I'm a big fan of the entertainment book which is book full of coupons. This led us to Fireside grill. The offer was buy one get one on entrees up to a max saving of $8. The entrees was quite expensive a couple for $10.99 most around $15. We decided to forget the coupon and have wings and chips. The boneless barbecue wings was to spicy and the it was the worst blue cheese that I have ever tasted. The chips were excellent but I could have done without the cheese and jalapeños on top. Service was alright even though she was MIA for 15 minutes.

Fireside grill is kind of like an Applebees/ O'charlies style sit down type place with higher prices and similar quality food and longer wait times. Food is cooked on a wood fire grill...I think that is the gimmick here.. I have been here twice and have to update my review....first time I was pretty bummed ...Overpriced greezy fried pickles. Lame house salad...watery ranch dressing. Decent fried chicken, Fair burgers...pretty good bread pudding....but nothing special Last night I had the ribs.....WOW! Most excellent they are....so good I had to bump the rating up to 4 stars Friendly server....Slow service continues... I also noticed they had a live band playing on the side.....might be neat to check out next time I go.

We've been here twice and love it! The burgers on pretzel buns with the different mayo choices are fantastic. So good in fact that when we went back this second time we both had to get burgers. We're excited to try other things on the menu next time.

Do not go there horrible service. I was sat at a table while 4 waiters past us. Another table sat after us and got service while we were ignored. I tried it 4 times with food, speed, and quality of service are hit an miss. I will not go there again.

Gourmet fried chicken and house chips!! Coworkers enjoy the extremely large salads.

Got grease? That's about all you're going to find at this place. Well, that and maybe a 1/2 cup of salt in 1/4 cup of soup. I had the fried pickles (where were the pickles? I thought I saw them ... certainly didn't taste them), beer cheese soup (there's that salt!) and the shrimp with a side of potatoes. The potatoes were mush (note: not mashed) and the shrimp ... while not horrid, I have definitely had better. We will not be going back.

Ok.... I have eaten here 3-4 times now and I think I will probaly not go back. They Over-charge for medi-ocre food. Tonight I paid over $20.00 for their combo meal. The meal consisted of 2 rib bones(menu said 1/3 of a Rack), 1 small boneless chicken breast, and a small 4 oz. piece of salmon( I probaly got a 2.5 oz piece when it called for a 4 oz. piece) a salad and 1 side. The side was a normal size portion. I ordered the au craten pototoes with bacon. Not, No Bacon to be found or tasted. Like I said, I haven eaten here 4 times now and there won't be a 5th. So LOOONNNGGGGG FIRESIDE.....

Service was great, food was ok. The fish had bones in it, but I do recall the menu mentioning that. They should probably just take that off the menu all together or serve fish that they know doesn't have any bones. We also had the artichoke cheese app which was really good. All in all the food was ok, the service was really good but I probably wouldn't go back if I were up that way again.

I ordered salad and within minutes there were about 4 - 5 fruit flies buzzing around my salad. Yuck. When I pointed this out to the server, she asked if I wanted another salad... really???? Looks great from the outside, but food is VERY questionable.

No stars, but have to give one. Food bad. Service worse. Typically if the food is bad you can make up for it in service and if the service is bad it can be made up in the food. NOT HERE. As a professional chef, a server or manager blaming the chef is not a good one, especially if the guest is a chef like me. No reason why we waited for 2.5 hours for food. Large table in front of us or not if you can't clear the board you have no business cooking. Waiting for food is bad, but when you get it and it is not fresh, even worse. The place has potential. The menu is simple but not difficult. The apps were simple enough but took a while. After ordering apps for the table I decided to continue on with some sliders. The beef was more like a NY Ranger hockey puck, burned to a crisp. Not cajun blackened, BURNED! New culinary team and a new manager that cares about excuses, has potential, until then better go on up the road. Oh, the manager did come over towards the end and asked us how things were. When I aksed him about if he was happy to see the hockey puck on my plate, he was speechless as he should have been. Don't waste any time (2.5 hours) or money here until new management and culinary team is on the door...Chef Anderson

This is by far, the WORST place we have ever TRIED to eat at. After driving for 12 hours, all we wanted to do was get a decent meal and go to our hotel for some sleep. This place was recommended. The service was the slackest most ridiculously SLOW we have EVER experienced anywhere. Took longer than an hour to even have our entrees brought out, and that was after complaining to the manager. By that time, we didn't even want them. That "manager" said he would comp the entire meal. We weren't there for a free meal. The food was brought to our table as were about to just leave. He said he would box it up to go. Neither of us wanted ANYTHING else to do with this place, so we told him no, thank you, keep it. After several inquiries during this debacle of what was taking so long, our waiter replied , "I like to pace the courses so my customers can enjoy their dining experience". Really? Really?.... We're grown folks who don't need anyone to decide how quickly we should eat our food. There was excuse after excuse as to what was taking so long as well. The kitchen is backed up, I forgot to put your appetizer in, I was waiting on that group over there. We sat there and watched entire families and other diners eat their meals and go leave while we waited for a glimpse of our waiter (the white kid with the dread locks in his hair). The pink haired waitress and the girl shadowing her, didn't seem to have a problem keeping up with their orders, although they were on the slow side as well. There were gnats or no see em's flying all around and it was so dark in there you could barely read the menu. Kind of makes you wonder what they're hiding. We paid for what we did eat (appetizers and soda) and left. Never in my life have I felt so unvalued as a customer. Another "manager", and I use that term loosely, even tried to argue with us at the cash register before we left, saying we had eaten something that we didn't, and charge us for it. I quickly got him straight on that! Mind you this was on a Wednesday evening, not busy at all, and the service was this poor? I would HATE to try and eat at this place on a weekend. Some advice, either retrain your servers or hire some who care. P.S.The argumentative "manager" could use some inservice training as well or fire him for his lack of customer service skills. After leaving there, I had a delicious (yuck) Burget King kids meal then off to the hotel for much needed peace of mind and sleep. I have never written a poor review about any place before, but this deserved one.

