    I Iove everything about Berkeley Springs but mostly I love this place!! The location is amazing, the service impeccable and the extras like singing from Leslie and casual bar chit chat with Liz makes this place truly spectacular. I absolutely love farm to table places and the care the owners take to make sure their menu includes seasonal foods is amazing! So thank you! If you get a chance, sit at the bar and while waiting for your drink, ask for some of their "crack" it's a homemade chez mix that will leave your craving for more! They also support local artists and sundries which is always fun when restaurants bring in things to look at and purchase - things from books to candles to honey! Make sure you set aside enough time to take in the panoramic view for which it gets its namesake! Come for the view, stay for the service!

    A nice restaurant on Highway 9 West about 5 miles outside of Berkley Springs. Parking lot has nice view of the hills and Potomac River. Most of the food is locally sourced and the menu is small. I like this but was disappointed when there was no lamb that took out two menu items from an already small menu selection. There was complimentary bread and home made honey butter. I started with the belly pork lettuce wrap. The flavor were nice, the portion small for $9. The pork was not as crispy as I would have liked. My friend had a very nice refreshing cucumber soup. My main course was the Old Fashion pot roast which was very good. I had a portion of the roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes. The potatoes were more steamed than roasted, they should have been hotter and crispier. The flavor was nice. My friends trout, although recommended was not so good, and with a very small rice portion. For desert we had the peach cobbler; very nice with a good home made crust, served with ice cream. I had a local IPA beer that was excellent., my friend had the house wine that was ok and a small portion. She wanted to try a local wine but these were only served by the bottle and not by the glass. The service was prompt and cheerful. I would go to Panorama again and hope the portions would be a little more filling.

    We had an amazing dinner at Panorama. My cousins have a cabin in Berkley Springs and we celebrate both my Cousin and husbands birthday there. The view is amazing, who wouldn't want to view three states at the same time while eating an amazing meal? This is a very very special place and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience fresh food, great service, and a beautiful view.

    Great food ~ the drunken mushrooms were so good that I wanted to lick the plate ~ instead we ordered a second one! The view is spectacular and I highly recommend trying this gem if you are in the area.....

    A group of 7 girlfriends and I dined here for a Sunday brunch, as a beautiful way to end our girls' weekend getaway in Berkeley Springs. The drive up to this restaurant, on Hwy 9/Cacapon Rd., is quite scenic. You will be rewarded with tremendous views, especially on a clear day or at sunset! The parking situation is a little ominous, as you must cross the road to enter the restaurant from the lot, so just a heads-up that you might want to drop off Grandma and the babies at the front door before parking. We arrived spot-on at 11:00, opening time, for brunch. We were seated at a nice table smack in the middle of the restaurant - others' reviews mentioning "eclectic" or "country" ambiance are right-on. If you've spent the past 48 hours acclimating to the Berkeley Springs environs, this won't seem so odd, but if it's your first stop, you might do a double-take. Anyway, our server was good - friendly enough and got everyone's orders correct, which is a feat considering we have a gluten-free person and a nut-allergy person, plus a hot sauce demanding person (me; it was Tabasco, sigh). Don't come here expecting a grand selection of brunch items; you're limited to a few egg-based dishes - Benedicts, scrambles; a French toast dish, and a pancake dish. However, if you're feeling more peckish for lunch, they do have a two-page lunch menu spread, replete with salads, sandwiches, soups, and entrees. Plus, they do a great job of labeling lunch items as which are gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. I did enjoy the Bacon and Asparagus Benedict' those local and organic fresh eggs do make a difference, and the bacon was also local and fresh. Hollandaise (on the side) could have been more lemon-y, but it was passable. Other dining companions were happy with the French toast and the various egg dishes. Food, overall, is freshly-prepared, but does lack a certain flair or flavor profile; seems a little plain. Coffee was okay, and do note that you cannot get any adult beverages prior to 1:00 PM in West Virginia, so no mimosas or Bloodys here in the AM! Can't complain about prices on food in restaurants in WV; my bill for my Benedict and coffee was no more than $18! I've read in other reviews complaints about the restaurant getting quite hot; fortunately for us, we dined in the morning and in early June, so we were not victims to the sunset beat down of heat.

