It's a swanky dive bar and bistro. Super friendly staff, but the service was a bit disheveled. Food was good, but if you love mussels it is a must go for the $8 all you can eat Tuesday night special. I am on the fence about mussels myself, but overall I ordered three rounds. The sauce itself was delicious, but the actual mussels were cold to room temperature when they arrived. Like I said, I don't eat mussels often so I don't know if that is the norm. I also ordered a side of Mac n cheese and it was good too. Everything was good, but just good so I'm not sure if I'll go back.

Have lived in MKE for nearly four years and just discovered this place existed last weekend. Saturday night dinner and it was amazing! Food, service and drinks were all superb. Best mac and cheese I've ever had. Seafood and beef items were also excellent. Tremendous value. Look forward to returning for their $8 all you can eat Mussels (Tuesday nights).

I have been here 4 times, and have enjoyed everything I have ordered. Burgers are out of this world, prices are fair, and the variations on favorites is welcomed. My wife thought the cider-braised chicken was a bit small, but it more than made up for it with it's full rich flavor. I recommend the Caesar Salad & Mediterranean Seafood Stew as a meal. The Mac and cheese also brings a smile to my face thinking about it. Tuesday Nights are All You Can Eat Mussels, I have yet to make it there for this, but look out for me, it's on the horizon. **note it is where Nina's Horsefeathers used to be**

Probably more of a 3.5. We have been here twice now. The first time was better than the second. I had the chicken sandwich which desperately needs some kind of sauce. My wife's mussels were better, though. This one is a tough rating. It's not awesome food, but the prices don't reflect that either, so I have to say that, for the price, it is a solid experience. Plus they took off the dessert from the tab due to an issue with the bread on the sandwich.

A great casual place to have drinks and a really good meal with friends. I always bring guests from out of town here and it never disappoints. One of my favorite spots in Milwaukee.

Talk about a great happy hour! I love it when spots have a good food happy hour offering, and Triskeles definitely has that. They offer $5 1/2 pound burgers and $6.95 macaroni and cheese Tue-Fri happy hour, along with great drink specials. I highly recommend getting a burger with the goat cheese, it was cooked to perfection and the goat cheese is great. Go for all three cheeses when you get the mac n cheese, we are in Wisconsin after all. Cozy atmosphere and great service all around, this is a truly hidden gem in the Walker's Point/almost Bay View neighborhood, no seriously, it's in a neighborhood on a corner, you'll need to now where you're going to find it.

Was here for the first time at the end of March for the beer dinner with Milwaukee Brewing Co. The 6-course meal and beers were well worth the $35 cost. I would like to return for a regular meal to explore the chef's other creations. I will definately be back!

I give this place a solid 4 for their drink specials and the awesome food. They wings I had were extremely tender and fall of the bone. There was a dry rub version that rivals points east. But the wings change time to change on the rotating menu. If sangria is on the menu, give it a whirl for sure.

Have you ever been to a Mac and Cheese party? That's what our table of 7 looked like on a Saturday night. Lots of great options to choose from. A few people had the special mac that evening, which was something with prosciutto and bacon. It looked amazing. I stuck with a goat cheese/aged cheddar and added in some chicken. Perfect combo for me. Would like to get back here sometime to try other dishes. Very cozy feel to it with a normal sized Christmas tree and decorations in the back room making you feel like you're at home for the holidays.

I've had many Mac 'n' Cheeses. Dozens. Hundreds of thousands of noodly cheesiness. Triskelelele's is hands down the winner. Get it with all three cheeses. - Cozy place, friendly service. Owned and run by two women! Everything we've had there has been quite good.

Wow...eight years they have been in business and I feel so bad that I have not written a review yet about Triskele's. This has always been a hidden gem for me tucked away between Bay View and Walker's Point. The ladies running Triskele's are some of the hardest working owners you will find. Tuesday is probably the best night at Triskele's if you LOVE mussels. Who can resist AYCE mussels for $8? You can choose between two preparations and alternate between both. I had the Thai coconut curry and it was just the right heat with a sauce that you wanted to lick off the bowl. The AYCE mussels comes with a small bread basket with delicious salted butter. A couple of mussels had a slight grit to them but overall most were delicious. My hubby had the garlic broth mussels and it was tasty but not as good as the Thai. If you aren't into the whole mussel thing then another great deal is the Thursday $5 appetizers. Their buttermilk calamari is cooked crisp without any rubbery texture and served with deep fried spinach leaves on top. The spinach adds the perfect element along with the citrus aioli. It rates as one of the top fried calamari I have ever ordered. Another crowd favorite is their mac n' cheese which is probably one of the better mac n' cheese in Milwaukee. The serving portions are generous and the sauce is very creamy...I would hate to know how many calories are in this sumptuous dish. Typically I roll with goat cheese and cheddar and sometimes add chicken if I am in the mood. For summer they just added the sautéed spaetzle and vidalia onions in garlicky mushroom broth with fresh spinach, tomatoes and shaved Pecorino-Romano dish that sounds AMAZING. Next trip I am going to give this a try. I have tried their wings that some people rave about but I wasn't into the taste when I tried them. They had a weird dusting of flavoring that didn't appeal to me but to each their own. Typically we have great service but a couple of times we were let down but in general it is good. We find that service at the bar tends to be slightly more attentive. Remember that this is a small place with a small kitchen. Triskele's is a little off the beaten path but is worth checking out.

