Wow, very authentic. The owners really know their Italian cuisine. We have been there about 20 times over the last 5 years and are always full and happy when we leave. The chicken parm, lasagna, fish specials, prime rib and sicilian steak are my go to's. Home made eggplant parm is always great. Don't forget the homemade canoli for dessert.

I have only been to the restaurant a few times, but have ordered delivery from them quite often. The food is always wonderfully prepared, hot, and delivered very promptly. Either way, dine in or carry out this place is the best in the area.

This is a great, little known spot for those of us in SE Ozaukee County. Carmello the owner is always cheerful, and pleasant. The menu is diverse with classic cooking mixed in. The Maglio (sp?) steak is a favorite, but just to show how accomodating they can be, I mentioned to our server that I had a taste for Veal Piccata. Response, "no problem, we can do that for you", it's not on the menu.

This is a cute little Italian restaurant in Saukville. Ordered the gnocchi filled with portabello mushroom and cream pesto sauce. Sooooooo, delicious! My husband ordered the shrimp scampi which was awesome as well. This restaurant is truly a gem in Saukville--almost doesn't belong in such a little town. Call for reservations on Friday and Saturday nights.

Been there twice in December. Had cocktails at the bar prior to dinner. Ray the bartender is a great guy. Cocktails didn't break the bank. Had "The Maglio" steak. Terrific! Noise level was high, but not too bad. A little noise makes it a bit more exciting! Carmello, the Owner is a super guy as well! I'll be back.

Love, Love, Love Messina's. Have been there at least 4 times this year and have never been disappointed. One of the times I asked if I could substitute veal piccata (they have chicken piccata - which is also delicious - on the menu) and they were more than accommodating. Always great food and great service. Best Tiramisu. My go to place!

Wonderful evening! We had a table for 11 people and our service was prompt and very courteous. The perch dinners were excellent! Best perch in a long time. The cod dinners were also good, and the pizza was also reported as good by the teenager who ate the whole thing! Gelato, tiramisu, cannoli and spumoni desserts were all good. Definitely worth the drive too. We will be back!

Messina has awesome thin crust pizza. The crust is sooo thin, it is like a cracker. The owners are really nice people.

Some of the best Italian food around! Reasonably priced and spot-on taste. Had the eggplant parm and the chicken parm, both amazing. fett alfredo is a great vegetarian dish. Nice to see the owner Carmello and his wife Leigh around all night too. More than ample dinner portions include soup or salad as well as bread served with basil infused oil. Make a reservation for sure.

I love to support local businesses, but I have a hard time with Messina's. All the food selections taste the same to me-with a heavy parmesan taste to it all. I absolutely dislike parmesan and I was suprised to see that the spaghetti sauce even tasted like it. The mozzeralla sticks are very hard and bland. The dining area is very pretty with the handpainted murals. I heard that there is a buffet on Thursdays. If I liked the food more, it would be a great option for lunch during the week.

Wasn't too impressed with the entree standard at any Italian cafe..Spaghetti & meatballs. Sauce was undesirable with hardly any taste other than a bland tomato sauce base. They don't give you a choice of pasta either. Had to settle for angel hair which to me is ghetto-style.. Rivers Edge would have been a better choice & so much cheaper.. They charge extra if you pay by credit card.. WTF? Very un-business like if you ask me.

Love the pizza here, it's thin and crispy and delicious. I have also tried the fish fry, rice ball and ravioli, all of which were yummy. The owners and sweet and the atmosphere is cozy and clean. Only downside is sometimes there can be a lengthy wait, because the dining room is on the small side, but worth the wait for sure.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
