Maybe Pat is Cranky because people are always bitching about his (her?) pizza. The hubby and a friend and I were in Osh recently and decided to try this place. How can you resist with a name like that? Well, I did okay because I'm vegan and therefore just had the salad bar, which had everything I needed. Plus a nice veggie soup. But hubby and friend shared a pizza which had to be the ugliest pizza I have EVER laid eyes on. Actual taste reviews from hubby/friend were not positive either. It looked incredibly greasy and apparently it was. Also super-thin crust and nasty-looking falling-off cheese. Avoid!

Great pizza. Try the Hawainn won, the canadian bacon is delicious.

It was my only night in Oshkosh, so am very glad I stopped in! I was kindly guided to the bar where the mood was anything but cranky! Thanks to Ashley, the beer aficionado, I was given a lovely list of Wisconsin craft beers, and the option to "roll for each one" (a Monday night special) and got half off one of my beverages (you have to get a 1, 3 or 5, cute huh?). Overall the place is fun and quaint, the clientele was enjoyable, and I got two beers, a slice of pizza and an AYCE soup & salad bar for $13! The slice of Za was a a lil burnt at the crust but the flavor was great! Hope to return one day soon! O and there were 80's Arcade Games too, I could not leave without three rounds of PacMan!

A friend and I got takeout, and I was pretty underwhelmed. We had a nice time sitting at the bar waiting for our order (though what bartender has never heard of a Fireball and Coke??), but the pizza was not at all what I'd hoped. I don't understand why places put to-go pizza in a bag instead of a box, and I also don't appreciate cutting a round pizza into many small squares (leaving no crust edges to hold onto) instead of the usual triangles. But those aesthetics aside, the pizza itself was not great. Thin crust, seemed a bit uneven around the edges, and well, it was a decidedly mediocre pizza, just a bland crust with some stuff on it. Not the worst I've ever had, and better than no pizza at all, but geez, we should've just gone to Pizza Hut. I won't be coming back to Cranky Pat's voluntarily.

In a town like Oshkosh, that has, quite literally, dozens of local pizza places, calling it the best pizza in town is a quite bold statement. Hell, I stopped ordering from places like Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc. within weeks of moving to town. That said, I feel as that Cranks Pat's is, if not the best, certainly a top contender for the title of best pie in Osh. They have all the critical variables covered for a top shelf pizzeria; their crust is amazing, the toppings and ingredients are top shelf, and to boot, if you choose to dine in, the bartenders even make a great old fashioned. I only have a couple of criticisms of this place, neither of which are enough to deter me from giving it close to top billing for the (soon to be US Surgeon General mandated) pizza food group. Fist off, getting pizza form here togo is a mistake. Considering how high they pile on the fresh toppings, it will be a soggy mess until you happen to live a couple of blocks away. Along that same general theme, it also makes a very poor choice for the customary breakfast of champions the following morning. The best way to experience this establishment is on a dine in basis. Second, it is priced higher than almost anyone else. Even Toppers and Christianos (which are both ridiculously overpriced in their own right) can't touch the menu prices here. I get the argument that you get what you pay for. I also understand it is far superior when compared to other local options, but is it that much better that it justifies the price tag? My answer to that question is a somewhat reserved"Yes".

Was visiting area and stopped in for lunch. Had the lunch buffet. Salad bar was OK. Wasn't much of a selection of pizza available and none of what I had was hot. Was all Luke warm at most. Very disappointing.

I love thin crust pizza and this was perfect. Crispy, almost charred edges with great toppings. I have never had more mushrooms on a pizza and it was excellent. This would be a 3.5 star review if possible due to very slow service but we were catching up with family so it was really no issue and the pizza was awesome. If you do not like thin crust pizza, this place would be a mistake for you. I also like the full bar.

Not impressed with the pizza buffet. Salad fresh. Son enjoyed the pizza. I thought it was overcooked. Pasta sauce very good, according to my husband, but I thought it was average. Too pricey for the quality of the food. Would I return? No.

I went to UWO back in the day, and now I came back for a visit and had the pizza. Friendly staff still, laid back type of place. Pizza isn't what it used to be, and was burnt last time.

I'm a big pizza fan and while in town for EAA I ate at several pizza places. This was by far the best!!! Awesome toppings on their pizza and probably the thinest crust you will find. Pizza like this is usally very greasy and this was not dripping in grease and was delicious!! I'll be back next year!

I have been told this was a good pizza but I was not handed one when I checked out. First I was amazed that I paid 18 bucks for a large pizza with only one topping ($$$$$$$$$!) Then I was amazed that it was not worth the value. I hold off on a 1 star because it wasn't God awful, just MEH. I was told that I should dine in sometime because the experience is better. I have yet to try again as places nearby are far better. I enjoy a thin pizza too and this just fell flat. Considering pizza makes up 80 percent or better of my food groups, I should know. If your dining in, try it up maybe it deserves the star's it's getting. However, I would not reccomend picking it up as if you have more than a 5 minute drive you may be eating sub-par food.

Haven't had the pizza but the bar service was amazing. We came on happy hour and won a free pizza while visiting town, unfortunately it expired by the time we came back. Love the selection of only local beers, but can't wait to see the new beer menu! Thanks for the great time!