One of the worst dining experiences that we've had. We Went for my fiancé's sister's birthday with about 10 people. Waited over 30min to get bread, another 15 for apps, then another 30 for main courses. We didn't even get refills on waters, and the cocktails we ordered were delayed because the bar had run out of clean glasses (on a Thursday!) I actually had to leave to meet another group of friends before the main courses arrived. My fiancé said that no one liked their food. Things were overly salted or cold when they shouldn't have been. Beyond all this the bill seem close to $60 higher than it should've been. Because the bill wasn't line item doubt it was impossible to tell me why this had occurred, and the waitress insisted that was correct. When I got a chance to try my burger the next day as leftovers and the burger itself was raw, barely having touched flame. I would save yourself the trouble of the flustered waitstaff, long waits, substandard food, and exorbitant cost.

I'm coming back! Service was fantastic. I had their mac and cheese speciality as gluten-free and it was fantastic. I will definitely have it again. It could use a bit of updating in the decoration but that was about it.

There's nothing better than taking a group of friends somewhere and the words "hidden gem" rolling off their tongues as they leave. Triskele's earned the heralded fifth star last night when our group was blown away by the food and the service. The draw was their AYCE mussels for $8. Each Tuesday there are two flavor choices and the Ginger Garlic Broth and the Thai Coconut Curry were both outstanding. The happy hour mac and cheese was equally fantastic. A large platter (choose any from cheddar, gouda and goat or three cheese FTW) is only $5 and is some of the best comfort food on any menu in the city. The $5 burger (available during happy hour) and the house made Sangria ($5, or $4 special on Thursday) should also not be missed. Also worth note was the stellar service our large group received, even when most tables in the restaurant were full. For someone who loves planning outings is great to hear your guests expressing a desire to return soon to a spot that you introduced them too. And I need to thank JoLinda and Lynn at Triskele's, they did all the hard work to make our evening awesome!

This was one of those "I'm really torn at how to rate Triskelies", so I gave them a 4 because they were on the upper half of a 3. Went in for their Famous AYCE Mussels. At arrival, we had to wait for friends to join us so we waited at the bar. I had a sangria and my boyfriend had a brandy old fashioned. The Sangria was nice, good taste and refreshing. Like most sangrias, it isn't loaded with fruit (that's a bonus for me). The bartender was really friendly and really helpful (we discussed the menu and she gave great recommendations- she actually sold us on the Mac n cheese). Once our friends arrived, we chose to move to a table. The place is small, but comfy and had great artwork. We were quickly greeted by our waitress and all 4 ordered the mussel special. They always offer two favors for the special, tonight was a creamy caramelized onion and the other black Bavarian shallot. We also decided to order a side of Mac n cheese to share. The first round of mussels and Mac took about 20+ to arrive. Although I was getting really hungry, the food arrived and was hot and fresh. The Mac n cheese was thick and delicious, but... Salty. The mussels were about a half pound serving and were large. Both flavors were delicious, especially the caramelized onion. We knew that we should order the second round right away, when we placed that order we were informed that after that, they were out of mussels for the night... Wait, whaaaat?? Because we ordered the Mac n cheese, I was full, but I would have been miffed if I hadn't been. Concerns me for my next trip. I know I will be back, but with the threat of running out of mussels, I may order off the regular menu, just to be safe.

What a cute corner place!!!! The menu has a nice variety. Beer list was good too. We arrived at 5:30. The service though out was a little slow. I had the seafood stew as recommended by our server. The mussels were a bit tuff, fish and shrimp portions were very small and the plates looked boring. My friend had the mac and cheese with chicken. That was ok. The chicken was way over cooked and dry. It's pricy for the quality of food. The place is cute but the food lacks. Maybe I will try it again to see if my review can change for next time.

Keeping it real up in this (MKE) piece can be a tedious, teeter totter-esque task. Update those reviews, people! Do you still really believe what you said about that one place in 2011? Maybe you do. Then again, maybe you don't. After our most recent visit to Triskele's featuring four drinks (one glass of wine/three cocktails),, an absolutely incredible bowl of cauliflower/brussels sprout soup, a small Cesar salad, chili spice fries and pork shoulder enchiladas, I'm rocking it to four stars. I believe a four is where Triskele's shall stay henceforth and forevermore in my book... maybe, probably. Let me be clear here: four stars = awesome. (Anyone who thinks otherwise is dead wrong. Four is great.) Every good thing I said about this lovely and unassuming little joint still stands. The food is good, the people are very nice. I'd be remiss not to mention, however, that last go around felt a little lackluster to me. The price points for what we ordered and received seemed a touch high overall, and I wasn't blown away or even really that into anything this past visit save for my soup. My god, that soup. I really really like Triskele's, but I gots to keep it (respectfully) real. (That's what Yelp's all about, isn't it?)

After one visit I'm ready to put Triskele's up in my MKE top five favorite restaurants. Haven't identified the other four officially BUT THE POINT IS Triskele's is so good, so many different ways. This place is cute. It's tiny and cozy and nicely decorated but unpretentious. When I was there on a Tuesday night for all you can eat mussels, it also seemed like only a handful of people were running the joint--waitresses doubling as hostesses and bartenders--but even without a huge staff, they ran a tight ship. Super impressed with our awesome waitress who managed to be exceptionally helpful, friendly and attentive, even while doing a million other things at once for all her other tables. Can't say enough about how good the service was. Okay but the food: AYCE mussels were flavorful, plentiful and so cheap. Go try it for yourself (but make a reservation). I also had the mac & cheese with all three cheeses and andouille, and it was a truly religious cheese experience. Didn't try any cocktails but I will next time -- hopefully during the happy hour, which I hear is great. Already excited to come back!

