Decided to take my dad here as he was visiting from out of town (last time he was here was when I moved here). Of course, we also had to go on Cinco de Mayo. I will say, their Cinco de Mayo special (margarita pitcher + Mexican pizza = $10) was awesome, and totally got our table hooked on the margaritas, even though they got us the wrong flavor of margaritas. When they brought the Mexican pizza, an appetizer for a table of four they also forgot to bring us plates... I think we all ended up with some of that pizza on ourselves. Normally I order the mushroom swiss burger that's out of this world, but I was in the mood for chicken tenders and they were small and dried out. They did the trick, but they weren't great. But the service was always friendly, lots of true southern charm amongst the wait staff!!

Wow! In Huntington, this is got to be the Best Dinner! We were in Huntington for a week and we tried to look for places to eat; the food was a 4 star but our waiter was great! Somehow Kristen understood our beer needs and she split our appetizer and beers (we shared beer) and no complaints!?!?! Unheard of in LA!!

Typical sports bar. If you like sports bar food, you'll like this place. If you don't, you won't. It won't surprise you one way or another, but a solid place to go if you like sports bar food.

Decent. Nothing to write home about or to praise. Service was okay. Food was okay. Thought prices were high food portions and quality. I tried nachos, everyone talked about them. I have had much better many at many different places. Atmosphere and location was a plus.

Good service. No waiting. The garlic wings were delicious and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone. The poetions were generous, and MANY different beers on tap. Our waitress Ellen was on point, courteous and friendly. I highly recommend.

This is a good place for watching a football game (or three of them playing at the same time). It's a bit noisy and somewhat distracting, but with a few drinks and good company I'm sure this could be fun. As for the food...it was my first visit but I found it very inconsistent. I ordered chips salsa and queso which tasted like pace picante sauce, velveeta cheese and store-bought chips that were somewhat stale. Stay far away from this appetizer. The Sicilian chicken however was tasty and offered just the right amount of goat cheese and a creamy butter and lemon sauce. The chicken was very moist and had just enough seasoning to give it flavor but not to overwhelm the taste buds. Lightly seasoned asparagus mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes accompanied the dish. My suggestion is to ask questions about the menu and avoid disappointment.

You know the appearance of this place put me off, I don't really like the sporty bars. But god damn if the food isn't awesome and the people are nicer than hell!

First it was renovated, wow. The restaurant was outstanding, it exceeded my expectation. In order the bam bam shrimp and a Cobb salad, and I would order this again, and again. Again it EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATION,

AWESOME food and great service. The hot wings are to die for! Lobster bisque soup is by far my favorite. We haven't had anything on the menu that we didn't like. On the rare occasion that something was not made to our preference, they immediately fixed the problem.

I've been here a few times recently and been disappointed. The service was slower than I remembered and the food less spectacular. I do like that they have outdoor seating in the summer.. And you can still always get in without a wait. The strawberry salad and salmon are still pretty good though!

Ran across this place while visiting Huntington. Good beer selection. Appetizer lettuce cups were average. Both us had the steak salad for entrees. Lots of red onion and blue cheese, but not so much steak. What was there was tasty; just feel that the amount of steak did not give credence to it being called a steak salad. One of our salads had tomatoes and the other didn't. Interesting in that neither the kitchen nor the waitress noticed this. Lack of attention to detail says a lot about a place.

A nice burger joint showing dedication to the University of Marshall. Great layout and bar. This place has some memorabilia for the Thundering Herd and is interesting to learn about while you're visiting. The food is good, the service is good. Your average restaurant. If you're a Marshall fan, or just want to learn about some of the sports history - spot in if you have time.

Servers and host staff were friendly. The kitchen seemed a little slow, but the food wasn't bad, once it finally arrived. It wasn't 'amazing' or anything, but nothing needed to be sent back or tossed aside. Best of the meal was probably the bang bang shrimp. Lobster bisque didn't have much lobster at all and wasn't as good as usual. Turkey grinders were a little more bland than before the renovations also, but, they weren't bad at all. If you're into the sports bar atmosphere, you might give it a higher rating, but, if you're going for the food alone, you'll probably find this place lands perfectly under the definition of 'adequate'. Of course, that's a lot better than many of the competitors, so, it may be worth a shot when you're burned out on everything else in town.

A tribute to the university that made this city, Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe is more about the ambiance than the food. You can expect American food that is good but not great with good service at a reasonable price. The interior hosts a mini museum of Marshall's sports memories with a large bar and plenty of seating for most nights. There is also a beautiful patio that sits out in one of the nicest parts of town. Great for groups, kids, and families.