I am basing my review on Cranky Pat's pizza buffet - all you can eat variety of pizzas , salad bar and soups. Incredible deal for 9.95. I was in OSHKOSH for the night and it was near my hotel. Everybody who works there was friendly and attentive. It's not the greatest pizza I have ever had but I was very hungry, cold and in a new town and this place has a great vibe. There were some fruit flies annoying me but they just need to put out a cider vinegar trap or traps.

OSHKOSH NOSH. I was recently in downtown Oshkosh to cheer on friends running in the Oshkosh Half Marathon. The runners were very hungry after running thirteen miles and I was hungry from driving from Milwaukee to watch them run. WIN WIN! PRE: Dined on a Sunday afternoon. Group of 5, no other customers in restaurant. There wasn't any pizza on the buffet table. ORDERED: Our waitress took our drink orders and the chef came to our table and asked if we wanted to do the pizza buffet. We said yes and he's like "I'll start making them and they'll be ready in fifteen minutes". HOW AWESOME! Cranky Pat's could have easily said the buffet wasn't available. Fifteen minutes later the chef starts bringing pizzas out! The pizzas tasted awesome and everyone in our group was very happy. COFFEE: I asked the waitress what kind of coffee they had expecting a local roaster. She replied "regular and decaf". Enough said and I later spotted canisters of national commodity coffee. I walked down to New Moon for my java fix. C'mon Pat - you can offer something better than that! SINCE 1955. **Unchain & Support Locally Owned Businesses**

Yelpers Beware! If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. I completely regret my decision to trust Cranky Pat's Yelp reviews, this was hands-down the WORST pizza I've ever had in my life, and the biggest waste of $25 ever. My first indications to leave should have been when we walked in and the entire place was empty and there were at least five flies buzzing around everywhere. My boyfriend and I came in and ordered one of the specialty pizzas, a vegetarian option with spinach and feta cheese along with some other vegetables. We asked the waitress to substitute mushrooms for the olives, because of personal preference. Although we were the only ones in the restaurant, the pizza took nearly 30 minutes to arrive at our table. Once it did, I unbelievably disappointed. - I don't know whether to attribute it to the sauce or the pizza dough (or both), but the pizza was incredibly salty. - The pizza was literally a soggy mess. We couldn't even pick up the slices because the bottom was just plain wet. - The mushroom substitution was ridiculous - the cook in the back smothered the thing in mushrooms, and we could barely find a single bit of spinach, feta, or anything else. To top it all off, the waitress charged us for each individual ingredient on the pizza because we asked for mushrooms in place of olives. There was no indication of this substitution policy on the menu, and she didn't bother mentioning this when we asked for the substitution. I e-mailed my situation to the owner, Jason, and he made it clear that Cranky Pat's has no respect for their customers. This place does not deserve your business and will only leave you with regret - don't waste your time or your money.

Frozen pizza is better than this. Dripping with oil, soggy, visually looked unappetizing yet pretty tasteless. Some of the worst pizza I've eaten. Just get frozen or Pizza Hut.

Ok, I admit it - I love pizza. The love affair started way back when I was a young kid growing up on Totinos Party Pizza. Can anyone else remember when they were on sale - 10 pizzas for $10? I tend to remember different parts of my life by the kind of pizza I was eating at the time. Tonight I got to enjoy a great pizza @ Cranky Pat's establishment in Oshkosh, WI. I would recommend the "Top Row" pizza as it contains all the best items available, in my opinion. Wifey would have loved it to as it contained sausage and green pepper. Attentive service, a gregarious cook that made just the right number of visits to the dining room, and really good pizza served immediately out of the oven. Go check it out! I know I will return!

I am one of those weirdo's that doesn't eat her crust(s). That being said, I would like to let it be known that I am officially in love with Cranky Pat's! Crispy, thin and virtually crust free. I found my pizza soul mate and I rarely, I mean rarely fall in love with pizza. Maui Zaui paired with a spotted cow is heaven on earth. As soon as I got home, I devoured my left overs. Mmmmm seconds.

Very average pizza that is way over priced for Oshkosh. I know lots of people who like it, but to me the pizza tasted salty and just wasn't special at all.

These folks rock. Great pizza in downtown Oshkosh, great service. Everytime we went (multiple times during our stay), parking in front of the storefront wasn't a problem. Best thin crust we've had in quite a while. Wish there was a location in Saint Paul. Nothing up there compares to here. We loved the sausage & mushroom (fresh). Heats up great for lunch the next day!

I've heard mixed reviews about Cranky Pats so we decided to try it out. The cranky sticks were great but the pizza was average at best. I prefer a good frozen pizza over the pizza at Cranky Pats. I would go back if someone else really wanted to go but I will not recommend them or go there by myself. Very disappointing.

Got to be honest, not a big fan of their pizza. For a place that's supposed to specialize in something, I don't find it very special. It's not awful but it's not anything to write home about. After a recommendation from a friend I tried the roast beef sandwich. Wow, I was impressed! From now on, that's all I ever get there and that's all I'll recommend. If you're looking for a great pizza place in Oshkosh, check out Christiano's. Can't go wrong there. If you are looking for over priced average pizza, then Pat's is your place.

I've been here several times while on vacation in Oshkosh. The pizza is quite tasty. I recommend the Tailgater. The local craft beer selection is great. I wish they had more taps, but I can't complain too much. The service has been friendly and quick to refill my water or offer another beer. The restaurant is clean with ample seating. It's a must visit for me when I'm in town.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