Triskele's is a hidden gem in Walker's Point that I fully intend to exploit to the fullest now that I know about it. Happy hour specials are tremendous and Tuesday night a group of us tried the all you can eat Mussels for just $8. I have never had mussels before. I am now a fan. Triskele's served them in two kinds of broth. One was a ginger - garlic that was warm and fragrant. The other was a coconut curry. They were both equally delicious and I had both. They were served with crusty bread by the basket with butter to sop up the broth. Mmm! Other happy hour specials featured included a half pound cheeseburger for $5 and a plate of homemade mac and cheese for $5 - that is a special every day. Add in the 2 for 1 drinks and it's a solid deal. The atmosphere is nice at Triskele's. It's not upscale but it's cute and cozy. Comfortable. Six of us met up to try out Triskele's. Traffic and the commute had us all trickling in and leaving at staggered times. Our waitress was terrific and so accommodating. She brought out bowl after bowl of mussels, bread, mac n cheese and burgers and drinks in what seemed like a continuous loop. We had great food at a reasonable price in a cozy atmosphere with attentive service. What's not to like?

This place is small & kinda casual nice. Like nice, but casual. But you can wear something nice. Especially you. So hot. Try this on: Triskele's for your bellies. Yes. And try the wings. The wings. You'd never expect them at a place like this, but my sweet dear merciful god. They are big & made so well. They are fresh & braised & fried & come in all sorts of flavors. And I don't know what braised means. [clickitty clack - typitty type] Oh, I see: "It's a combination-cooking method that uses both moist and dry heats: typically, the food is first seared at a high temperature, then finished in a covered pot at a lower temperature while sitting in some (variable) amount of liquid (which may also add flavor)." That's what I would have guessed, certainly. Like I said, they have a number of choices in wings, but I have to get the Cabernet Glaze w/ Porcini Powder style because they are so uniquely great. I've never had a wing like it. The others are great, as well, so don't resist the temptation. But this certainly isn't a chicken wing joint. Triskele's is great for a date. Your parents would probably like it too, if your parents are cool & like good restaurants. Even if they are lacking in those departments, they just want to spend time with you, so they'd remember Triskele's as a wonderful experience. I used to live a half block away, so I've tried many of their offerings. I've never been disappointed. Thoughtful menu. Careful preparation by friendly folks. Comfortable atmosphere. Solid selection at the bar. Get at it. Triskele's for your bellies. I can guarantee the owners / operators would hate that phrase. They seem to be cool & classy & confident & not dorks. They are very friendly. They make Triskele's even better. Maybe you'll come back for that fact and watch them work their magic in the open kitchen. Or maybe you'll crave those wings. Or maybe this will be your new out-of-the-way secret date spot. You can bring that new sexy animal you met at The Outlaws Clubhouse a few blocks away. Oh, you didn't know? Motorcycle gang. You can't just sign up, but you sure can buy their merch! outlawsmc.com/supportsto… outlawsmc.com/history.ht…

After hearing about this place for a long time... This is going to be one of my new regular spots. Great drinks, varied menu, decent prices, and great service. I came for the all you can shame eat mussels (tuesdays, $8!) and was pleasantly surprised to see that not only were they served in decent half pound portions, but they were offered in two different varieties, including a Thai coconut curry... which was so flavorful, I swear to god Gordan Ramsey came down in a chorus of angelic light and punched Guy Fieri right in the throat and this flavor came out. -Pro tip- Dunk your bread in it. It's there in that basket for a reason. I'll definitely be heading back here to try some of the other fare, as the Curry Fries smelled AMAZING.

My latest selection here was the grilled Mahi Mahi with mushroom butter on a bed of arugula paired with goat cheese potatoes. Everything was delicious as usual including their bread and butter. I also caved in and ordered dessert this time, the vanilla cheesecake with some sort of almond sauce. It was rather heavenly. We've only ever dined while sitting at the bar (where, by the way, I saw some killer looking meatballs prepped to go out, so I think that will have to be next on my list), but the booths in the dining room look intimate and cozy and I would be glad to bring some friends or family along and sit back there.

This place is hands down one of my favorite Milwaukee restaraunts. Their happy hour specials are unbeatable- 2 for 1 drinks, and $5 Mac n Cheese and Burgers before 6pm. And their Mac n Cheese is TO DIE FOR- you can pick any combination of Cheddar, Goat, n Gorganzola (I recommend all 3), definately the best Mac n Cheese I've ever tasted and for $5 for a generous portion you can't go wrong. The staff is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is quaint and cozy.

My FAVORITE restaurant in Milwaukee. $8 All You Can Eat mussels on Tuesday, so good and the (choice of two) sauces are so good soaked up with endless bread baskets. BEST mac and cheese in Milwaukee with your choice of different cheese, the goat and cheddar combo will blow your mind. EXCELLENT happy hour specials and amazing soups (you can also get them at Sugar Maple!). Please try their toasted house made stout beer bread w/ roasted garlic cloves & caramelized shallot butter wIth honey and arugula.. Seriously. Do it.