The best thing about this place is that it is enormous and there is a patio for when the weather is nice. The food is just standard American fare. They serve a decent steak salad, and the flatbread pizzas are not bad either. But it's great for lunch bc the service is both consistently prompt and attentive. There is a great deal of Marshall-themed memorabilia, which I would probably find more endearing if the Hall of Fame Cafes were not a restaurant chain. It strikes me as pandering, but then again I am not native to the area, nor did I attend a Division I school, so sports enthusiasm is largely lost on me.

Have eaten here about seven different times. The food, overall, is tasty. Nice, pleasant table service.. ! BUT.. DON'T sit at the bar. Sat there three different times. Slow service and the Lady bartender there is curt and can be rude. So, just stay away from the bar.

:) we are a family of four who take road trips. This whole town was a pleasant surprise. Great shops and decent choice of restaurants. This place had the typical kids menu. No complaints. Husband had the Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich. He really liked it. I had the Margherita Flatbread and enjoyed it. Good service. Sat outside on a lovely evening. Give it a go. ;)

I went with a group of 4 and even though the restraunt was busy we were seated within a couple of minutes. The staff was very professional and the food was great. We didn't have to wait long for our food and the waitress came around quite often to top off drinks. Overall a good place to eat.

Don't usually write reviews....BUT....this place has went downhill over the past couple years. My bf and I used to love it, and still occasionally go there only to be reminded that we need to stop. This place used to be clean, quick and the prices were better. I don't want to knock the waitresses because I think it's more of a management problem with scheduling, but the service has been horrible any time we've went this past year. Frequently seems like half the restaurant is closed off, the parts that Are open you'll have 8 tables needing bussed that are empty while you wait 10 minutes to be seated. Seems like there are often only a few servers for the entire place, so the wait times to even get drink orders taken, much less ordering and getting your food are growing longer and longer. The prices have went up while the food quality has went down. And the drinks, good LAWD the drinks. Ridiculously over priced especially the mixed drinks. Have found on several occasions that when ordering a top shelf Patron margarita at $10+ tastes no better than the also over priced house margaritas. The last ones we got were left without being finished because the sour mix or whatever they used tasted rotten and the waitress never came back to check on us. And we were both sick within an hour of leaving. We've found the last several times we've went the servers will often leave your check on the table shortly after serving your meal without ever asking if you're wanting to order anything else. Which I guess doesn't really matter, because most the times we've ordered another round of drinks, we've had to ask them to take it off the check because they've forgotten to bring it by the time we're ready to leave. Really hate it, because we used to really love it there. Dunno if there was a change in management or ownership, but we've definitely started going elsewhere. Hope they turn it around.

Terrible, terrible service...food is fine but won't be back for awhile. People going in and out of the kitchen were dirty and scratching under their arms...they seemed to be part of the management team? Ewww...just not right.

Best bar in the area! Wifi is great! Beer selection is above average! Way above average TVs. Food is decent. martha is the evening tender!

The only reason my wife and I go back is to be reminded that we really don't like this food at all. Things come pre-prepared and are of very low quality. It is a step below Applebees.

A good sports bar that has a good atmosphere with great drink specials. The food is decent, but the burgers are underseasoned. Salt and pepper would go a long way in cooking good burgers. The steaks and seafood are okay, but the salads are very tasty. This place has plenty of hdtv sets and many places to entertain inside the cafe. The best touch in the place is the Marshall Hall of Fame Walk inside, very classy. Could be a 4 or 5 star place if the menu is changed.

Oh, this place. I actually ate here quite a bit when I lived in Huntington. A friend of mine really liked it and she always wanted to come. I also ate at the the Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe when I lived in Columbus, OH. I never actually went to either of these places of my own free will. They are all just Damon's and they are all really average. The service here was always fine. There was nothing wrong with the food, but I feel as though I could make something comparable at home just by pulling some pre-made Kroger meal out of the freezer and heating it up. It's just average, at best.

I stopped by for a work lunch a couple of weeks ago, and the experience was a pleasant surprise. With a name that makes it sound like a local Planet Hollywood, the food could have been quite poor, and it could have stayed in business, but that was not the case at all! I had the Fried Chicken Salad, and my husband had the lunch special (a pot roast sandwich). Both were easy to get wrong, but they were fantastically good. We were both very impressed. The ambiance and the service are nice as well. This is a winner!

