I love this place. They offered a community garden tour in the morning and a outdoor theater production in the evening. I went to both and enjoyed both immensely. They have a lot of classroom activities for the community including a very cool looking blacksmith. Make sure to check out the outdoor garden area. A must see spot in Mineral Point!

Friendly service and great food. Nice little place for lunch, dinner and old fashioned ice cream shakes! Stop in and give them a try.
Ok, I've lived in town for quite a while now. From Chicago originally. I didn't check out Betty's because, well, I just wasn't sure what to expect. Boy, am I thrilled my relatives from Chicago wanted ice cream out (an adventure) and that Betty's was my only option. I just discovered a hidden gem that serves the most amazing sundaes, floats, and REAL banana splits, all so reasonably priced. Now I'm ready to stop in and try a burger. Thanks ladies for an awesome experience and wonderful service. I shall spread the word!

Best service around...Friendly staff...Great Ambiance...Yummy food...MP dining is doing it right!
The host and the staff was excellent. The food matched their fun and positive attitude. Don't miss the chance to dine at this little hidden gem. Will definitely visit this place again.
Cute place, pretty fancy for the town I would say. I was excited cause I saw their menu online and they had mussels. I was super sad when going in and they didn't hve mussels that day. Apparently their menu changes everyday. I did find something else that was good. Pot roast, cabbage and mashed potatoes. All the waiters/waitresses were very nice and helpful. Great little place to eat!

Atmosphere was great. Waitress was helpful and knowledgeable with food and wine choices. Would go back again. Had their spaghettini and it was so clean zesty and lite. Dessert was the strawberry rhubarb crisp so tasty but their red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting just melted in your mouth.
We had a great experience here. Our server was attentive & friendly and the food was delicious! We started with the jalapeño white cheddar cheese curds with raspberry sauce. They really packed some heat, which I loved, and the sweetness of the raspberry was a good complement (though it is really sweet!) We both ordered steaks (coffee rubbed for me and Kentucky bourbon for him) with hand-cut fries and starter salads. We were really pleased with the preparation and flavor of everything. Our salads tasted so fresh! A good portion of mixed greens for a side salad. I was surprised that my husband's fries were swimming in au jus, but he liked the flavor so he didn't mind. It's great to have, but maybe in a little side cup? Taking away one star because we were a little disappointed with the brewery's porter and root beer we ordered. The root beer just wasn't cold enough (I understand that they served it without ice so as not to get watered down) and the porter was ok, but not memorable. Otherwise, we were really impressed with what they are doing at this establishment!
They did everything right! The S.U. and I were hiking at nearby Yellowstone Lake SP and swung into MP for lunch. It's located down at the bottom of Commerce St. in an old stone building. The brewmaster, I was told, has been brewing there for a long, long time and his London Porter was better than I first expected. They make all their stuff from scratch and since MP has a Cornish mining history, pasties (meat/carrot/turnip-filled pastry-pie) are on the menu. The S.U. had one with a corn souffle on the side. I had a grilled pacific sockeye fillet with a walnut pesto and Belgian fries. Very nice all around. Also, a decent wine selection that doesn't rip you off. Great spot!

At nearly 11AM, hungover from several devastating losses at Scrabble, we had breakfast at the Gray Dog Deli in Mineral Point. Even though it was closer to lunch time, they graciously served us egg sandwiches and strong coffee. The flavors, coffee, fresh fruit, hospitality and free wi-fi (my phone has no service in Mineral Point!) were all on point.
Passing through Mineral Point, and just happened to stop at the Gray Dog Deli, went in to actually use the restroom, and then stayed for lunch. My wife had vegetarian chili, which she loved, and I had a Ham and Cheese sandwich, which came with a tasty side of sweet cole slaw. Food was very good. The staff was very friendly and made us feel at home. I would go back in a heartbeat if I pass this way again.
Wow, I really wanted to like this place but, wa waa waaah.... I ordered Big Blue Beef but was served a Black Bean Burger. They offered me a side so I chose the soup but then they charged me $3.50 for the soup!! The people behind me waited 30 minutes for their sandwiches before they asked how much longer; they were told the order hadn't been placed in the kitchen and it would be another 10 minutes. I sensed their frustration and shared it thoroughly. I might try this place again someday but I can't highly recommend it, that's for sure.

Nothing fancy but very good food. I had the coconut shrimp platter. It was prepared very well and no complaints about the portions. The young waitress was very prompt and organized. We were part of a party of 12. She did an excellent job of serving the group. She was busy but maintained an excellent attitude throughout the meal. Try the pecan pie for dessert.
The food was all very good. Good cafe/diner food. LOTS of choices on the menu. Excellent cheese curds. The Pointer burger was very tasty and huge. The fried shrimp were really good, though the way they were breaded made it tough to find the tails. At the end we were FULL and satisfied. Our only real complaint was that our waitress was very young and seemed to either be new or not too experienced. And thought it wasn't busy, she seemed to be overextended with no help coming to her. So service was a little slow but very friendly. Totally worth a stop though.
The food was decent but not great by any means. I had a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and peas. The peas were from a can but the rest was good. My wife had a reuben and fries and said it was "eh", and my daughter had a hot dog and fries which she seemed to enjoy. My biggest complaint was the table next to us. There was three hicks in coveralls berating current politics. Loudly. With lots of cussing. Not the kind of family diner experience we were expecting.

A grilled chicken breast that was first thrown into the deep fryer and then the grill, meh! Overcooked fries, and very overcooked fried chicken. Server left us hanging by just leaving when her shift was done. Not worth the stop!
Great hometown bar! Great service! The pizza is excellent. Specials and happy hour everyday!
I will mention what others have already said. The pizza here is good. Good service, reasonable prices.

The meat inside the pasty was extraordinarily dry and under seasoned. Our waitress was working the cash register and immediately following, used her hands to put cherries on our malts. The interior is in desperate need of a makeover. The cook forgot to add fries to my daughter's hot dog order. The sign in the front window says, "Fresh Lemonade." My daughter received lemonade in a can. When asked about that the waitress said, "Oh, we're out." The whole place needs a kick in the ass. There is a lack of polish in every aspect of this diner.
Oh my, such a WONDERFUL place everyone is SO NICE and this place is SO QUAINT who would have ever thought that this QUAINT CUTE LITTLE TOWN would ever exist oh how I just LOVE driving up to WISCONSIN to find these QUAINT LITTLE OUT OF THE WAY PLACES I could just go on and on about the ABSOLUTELY wonderful CHEESECAKE at this one DARLING LITTLE place in this LITTLE TOWN I was in last weekend, the LOCALS there were SO NICE everyone was SO FRIENDLY...
I gew up in this little town and the Rooster was practically a weekly stop for my family. The building is ancient with a diner like feel and the food is always basic but always good. Tourists order the pasties.