Went here on a Tuesday for dinner, completely unaware that Tuesday is $8 all-you-can-eat mussels night. It was packed but we grabbed a couple stools at the bar and ate there. I know it's weird but we weren't in a mussels mood. I ordered the pork loin schnitzel and my husband got the flat iron steak with gargonzola cheese. Both were excellent. I'll tell you what's also excellent: the staff. The chef/owner works in an exposed kitchen with only one assistant. Everyone works very efficiently, with not much chatter. The bartender was clearly very busy but so calm and friendly. They have happy hour Till-Th 4-6. This includes 1/2 price Mac n cheese (which is great) and $5 burgers. Their website lists other specials. We are making plans to go back on another Tuesday for their mussels special and pair it with their truffle oil fries. Yum!

Went here with a Foodie Friends group on the recommendation of Yelper Carrie G. I was intrigued and will return. Keep in mind this is not a place for large groups. Location: to be honest I have no idea where I was and still don't. I just followed my GPS but between the crazy fog that night, and the spooky after dark construction on a bridge, I could have easily traveled into a temporary worm hole that was only open for a few hours. Somewhere in the loosely defined 5th ward. It is a cute little corner building with the corner entry. Ambiance: when we entered at 7pm on a Thursday, it was pretty packed but keep in mind this place it tiny. There is no closed kitchen! the kitchen is behind the bar in full view. It was mostly wood interior with large bright paintings and a few plants to perk up that old Milwaukee corner pub construction. We made a reservation for 10, they were very accommodating however I would say if you have more than 4-6 in your group, it is just not set up for that. Keep in mind the size of the kitchen, it is an added stressor for them to get all your meals out at the same time of you have a large group. They handled it well but we did end up there for 2 full hours due to managing the size of the group. Staff: again the size of our group was not a match, they were out of menus for all of us when we arrived. I think there was really one or two wait staff for the whole place so we gave our guy a run for his money. He handled it pretty well. They were also very patient with us because we botched our bill trying to pay as a group (we needed a bill manger). Food: Very Very nice options on the menu. It was tough to choose. Thursdays is $5 apps too. I went for sangria, Mahi Mahi with bacon and mustard on a cedar plank and yucca fries. Nice flavors, and prepared decently. They had some nice vegetarian options and some creative apps. Price: most entrees were around $17 which is a stretch for this non-profit employee when you want to add an app and a drink, but I was pleased with the food and my options. Overall: quaint place, good food and very unpretentious. I will go again, in a smaller group.

First time at Triskeles....Lynn and Joelinda put together a great dining experience. The food, drinks and atmosphere are all top notch. We had the mussells, short ribs, chicken sausage gnocchi and the parmesan fries and each dish had great flavor and was executed to perfection. If you are looking for a local authentic milwaukee experience this is it.

WOW- If we keep reviewing this place, there will never be anywhere to sit ! What can I say that hasn't been said? Just my observation- these wonderful food artists have taken everyday menu items, and given them flavors that are unbelievable. Meatloaf? This ain't your mothers meatloaf - again flavors, flavors, flavors! How do they do it? It's like the 7 course dinner gum on Willy Wonka- How did they get ALL those flavors in there! The Gorgonzola mac and cheese - geeze man, you really just need to try it. I mean, it's just incredible food. Honestly, I'm a bit jealous, I fancy myself a pretty darned good cook, and I have NO IDEA how this place makes this food taste so damned good. I've sat at the bar for hours watching, studying, but it still eludes me.

I decided to split the difference on this one, having gone to Triskele's twice and having an exceptionally good experience followed by an exceptionally bad one. On our first visit, the place wasn't very crowded at all, and we received fast and attentive service. They also left off the extra curry on my burger on my request, although they failed to the second time around. I had the amazing brussel sprout and french fries appatizer, followed by the Egyptian rice burger. My fiance also greatly enjoyed his meal, and we both vowed to come back. Oh, what a mistake that was. We showed up a couple months later and, again, it wasn't very crowded because we had arrived early. We were told we couldn't sit in the back, because a large party was coming in thirty minutes later. Sure, no problem. We ordered our food (the same we order the time previous, and I made sure to ask for them to leave off the extra curry) and then.. we waited, and waited, and waited. The large party arrived in trickles, and eventually their drink orders were taken (and yet we were still waiting for our food). The kicker was that the 10 + people ordered and then received their appetizers before we did. We were both pretty annoyed when we received our food, and ate quickly because we had plans late. We had to try to flag down our server for the check, and eventually we got his attention. Then we waited an additional 10 minutes for him to take our check and credit card, only to have to wait an ADDITIONAL ten minutes for him to bring our card back. So, look, I know it was busy. I know that it's a small restaurant, so a 10-15 person party can be a drain on resources... BUT YOU KNEW THEY WERE COMING AHEAD OF TIME. Put extra staff on the schedule, or at least don't put the 2-3 person parties on the back burners. Will we be back? Maybe. The food is good, but service that night was absolutely terrible. There is no reason why that large party received their food before us, despite us ordering before they even arrived. We heard them mulling over their menus and ordering, so it's not like they put their orders in ahead of time.

