We had a wonderful stay at The Fringe during the PGA Championship. Ruth and Carl are very gracious and accommodating hosts. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We had a few EARLY morning, speedy breakfasts but the regular breakfasts served were creative and delicious. We have already put our reservations in for our next stay.

The Bull golf course

1 Long Dr
Sheboygan Falls, 53085
Reviews:
This course was incredible. Very well maintained, very challenging, and very beautiful. That pretty much covers golf, right? Incredible scenery, well-kept greens and fairways, and challenging enough to be fun but not impossibly hard. There are lots of tree-lined greens, water, and ravines. The carts have built-in gps units that work fairly well. They were not the most user-friendly, but it was most likely user error. I haven't played Whistling Straits and some of the other elite courses in Wisconsin, but this is right up there with Wild Rock as my favorite Wisconsin course. Bring lots of balls, I know I went through a good number of them!
This is one of the best courses in Wisconsin yet gets overshadowed by it's Kohler neighbors. The course is extremely difficult with 4 different sets of tees to choose from you can go from over 7100 to around 6100 yards. The first few holes are just a warm up for what you will be store starting hole #5. The course is always in pristine shape too. The staff in the pro shop and restaurant are always friendly, nice, and helpful. If you have the chance to go the Milwaukee Golf Show they handle out 2 for 1 passes all weekend long so I've used several of these - they work on all days but Saturday. I've played this course around 18 times over the last 4 years and have never paid full price with all of the deals they do and part of the 50/50 club. Bring extra balls since you will go through them quickly. They have GPS in the carts since several of the holes are more course management than brute force. It gets 4 stars since it is really out of the way for anyone living in the Milwaukee area or even north of the course. There are giant power lines that run through the course that are a bit of an eye sore and you can hear the cracking of electricity on calm days.
Holy impressive, The Bull. This golf course is beautiful, well upkept and all of the employees are super friendly and attentive (unlike Fire Ridge and The Bog). We had a free round coupon with a purchase of a cart, and typically when you have one of these it is of my experience that you get an attitude about it. Well, not here, and it was welcomed. The next time I am going to spend some money (100$) on a round of golf, it will be The Bull that wins my business because of their friendliness.

The quality of the toppings is what sets Firehouse pizza apart. Their crust might take some getting used to if you don't like it crispy, but the cheese and toppings are so great, you won't care.
I have no idea why this place was so dead on a Saturday night. The food was awesome; pizza delish and our server, a young lady, was phenomenal, attentive and friendly. I am new to Sheboygan Falls and am from NYC; so I am always up for good pizza. It's not NYC style pizza but it is still good thin crust and was awesome in my opinion. The decor is very cool and it looks like they put a lot of attention to the styling and ambience (it is a former firehouse!). I'd say this place is a tightly held secret in Sheboygan Falls. Maybe the Sheboyganites and Kohlerites will discover this place soon and it will not be so secret anymore. ;) Support local businesses and try this local gem!!
Ordered delivery from here while staying at the Inn at Woodlake. We got two ten inch pizzas, one appetite extinguisher (sausage, pepperoni, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, olives) and one bacon cheeseburger. It just was not good. Everything seemed fresh and they weren't greasy, but they just really weren't that flavorful or anything to write home about. I've had better frozen pizza. I hate to ding a local business, but it just wasn't to our liking.

Well, for starters their food doesn't have mold on it, which places it miles ahead of its nearest competitor (No need to name names, but let's just say the perpetrator has a view of the park). However, simply comparing this restaurant against a feeding trough would be an injustice to the class, professionalism, deliciousness, and genuine care that is The Point. As the restaurant was closing, they not only stayed open for my girlfriend and I, but carried a table into the parking lot to fulfill our desire to dine outside. Every interaction was positive, every request was met with a smile, and every dish was free of mold.
The Point has been in business 50 years and at one time waitresses roller skated to take orders. Whenever I visit family in area we end up with a meal at the point. The potato pancakes are the best I have ever had, outstanding steak sandwiches so big they don't fit on the bun and the prices are insanely inexpensive. The huge steak sandwich is like $3 ! My 92 year old grandmother eats here twice a day ! The staff is as nice as it gets, just like an old time diner where they forgot to update the prices about 20 years ago.
Good substitute for fast food!!! Didn't want anything in the fridge so we decided on steak sandwiches from the point. It is your typical Wisconsin steak sandwich with the works, nothing extraordinary except for the price. Dinner for two with cheese nugs & french fries was $12. We were happy with the quality of everything and will definitely be ordering from there again.

