It's about time Wausau got a good Vietnamese restaurant. The Pho was amazing. The entrees were expertly seasoned. All in all, it's really darn good food. And the prices are very affordable. The chef even came out to meet us, and he gave us some complementary appetizers he was developing. I will definitely go back, and I will bring many people with me. Highly recommend this place.

I had such high hopes but alas they were dashed. The bahn mi sandwich was absolutely horrid, filled with mystery meat and a sickeningly sweet yellow sauce. It went in the garbage after one bite. I may go back for the egg rolls which were pretty tasty.

The food at Pho Saigon is fantastic! There are so many delicious offerings - you really can't go wrong. I can see it being great to eat here in multiple seasons - steaming hot pho soup for winter, crisp and refreshing spring rolls and other dishes for summer. Everything we ate for lunch here the other day was fresh, chock full of authentic flavor and prepared with care. Overall we tried the pho with short rib (such generous portions of meat!), the vegetarian spring rolls (even meat lovers will really like these - they come with a yummy sauce), the vermicelli rice noodles with cut up egg rolls and grilled chicken, and one of the banh mi. Even after I was stuffed it was hard to stop taking bites because everything was just so wonderful. It smelled so good too - the aroma of the pho broth was intoxicating (I think it may have had lemongrass or something else sweet in it). The pho arrived with a little plate of garnishes - lime and herbs, which added hints of brightness to the broth. The mint in the spring rolls was also a very nice touch. We ended up having a bunch of leftovers to take home. The restaurant is not too fancy on the inside, but the food is so great that it doesn't really matter that much. When we came in, they had 2 different loud court TV shows on the televisions which made for a strange atmosphere, but when we asked for the channels to be changed they gladly obliged. I think some music would be nicer than the TVs in the future!

I've given them so many chances and they have failed me every single time. Order a bowl of pho, no tripe or tendons, and order of wings. The girlfriend ordered another dish, couldn't recall what it was. They brought out my wings and was dissatisfied that the chicken was still bloody... They brought my pho and there was tripe and tendon in my bowl. She was able to make me another bowl. But didn't get it right away. Took another 15min to get it. My gf dish had 4 pieces of hair in it. Which was definitely disappointing. After we decided to leave, they didn't offer any kind of special discount for the inconveniences. They'll never see me again.

I oredered a roast duck last week to go. It was horrible! They said they just made it fresh that day n ready to go. I waited at least 40 minutes for it if not more. If i hadn't paid for it i would of left long ago. When we got the food, it didnt smell or look fresh at all. It was warm n tasted like old food...like it was made days ago. Yuck!!! It made me almost throw up after trying a bite. I had to throw it away cuz i didn't want to get sick. I was so disappointed n a total waste of money! Til this day, i could still smell the smell n taste the old roast duck in my mouth as if it was just ordered. It just makes me just want to throw up! I love eating duck, but with this awful experience.. i don't think i can go near eating duck for a couple of years..or until the taste is no longer in my mouth. I also got sick from eating the old food :-( Such a disappointment!!!

Pho Sai-gon Noodle house! What an unexpected surprise! This is a gem and only open for 6 months! It's tucked away in the heart of bland palate country in Central Wisconsin. Came in on a Sunday evening, an hour before they close at 9:00 pm. Interior is getting redone right now. It's a work in progress. No matter. As long as it has tables and chairs that's enough for me! Split the Spring Rolls, BBQ Pork Bahn-Mi sandwich and the Bun (rice vermicelli with pork and no egg roll) with my boyfriend. We've eaten at our fair share of Vietnamese restaurants all over the country and this comes very close to the top of the list. We were SHOCKED. How can this place exist in Schofield, WI (basically Wausau) of all places? The Spring Rolls were fresh, as in like, made right after we ordered them. I never knew you could taste the difference, but now that I have, nothing else will do! The Bahn Mi was so spot on. Everything you could want from a sandwich, Chewy crispness from the bread, heat from the slice of jalapeno, carrots mildly pickled, freshcool crunch from lettuce and a savory warmth from the BBQ pork slices. Mmm. The Bun was good too. But the stand outs to me were the sandwich and spring rolls. I'll try the pho next time--cause there will be a next time fo sho. Did I mention it was well priced? There is another ethnic Asian/fusion restaurant (rhymes with Nasal) in the area that I'd escape to when I needed something other than meat and potatoes. Pho Sai-gon blows that other place out of the water on price (and perhaps taste depending on what I'm in the mood for) The waitstaff was great too. Smiling like they enjoyed their jobs and wanted to be there. It says a lot about how great the management is, when the food is this good and the staff is this friendly. Good job Noodle House! I'll be back!!