The good: pickles and Mac n cheese The bad: my gnocchi was seriously burnt The ugly: extremely slow and poor/inattentive service even as the place was clearing out; felt like maybe you need to be a regular to get good service I want to give this place another chance since so many reviewers think this place is worth their time and money, but there are so many restaurants in Walker's Point area that are simply amazing. Honestly, I doubt I'll be back. First impressions mean a lot when delicious options are plentiful.

We went to Triskele's for the first time last night and plan to be back very soon. Some of the reviews mention it's super busy on AYCE mussel's Tuesdays, but we went around 7:30 and there were only about 4 other tables taken. Maybe it was because it was snowing a little? Our waitress was AMAZING! She was super quick with all service and asked if we wanted to reorder plenty of times. The mussels came out really quickly and were delicious. The choices were Creole Tomato or Cajun Cream and they both had amazing flavor. For $8 it was really a bargain. The drinks were also good. I had a Dark n Stormy served in a mason-jar type glass. We'll definitely be back and I think next time I want to try the vegetarian pot pie because it sounded delicious!

Yummy! I gotta get here more! The Mac and cheese is wondrous, so are the beet chips. And I thoroughly enjoyed the cauliflower dish. Waitress was super nice and friendly, loved her. And I think it's very reasonably priced.

It's a testament to Milwaukee's culinary scene that Triskele's doesn't stand out as much as you might expect. A renovated corner bar with a barebones staff cranking out seasonal dishes as the chef sees fit? Old hat in this part of town. Hell, despite me driving through the intersection one block east literally hundreds of times, I didn't even know they were there. Probably just as well, because the tiny space fills up quickly. Even sitting at the bar isn't a guarantee to faster service, as the one bartender is constantly moving to keep up with the meals of the elbow rubbers plus the drinks of every other table in the building. I was worried the chef's backlog of tickets would put a damper on the all you can eat nature of the mussels, but renewing my order didn't take as long as the initial placing of it. There were two sauces in which to dress my bivalves - one creamy, one made from reduced beer. The beer used was Sprecher's Black Bavarian, a big and bold schwarzbier that, like many strong beers, gets bitter when it's cooked. I didn't think it was a good use of the beer. The creamy one, on the other hand, I thought would be overwhelming and heavy, but was actually very well-tempered. I tried the soup of the day, which was fine, and the truffle fries, which are a little dated at this point. For a restaurant that has a third of the menu under the category of "vegetarian", the opportunity to eat vegetables is pretty limited. I wasn't going to order an entree, so I was stuck choosing between the fries, beer bread, and a salad. Ham and cheese "beignets" didn't really communicate the two main ingredients as well as I would have liked, and to associate them with a typically sweet dish is misguided. The jalapeno-pomegranate marmalade was nice, though. Sitting there watching the open kitchen, you really get a sense of how much work goes into all of this. And sure, not everything was successful, but to have a good time, sitting there gorging myself on mussels, Triskele's is pretty alright.

Love, Love, Love Triskele's. Food and service is good every time. My favorite things to order would be the Mac n Cheese, get it with three cheeses, and crispy fried wontons, they sprinkle on curry powder and have this really great sweet and sour type sauce. Menu is smaller and ever changing. Really a hidden gem in the up and coming Walkers Point culinary scene

When asked what is my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee, I tend to always include Triskele's in the list (as it's impossible to pick just one place). The mac-n-cheese has been a constant since they opened and it never disappoints. The cabernet glaze chicken wings are some of my favorite in the city. I'm sure others have mentioned it, but the AYCE mussels special on Tuesday nights makes it a 5 star alone. There's always two different varieties and I like that they don't give you a ton at once so you can be sure to at least try both. I also really like the fish fry on Fridays. The breading isn't too think and you get just the right amount. Also, decent tap selection which is 1/2 off on Wednesdays (so are bottles of wine).

My husband and I stopped in at Triskele's on NYE for a bite to eat. We ordered the lobster bisque (excellent) and the Parmesan fries (also good) as appetizers. Our server was quite friendly and attentive, which was nice. The music was at a perfect volume, and the wine was delicious. For dinner, I ordered the vegetarian polenta dish, which was actually my whole motivation for choosing Triskele's -- I love polenta! Unfortunately the polenta itself was tasteless. The mushrooms and the accompanying sauce were good but they could not make up for the blandness of the polenta. I was very disappointed. My husband ordered the hamburger -- the sandwich was very small and the taste was just so-so. Overall, while we really loved the appetizers, our entrees took away from our experience, and this is why I'm rating Triskele's three stars. We might be back, though, because the service was so good -- the server took my entree off the bill, which was quite kind of her.

Love this little hidden gem on the southside! The owners are amazing and I am never disappointed in the food. Love coming here for AYCE mussels for $8 on Tuesdays! Servers are attentive, you get free bread (always a plus in my book!) and drinks are relatively inexpensive. Overall a great place for a quiet and cozy dinner!

Wow! How have I not found this place over the years that it has been open. The menu intrigued me. I ordered the all-you-can-eat mussels. I felt bad that the delicious flavor options provoked me to take advantage of the AYCE. You can't stop! I also tried one of their salads and the flavor did not seem like a salad at all. It was delicious! The senses come alive at Triskele's. The restaurant is quaintly tucked away into the neighborhood of BayView. The location brings comfort in a way that only a true Midwesterner would know.