Twisted Restaurant & Bar

W 2875 County Rd C
Sheboygan Falls, 53085
Reviews:
My parents who live in the area recommended Twisted Root to my boyfriend and I when when we were visiting from Chicago. Being from Chicago with some of the best restaurants in the world we have a very picky pallet. We absolutely LOVED this place. We were looking for a cozy Wisconsin place and this was it to a tee! Along with the great food we had the best waitress, Christina! Try to get her if you go because you will get top-notch service. Not only was she super knowledgeable about food and drinks she had a fun and upbeat personality to go with it. Careful Twisted Root because we were trying to talk her into moving to Chicago and working at one of our million amazing restaurants. Not sure how any of their reviews are under 5 stars but I would give them more if I could.
So, so bad! I'm confident in awarding Twisted, "worst restaurant in the county" and it's not even close! Time after time, it's just terrible all the way around. Cheeseburger soup = ground beef and stock. Every time I choose sweet potato fries, every time they're 1/2 cooked. And they have the nerve to tell people they make their pretzels homemade. Lol. Yes, I trust you can make and condition the dough for that properly but somehow you cannot manage to work your deep fryer or not leave a steak under the heat lamp for 10 minutes so it's leather when we get it. Just awful food. Shame too because the location is lovely!
Nice atmosphere! Sat outside on a quiet Saturday night. Our waiter was very attentive, Alex was very friendly and helpful. Our food was very good; we tried the potato skins and brisket rolls. For entrees we had the crusted chicken, the barbecue ribs and the smothered pork chop; tasty and hot. The banana dessert was delicious. We enjoyed our evening along the river. I had a free beer for checking in on Yelp but according to our waiter he couldn't take care of it because he had already ran the card. Even though he was a young kid, he didn't know what Yelp was. What? After some convincing he got it taken care of by giving us back cash in exchange for the free coupon. The bartender wasn't friendly or helpful at all, don't base your review on her. Give twisted a try if you are in the area!

Catalunya

Reviews:
We love new experiences and can't resist an order of mussels. So upon reading through the menu online we were excited to spend our Friday date night at Catalunya We should have known better. Upon walking up to the restaurant and realizing that not a single person was dining at 7:30pm on a Friday night. It was almost like walking into the twilight zone. When we asked where everybody was the response was bizarre. Something along the lines of it is a summer night and people are with their families grilling out. We began by ordering a Wisconsin Amber off of their menu and they were out of stock. So then when we went on to order the mussels, realizing that it was made with Wisconsin Amber the waiter did not understand our query as to if it's still available. He was just going to substitute a Hinterland IPA and not let us know. We went ahead with the order and changed up our beer, but were highly disappointed with the poor tasting small mussels. There was no way we were going to stick around for a sub par entree with a hefty price tag. We closed our bill and went down the street to a very crowded restaurant with great food. The lack of patrons at Catalunya had nothing to do with a beautiful night and everything to do with a poor restaurant.
First experience, dinner a couple months ago, was blah...food wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either. Service was slow, unenthusiastic, and apathetic. But I like to give new restaurants at least a second shot before making a firm opinion. Brunch today was extremely disappointing. I ordered the special "pancakes with ricotta and raspberries with bacon." When it arrived and I sliced my fork into it, the fork disappeared into a pile of MUSHY BATTER like goo. It tasted like uncooked pancake batter with raspberries. YUK! So when I asked if this is what it was supposed to be like and the waitress replied "Yes," I politely said that I wasn't implying the kitchen prepared it incorrectly, but that it wasn't something I could eat. She took it away and ignored us for the rest of our brunch...I shared my husband's "Irish Breakfast"...generic eggs, sausage, and bacon with toast and we never got any refills on water or coffee (probably because she was ignorning us, as there was only one other table in the entire dining room) The bill INCLUDED the uneaten "pancake" and ultimately we left feeling like our business wasnt wanted or important. I enjoy leaving positive reviews for places, as I am in the service industry myself, but after having been to Catalunya twice and having two negative experiences, I feel that it is fair to give them one star.
I can't say enough about Catalunya. The atmosphere is very nice, the service was stellar, and the food was divine.

