We were looking for a place to eat while driving west and came upon this little surprise. Great food and good service.

I've eaten here twice now, and once was for a first date with my boyfriend. We were on our way to Clarksburg, and I'm not going to lie- when he picked me up from Morgantown and took me all the way to little old Grafton, and pulled up to this place, my expectations were not the best. But upon entering and seeing the cute, warm decor and smelling the good smells, my hopes heightened. It's an old house with lots of charm, and the servers must have awesome leg muscles from running between both the upstairs and downstairs dining rooms! That first time I had the salmon with rice and roasted veggies, a twice-baked potato, and a side salad. Everything was awesome- huge portions, great flavors, really reasonable prices. The second time I got the cheese ravioli with a meatball, and a salad with french. Ot also came with awesome crusty garlic breadsticks. The sauce was very flavorful, and the ravioli were about three inches wide and stuffed rather thick with cheese. I was glad for the breadsticks to sop up the sauce and the meatball was very flavorful. Definitely the best place to go in town, and also worth the trek from another location!

I lived in Grafton for over about 15 years and I can say with certainty that this is the best in town. They have a pretty basic menu, but everything is good. I've had pasta dishes that I would have again without hesitation. Their hoagies and burgers are awesome also. If you want to try the best they have to offer I recommend the ribs. The ribs are cooked perfectly and the sauce is out of this world. I drive back into town just to eat here from time to time. Well worth the low prices!

I had lunch here today with the bf. We were tipped off by a local that this was a great place to eat and they were indeed right. Gourmet Express in Grafton, WV, is in a quaint 2-story house on a main street in town. The sign does not reflect the true quality and classiness of this amazing little slice of heaven in the middle of nowhere. We had an Italian hoagie with meats and olive relish that was to die for. The bread was also fresh, chewy and divine. It's the kind of delicious meal that makes you close your eyes and sigh the word 'yuuuuuummmmmm', quietly in the soul. The interior has a pleasant decor with good decorations, though I might suggest that some art by local artists might be nice too. Also, I would politely suggest upscaling your chips in some way so that they are more at the level of the sandwich. The Italian meats with olive relish sandwich is a pinnacle of yumminess and deserves slightly better that average chips from a bag. Do I know what that would be? Would it be a homemade chip? A kettle chip? Maybe homemade sweet potato chips or fries? Great service and a good unsweetened ice tea! Thank you. Just some ideas for y'all at Gourmet Express. I hope that you continue to bring good taste to Grafton for years to come.

Gourmet? In Grafton? Seriously? That was our response when my father-in-law wanted to take us there for lunch. Really? Yep! It's good. For real. Try it, you'll see. You won't be disappointed. The restaurant is in an old house. Lots of character, 2 stories, warm colors on the walls, nicely decorated. The food is fresh and plentiful. All your Italian favorites and they are delicious. The chef knows what he's doing and the servers are friendly. They sure get a workout running up and down the stairs between the main floor and 2nd floor dining rooms. If you're planning to go in the evening you might want to call ahead. This place is consistently busy and with good reason.

Yes...Grafton...that dirty little town indeed has a gormet restaurant, and this is it. Cheap and GOOD. A coworker from out of town told me about it. Super clean and smartly decorated. Plush seating as I recall. Ate on the second floor. Wood floors, banisters and molding all make it a very warm atmosphere. Food was great. In an old house right on the main drag.

This place is a little bit of respite from a pretty depressed looking area. I'm staying overnight in a local hotel and was sent here for a good meal. Overall I was happy/satisfied when I left. Some minor things would have made it better. The servers were attentive and nice. I ordered two appetizers. Hot wings and the 1/2 order rack of ribs with fries. She asked if I wanted the wings out first and I said yes. They showed up then the ribs were only one minute behind. Poor timing there in the kitchen. I got there early so it wasn't crowded. I always order hot wings and they are never hot. These were DAMN hot. I'm glad but a little warning on the menu or from the wait staff would have been nice. I likely would have gone with the medium. The ribs were nice and tender and tasty. The fries were nothing special. My drink order was kept filled and this goes a long way with me.