Fantastic little gem of a restaurant! Everything we had last night was excellent. Really loved their mussels! The Collie flower steak was an excellent vegetarian choice --- will become one of my favorites.

I really liked this place with all their vegetarian and meat options. I stumbled upon this place after leaving Kozs mini bowl and I am glad I stopped by. They have a great beer selection and the atmosphere is great. The service and food were both really good. They split up their menu by meat and vegetarian options, which makes it great for bringing a date there.

I 'm hesitant to be too tough on this sweet, neighborhood place because the people are so gosh darn nice and they try so hard. The servers are great and the atmosphere cozy but (there's always a but - sorry) the food really isn't awesome. We recently went on a Friday because a few of our friends wanted a fish fry. Three people got that, and three of us got other things including appetizers. First, the good news, the old fashion presses and specialty cocktails were super. Service was lovely. The nacho appetizer (which chorizo) just tried too hard - it was greasy and heavy and would have been better by draining browned chorizo and leaving off they mysterious cacao creme. The fried calamari was okay, but the batter was falling off. The fish fries only came with bread, fries and fish - no coleslaw to cut the grease - and they were indeed greasy. I ordered the salmon, spinach and roasted potatoes. The salmon was done well, but very simply, but the spinach was unseasoned and needed a better wash (was gritty) and the roasted potatoes appeared to be reheated using the deep fryer. The other two people got the burgers which were passable but served on a really uninspiring bun. We also ordered a piece of the flourless chocolate cake which was okay. Our bill was well over $200 which seemed steep for the type of place and quality of food. But (there's always a but) my partner and I said we've try it again but probably eat at the bar so you could watch the open kitchen and have wings and a salad to play it safe - their wing selection looks really interesting!

This place is cool. Great bar as you walk in the door, and the open kitchen format is excellent. I was yet another person to go in for the all you can eat Tuesday mussels, and the 4 dozen I ate were amazing. The Milwaukee Mule (Moscow Mule) was also perfect. This place is a real gem in this quiet section of Clock Tower Acres (or The "Fifth Ward" as they call it now). Well worth a visit. Nice large area in the back has tables and booths.

Triskele's - you did not let me down! I was so intrigued by everything I tasted that I can't wait to come back and try a bunch of other things. The 3-cheese mac was great, so were the shrimp rangoons (but I wish they had more filling in them), and the star of the show was the wings with the cabernet sauce. Wow, those were good. Nice little restaurant with great service and a warm feel.

I am not quite sure why I hadn't been here until recently. May have been the location, is tucked away on about 3rd and Maple...Not the nicest part of the South Side. Either way, glad I finally gave it a whirl. They've got great customizable mac n' cheese. The parm fries with white truffle oil are delic. The owners and staff are amazingly kind. Ambiance chic but welcoming. Short and sweet menu...They do just a few things a night organized by Meat, Seafood, and Vegetarian and they do them well. Definitely worth a trip.

My family went to Triskele's tonight to celebrate my Dad's birthday. The server was very personable and attentive (plus, she had awesome blonde Marilyn Monroe hair). We ordered a plate of parmesan fries and a plate of wings that came with a delicious cabernet reduction. We all had great drinks, but my mom had a cherry brandy old-fashioned that came with brandy-infused cherries. She loved it! We all had great entrees. I had the mushroom polenta bolognese. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious and savory and the polenta was grilled perfectly. My dad was surprised by a birthday dessert that was a piece of the flourless chocolate cake with some of those great brandy-soaked cherries on top. It was so rich, but delicious! We'll definitely be going back there again!

Wow, best Macaroni and Cheese I have had in a restaurant ever AND they have Gluten Free and vegan options. Lots of great local beers and cocktails, friendly waitstaff and creative salads. Was busy when we showed up and you can't eat in the bar or snack while you wait, but it was worth waiting for.

The food is so good. My husband had the all you can eat mussels and re-ordered three times! The mussels came in a light cream sauce or a garlic butter sauce and he had both. He loved them. I had the beer, sausage and potato soup. The broth was thin and light and it was so flavorful. It was delicious. I also had a side order of the macaroni cheese with gorgonzola and goat cheese. It was also fantastic. The sangria was really good as well. The restaurant is small and quaint and I love watching the cook fill the orders right behind the bar. The servers are friendly and the prices are reasonable. The menu is limited but that's ok, quality is always better than quantity.

My Partner-In-Crime (my wife) and I left the house in Bay View to find somewhere for fish fry last Friday night. The car steered it's way to Triskele's. Thank the Good One that it did! We had the Seafood Stew and the Beer Battered Cod to eat, with (for me) an MGD and my wife, the Lakefront IPA. The stew was amazing - plenty of mussels, shrimp and chunks of cod, with a broth worthy of being a soup on its own! Perfect amount of smoked paprika (I think?) in the broth, gave it a nice smokey flavor and they were generous with the request for more bread to sop-up the remaining liquid. The Beer Battered Cod was pretty darn good too. This serving wasn't too heavily breaded and the fries were perfect. Their tartar sauce that accompanied the fish was terrific. We sat at the bar, as we felt like being more casual and could watch the silent and very efficient action in the kitchen - the two chefs working together like the proverbial "well-oiled machine" - a pleasure to watch. Definitely worth the trip to Triskele's.