Food is always consistent and good. Their fish fry is great, always someplace I go when I come home to visit family to get my Fish Fry Fix. Also have a variety of other foods, including sandwishes, salads and pizzas, if Fish Fry is not your thing. Also has Gluten Free options. Just ask!
We were passing through Sheboygan Falls and decided to grab a bite to eat before more time in the car. We entered the desolate bar, barely greeted by a brunette woman. It felt like we were an inconvenience to her, although she was doing absolutely nothing. I had a chicken cordon blue panini. It was very tasty. The bartender/server never once asked how everything was, neither did the chef/owner as he came from the kitchen to replenish his drink behind the bar and meet with vendors. We were never thanked for our patronage! Unfortunately, first impressions are lasting impressions. I speak from years of experience in the industry. All the best to this establishment.
Food is absolute crap. Frozen, slap in the deep fryer crap. Over-Fried perch, and watery, soggy mushrooms. Came here because friend wanted a burger. I wanted pizza across the street at Firehouse Pizza. He agreed he should have gotten a cheeseburger pizza at Firehouse. Came on a Monday when supposed to be closed but they had a party in the back room so they were serving others. As soon as party started to leave we were given our tab without asking if we wanted anything else. Had better food at fast food restaurant; DQ has better fried mushrooms and BK better fish. Just sad and embarrassing that someone would own a restaurant and serve that. I would assume they sustain on liquor sales.

If I could give no stars I probably would. Now our server was OK but kept forgetting to bring us things we asked for; ordered, game pads... But we tried to play the crane game and sent our 3 kids each with a dollar. So $3 total... To find out it only takes quarters, so of course my son went to get change for the $3. To come back with only $2. So politely he went and told the woman working the register he only received $2 of the $3. The woman working the takeout register proceed to tell him NO he had only given her $2. Now come on, would a 10 year old lie..... Pretty upset with the people working here. We've been here numerous times.. And service was pretty subpar, but today our service was better than normal... Food was hot and prepared properly and brought promptly to our table. Everyone we have been here the place was packed so slower service is expected. But today, on Valentine's Day at 1:00pm the place half full..... seems like they still need to work through some issues!
Went with Mom to try this place out, we've been to a BWW once before. At least this one has better lighting, but BWW will still be just as loud as Texas Roadhouse. I made sure not to come here until they had been open for business for a while, so their staff could work all the kinks out. I guess that's just not going to happen. We were served by Amy. She pointed out some limited time offers on the menu, and I figured she was suggestive selling what she was told to. I wound up ordering one of them, and she cheered and celebrated, explaining that there was a contest among employees to see who could sell the most -"I'm really good at selling", she said. That's kinda like saying, "I'm really good at manipulating you". I almost changed my mind. We waited about as long as we expected, but honestly there were only 2 other tables seated when we got there, a couple more after us, and what looked like twice as many servers as needed. It probably should've been quicker to throw 2 salads together. (I have waitressed and am currently a restaurant manager, I always give staff the benefit of the doubt and am plenty patient.) I didn't notice right away, but the dressing was missing from my salad. It took maybe 3 minutes to flag down a server, and she asked who our server was. (She could've just grabbed me some dressing imo, but we weren't her table.) We found Amy and she rushed off to get dressing. She must've been gone another 3 or 4 minutes, I don't know what took so long. On the way back with it she stopped to quickly talk to someone, I just wanna eat my food. SO, the food was good, salad with prime rib for $10+, couldn't have been more than a couple ounces of meat on there. I'm a carnivore, I thought it would be loaded. But it looked good and with the DRESSING it was great. Amy was very nice, in a fake, trying too hard kind of way. She touched my arm- don't touch me! She didn't know everything on the menu, and this happened to a much greater extent when one of my coworkers placed a call in order a while back. I thought they'd have it down by now, but maybe they're having a high turnover with staffing. The service seemed a little condescending, a little hectic, a little too carefree. I would definitely come back for the food, but the staff doesn't seem to genuinely care about guests, that would be my first impression. I guess I got all worked up after reading Jessica's review. :) If I go back I will let you know if things are different on my next adventure.
I work nearby and have been here twice since it opened over lunch. The first time we were seated immediately (Great!), and quickly ordered our food, it took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive at our table, which was surprisingly slow since we ordered the lunch specials. It was packed so we gave them a pass. I returned with three other colleagues today to grab a late lunch. We arrived around 12:30, got seated immediately (GREAT!) and was greeted by our seemingly charming and chatty waitress who had an Irish Claddagh tattooed on the back of her neck. The place cleared out by 12:45. We were seated 5-10 minutes prior to the tables next to us and ordered our food within 10 minutes of sitting down. The tables next to us were served food within 20 minutes of sitting down -- mind you the table next to us ordered chips and salsa rather than fries and the waitress forgot them and returned to give them comp'd chips. About 30 minutes later we flagged our waitress down to ask when our food will be ready; she laughed us off and complained about working 6 days per week and doubles 3 days a week -- great customer service. 10 minutes later we were a little more assertive - we told her we were planning to leave unless she could bring our food out. She rushed to the kitchen and ran straight out of the kitchen to the ordering system & spent 5 minutes typing in our order. In the meantime I scouted out the manager (CHRIS?) and waited for him to get done chatting up the bartenders to explain that we had been waiting 40 minutes for food and had not been served. He went in back to find out what was going on; but at that point we were extremely hungry and bounced. I got out to lunch in this area 1-2 times per week and would have loved to stop here at least once per month. I am going to tell all of my colleagues at the large company I work at nearby to only go here if they don't wish to eat anytime soon. Chris the manager seemed just alright - he didn't apologize for the delay which was unprofessional but I may have interrupted a billing dispute at a table nearby. Chris shouldn't be fired; however our Claddagh tatt'd waitress should be fired immediately. She waited 40 minutes to submit our order and only seemed to have 3 tables. THREE TABLES - AND YOU CAN'T PLACE AN ORDER? REALLY????

