and cold. The refried beans were like wallpaper paste but with less flavor. The chimichanga meat was overcooked, dry, cold roast beef covered in a red sauce that would have been better with no flavor instead of the flavor it had. Wish we would have walked and refused to pay. I have had Mexican TV dinners that were a thousand times better.

9/5/15 9:00 pm I have visited this place a few times and have always been a fan until this last time. Our server forgot we were there. No joke. There were 10 people at most when we stopped in. Food was great and plentiful. I am not hard to please in the food category as I know its hard to cook things perfectly for all. The cook is great. Service sucked, this girl shouldn't be on the service floor and the beer selection was not up to par. After a few minutes into our meal , once we got it, the music changed to a foul mouthed garbage rap which was not appropriate for any restaurant. The night manager told my wife it was "after all, a bar , have a nice night ". Highly disappointed, wont be back

There's not a lot of choices for hanging out with some friends over a beer or two in Moorefield, West Virginia. This is the main function of the Stray Cat placed conveniently at the Quarter H and Route 220. Once you get that fact into your head, you will have a much more satisfying experience. Friendly service with a smile, plenty of cold ones and some mexican-style food that goes down well. The place is not going to wow you with excellent cuisine from south of the border, it is WV after all, but they have the basic tacos, burritos etc that will satisfy your hunger. The bathrooms are clean and serviced, the bar and tables are well-maintained. This is a cantina, so there is music and loud conversations going on at the bar. If you have friends in town and need a good place for a casual meet - this restaurant is a great solution.

They get 2 stars because of "wing Night". I had the misfortune of being stuck in this town for training and there wasn't much to choose from. Good thing is I rolled in with some other guys in the course and we made the best of it. Good pool, table decent juke box music, and beer selection. It was interesting watching the local "stunners" try to run their game with lame pick up lines. Don't blame them for trying to snag some sucker to get them out of this place.

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. Cold beer, good food. Everyone I've gone in there I have a great experience. I can't wait to go back.

The food wasn't good. It was very bland and soaked in grease. I kinda liked the atmosphere though and all the decor. What really gives this place 1 star was the horrible service. We stopped in during a slow time, and there were two other tables and a couple at the bar. I ordered a coke and the waitress brought out the wrong drink twice, I finally gave up and drank the sweet tea. We needed a booster seat for our daughter. I stood at the bar for 5 minutes waiting for the waitress to appear and finally gave up. Then on the way to the bathroom found them stacked and got one ourselves. When we were finished we asked for a box and waited and waited and waited for her to bring us our check. Our entire visit here she was on her phone, short with the customers or just vacant.

This is not Mexican. Don't be fooled. Best way to sum this food up is greasy. This place is a grease bucket. I felt sick after eating a few fries. Only good thing I had was a quesadilla and even that was mediocre.

Food was OK. We got loaded nachos and a couple drinks. The taps were not operational when we went. The waitress explained to us that it due to the heat wave. That was upsetting. What is better than draft beer on a hot day?. We had to sit in the smoking section (blech) because nonsmoking was full. The waitress was inattentive and uncaring. It is nothing more than a road side bar with food options...don't expect anything more than that...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
