Had a great time visiting this place. I had a footlong with slaw, onion rings, and of course a frosted mug of root beer. It's just like I remember as a kid. Something about how the mug is so cold that it freezes the root beer on top makes it seem better. The service is great and quick too. I had my food in just a couple minutes and the two attendants checked on me multiple times to see if I needed anything. Can't go wrong with this place.

3 stars for the root beer float ONLY!! Was so excited to eat at an old school drive in restaurant. Hamburger meat had a terrible flavor. I didn't sent it back because it was under $2 Instead I ordered a hot dog because hey, there's no way you can mess up a hot dog, right!? Well it was fine. Pink, salty with some mustard and onions. Nothing delicious but not bad. The root beer float is the only reason I would ever return. Delicious! Also tables were dirty. Needed to be wiped down. When the waiter finally cleaned them, he was spraying against the wind and the spray landed on us and our food. It was kind of funny. Waiter had no clue. He kept spraying away.FORGET TO MENTION: we had a very nice waiter:)

Root beer and dogs. Everyone agrees that's all you'll order here once you've had them. Dine outside under the roof while the giant mug spins above you for a wonderful lunch.

Hotdogs and root beer that makes for a great lunch...or a tailgate as you are going to the Marshall game. Let's face it...Huntington is blessed with great hot dogs and root beer so this place should be on your list. The hot dogs are made a little quicker here than the competition and the root bear quenches any thirst. Be prepared to wait in line as this place RARELY has an open spot in the parking lot or when you get to the counter...the wait can take several minutes(worth every bit!).

Great friendly service! It was like stepping back in time frosted mugs and car hop trays. We had the hotdogs with sauce, onion, and mustard and split a order of the fresh hot fries!

My mother grew up in Huntington and remembers them building this Drive-In. Any trip on I-64, no matter what time of day it is, involves a stop at the Frostop. Yes, I've even had breakfast here. They have a pretty big menu, but honestly I've only ever got the hotdogs. Tasty tasty dog, awesome steamed bun, Cincinnati style chili sauce, and great slaw make a wonderful meal. Wash it down with quite frankly the best Root Beer I've ever had in my life served in a frosty mug. This place obviously still is a Huntington institution as no matter when I've passed through, even during the cold West Virginia winters, it's been packed. The car hops always do a great job rushing around to all the vehicles so try to tip them well.

We went for lunch around 1:00 today and it was packed!! There were hardly any parking places left. This is a huntington tradition. I live in Florida now and when I visit I have to come back to frost top. The root beer in a ice cold mug can't be beat. It's the best! I also had the beef BBQ and French fries, all were great! I hope this stays in huntington!

We stopped here on a trip. It was easily accessible from Interstate 64. If you're a root beer fan, this is your place. The staff was friendly and helpful and on the spot with anything we needed. I got a pulled pork barbecue sandwich and I'm telling you, it was some of the best I ever had. The bathroom is, um, yeah, not good at all, but if you're desperate, it's OK. They serve root beer in real, honest-to-God frosted mugs! They serve hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, fries and onion rings (among other foods). Oh, and the onion rings were terrific. The only seating is outdoor or in your car. Go and enjoy!

This place is pretty freakin cool. You simply drive up, a waiter takers your order and delivers the food on a tray that hooks onto your window, no need for you to leave the car. The mostly serve "American Grill" types items, namely hot dogs, hamburgers, onion rings, etc. etc. but the food is exceptional. The root beer is VERY good and was delivered in a frosty mug to boot. You CAN eat at the picnic tables they have outside but I think it takes away from the appeal of the place. Oh, and I should add that the waiters where exceptionally friendly.

Best chili slaw dog EVER! It has delicious tomato based chili, crunchy slaw and a tasty dog. Great service. Root beer made on site is great if you like root beer. Good burgers. All seats are outside. Easily accessible from I-64. Near campus of Marshall University.
