How can you not rate this place high? This is one of the best casual, sit-down, cheaper, chain restaurants ever. They have such delicious Italian food. There's usually a warm atmosphere and good service. ...and their salad is addicting.

Tried this Olive Garden and I have to say that its not bad. We were seated right away which was a plus. The staff was friendly. Food came out pretty quick except for one dish. We had multiple waiters/waitresses so in between the 3 of them they forgot one of our dishes which we had to ask about and when we did one of the waitress was like "Oh! You didn't get yours? Hrm... lemme go see where it is.." To me, the response should've been... "I'm sorry, let me go check on that for you." Don't make it seem like you have no clue where the food is, it's your job to know. Otherwise the food was good. Salad was refreshing and breadsticks were good. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo dish and it was good but heavy. Would I go again? Yes Pricey? Yes

If I could give this place a negative...I would. By far the WORST restaurant experience in my life. Our waitress was horrid. She was rude off the get go, and when she finally brought our salad plates, I noticed a gross spot on mine and told her, to which she replied "it's just the paint on the plate." I'm sorry, but paint doesn't move. As if that's not bad enough...she then gave the poor guy behind me the salad plate with the gunk on it! The food was average at best. I'm typically an excellent tipper, but let's just say this girl got more than she deserved with my $1.00 or so tip---not kidding!

great lunch specials. My only bad is that the table seating is a bit "cozy" between others

Okay so I just tried Olive Garden for the first time tonight. I honestly can't say enough good about this place! Our server Luke was amazing! He was fun and very outgoing and bubbly. I felt like he went out of his way for us and even my son who is ten months old. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the citrus chicken and it was done perfectly! I ordered the cheese ravioli for my son and he thought it was good ha. My brother ordered Cavatopi with Asiago Garlic Alfredo sauce and brazed beef and he thought it was great. None of us could eat it all it was just a wonderful experience. And they sent enough to feed a small army home with us, salad, bread sticks, two extra entrees, and left overs too!

Wait staff was excellent - great teamwork that focuses on the customer... where one waitress got overwhelmed, her demeanor didn't show it and a fellow waiter jumped in gratefully to help out. I would have never known one waitress was overwhelmed if it weren't for the fact that we were apologized to for any delays... and really, there was none! I love being in a business where you can tell morale is high and teamwork a priority... makes me feel like family with that type of atmosphere. As far as food.... got the spicey calamari - loved it! Maybe not ideal for an 85 year old with acid reflex.... but I like spicey and this was just right. Then I did the Southern (Spicey) Tour of Italy trial.... and OH MY GAWD - to die for. The presentation was very nice... but the true test was the taste.... amazing. And definately not too spicey. My 11 year old tried a little of each item... and liked it all and described it as "having a little kick, but not bad!". We'll return time and time again! ;-)

Today we stopped in to a very busy lunch service. We had a fifteen minute wait and were then promptly seated. Our waitress was very efficient and friendly. We began our meal with breadsticks that were so salty you could hardly eat them. In fact they left an unpleasant metallic finish in your mouth. Next we decided to have crispy breaded artichokes. Nice and crispy and hot. My two grandsons shared a pizza and grapes. My daughter got minestrone soup and salad. Her soup was too salty to eat. Salad was huge. I got two small plates. The Polenta, capers and olives dish was extremely heavy on the salt with barely any polenta under an excess of olives. Being that polenta is cheap one wood think you would get a nice helping of that and just a few olives and capers making a more balanced and less salt driven dish. My crispy asparagus were delicious. If our meal was less heavy on salt , my review would have been much higher. My advice to the kitchen is taste your food. I am dying of thirst since lunch. This was not a healthy amount of salt for anyone to consume.

I don't like much at Olive Garden, but I do love the salad and breadsticks - I find most of their pasta, etc. to be way too heavy and such, really just not my cup of tea as far as Italian food goes. My husband and I went with the unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks for lunch yesterday. The salad was as good as anywhere else but, we weren't impressed with the chicken and gnocchi soup. The chicken has a very strange texture and it's just overall lacking in flavor. Service was quite friendly but a bit slow. We waited quite some time for our soup and our salad bowl sat empty longer than it should have. Overall, a fine experience and we'll go back when craving salad and breadsticks.

Service is definitely up at the Wausau / Rib Mt. Olive Garden! Thank you for a great experience

Since Olive Garden opened in Wausau (actually Rib Mountain for you geographers) my wife and I have been there 4-5 times. It's a very relaxing place. Usually it has been quiet there. We usually go there later in the evening when it is not crowded. It's open later than most of the nicer restaurants in the area. I liked one review that said consistent, consistent, consistent. That's very true. They are even consistent in offering "new" dishes that are little twists on their particular interpretation of Italian cuisine. I think that there calamari is excellent but tonight I wanted more than the appetizer or a sampler. I tried the Shrimp Primavera ($14.95). It was excellent: good, flavorful mix of ingredients. The sauce was a bit spicy as promised; it was excellent. One review indicated that their portions have decreased of late. That is not my impression. Our server, Caitlin, was excellent. When I eat here I wish that Mino's was still open. Bummer.

Food was Excellent, but portions are getting smaller and smaller. I don't think I will go back because of the size of the meals.

It's an Olive Garden. And that means mediocre food and overly cheerful service.

It's fantastic! Could eat their salad everyday! Food is always great and so is the service. Not big on chain places, but the OG is fantastic. No better Italian around!

This restaurant has some issues. They have only been open about a month, and they are very busy all the time. When we went we waited about an hour for a table, which was fine. Then when we sat down we noticed the large amount of empty tables. The lobby and bar were packed with people waiting for tables and there were a bunch of empty ones. I don't know what the problem was, they definitely had enough servers working, there were servers everywhere. Our server greeted our table very quickly and got us our drinks. We ordered an appetizer, We decided to get the stuffed mushrooms, our server told us that they would take a while but they could bring out the salad and breadsticks right away if we wanted. Which we did. However, we didn't realize a while was going to be 45 minutes. We waited almost exactly 45 minutes for the stuffed mushrooms. Then we waited about another 20 minutes for our food. Which when we got it looked like some of it had been sitting under heat lamps for a while. The pasta was dried out and the cheese on top of the cheese ravioli borderline burned. All said and done we were at the table for almost 2 hours, not because we sat there but because everything took a long time. I understand they just open and they were busy, but 45 minutes for an appetizer??? come on! The food was definitely not worth the wait or the price. It seems all they are interested in is serving as many people as possible, and taking in as much money as they can... Maybe they should worry a little more about the quality. I would much rather go to one of the local italian places and get much better food for the same price. Not to mention faster.

Consistent consistent consistent. Olive Garden is one of the most consistent places I have eaten at yet.' Their service is unmeasurable. Unlimited soup. For $4.95 how can you beat that.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