Great atmosphere with above average food. The beer selection is decent and the happy hour specials are solid. This is a fun place to stop by after work to grab a bite and a beer. They have specials during Marshall games too.

First time in at the Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe and my first time in Huntington. The service was solid, better than one would expect from a wait staff of college kids (no disrespect, but college kids who wait tables tend to not be the best) and the food was pretty good. I had the jerked chicken sandwich and it was very flavorful, and the fries were awesome! I won't be spending a whole lot of time in Huntington, but the next time I'm here I would have no problem going back. Also, this looks like a great place to watch some college football on Saturdays.

Service fine. Food very mediocre. Tea is watery. Strawberry shortcake was watery and sour with fakey whipped cream. Salad was terrible, mostly onions.

Call me a sucker for nostalgia, but just the thought of Sundays in the fall make me weak for a trip to the Hall of Fame. I have since moved away, but every chance I have to come home and visit, I have to come here! My friends and I used to stumble down here every Sunday afternoon to catch a football game at the bar, slurp up their amazing french onion soup, and hope to find alumni in town that would take pity on us and buy a round of beer. Not that this place is expensive by any means, but as college kids, free was always best. I am now that out of town alumna that buys a round of beer for the college kids, and I hope that tradition continues! May I also suggest the chipotle pineapple margarita, the southern fried chicken salad and the mashed potatoes! I have heard that everything is made fresh, and it definitely tastes like it. I also very much love the gobs of Marshall paraphernalia all over the place. It's done tastefully and shows the true spirit of Marshall. Go Herd!

Not a bad establishment, your fairly average sports bar. The food was decent and they had a good selection of beer. They also have a lot of displays dedicated to various Marshall University sports teams and has a small area filled with some props from the movie "We Are Marshall" which gives the place a bit of local flavor. This is one of those "safe bet" restaurants, not really adventurous or interesting, but a place where everybody can agree on.

I was visiting Huntington, WV from Los Angeles with my coworkers. I would give the food 3 stars. It was good but not out of this world. They did have lots of choices and good beers to choose from. The server, Kristen, was magnificent! Incredibly attentive and so accomodating. She really made our experience memorable. I give 5 stars on the service alone.

Not terribly hungry. Eating by myself. Perfect time to spend a meal pecking away on my phone. Never ate here before. Ordered a California Cajun burger because of the strange name. Done. Interesting. The burger was thick and spicy. I requested the salsa and guacamole be placed on the side. I did put a thin layer of each on the patty but I should have been more bold. It's kind of strange but I have NEVER had guacamole. I think that fear stems from my childhood and never eating anything green. It also came with a pickle which I immediately ripped off (see above). It also came with two strips of bacon which I removed. Ever since listening to Samuel Jackson's well-thought out diatribe against pork in Pulp Fiction, I too "just don't dig on swine". The burger was good. Waitresses pretty which led to a over-all nice atmosphere. I will probably come back.

Went here with five others for lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food. The waitress was pretty and friendly. My party ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich, hamburger, roast beef sandwich, and rubin. The portions were ample, not oversized, but adequate. I did not see one ugly waitress in the joint, which is important, and the place is huge. The menu was extensive, and had more offerings than typical bar food. There were plenty of TVs around for our amusement.

Ok so I'm torn about this place. Sometimes the food is really good, sometimes it's blah. I've always found the service to be good so no complaints there. The new flatbread pizzas they have are fantastic. Crunchy, lots of toppings, lots of flavor. Now I've had multiple salads here. The salmon is always cooked great, but for some reason the homemade dressings are thick with little bits of sugar. Like so much sugar, the salad no longer feels healthy. If I'm going to have the willpower to order rabbit food for my health, it better be healthy, loads of sugar isnt healthy. It's happened twice now but I've had good luck recently. Now the burgers. Ugh. They always seem to be so greasy that it soaks the bun. I end up eating them with a fork. I'll prob keep going back because this place is sometimes good....

Well...I had to debate this one. I have frequented here since it opened. The Hall of Fame Cafe has gone down hill since its inception. I love the Nacho platter, add some chicken and you can make the nachos a meal. I don't think anything else is to die for on the menu. The new shops and restaurants around it have taken a bunch of the crowd out of the Hall.

  • Peter D.

The food is not bad! Probably the best buffalo chicken sandwich in town. Not a fan of the tomato sauce so steer clear of the pasta. Full bar to enjoy as well. Great Marshall University memorabilia for all sports!
