Yup, it's a panera. As casual as it gets. If the quality were a size, it'd be extra-medium. This chain is the epitome of uniformity. The service/cleanliness/decor is on par with any other panera you've been too. It can get crowded during lunch, so other options might be better if you're short on time. I generally grab the you-pick-2 & rotate between the asiago steak & turkey avocado sandwiches with the French onion or broccoli cheddar soups. Everything is pretty good, nothing is great. I always come back.

I come here for Bible Study in the mornings and the folks that work here are always the most friendliest. It's genuine too! You don't get service like that often. Especially in a chain store!

I expect a certain level of service and speed when I visit a Panera. This service is not at that level. I placed my order over 30 minutes ago and still have yet to receive my food. Overheard another diner saying it took an hour for her to get her soup. A soup! These are pre-made soups, it's not that hard to put it in a bowl! Yes, this was at lunchtime, but they should be properly staffed in the kitchen if they are expecting a rush. When I arrived, there was no line for placing orders, however, there were at least 15 people waiting for their orders, including those who had placed "rapid pick-up" orders. Hope they plan on giving some sort of compensation for a way-below-average dining experience. Update: it's now been over 40 minutes. We are getting a refund. I am telling the few people who have walked in that it is taking forever for our food. Good luck, panera. Bottom line: DO NOT COME HERE DURING LUNCH!!!

Last week I walked up to the front counter with no other customer in line. I was waiting for one of the two employees to help me but they were busy doing prepwork. So I waited, but after one of them turned around and looked at me, and then went back to work on his prep work without even acknowledging me or saying a quick... "I will be right with you", I decided to go to chick-fil-a. Well this week I thought I would give them another try. The same thing happened again. I will not be back.

Extremely disappointing. My guest and I both had the French onion soup and half roasted chicken sandwich. Both were not what one expects from Panera Bread, luke warm soup the sandwich was made with no love what so ever. When one pays $36 for two soups and sandwich, you would expect perfection! I have found this to be typical when dining out in Charleston, even the go to chains are lack luster! Panera Bread need not be concerned about opening other locations in the area and concentrate on what they do right one store at a time!

I have been to several Panera locations throughout the country, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the service here in Charleston (in the mall). Upon arrival, The cashier who took our order was pleasant, informative, and sociable. As I have been sitting in the bright, clean dining room, the manager has been walking around once every ten minutes or so to check on the diners and to remove their dirty plates. The dining space is very pleasant with ample outlets, seating variety, and a lovely outdoor patio. The food was standard Panera fare, but because of the service, this has been one of my favorite Panera experiences.

Typical Panera Bread in terms of fare and quality of food, meaning quite good - 4 stars for food. I regularly visit this particular branch and only give it 2 stars because they are appallingly slow. Expect to wait 40 minutes for your food if they are busy, 20 minutes if they look empty.

We like Panera Bread because of the number of healthy and lower-calorie soups and salads this chain restaurant offers. We discovered this easy-to-reach location while traveling through Charleston. It is just a couple of minutes from I-77 and I-64 in the heart of downtown Charleston in the recently refurbished Charleston Town Center shopping mall. Parking was easy and cheap in the adjoining deck (50 cents for an hour on a Sunday). I had the new spinach salad and turkey chili - both prepared well and good additions to the menu.

Always step away from what is the usual experience of panera bread chain. The staff either rude, doesn't know what to do, or doesn't care about the customer. Since there are only two branches in this town, I hope they do something about it. If you are looking for good experience try to visit the other branch in south ridge.
