Friday Night Fish Fry on Opening weekend of Deer Hunting. Wow was this placing jumping! found a place at the bar for our group of 8, had a couple of drinks, and then sat down. I expected a longer wait, but the service at the bar was good and personable and the people watching was pretty entertaining. We had the family style fish fry and everything was hot and fast. Al you can eat fish and chicken and the typical sides. Great place, I highly recommend.

Me and the girlfriend love trying new places and we're pleasantly surprised to find this little gem located within 5 miles of us. We would've never came across this place had it bit been for Yelp. The food was very good, I had the prime rib and the SO had the sirloin, both were very tasty and cooked exactly how we asked. The French onion soup was just Ok, but with the main course being so good and the great service we would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Just finished a great dinner at Donny's girl in Watertown. A short drive from oconomowoc, Donny's is an old school supper club with a great atmosphere. We had the specials for dinner, ham hock and sauerkraut for me and lamb shank for my pops. My mom got the chicken. The owner/ hostess Jackie was a sweetheart, as was our waitress Betty. Oh ya, best part, 6 drinks 3 large meals for 66 bucks, what a deal! We will be back!

Do not go for brunch ever. It was extremely over priced and there was no breakfast items at all. Maybe call it a dinner buffet. But in no way is this brunch. Oh and at 22.00 dollars if you would like dessert that is an additional charge. The food was boring, some tepid roast beef, bland turkey , some of the worst stuffing I have ever had and the ribs just plain disgusting. The mashed potatoes were good but nothing special. I was completely disappointed and unhappy when I left. I don't think you could pay me to return.

Really enjoy the family friendly traditional supper club feel Donnys Girl has to offer. From the memoriabia of the restaurants history the adorns the walls to location in the bygone town of Pipersville. They offer specials on varying nights of items most places no longer serve such as liver and onions and corned beef and cabbage. I've been going here for years and always enjoy the chance to go again for a fish fry, steak or something new. Minus Fridays they offer a salad bar that has a nice assortment. The other night I tried the corned beef and cabbage and really enjoyed it.

Extremely disappointed. My father-in-law ordered the $20 NY Strip well done, they brought it out medium, he asked them to cook it longer and when it came back out the outside was burnt and the inside was medium-well, he was only able to choke down about a 1/3 of it. My husband also ordered the NY Strip which was fatty and had no flavor. My prime rib was good and my mother-in-law thought her ribs were decent but lacking in sauce. Their soda is fountain soda was apparently served per glass which is not apparent when ordering so we spent $12 on 6 glasses of soda (for 3 people) and the glasses were half full of ice. There are much better ways to spend $100+ on dinner for 4.

Here's the Donny's Girl Supper Club we know and patronize often: Friendly, good service, great food and THE place to go. Drive by any Friday night and you'll see the parking lot filled with cars and standing-room-only in the bar. Their Friday fish is Wisconsin's best. Their Old Fashioneds are homemade and can't be beat. Donny's Girl is what Wisconsin supper clubs are all about. Family, friends, laughter, time together, a welcoming smile and loads of good food.

The prices are great! My parents had the prime rib, which they loved. I had a filet and I found it a bit plain tasting. The best part of having a restaurant steak is it tastes different from home. This filet was very plain like it was just cooked and no seasoning added. I was thoroughly impressed by the salad bar. I loved the old school supper club vibe. The service was great. I'll go back again and try something else because the price was right and the prime rib was great.

No free refills on soda? This is one of the few places I've been that makes you pay for a refill. The coleslaw amd potato salad they serve as sides with the fish fry are both excellent. Sub par service

Good, American home cooking? Check. Typical salad bar that you'd find in any supper club? Check. Scuffed carpet and beer-bellied men sitting at the bar? Check. Bad music? Check. Though I've only eaten here once, I've been interested in this place for awhile. We took my grandpa out and of course they gave us more food than we can handle. There aren't many vegetarian options, but you can get the salad bar for dinner and create you own delicious meal (the salad bar's great). They have a very good selection otherwise. The staff was friendly. And the bad hair metal and 80's music (Boston, anyone?) couldn't be beat. If you're ever in this neck of the Wisconsin "back woods", stop in at Donny's Girl.