Visited recently with my family. We all had a great time. I had a pound of mussels in a creamy coconut curry sauce, which was delicious. The curry sauce was so good I actually used some of the bread to soak it up! The Parmesan fries were fantastic. Overall we had an excellent time. I'll definitely be back!

Overall this was a good meal and I would go back. I shared the parmesan truffle fries with my husband and they were delicious. I got the macaroni and cheese with all three cheese options (you can pick your combo): gorgonzola, aged cheddar, and goat cheese. The portion was large and it was tasty. They got the triple cheese/pasta ratios just right - I hate when you order mac and cheese and it gets really oily - this wasn't like that. My husband got the chicken fennel sausage with mustard gnocchi and he really liked it. It's kind of a minor thing but I liked that the menu was divided into three sections - meat, seafood, and vegetarian and there were appetizer and entree selections under each. Their soups sounded really creative and unique so I hope they do a vegetarian option sometime. I'd go back again to try some new vegetarian dishes.

South siiiiiide - how did I not know about this place? So, it looks like a corner bar from the outside (which I suppose technically it is) with its neon beer signs in the windows. Inside though, it's a cozy place with wooden booths and tables throughout the back area. Service was on par and the food was yummy. I opted for the mussel appetizer (true appetizer size, thought it would be bigger as it is at other establishments) which was decent. I will be back for the supposedly all you can eat mussel special. Also tried the gazpacho which was good except for the brothy part of the soup (it tasted like tomato juice). Do not go here without ordering the parmesan truffle fries (super crispy goodness served with an aioli dipping sauce). The fries were the highlight of the meal I believe. Looking forward to coming back!

Hell yeah, me and my GF come to this place every now and then. We like to sit at the bar. The atmosphere is very cozy, service is consistently awesome, and all the food we've ever had here has been good to excellent. They made a clam chowder once that was really kick-ass, and steaks are served with compound butters that are so good. Menu is not cheap but it's good stuff, and there are happy hour specials with very affordable munchies, and fair beer prices make it a good place to sit and have a few with a meal. The menu changes seasonally. Good date spot, highly recommended.

Gluten-free Macaroni and cheese. Done. That is reason enough for me to come back. I absolutely love that they have delicious gluten-free pasta and a lot of menu offerings that aren't loaded with breading or flour. Very helpful for those of us who need to avoid the wheat. But back to my main point: MACARONI AND CHEESE! If you've noticed my Yelp profile, I kind of have an obsession with mac'n'cheese. I can safely say that this place gave me the BEST MACARONI AND CHEESE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I'm not exaggerating. Not in the slightest. I have a very discerning palate for this thing, so I know what I'm talking about. The night I visited they had a special featuring mac with rosemary, gorgonzola cheese and a cabernet reduction sauce. All of those flavors mingled together to make the most amazing dish. The little drizzles of cabernet sauce throughout the dish broke up the amazing richness of the gorgonzola perfectly! I can't sing the praises of this plate of pasta enough. I can only aspire to this greatness in dreams! My dining companions all tried it and loved it. One of them absolutely detests Mac, but even he couldn't stop stealing bites. Please give Triskele's a try. I believe strongly that you'll be as amazed as i was.

My husband and I went to Triskele's for dinner on a Saturday evening in October. The atmosphere and service were just ok and our meals were very disappointing. We shared a burger and the special Ravioli. To start off the burger was slightly undercooked for medium. We got the chili fries with the burger and the fries were really greasy and the seasoning they put on the fries you could hardly taste. Not sure why the fries are called "chili fries". We also got the Ravioli. The cheese stuffed inside the ravioli was good but they put this amaretto sauce over the Ravioli and it was awful. It was way overpowering and way too sweet. For what you pay for your meal I expected a lot more. We were very disappointed in Triskele's and it would take a lot of convincing for us to eat there again.

Great homey vibe, friendly service and wonderful home made food. The specials are great. They have daily lunch menu specials and nightly specials (my favorite being Thurs $5 Sangria + 1/2 off appetizers). They have the best mac n cheese in town. A blend of goat cheese, cheddar, and gorgonzola (you can omit the gorgonzola or any other if you'd like, but I recommed the original blend even though I'm not a big gorgonzola fan it's amazing all together). My husband loves the gnocci and sausage. Any of the special roasted vegetable dishes are great. Appetizers are amazing.... beet chips sound healthy but are so good. Thinly sliced like potato chips w/fennel on top. Fries are also the best, truffle fries w/parmesan grated on top. You can also never go wrong with one of the daily home made soups. Desserts are hit or miss; I've had some great flourless cakes or cheesecakes, but also had an average cookie there.

I was back visiting MKE after living there my whole life, and relocating to CA. A good friend of mine suggested this new place. I love to support local start-ups, and the food sounded great. I ordered from the vegetarian menu in the end of Dec, and the waitress recommended the squash ravioli, topped with a sweet maple syrup glaze, and amaretto cookies, with a side of sauteed spinach. All I could think about as I ate the dish are the TV shows Iron Chef, or Chopped, where the chefs are given some ingredients that normally don't go together, but they have to somehow make it work to win. I imagined that I was a judge, and I although it was a very avant garde dinner... IT WORKED! And I love amaretto, so that's a plus :) The prices were very affordable (this would've been a $20 or so dish in LA), and they had MKE beers on tap. It is tucked away in an old Polish neighborhood, housed in an old corner bar. I love anything grassroots, especially when creativity is involved. Kudos to this restaurant! Keep it up.

