We both got burgers and fries which were pretty good. The Miami vice was awesome! Staff was friendly...the only thing was we went on Thursday night which is their acoustic music night. Way too loud and the performer was terrible!

Came here on a Friday evening as we passed through Wausau on our way from Minoqua to Green Bay. Five adults and one two-year old. There were plenty of open tables and we were seated right away. We ordered a round of drinks and when the waitress brought them out I asked if we could order our food right away. She told us it would be about a 45-minute wait, which was news to us. She acted surprised and told us that the greeters should have told us this. I said "yes they should have, especially considering we have a two-year old with us." Her excuse was that there was a large group that ordered before we got there. Well, in my esteemed opinion, that really isn't my problem. The large group was about 4 tables of people. We were basically forced to order appetizers for dinner to avoid the wait. The nachos we ordered were pathetic. The toppings came in a small bowl next to a pile of chips. We have been to The Bar many times in Green Bay and Appleton and have always had a great experience. Our server was awesome. She was blonde with cute glasses. I was slightly annoyed by the fact that there was popcorn all over the floor and two greeters that didn't bother to clean any of it up while we were there. It looked awful.

This was a pleasant experience. We had the cheese curds- they are hand battered there. They were good. My husband had the bratwurst - he enjoyed it . And the fries it came with were good though likely cooked from frozen. My daughter had the Mac and cheese- it was Kraft . I had a garden salad - it was fresh. We enjoyed the happy hour - but one get one for $1. That was a good deal though I agree with a previous reviewer - it is odd you get both at the same time. The decor is a typical sports bar. Our server was very nice. I think, for the area, this is one of the best choices around but, compared to other restaurants I have been to in my life, this is solidly average. There's nothing wrong with average - but there was nothing to wow me so it would be odd to give it more than 3 stars. I would go back.

Not much happening in Rothschild, WI during the week with temperatures below -40 including windchills. The Bar was recommended by the locals but was one of a few limited options in the grand scheme of things. There was a mixture of local regulars but largely business travelers from the collection of hotels in the immediate area. Each searching desperately for something unique to do but in the end settling into a long slow drinking session. I believe this accounts for the somewhat gloomy atmosphere. The establishment itself is another local version of Fridays or Chillies, with a large bar area and open seating. The Bar, much like the surrounding areas just seems to lack people in motion. It could be a nice place and perhaps it is on other nights. But it was little more then a place to have a few drinks to postpone the inevitable short trip back to the hotel room. Staff is young, some are bubbly and fun while others are moody who just expect a 20% tip for nothing. Buy one drink get the second for a Dollar. The second has to be served at the time of purchase. Silly special since the second beer is halfway to warm by the time one gets to it. Thirty-five cent wing special. The mixed drinks looked pretty good although I did not partake in them. If your in the area, head in a have a drink and bite to eat. Your options are limited and this place will hold you over until you head off to a larger city.

Might be the worst bar & grill I've ever been to. Firstly, when we got there the place was dead and it took several minutes for one of the staff to even bring us menus. Our waiter was incredibly unprofessional, he had little knowledge of the menu and when asked a question about an item he would reply with, "I don't know" or "I've never had that". Let me not forget to add that he showed up to work with hickeys all over his neck, it was beyond tacky. The food was incredibly slow and unappetizing, no one in our group even finished their meal. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and fries, which is quite difficult to mess up, but the wrap was doused so heavenly in sauce it fell apart immediately and the fries were clearly just cooked from frozen. Unfortunately, we had to stick around for several because we were attending a wedding reception there that night. During our stay we all ordered several mixed drinks (I was having double vodka/7s), no one reported even catching a buzz. I recommended steering as far away from this place as possible.

The fire pits in the back completely won me over. I'm so very impressed. We came to The Bar to eat and have a few drinks. The food was alright... I feel like there was too much food offered on the menu. My group of four tried the criss cut fries, French fries, cheese curds, chicken pot pie, and the chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, none were outstanding. I would def rather have a small menu with great food. All the mixed drinks I tried were great though. Nice open setting. Even nicer out back.

