This place always is intriguing but disappointing. The food portion isn't that large. It's never fantastic. If you're looking for a place to sit down in a booth and enjoy some cocktails or beer, this would be an ok place I guess.

Went with my grandmother for dinner. Great variety of food, friendly & fast service. I intend to come again and try something different. Weird location but good food, worth a try.

I haven't been here frequently, but every time we do come, we've had great customer service. The kitchen was quick and efficient. I LOVE all of their salads, delicious and unique combinations. My hubby loves their burgers. Will always be a local favorite.

Went there for lunch with a group. My food was the last to come out of the kitchen. The burger I had ordered was burnt, cold and dry. The bun was at least 3 days old and the fries were over cooked. There wasn't a single fry longer the half an inch. Looks like they gave me all the crap from the bottom of the fry bag. Don't bother going there.

Canyon City is so-so. I don't really understand the the wood fired grill aspect. The menu seems sort of big, more like a big city diner menu. We sampled two soups. I had the chicken dumpling - it was decent. Companion had a stuffed pepper soup. She enjoyed it. We split the special, pulled pork sliders. They were ok a bit sweet. Toasting the little buns would have been helpful. My biggest complaint was that the place didn't really seem as clean as it should have been. The first booth we looked at was sticky and my companion stepped on some errant French fries. It was convenient... Not in any hurry to go back.

Went on a Friday around lunchtime. friends and I ordered the fish. we sat at bar. Service was friendly but spotty. initially there were two pieces of fish roughly half the size of a hot dog. after about 10 minutes our waiter brought out another piece of fish roughly the same size. the fish and french fries were relatively tasteless. not to mention the car ride home I felt nauseous. needless to say I will not be going back. however my friend said they have fantastic chicken.

Came here with a group of coworkers for a birthday lunch - the birthday person's choice. They had a wide variety of burgers and other sandwich offerings, as well as some salads and other traditional fare like ribs. I had a burger, which was plenty good. The fries are large and tasty. Nothing much to complain about - the service was just fine, and we had no troubles. Prices were mid-range ($9 for a burger, or so). My main complaint is that this place is kind of out in the middle of nowhere, compared to where I live and where we work. So I don't see myself making the trip to come back.

Do NOT try this place in the afternoon. Go when it's busy. We visited this place based on a recommendation from a coworker, who has since lost some cred after our experience here. It was early afternoon on a Saturday, so the place wasn't busy. I think we were the only ones there save for a couple people at the bar. Walking inside, I noticed some chickens roasting through the window of a big oven. This was the highlight of this visit. We were both starving so we started off with a sampler appetizer with jalopeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and onion rings for about 10$. The chicken was fine--just some frozen stuff--which now we see was the theme of this place. Usually I'd DIG some moz-sticks and poppers, but these tasted like the $1 specials you see at Kroger or something. The "peppers" were yellowish, which was the same color as the "cheesy" inside. The moz-sticks were limpy, but kinda warm. Gross. Onion rings were the best thing on this plate. I left the poppers on the plate, which takes a lot of will power for me, folks. The bread that was brought out was awesome! Hearty, warm, and buttery.. just as these other reviews are stating. Eat on this for your appetizer. My entree was a burger, which (again) wasn't anything noteworthy. It was your basic cheeseburger with a little thousand island dressing on it. Most places have some similar variation of this, but this burger should have been about $6 and not $9. The meat was fine, and the bun held together well. I put it out of its misery pretty quickly because I was starving. My dining companion ordered a half chicken, and after seeing those juicy golden birds cooking at the entry, he expected something succulent. Dry, lukewarm, reheated, and "meh" were the words he used to describe it. Granted, we were likely the first ones there that day, but that's no excuse to serve reheated chicken after tempting us earlier. We didn't relay any of this to the waitress, because she was very nice, and checked with us on multiple occasions to make sure everything was ok. We didn't have the heart to tell her that this food was crap. We just smiled and said yep when she asked how everything was. I just made a mental note to make this review and never return there again. Canyon City is dead to us now, but if you want to give them a shot, please go when it's busier (around dinnertime). It's possible that the lame food was leftovers, and their fresh offerings may be better.

Had a ribeye steak. The cut was not very good, asked for medium , came out medium well . The salad was obviously pre made, because she said it was. Steak did have good flavor but not a 25 dollar steak

The food is very good and there's always a table available. They could use an update on the building and landscaping.

so, my husband tells me not to gripe about the food because I ordered the wrong food... (I ordered stir fry veggies over rice with chicken) He insists that this is a "burger/steak" kind of place ("why would you want to order THAT??") But, hey! They have it on their menu. It should be good! If they can't cook it, they shouldn't put it on their menu! Right? On the menu, it says the entree comes with soup or salad and a potato, but the server didn't ask what type of potato I wanted. So I asked what potato dishes do they have to chose from - I thought she was going to bring fries by default. Then she told me the entree comes over rice, so no potato. Err... All the veggies on the plate was overcooked and the chicken was dry. I'm not sure what kind of seasoning was on it, but it was... not horrid, per se, but... meh. A friend had pasta with shrimp. Which was also meh... (and for which my hub also said, dumb order. But I again say, it's on the menu!) Hubs had a burger. Good for him. He said he's had better. Ha!

I visited in mid February from So Cal and loved this place. My steak was cooked to perfection.....flavorful and tender. Our food came out quickly and was steaming hot. We had great service and the owner was a real sweetheart! I hope to visit again soon.

We went in a bit early for dinner(around 430p) our daughter asked for a table where it was warmer(freezing outside that day) the gentleman put us by a gas fireplace which was wonderful! They have a huge selection of food, it took us quite awhile to decide, well mainly myself! My hubby had the 1/2 rack of ribs, of course they are never that large as you'd think but he enjoyed them. I had the rotisserie chicken which was awesome. Our daughter had a burger that she said was very good. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our meal. I recommend this place as a good place for families, groups, a get together with friends.

We had the ribs and pork chops. They were very good. We are in town only two days and will go back tomorrow night! The waitress was friendly and prompt. Excellent service.

Delicious steaks, great drinks. A little loud, but I still recommend this place if you're in the mood for a good chunk of cow!

Cheaper food and beers. Friendly staff at least during lunchtime. Not crowded. Food was just so-so, nothing you've never had before elsewhere. Burgers are pre-frozen 8 ouncers.