Do you like a menu that has 68 random items, each of which are interchangeable without the consumer even noticing? Do you like large portions of food that are prepared with the same care the DMV gives for your license renewal? Do I have a restaurant for you! Given the choice between breaking into my old elementary school to eat whatever Dorris decided to prepare with her $23 budget, or frequenting this feeding trough, I happily grab my crow bar and accept any legal consequences. This food is terrible. Words alone cannot describe the suffering this restaurant has inflicted on me and those I care about. Do yourself a favor: stay home, grab all the leftovers from your fridge, throw them in a blender, feed the sludge to your family, and save the $34.14 you would have paid at Park View Family Restaurant.
The quality of both the food and service rendered has continued to go down hill. The original owners took pride and worked long hours to deliver a top restaurant. The current owners spend more effort trying to make their popcorn business thrive than the restaurant. Very disappointing. ...spend your hard earned money elsewhere...
Today I ordered a belgian waffle, it came to me pale in color with NO crispiness to it at all. I took a couple bites of it and didn't care for it. I told the waitress to take it as I didn't like it. She asked if I wanted to order something else and I said No thank you I'll just have my coffee. She brought us the bill and said she had taken the waffle off the bill we thanked her and my husband finished his breakfast. Then the owner came over and informed us that the waffle was made in a professional waffle maker and then very hatefully told us we were just trying to get free food. We had been going there often over the past two years and complained a couple weeks prior about the gravy being white sometime and brown other times. Even then we told them we didn't want anything free we just want consistency. This owner had no right to speak to us in the manor that he did. If I was trying to get free food I would have ate it. I didn't eat it therefore I didn't get free food. we paid for the nasty waffle to prove a point. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what but his ignorance showed today big time. We won't be back.

Beware, and avoid this McDs. It's not a full service McDs. no strawberry sundaes, pies, or any new sandwich promos you find at other mcds. They sometimes promote the new sandwich, but then tell you when ordering its not avail at that location (or new Swiss sausage mcmuffins) and if you order anything other than the norm; like a spicy chix sandwich or fish sandwich in drive thru be prepared to wait. This visit I was asked to pull over and wait an extra 12 mins while 6 cars behind me got their orders first. Usually I have to wait 5-6 mins for a spicy chicken sandwich; so 12 mins is not the norm. But again doesn't have a full menu or wait time like a normal mcds. Also, Bring cash at drive thru. Multiple times I've been here they were not accepting credit cards; explaining to me there owner did not want to pay the fees. Not a problem if you have cash. But not so great when you don't and have to cancel the order at window #1. Kinda embarrassing. Wish they would tell you up front they are not accepting credit cards prior to you ordering. Finally. This is one if those drive thru which you much check your bag as most times there is usually one to two items missing. Usually a fries and / or a hamburger. You've been worned! But then again when do you not have to check your bag before driving off.