Decent food, drinks good. Went on a Mon, ordered wings (and got a deal for.35 cents for boned wings on a Mon - they have it on other nights too), fries (fries okay), could be crispier), and a drink from the bar. We got buy one drink, get one for $1, which is such a good deal. The wings come out pretty saucy and then after a while, the wings soak up all the sauce, so they get a little dry. But, the drinks were good and service was good on a Mon.

Stopped in on St Patrick's Day. Traveling through. This is a formula bar. Other locations around Green Bay, Oshkosh, Appleton. I was surprised how few people were there. Maybe not to many Irish in town. But beer drinkers... Yes! Is fine for a beer. Did not eat saw some food coming out. Has to be better food at the Kwik Trip.

If you are looking for Burger King style food and an atmospher filled with high school grads who never left a town of 35k people this is your spot...great place to get a little stupider and waste your money on horrible food. Drinks are cheap at happy hour, so I'll give it 2 stars, but a low 2.

Went here over the weekend with my brother while I was in town visiting. Had such a good time. The place on both a Thursday and Friday was totally happening. The staff is attractive, the crowd is fun.... The drinks are great and cheap!

Went on a Friday for the fish fry. Busy place but service, food and drinks were great. Only complaint is the location. In a mall parking lot that is a mess to navigate.

The center of nightlife in the area--popular and fun. Cost to worth it ratio: 3 stars Highlights: - Unlike other drinking establishments, this was hopping on a Saturday night--good energy. - Music: traditional party type music: current rap and old bon jovi, etc. - Played videos: always like to see these since I don't so much anymore - Setup: large rectangular bar in the middle with areas to hang all around - Xvodka: excited to see they have this new favorite pink lemonade flavored vodka - Fish bowls: via a video ad we saw that they had these. My sis and I reminiscing of how we used to share these at Have a Nice Day Cafe years ago, had to get one. Many options for flavors/colors--due to our waitress' recommendation, we got blue. They are sweet, but bubbly and super fun to share with lots of straws. Pics of it: yelp.com/biz_photos/oCh0… . Us drinking it: static.px.yelp.com/photo… - Location: super close to our hotel and a short drive to our favorite pizza place Sam's: yelp.com/biz/sams-pizza-… Lowlights (my flip side to highlights): - It's a chain: that's fine and all but I like original spots especially when traveling. At least it's solely a Wisconsin chain - Fish bowl straws: not long enough to suck out of the bowl so we had to makeshift longer ones by putting 2 together If we're in the area and needing some excitement, we'll be back.

We got married at Stoney Creek last weekend and when our band finished, even though my husband does not like this bar, the wedding party convinced him to come with us for a few more drinks and dances. In our excitement of the day, we both (and probably some of the wedding party) forgot our IDs. We did not realize til we got to the bar that we did not have them but the guys at the door let us right in without even asking. My husband had one drink, and he should have had a cig in the beer garden but instead he went out the front doors and when he tried to come back in they carded him and refused him re-entry. By the time the news got to me, my husband had already gone back to the hotel room, refusing to come back to such a shit hole that refused the groom. I have never been so furious in my life. I would be more understanding if they had just carded us right away and refused us because we didn't have them. Be consistent. I have never complained to a bartender/manager as much as I did that night and I am surprised they never asked me to leave (the wedding dress may have had something to do with it). SO thank you The Bar, for preventing my newly wed husband from enjoying the end of our wedding night together. By the time I found someone to want to leave and walk me back to the hotel he was asleep. Although a lot of them stayed there that night, I assure you that me, my husband, and our whole wedding party will never be giving this place business ever again. You may have ruined the end of my wedding night, but you definitely did not ruin my day - although it was definitely a mistake walking through the doors.

Good nightspot for the Wausau area... wide selection of beer and good service. Occasionally this can become a 'meet market'... that's always a plus.