I'm always up for a good Pho place, so when this gem showed up on Yelp, I had to try it out. There was no defined host upon entering the establishment. After standing at the front desk, a woman walked over and asked if we were being helped. I noted we were looking for a place to sit to eat. She sat us down and shortly there after, our waitress came by to take our orders. The menu essentially had Pho and Vietnamnese sandwiches as the star items. I ordered a large Pho and my wife ordered a Bon. The Bon was good, but had bones in the bowl. The Pho was okay. The large Pho was not as large as I had hoped, it was about the same size as the regular bowl at Pho 76. As for taste, their broth was rather clear and they did not have many other ingredients to add to the bowl... other than the basil, bean sprouts, and jalapenos. Also, they were not as generous with their meats. I had 4 meat ball halfs and two flank strips in my bowl... for $10.00... I can get an extra large Pho combo at Pho 76 for $10.25 where they have shrimp, 4 beef flanks, 2 beef briskets, tendon, trip, 2 crab meat balls, 2 shrimp meat balls, and octopus... so the price was a bit high for a smaller offering. The place was not decorated to reflect the Vietnamese culture, so don't expect the ambiance to be there... They do have a Karaoke machine setup and on Friday nights, it starts at 9 PM. I'd say the Pho is not the best here, but if you like Bon and Vietnamese sandwiches, they are the best in town.

Would have been 5 stars had teh decor been better. i'll start by saying I frequent many Vietnamese restaurants around the midwest the best of course being in Chicago. So I went in expecting sub par being way up here in Wasau Wisconsin. If you put aside the yucky appearance you will find an authentic menu of which the average person won't understand you will find delicious phos and a large variety of ban mi sandwiches. As per usual I ordered spring rolls, they came quickly and were delicious but be aware they have a lot more mint in them than I was expecting. the spring rolls also had both chicken and shrimp! the Mr ordered a beef pho which he chowed promptly. I was impressed that they served the bean sprouts, jalapenos, etc on the side rather than mixed in to allow for personalized flavor! I ordered a BBQ ban mi sandwich, which was only 4$ so I wasn't expecting a big one but oh boy I was pleased when it arrived on nice fresh bakery bread with fresh carrot type slaw and a sweet sauce with mild spicy pork strips! after eating I had to tell our waitress how impressed I was with the food! a gentleman then came over and gave us some free flan desert which was tasty too! nothing special but still tasty! over all if you can look past the decor you will have a great meal!

We were looking for a place to eat here in town and we decided to try pho Sai-gon and not a good idea. Starting with the very limited menu you do not have much of a choice, so we picked a fried rice dish and it tasted like something out of the frozen food section at your local grocery store. It was very bland, but on the other hand the egg rolls were good and that's about it. The price we felt was a bit high for the quality of food and just for two people. Overall I may try them again down the road if they were to expand the menu and produce a meal with a bit more flavor.

Overall. Pho Sai-gon is a pretty A OK place. The Vietnamese spring rolls were quite below average and my bun thit nuong was great on flavor and the meat was wonderful - but my vermicelli was a bit overcooked which bummed me out. My husband has the fried egg bahn mi and it was really wonderful. Their bread is perfect. Our service was very nice, though, I witnessed a waitress ask a table if they were planning to tip her because she was leaving for the day. Um. Ok. Gotta say, if we didn't just move from the area we'd definitley go back and try more of their bahn mi sandwiches!