    I love this place. It's a great spot to grab lunch either before or after doing Paw Paw. Always consistently good, local sourced ingredients, and amazing service.

    We arrived after dark on a rainy night -- there goes the view. On a whim, my boyfriend and I asked to try the vegetable and rice soup -- it was incredible! Simple, but incredibly flavorful and delicious. The chef was heavy-handed on the salt, but that's how we like it. We also ordered the pot roast and the acorn squash. Both were good, but not incredible. You could definitely taste the fresh, local flavors, which is a plus. If we returned to Berkeley Springs, I could see us returning to PatP for drinks at sunset with soup and light bites.

    If you're looking for wonderful scenery while enjoying a delicious meal, then this is where it is at! The ambience is a little quirky, but it works for this place. We were seated in the "feather butt" section, which may not sound very appealing but we had prime time seats for a sunset that could have been amazing had it not been overcast. Make sure you make reservations as it does get busy on the weekends. We were impressed by the pitchers of beer that were $16.99! I mean, that's a good deal if you're gonna have beer with your meal. We elected for the proseco but were bummed by the fact they only had small, one-glass bottles. I ordered the super dry chicken breast stuffed with pesto, which came with a sizable portion of mashed potatoes and okay tasting asparagus. My husband got the lamb kabobs which were NOT an entree sized item. Expect three short skewers of lamb (think finger length) and a small side salad. We had room for dessert and I was more impressed with the brownie at the other table rather than the two we ordered (chocolate truffles and blueberry cobbler). For two meals, two desserts, and three drinks, our total came to $80 -- a steal! Our server was magnificent and overall we really enjoyed our time there even though we were not overly impressed by the food. Excellent quality food that lacked flavor (for our palate). Given that, we will be back at lunch sometime to give it another try.

    Went to Panorama at the peak on Saturday 4/11/15. Food was fresh and flavorful, however it was somewhat uninspired. Pan fried trout filet needed more creative accompaniment than rice and grilled carrots. Curried lentils were a little dry to our taste, but still good. For a restaurant that touts it's view, I would have expected the windows to have been cleaned this year. And if the cobwebs in the corner above the windows were left there to control the stinkbugs, they weren't working.

    First, the food was terrific. The atmosphere inside is, well, hard to place. You can tell they have put a lot of work into it, but there really isn't any kind of theme or motif, which is kind of endearing. Now, a tip. If you don't know the area - DON'T RELY ON GPS! We had two gps's and they both sent us to a few pretty "deliverance-ish" areas. Just call and ask, they are good.

    My wife, daughter and I had dinner here this past Saturday. The girls had crab cakes which they characterized as good but not spectacular. I had a flat iron steak that was so full of grizzle that there was some in EVERY bite. I gently provided feedback to the waitress about this which resulted in the owner coming back to let me know that they would take something off the bill for this. When I got the revised bill, they only knocked $3.00 off a $20.00 dollar steak. Because of that, I personally will never return but I would also not necessarily advise others not to try them out.

