Best chicken salad you'll ever taste. Favorite place for lunch in town, staff always friendly, and new owners are amazing

Nice little coffee spot/lunch place. Had some work to do while in the Elkins area and they were extremely friendly. Coffee was excellent and sandwich hit the spot at lunch! Had free wifi which is a nice bonus since cell phone service can be a bit slow in elkins!

Tasty sandwiches, free wifi, and bottomless sweet iced tea. No local meat options yet. Soon hopefully!

Fantastic little coffee shop off a side downtown street near the Railroad Depot in Elkins. Larger, but cozy space that gives you kind of the alt-vibe you might find in a college town (I don't call D&E a regular college). Can't believe it took me this many years to stop by. Chai was a little too sweet, but great option in Elkins.

Rolled into Kissel during a road trip through West Virginia and walked in the door without realizing it was five minutes from closing. Staff was super accommodative and let us sit anyway. The sandwiches were fantastic and a welcome change from our supplements of chex mix and fritos. The lattes were only ok, but the kid making them had never done it before, so free pass. They also gave us a box of free danishes. Wonderful staff, would definitely come back - might be worth the detour through Elkins again.

This is a mediocre coffee shop selling mediocre to poor coffee. I ordered a cup of coffee on one occasion and it was mediocre. My everything bagel was probably a Sara Lee bagel purchased from Wal-Mart, it was what you would expect from a Sara Lee bagel. I returned a couple of days later and ordered a double cappuccino and a scone. My order totaled $7.18, which in Elkins, WV is preposterous for a cup of coffee and a pastry. I did some quick math in my head based on the prices on the menu board: $2.59 for cappuccino, $2.59 for the scone, which was $5.20. I inquired as to how much the extra shot was and was told it was $1.59. I've been to LOTS of coffee shops, corporate ones, independent ones, doughnut shops, etc. and have never payed $1.59 for an extra shot of espresso. As I drank my $4.50 cappuccino, I noticed the menu board said that a single shot of espresso is $1.59, and a double espresso is $1.99; therefore, one could conclude that an extra shot of espresso would be $0.40. That's not the case at this establishment. The owner could not/would not explain why she charges so much for an extra shot except to say "That's how much it costs to use the product." When I asked how she prepares the double versus the single she responded with "I don't have to tell you that." It became abundantly clear to me that these folks do not have a passion for coffee. The owner was defensive and rude and demonstrated atrocious customer service skills.I've received better coffee and customer service from McDonald's. I do not recommend this place at all. The scone was ok.

I grew up in Elkins and Kissel Stop is always a staple for me when I visit home. I don't know what would possess someone to review this place as 1 star. Try this place. Great coffee, teas, and sandwiches.