I cant say enough good things about this place. The service was astounding and the food was.. unbelievable. First off, you can smell the BBQ from down the street so its hard enough to pass up. I ordered the wood grilled cajun chicken with apple chutney and a side of au gratin potatoes with bacon. Wow. Every bite was unforgettable. This place is clean, the atmosphere is relaxed, easy on the eyes, and cheap too! My pepsi and dinner was under 12. I was here on business for two days and ate here both times. You wont regret it.

Rarely leave a review but trying to do better...especially when a place exceeds expectations. The hubby and I went here on a busy Friday night. No wait! He got the chicken Cajun pasta and so did I (except I substituted shrimp for chicken). Service was great, fast and food was good and it was hot. Not a ton of meat in either dish but plenty for us. This is a good go--to in the valley. Good job Fireside!

Update: I've been here a few times since. It has been very good. Every restaurant has its bad days.

Not delicious, not reliable and expensive. The service is typically terrible. The food tastes like frozen food section not warmed correctly. They do have a nice patio area.

During business trip ate here for dinner. Ordered pickle chips which were good. Prime rib sandwich was fair. My co-worker order the shrimp and it was good. We were going to split the Lava cake but they were OUT - it is only 6:30... We were by the bar and I saw a trick they use. A beer had been sitting awhile and the server used a straw to stir it to recreate a foam head and then took it to a table. This made it look like it just came out of the tap instead of just sitting waiting to be delivered.

Great place to relax. The staff is great! The fried chicken with the gravy is probably the best I have had in a long time. I am new to town and I go there and have a few beers and they always make me feel welcome.

Sadly we just moved to an area that is 5 minutes from Fireside. We used to drive 20 minutes plus to eat there. Our last two visits had lousy service and food that was sub par. We thought the first recent visit was a fluke, but last night was worse. We were excited to have a nice place for dinner but we probably will cross this place off.

Food was a little pricy and service was slow. It wasn't that crowded either, they had a very nice local beer selection. That was impressive. I orders nachos and my grind had fried pickles. His fried pickles were too salty do his taste, but my nachos were impressive. It was a lot of nachos. Our other friend was a little disappointed in the size of her sandwich. Overall, not a bad place, especially for drinks, but nothing extraordinary either.

I stayed next to this place on a recent business trip, and while we were already going to go based on how the outside looked, a few locals recommended it as well. I had the Black & Blue salad which I felt was a bit risky, but at $8.59, it came with probably 4-6 oz. of perfectly cooked char-grilled sirloin, tons of bleu cheese crumbles, and a romaine mix. (I would've preferred spring greens, but no big.) My dining companion ordered one chicken breast, which came with applesauce... a little strange, but whatever, and one sweet potato. It didn't look like a ton of food. There's an option to upgrade to two breasts for an extra couple of bucks; the one breast option I believe was $9.99. (And for those who are extra cost conscious, my soft drink ran $2.25.) Service was good, also. Really, no complaints. This is really cheap, tasty dining... and I understand wanting to eat fried food that's not overly greasy, but it seems that most of the complaints about grease were from folks who ordered fried food. Skip all the fried appetizers and go for something grilled, their specialty.

I am giving this place 5 stars relative to the area. All the food here is good. It's not 5 stars compared to big city trendy joints. The service is good. The burgers are a twice as good as fat patty's.

Went to Fireside for a nice Sunday evening dinner with our family. When we placed our order I ordered an 8 oz. New York strip and our waiter informed me that they might be out but he would check. I never heard back and assumed that our order had been processed as normal. Our food arrived, less the New York Strip, and I was asked to make another selection. Fifteen minutes later my food arrived along with our bill. This is our second time eating at Fireside and have had service and food issues during each visit. The food can be good, but you're rolling the dice.

I've been here 26 minutes. Ordered when the waiter introduced himself. We ordered a fried app and 2 entree salads. Still waiting on salads and they are not busy whatsoever.

The wife and I stopped at the FireSide Grille yesterday afternoon after finding the Red Line Dinner in St. Albans closed. How was our meal? We both had the barbecue burgers on a pretzel bun. They are great! Very sloppy (the waiter warned us) but very good. In fact I give the burger a 5. I had the house homemade chips. Aw, another 5. The wife had hand cut fries. Greasy and tasteless, a 2. We shared the green tomato with crab topping appetizer and for $7.99 a ripoff. 4 very tasteless slices of green tomato. I rate this dish a 1. I had the side salad and it was small and lifeless. I give it a 2, and that's being generous. I give the atmosphere a 4. Bobby , our waiter, was great! Ask for him when you visit this eatery. He gets a 5+ from us. Overall, I rated the FireSide Grille a 4 because of the burgers and the great job Bobby did with us. I'll be skipping the fried green tomatoes and the side salad though!

We had an awesome experience at the Fireside Grill! The staff was attentive and welcoming. The food was fresh! We were very surprised at the wonderful size of the house salad. I had the grilled chicken and it was juicy, flavorful, and looked great.