    Well... I am clearly going to be the black sheep of Yelp for this review, because I wasn't as impressed with Panorama at the Peak as everyone else. In all fairness, they close at 8:30pm and we arrived at 7:30pm... but I am under the impression that arriving an hour before closing still remains in the wheel-house of receiving pleasant customer service, if it was 8:20pm, I could understand a little attitude, but more about that later. The owner was the first to greet us and show us to our table. The view is stunning and I can understand why this is such a sought after dinner spot. She spoke with us a moment about the origin of the food and how the try to adhere to the farm to table lifestyle, which I highly respect. She asked us where we were from and told us she was originally from our neck of the woods. I probably could have stayed all night chatting with her. The décor in this place is confusing. There is just randomness everywhere. The red curtains on the windows are nice, but the red curtains covering the AC vents are randomly strung around the walls and basically do nothing but block the AC from hitting the diners. There is a high top table in the back of the dining room shadowed by two large wooden birds, and there are mirrors covering all other empty wall space. Also... what is probably the biggest complaint of the night, it is freaking HOT. It's summer. It's 98 degrees outside, we're on a mountain overlook with a blinding setting sun shining through the picture windows, but dripping sweat and having to fan yourself non stop just is not pleasant. It was miserable. Our server, who made in quite apparent she was annoyed she had to take another table, was flat and straight to the point. At first, it was almost awkward when she was around since she was so dry. She was never rude but there was not one pleasant moment with her. We each had a house made cocktail of Angry Orchard Cider (my favorite) and champagne. Quite refreshing! I ordered the cold blueberry soup, unique and pretty good. It was heavy on the cinnamon spice which I found odd in July, but none the less quite tasty! My friend got the brie bites which were greasy and light on the cheese, and another friend ordered the French onion soup. I'll give credit where credit is due; the French onion soup was probably the best I've ever tasted. As my main meal, I ordered the blueberry salad, and it was just that, lettuce, onion, blueberries, and vanilla bean vinaigrette. It was good, but I was shocked I actually paid $17.00 for it. I've had similar at Panera Bread. Nobody was overly satisfied with their dinner, the fried green tomato sandwich was heavily breaded and the chipotle cheeseburger was missing the chipotle mayo. There was no dessert offered, the server brought the check and that was our final clue that they wanted us out. One other thing that I found really strange... the two servers were obviously closing down the restaurant, dumping coffee, tea and such... but I am really really confused why the girl took a big container of ice, and dumped it in the men's bathroom. Not sure where it went, the sink or the toilet, but either way... do that stuff when your customers are not watching. I'll go back here, one more time. Maybe it was an off night? I'm sure all these reviews can't be wrong.

    I'm annoyed with myself for even writing a review for this place for some reason. But it's imperative for my fellow yelpers to know what I experienced AND I can't let my homegirl Jodi C. be the lone black sheep. She obviously gave a comprehensive review for our shared experience here, but I will give a few of my own quick points: -The owner greeted us as we walked in, was pleasant to talk to and seated us quickly. -Our "server" was obviously not happy to be "serving" us. There was not ONE pleasant or comfortable moment with her. I wish I could remember her name so that I could call her out. Lucky for her. -Decor of this place is just weird. Mirrors everywhere and drab. We discussed how this would be a great place to be featured on Restaurant: Impossible so that Chef Robert Irvine could rescue it from its hellacious garb. -The July heat was brutal and there was no relief inside this restaurant. Surely the AC was not working properly because we were literally sweating throughout the meal. Add that to the list of pleasantries of our experience here. -Kitchen workers were taking buckets of (ice, I hope/think) to the bathrooms near our table to dump out. I'm not sure WHY, but couldn't that wait until customers were gone? -BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! Food/Bevs: -Adult Beverage: Panorama Sunset Champagne Cocktail - a champagne drink with pressed apple cider and a bit of grenadine. Pretty refreshing. -Starter: French Onion Soup - Delicious! It tasted so good, I kept eating even though it was too hot and burning my mouth for the first 5 minutes. -Entree: Fried Green Tomato Sandwich - WAAAAAAAAY too heavily breaded. Could just barely taste the tomato, which was very disappointing. Carb sandwich that I didn't even finish. -Dessert - I DIDNT GET ANY! You know WHY? Cuz our "wonderful" server didn't even ASK if we wanted any! Nope, just handed us the check to get out. Thanks. Plain and simple: This place PAILS in comparison to Lot 12 Public House. My suggestion is for you to pay a few extra dollars and go there until Panorama at the Peak can get their act together.

    Debating between 3 and 4 stars. This isn't great food by any means, but it's very good food, and for the area it's in I'd say it's excellent. The onion soup is closer to the best I've had than most, but the bread used is heavily seasoned, which overpowered the tasted of the soup itself. The lamb meatballs were tasty, if a bit dry. My wife had the French dip sandwich. Again, this was better than average, and the dipping sauce didn't taste canned. If you're in the area, this may be the best food available. It's pretty pricey, though, and be prepared for a "relaxing" meal. The restaurant wasn't more than half full, and lunch, with desert, took every bit of two hours.