I have been coming here for fish fries since I was born. I still remember sitting at a smoky bar with my family waiting for a table while the juke-box played Oldies (this was in the '80s) The servers and waitresses (not sure if Ruth-Anne is still there) were always very friendly and the food is great, too. Sue is one of the few bartenders who knows how to make a Brandy Old Fashioned. Donny's is probably not the perfect place to take a fancy date, but it's a great place to go with your family and friends.

Wow. It seems to be the common phrase among Yelpers : "If I could give this place zero stars, I would." Yeah, I would concur that exact phrase for Donny's Girl Supper Club. Something seems to have changed in the time between the other reviews and our experience. I have read that it was sold off and service has gone downhill. I can't stress enough how SHITTY our experience was here. First of all, we had a party of 8. My family went out after a recent outing and wanted to have a nice dinner, some place we would all be able to eat together. Donny's was the place we all agreed on. We made reservations, arrived on time, and were seated promptly. That's about all that went correctly with this outing. We told them on the phone when we made our reservations we would have multiple checks. They gave an obviously NEW waitress our group to wait on. Normally, if the waitress is new, you don't give her a big group with several checks split up. (believe me, I know from experience). From the get go, we knew something was up when she didn't know the beers on tap or the liquor available. We wound up waiting 1/2 an hour to get our drinks... and then the ordering debacle began. In the meantime, we overheard our waitress asking one of the more experienced veteran waitresses for help. The vet basically told our waitress she'd better check with the bartender on which scotches and beers were available, as that wasn't her job. "I don't know. You'll have to ask the bartender." She basically was refusing to help her out. Classy. So... upon ordering... do we get the salad bar with our meal? Or no....? That wasn't told to us or relayed. What exactly do we get as a side? No idea. She didn't know. I will put this on the new girl's training. It seemed very apparent to all of us they were trying to get her to screw up and refusing to help this girl out. When we got our meals (an hour later) they were cold, missing items, or wrong all together. I got a dried out chicken breast with a piece of canned beet on the side. Totally unappetizing and not really what I had been expecting. My dad kept asking for salsa that was supposed to come with his taco salad, and they kept telling him they would be right there with it. By the time he had it brought to him (he had to ask someone else to help get it, as he was getting very hungry) we had almost all finished our meals. Absolutely unacceptable. My husband got the pork chop. When I looked at his plate, I asked him if he got two. Nope, the other half was fat and gristle he had to cut away from his pork chop. Upon further inspection, his pork chop was basically a low quality (even Roundy's could provide better) pork chop, seasoned with .....seasoning salt. They were cold in the middle. It was pointless to call it out to anyone, as by the time all was said and done, we were at this awful place TWO WHOLE HOURS. Then came time to figure out the bill. Oh boy. We were told by the veteran waitress that our waitress was 'Working on our bill, and it wasn't going very well.' I almost got up and walked out after that. This place is inexcusable. I realize all places have off nights - but if you were to ask any of the other groups there that night that had poor service, I would be they would all agree. Whomever is running this establishment is running it into the ground. Based on the other experiences posted her, I feel gypped. I won't be going back - ever. If anything positive came out of this experience, it was that we were all able to spend family time together. One other tip - if you use the ladies' room, be prepared to catch a whiff of pot smoke, as that was another highlight of my evening.

We needed a place to meet family half-way and this seemed as good as any. I was a little hesitant because it doesn't look like much, but the inside was clean and homey. If you can get past the plastic tablecloths, the food is really good. The salad bar is ample with lots of choices; the soup choice came in choosing a soup, not whether you wanted one or not. I had the baked French Onion - to die for! For my main course, I had the tenderloin au jus and Irish brown potatoes. The plate came with a beet, and while the tenderloin was on the small side, it was also very melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Another in my family had the Prime Rib which would have been better had he ordered it medium or rare, but it was large and tasty. The meals were ample, the service was wonderful with friendly waitstaff. We topped off the meal with their birthday surprise cupcake. It came with 4 spoons, 2 scoops of ice cream, real whipped cream and a chocolate cupcake with scrumptious frosting. For the four of us, the price was very reasonable at less than $75 with tip. This place is out of the way, but well worth the travel.
