Best pizza in Racine! I grew up on the north side of Racine in the 70's and Ferraro's was the #1 pizza place with Derango's #2. The north side Ferraro's closed so when we go home to visit we drive across town just to get pizza! If you're new to Racine make sure you try Ferraro's...it is THE BEST!!

Good, midwestern deep fried amazing food & pizzas. I'm down with Ferraro's. The night before Easter, my fam and I picked up a ton of food from Ferraro's. They had something for everyone and I really enjoyed what we had! Their calzone is only $7.95 and it is HUGE! Three grown men had to share it to finish it all off.We ordered the fish bucket which comes with 10 large pieces of battered cod fish for $21.95. Another great deal for a whole lot of food.Their 'mozarella stix' are short and stubby, lightly battered instead of that heavy breading. $5.95 for an order and they shouldn't be missed! I had a the Big Eric sandwich which is two pieces of cod with cheese for $5.95. I loved it, so delicious! Everything I tried from Ferraro's was delicious. It's not for the weak minded though because it's all unhealthy, greasy, Wisconsin food...YUM!

Bad experience probably won't ever order from here again. I called in for a half and half pizza and an order of pasta. I was told 20 minutes. When I got there (about 20-30 minutes) food was not ready and the order was incorrect. They offered a discount which was nice of them of which I took. So then once it was ready the man at the register stacks the two pizzas (they gave me the messed up one for free) with the pasta on top of both of them. Yeah paper bags instead of boxes and hot cheese doesn't go together. It was nice and convenient but that's the last time I'll give them money.

Of course it's good pizza! It's Racine!! Anyway, the best thing I can do for you is tell you how it compares to other Racine pizza's. It's fantastic! They use more sauce than some other area pizzerias which obviously some people don't like. Also, their sauce is very tomato-y. It's like they really use fresh tomatoes and then add very little to them though it doesn't taste like the sauce lacks seasoning at all! This used to be my FAVorite Racine pizza but at this point, I just can't decide. Note, they do not deliver and I've never seen anybody dining in.

Farroro's pizza was number one before the late 80"s. The original owners sold the business and didn't pass the recipe secrets to the new owners. The pizza was okay but never the same. At that time, Well's Bros took the number one spot. Brushes pizza was a close second to Well's Bros. These parlors, I believe, were family owned. The recipes were their own creations and they all had distinct flavors. Of Course this is just my opinion, but Derango's pizza was the popular family parlor due its' size and cost as well as the teen hangout after school events. So, although it was popular it wasn't the best nor did it rank close to the best. True story: In the early 70's, I mainly ate Derango's pizza. Then, my older brother said, "Why are you eating that pizza?" You need to order Fararro's Pizza. I tried it and never went back. I was heartbroken when the original owners sold the business though I still ordered their pizza. However, everyone has different acquired tastes, so not meaning to "dis" Derangos. Wells's Bros pizza still has the original owners and still tastes the same. I don't know about the other parlors, but I have my family bring pizzas from "Wells" when they come to visit me in Arizona. I would love to know where the original owners of Farraros relocated because I'd love to have that original pizza. Where ever they are I'm sure they set up shop and folks are enjoying that wonderful pizza, at least I hope so. It would be unfortunate if they stopped making pizzas.