    It's the best food I have had in my life. Not exaggerating. I was prompted to write this because I was in a discussion on whether or not I could remember the best thing I have ever eaten. Didn't miss a step - here. It tastes fresh. I don't know how to describe it other than it seems like the chef grabbed ingredients straight from the garden/tree/bush, whatever, and immediately started cooking them. We had a group of four and went crazy and ordered a lot of different plates. Not one should have less than 5 stars. I live in DC and I have come back just for this place. Eat here. If it's anything less than perfect, feel free to spam me. Seriously. That good.

    Probably really more like 4.25 stars, if that were a thing. We had a tasty brunch here today. It's in a lovely little historic-looking building up the mountain from Berkeley Springs, and there are gorgeous views out the windows of the restaurant. We were starving when we arrived. We had been looking forward to trying the fried green tomato appetizer that we had spotted on the online version of their menu, but it wasn't on the print version in the restaurant. So we jumped straight to entrees-- one friend had the mushroom benedict, another the quiche, both of which came with home fries, and I had the zucchini cakes with sauteed squash and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious! My friend said her coffee was really good, also. We contemplated dessert for a while before deciding to get a slice of cheesecake to go for later-- it was also delicious. If I had had stomach space for it, I probably would have also tried the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Service was good-- nothing spectacular, but attentive and helpful. One thing I noticed was that the table arrangements were kind of... curious. They say on their website that they assign tables on a "first-reserved" basis, which made me think that there would be sort of, rows of tables near the windows, then another row farther away, etc. Our table was right by the window, but was placed on an angle so that two of the seats had their backs to the windows. what's the point of that? Overall everything was great. I knocked off a star for the print and online menus not matching, and because if you didn't get one of the good tables you wouldn't get the panorama view. Since they pride themselves on being a whole foods and "about 80%" local restaurant, it would be a nice touch if they had a list of where they source their ingredients--I've seen other restaurants do this on the back of the card they list specials on each day.

    Superb. - Romantic, rustic-cozy atmosphere in a historic building - Amazing mountain views - Delicious menu options with a focus on locally grown - Attentive, friendly staff - Try the white sangria - Bar area in front of the restaurant On the pricey side but well worth it. I tried the zucchini veggie dish and brownie/ice cream dessert. Both exceeded my expectations. The ice cream was from a local creamery and my entree tasted very fresh.

    Enjoyed out meal at Panorama .. but lets face it ... we all went there for the view, not the food. French Onion Soup was good, and the burger was tasty (Half Priced Burger's on Thursdays!) .. but it sadly wasn't anything special. I did like the cozy atmosphere when you walked in. Take a minute to write a little of how you ended up there in the little book at the entrance! Definitely be there for sunset at least once... even if you dont go in the restaurant - the view at sunset is terrific!

    I wanted to like this place ... I really did! After a lovely day of spa pampering I was relaxed, feeling generous and full of love. But the first thing I noticed when we walked in the door was the restaurant had a very foul smell. I couldn't identify it -- plumbing problems? dead animal in the kitchen? I tried not to think about it. We didn't say anything, and I was pleased that they sat us in a far corner, hopefully away from the source of the smell, but I kept getting whiffs of it throughout the dinner. Our server was warm and knowledgeable, but (and here again, I hate to sound so bitchy) she had bad skin, and looked very greasy -- like she had oil smeared all over her face. My friend wondered aloud if maybe it was really hot in the kitchen. Our server also forgot to bring the butter we requested for our bread. But as I said, we were in happy forgiving moods, so we tried to overlook all of this. The food was good quality, well-prepared, and probably a lot of people would have loved it, but I found everything to be too rich, too sweet and too creamy. Just about every dish had some kind of fruit, honey, maple syrup or something like that in it. I prefer savory and spicy food. I also would have appreciated some lighter and crunchier vegetables. My lamb shank entree came with a choice of a vegetable and a potato. They had three different potato options plus rice for those who don't like potatoes. There was only one vegetable "choice" -- rather dull overccoked / overmarinated green beans, with some kind of corn mash on the side. It was okay, but I kinda expected more from a place that specializes in fresh, local, seasonal, organic, etc. Maybe we caught them on an off night. And as I said, everyone was friendly and I really wanted to like the place. But I doubt I'll ever go back. And I would hesitate to recommend this place after our experience.

