Visiting family in Sheboygan this last weekend put me on the path for finding some comfort food in the city that is known for brats, cheese, and beer. My father recommended Anglers Ave to me because of the good food, reasonable prices, and the atmosphere. If you're new to Sheboygan brats there are just three things you need to know: 1) brats can be served as either a single or double, but all brats MUST be served on a "Sheboygan Hard Roll". There is no bread substitute for eating a brat. 2) brats MUST be made by either Johnsonville or Miesfeldt's Meat Co. 3) pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard (optional) finish garnishing the brat. No relish, no peppers, no lettuce, no tomatoes. Anglers Ave served up a great meal. Enjoy with a beer from the local 3 Sheeps brewery. Figure a meal will run around $15/pp.

Staff was very nice, but I can't say much for the food. I had a 1/3 burger with fries. The fries were good, as pretty much all fries are. The burger was disgusting though. They must use 70% lean beef or something in that range, because my burger was so greasy that half the bun was soggy all the way through. No way this was 80%, which is the gold standard for burgers. As a result, the burger had no texture at all, all I tasted was mush and grease. How do you mess up a burger? Also, maybe don't bring food out of the "bait & tackle" side! This place has a pub & grill, which is right beside a bait & tackle shop. I get it, the cooking area probably is in the middle, but psychologically I don't like seeing my food come out of a bait & tackle shop...

Super cute little place right off the lake! My boyfriend and I sat outside and watched the Dragon boat races and enjoyed a great lunch! I got the seafood wrap with pineapple-cranberry coslaw and he got a burger, both were awesome!

Angler's Avenue tchotchke game is on fleek. Cod sandwich was tasty, and average sized. The crispy chicken wrap was enjoyable. No beer list available but the waitress could rattle off the list. 3 sheeps beers were excellent. Place is loaded with regulars who know each other.

I'm only giving this place 1 star because I have to. The manager / owner is one of the rudest people I've ever met and the food is sub par. I was served undercooked salmon and sent it back to get recoooked. After about 20 min wait they brought it back and it was still not done. The manager told the waitress he'd give me 50% off my meal and a free drink to which I said was unacceptable. So he came out to talk to me which is where things went from bad to worse. He claimed that people RAVE about their salmon and he's never had an issue before and he talked to his cooks and they said it's done correctly. I bluntly commented that it seemed as though he's blaming me for the problem rather than maybe a poor piece of fish or incorrect cooking. Which he reiterated that he's never had the problem before..... Insinuating it was me and my problem not his. After further argument and strong pushback from myself and our group he said he would take the salmon off our bill but still charged me for the side salad (an extra charge on our bill as the salad actually came with the meal). If HE had made an effort to rectify the situation it could've been much better, but he is by far the rudest person and should NOT be owning or running the place. Guess we should've taken the reviews seriously and avoided this place. Seems like he's been an issue before along with gross food.

We were wandering around the local area looking for a place to have dinner. We walked by the Anglers AVE. Pub and Grill and decided to give it a try. When we first walked in a bearded man made a comment about my co-workers t-shirt. We just all assumed that he was just a patron. We sat ourselves and waited for our waitress. The man came back out of the managers office made another comment that we didn't quite catch and kept walking. I guess he was the owner/manager? If he was he really didn't make us feel welcomed. Our waitress was nice and very friendly. I had an ice tea that didn't taste all the fresh (D/D). I was not throughly hungry so I ordered the nachos. They tasted like taco bell, greasy meat, canned cheese sauce, some pre-shredded veggies and bagged chips. The other people in my party ordered the following: Fish Sandwich - Tasted like van de kamps on a bun, no flavor. Pulled Pork Sandwich - Straight from a frozen bag pulled pork on a bun, no flavor. Chicken Strips - Straight out of a bag and drowned in a not very hot or tasty sauce. We concluded that everything here was straight from a grocery store and you could make at home for cheap. Our friendly waitress was is this places only saving grace.

Check out Anglers Avenue the next time you are near Sheboygan. Scenic location on South Pier, this place is the locals' secret place to eat and drink. Jane from Relish recommended that we stop by and try it for lunch - what a wonderful recommendation it is! Rhonda was our server, she was pleasantly friendly and attentive, sharing a comfortable hospitality. I had a famous Bloody Mary and she had a Guinness - the Bloody was decorated with an olive, pickled brussel sprout, and a smoked sausage - it was excellent. She had the fish sandwich with the homemade cranberry cole slaw - spectacular - she loved the Sheboygan hard roll so much, that we went to the Westside bakery right after lunch and bought a bunch of their bread. I had the BBQ Salmon wrap - an eclectic mixture of flavors that was surprisingly delicious - served with perfect fries. We really enjoyed our lunch and visit to Anglers Avenue - stop by, I am confident that you'll enjoy your visit too.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. I went to Anglers Ave. a couple weeks ago with friends and had terrible service and food. Our waitress Shannon couldn't even take a drink order. We had ordered water with lemon and was brought Iced tea? Then she proceeded to get a different waitress to bring us our drinks and she got it wrong as well! How hard is it to bring out water with lemon?! After having to send drinks back twice she also took 20min to come back and take our order. At this point we were completely irritated, so we decided to order some quick appetizers because we were starving, then just leave. We had ordered a small pizza and nachos. After waiting what seemed like forever for our food, our waitress finally came out with the pizza but no nachos! She then tells us that they were out of chips! That would have been nice to know as we ordered or right after! We would have just ordered nothing and gone to a different restaurant. The pizza tasted just like a frozen pizza from the grocery store. We ate the pizza and payed our bill. My fiancé was the one who paid the bill and after he paid I realized that they over charged us! She had charged us for the large but we ordered and received the small! I went up to the bar to have this handled by someone hopefully with a little more intelligence, but when I showed the woman owner she was very rude. She had asked me to wait and she would go and talk to the waitress. Not only did she never come back she also was looking at me from outside! I could see her talking about me! I work at Blue Harbor Resort and whenever guests ask about the restaurant I tell them the service is terrible and the food is average. Easy to say I will never be going there again!

We went to Anglers Pub on Monday for lunch and as we were talking to our waitress and told her we were Charter fishing the next day. She told us to bring our catches and they would gladly prepare them for us for a fee ( this option is also listed on the menu as item). Tuesday, we followed her advice and did just that. From the moment we stepped back in the restaurant, we were treated very rudely by the female owner or manger (not sure what she does). We were told it was too much work and was made to wait for seating even though there many available both inside and outside. We had to create our own seating, wait a very long time for service and had to find our own menus. The owner/manager (again not sure of her role) approached us again to tell how much work she would have to so to prepare our filet for one person. We stated that we would gladly wait and order more drinks...as the fish was caught by one of the children in the group and it was supposed be a special treat for her. It then starting raining very hard and she made sure everyone found seating inside but ignored us---a group of 9 with 3 children. We sat in the the pouring rain, under umbrellas for several minutes before she once again came to tell us how much work she was doing to prepare the one fish, when we finally asked for our bill and fish back due to her rudeness. She returned with a ziplock bag of fish telling us that the fish won't travel well...no apology, no explanation, nothing...just walked away while we waited in the doorway for our billThey never did prepare my granddaughter's catch as at the point we had gotten it she had just placed it in the cold water and cut it up. This fish was also not very large, maybe two pounds. I will never enter this place again.