    We have a weekend home in the area and tend to come to this restaurant to support the local economy. This restaurant looks pretty awful from outside....old a ratty but in reality the food inside is pretty darn good. All the ingredients are organic which in my book is a plus. Their menu is again not what the building looks like....no chicken fried steak here....but rather Fall Harvest Raviolis, flatiron steak, lamb meatballs, and yummy bread pudding. Friday nights is Tapas night. Not Spanish tapas per se but small plates tapas. We enjoyed the sautéed spinach with golden raisins and blue cheese crumbles, spicy sweet potato fries and it was all very good. We did have the flatiron steak tapas but thought it was a bit overpriced for the portion given. I mean $12 for about 2 ounces of steak? A bit much for even this DC resident. Anyway, if you are in the area, I highly recommend you stop in and enjoy the food. Get passed the decor.

    The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant is charming, not to mention the location has the gorgeous view across the street of the valley and mountains. Berkeley Springs is not too far from Winchester and I highly recommend visiting the area. The food here is high quality and the service is good.

    I've eaten at this restaurant three or four times since we moved to West Virginia six years ago, but never wrote up those earlier trips since they were pre-Yelp for me. Four of us had dinner there Sunday, and the food was amazing as always, not what I'd ever have expected to find in Berkeley Springs. But first a word about the restaurant itself. One reason for visiting is the magnificent view -- it truly is on a peak. We hoped for a beautiful sunset Sunday, but it was overcast, so we didn't get one. But the view was still amazing anyway. As for the food, we started by sharing lamb meatballs, which had a feta dill dipping sauce on the side, a nice contrast of hot and cold. I had the braised lamb shank served with onions, mushrooms, and ginger carrots, while the others had West Virginia pan-fried trout and North Carolina lump meat crab cakes. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, and the sauce was not overpowering. The desserts ordered by the group were the peach and pecan bread pudding and the wild berry pie with lemon crust, all excellent. Definitely worth a visit when in the area. The place wasn't packed this visit as it was out of season, but if you're going in season, I'd recommend reservations, as I've seen people turned away.

    great view, however the food was mediocre. I being a vegetarian got a fried green sandwich and in all honesty I think there was too much breading on the green tomatos. The taste was hidden completely. My family got meat entrees to which they liked, so possibly just one advice would be to give more of the green tomato taste instead of frying it up into breadcrumb central

    We were there for a special event - they opened the restaurant just for us - so I can't speak about a typical evening there, but I was extremely impressed. The butternut squash soup appetizer could have been a meal on its own - very rich and creamy. I had the pot roast which just fell apart as I put my fork in it. And the fact that they use local and organic food makes it even better.

    Three of us were in Berkeley Springs for some R&R at the Spa and had dinner at the Peak. This was a real treat for us to have the view and the ambiance that this restaurant offers. The food was excellent (even the beet appetizer which was a one of a kind dish in my experience and the vegetarian dinner that my friend had). For mushroom fans, the drunken mushroom appetizer was incredible. The service was warm and friendly, the food fresh and deliciously prepared and the view was awesome. We will make it a point to return whenever we are in the area and strongly recommend Panorama at the Peak to anyone and everyone -- you will not be disappointed!!!

    Absolute perfection! We've been coming here for a little over 4 years and the food and service just gets better and better. It's more expensive than most local places, but you get what you pay for, right? The owners are lovely and you can tell take great care and pride in their restaurant. It's not much to look at from the outside, but they couldn't compete with the view anyway! It's spectacular and you can see 4 states from this unique vanatage point. Inside, they have a wall of mirrors strategically placed to maximize the view. But from the outside, it looks like a dive. The hubby's father couldn't believe how much nicer it was inside - he kept saying he thought it was a "hamburger joint" when we pulled up! If you listen to nothing else I say, GET THE DRUNKEN MUSHROOMS!!! We literally dream about them. And have no shame about licking the bowl clean when we order them. We usually go for the NY strip steak, which is heavenly. A superior cut and expertly cooked. Other favorites are the turkey croquettes and shepherd's pie. Their sides and desserts and other appetizers are delicious as well. Oh, and who can forget their warm bread with special flavored butter? And they make one hell of a spicy bloody mary! If you join their frequent visitor club you earn points quickly, which amount to coupons. You also get coupons on your birthday. My only complaint is that the coupons expire pretty quickly so we sometimes don't get to use them in time. They used to do an all you can eat brunch on Sundays which was to die for. We wish they still did that. Now everything is a la carte (but still amazing)! Be sure to go near sunset and reserve a table at the window in advance! They book up pretty quickly, especially for holidays and busy seasons. One of our favorite restaurants in the world.

    4.5 if I could. Beautiful location toward the top of the mountain. Not too much curb appeal, sort of a rustic stone look. Inside looks like an old supper club, perhaps. Doesn't matter - the food is locally sourced, delicious, and pretty reasonably priced for the quality. Highly recommended in the Berkeley Springs area.

    My wife and I tried to visit this restaurant last Sunday night.We are from New Jersey and didnt know thier strict rule about reservations which they keep to so much that they chase away prospective customers. We arrived at 645 on a rainy Sunday night.The restaurant was only about 40% full. The hostess was rude and nasty to us and refused to seat us beacuse we didnt have a reservation. Today I called and spoke to the owner and she was even ruder.She said"if you are going to travel all the way from NJ you should at least make a reservation.last year were in Berkeley Springs the same weekend with nicer weather.We got seated at another restaurant and we were the only people in the whole restaurant. The owner did nothing to even care about my complaint.Its not a chain and they can do anything they want.I guess they dont want out of town guests.Im very disppointed in this restaurant and the way we were treated Also the owner said we came in 15 minutes before closing.The restaurant closes at 7pm we were there at 645pm Larry

    Panorama at the Peak was in a place that I truly did not expect to find such a scrumptious meal. The discovery of this restaurant came via the horse stables as the Cacapon State Park. We had stopped there after a day of swimming in the park's swimming hole, with still wet bathing suits and found the brochure for the Panorama at the Peak restaurant in the stables. We thought we might someday go there to eat and started driving home. As we read the brochure though, our tummies started rumbling and mouths start watering and decided to turn around and head to Berkeley Springs for dinner. As you wind your way up the mountain on Route 9 West you'll pass a castle (who knew?!?) and then the more standard WV housing on the sides of the road. Honestly I was worried on the trip up and even while parking in front of the restaurant, it really doesn't look like much on the outside; but the overlook where you park (you probably want to back into your space) does have an incredible view. When we walked in the transformation was instant. A very lovely little restaurant with some of the best views through picture windows ever. The views were grand, and the food was even better. The brochure convinced us to come with its descriptions of the fresh from the chef's garden vegetables and the choice cuts of protein. The brochure did not lie and did no justice to the ability of the chef. If you ever happen to be in Berkeley Springs, take the time to head to the vista, you won't regret it!

    I came here recently for a celebration with a large group. The restaurant was extremely accommodating. We made a reservation a few days in advance. Our table was ready when we arrived. The owner and staff were very friendly. Our server answered all of our questions about the menu and gave several recommendations. I had the Hunters Chicken and the majority of folks in my party ordered the same thing. We were all impressed. The sauce on the chicken and polenta were both delicious. I also tried the cold trail ale, which is locally brewed in WV. One person ordered the lamb shank and it was literally falling off the bone. It looked amazing. We also got a plate of 3 truffles which we cut into pieces so everyone could try a bite. They were rich and chocolaty and covered in cocoa nibs. They have a menu that rotates based on what can be purchased locally so these exact items may not be available again but i'd be confident ordering anything they have to offer. We were there right around sunset and the scenery outside was amazing. Overall, it was a great night!

    A very good, very eclectic restaurant. Even under overcast skies, the view was lovely. The menu is organic, and about 80% local, with a good selection of vegetarian and seafood options if that's a concern for you. My wife had a variant of their shepard's pie, made with portobello mushrooms instead of lamb. The soup of the day was roasted red pepper, and both it and the French Onion soup were terrific. The cornmeal crusted pan-fried trout was very good, as were the ginger carrots. The roasted potatoes were great, with crisp skins, and lots of rosemary. The fruit pie with a lemon crust had a lovely, bright citrus flavor. They do have an extensive wine and cocktail menu, although we didn't try any of their drinks. All around, just a terrific meal. Expensive, but well worth it.