Fantastic. I've been here several times and its always great. I have had the pork chop which was cooked to perfection with really tasty fritters. Recently I also had the mac and cheese with sausage which was the best mac and cheese I've had in a long time. The beer selection is good with seasonal beers on tap which change regularly. Service is always great. The servers really seemed concerned that you have a great meal and enjoy yourself. Come to Triskele's you won't be disappointed!

Excellent food!, tremendous creativity, excellent service, great value. Definitely a well hidden Gem in the Milwaukee dining scene. I don't know how this place got past me for so long. I was looking in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel at a blog posting on hidden gems in the Milwaukee area and ran across this place. My wife and I went and started with the Buttermilk fried Calamari with flash fried spinach and an amazing though I will echo some shared sentiments that maybe it was a bit heavy on the salt (my only criticism of the place). We followed up and shared a special on the menu of mac and cheese with swiss cheese, Ham and Rosemary. The wife referred to it as a flavor orgasm. The Braised short ribs looked really good but they were gone by the time we got there. There are a number of things we are looking forward to coming back for so I'll edit and update on future visits. Don't let the neighborhood scare you away. We will be going back again and again. Some nice specials all you can eat mussels on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is half price wine by the bottle (nice moderately priced wine list to begin with) The prices were very reasonable and downright cheap for the value of the high quality of the cuisine.

I don't like surprises. I'm a control freak--it's my nature. Triskele's, however, was a pleasant exception to the rule! I was astonished at the flavorful, creative menu offerings from this restaurant. The service was spot on. We were greeted immediately and seated promptly. Water was brought to the table, and our drink orders were taken shortly afterward. The thing that you would expect to work against Triskele's--its small size--actually works in its favor! The place feels comfortable and cozy, without feeling crowded. The waitress told us about the all-you-can-eat mussel special, which really appealed to the two people with whom I was dining that evening. They raved about their dishes. Similarly, I had a delicious soup/salad combination. We also enjoyed an appetizer. The soups are clearly home made, and well, just different--in a good way! I had a soup with a coconut base that was out of this world. The salad with basil and chicken was also a nice change of pace. And FINALLY, a restaurant that doesn't pledge allegiance to the united brands of Kraft. After eating at some many places that served me a ramekin full of Kraft plastic dressing, slices of bland, processed cheese, and bitter lettuce out of a bag, Triskele's was refreshing! What I really like about this place is that they keep their menu offerings simple, and switch it up often. You never know what you're going to find on the menu, but you can rest assured it will be good. I have re-visited this restaurant on several occasions. Initially I'd be disappointed that what I had last time was not on the menu, but then I'd order something new and left thankful for the novel experience. I just have never had an unsatisfying meal here. I've never before told a restaurant that they could actually "raise" their prices-- until now. I recommend Triskele's with absolute confidence, and I'd like to see them stick around.

It's true that I used to work at Triskele's so I will divulge that immediately. However, it is still a place that I frequent for dinner every so often. In fact, I went there for my birthday this year. It's one of those rare places where you can sit at the bar and watch JoLinda Klopp (chef extraordinaire) at work. It's really amazing how she can juggle all those orders at the same time. I love the gluten-free macaroni and cheese with all three cheeses. You can get sausage or grilled chicken in it but I'm a big kid so I stick to the basics. I'm not a fan of mussels but stop by for all you can eat mussels on Tuesdays. I have tried them and the different flavors are pretty cool. Parmesan fries, pork wontons, short ribs, and even the burger are all good choices. (Note: some items are seasonal.) Don't forget the lovely Lynn Winter behind the bar either. There's a nice wine selection at Triskele's. Food is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is casual. Try it. You'll love it.

I really like what they have going on here. I really do. The vibe is cool, you can see the cook cooking from the bar, intimate space, clean bathrooms and good food. But I just left feeling like I wanted more... But I am not sure in what way. The food menu is very limited but that is to be expected in a place that serves seasonal, well thought ou, fresh food. I had their Friday Fish Fry and I thought it was okay. The others at my table were very pleased with their choices (braised ribs, shrimp, Cesar salad). I think I need to try it a few more times to really get a good feel of the place.

First and foremost, I might be biased because I work here..but it tells you something when I come in to eat on my nights off because I enjoy the cooking so much. By far the best mussels(and best deal) in the city. Preparations for all-you-can-eat Tuesdays change weekly, and both menu options are fabulous and well-portioned. Even after serving them all night, I still want a bowl. Too tasty to pass up. Also, the mac and cheese is the BEST in the city. I mean it. And for a whole $5 during happy hour- you can't turn down the best bowl of goat cheese mac. Atmosphere is great- dimly lit, bar seating directly in front of the chef (so you can watch the action happen). As for the service, you can be the judge of that! :)

This place was awesome. We happened upon Triskele's while taking a drive around town. What a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious and my boyfriend, a vegetarian, was happy to find his very own section of vegetarian items on the menu. :) He ordered the mac & cheese, and it was delicious. You can choose from three different cheese or get all of them. I recommend getting all three. The cheeses give the mac & cheese a very sophisticated creamy richness but not so much that you feel nauseated. So good. I visited during the all you can eat Mussels with a choice of Thai Curry or garlic & parsley. I alternated both between dishes and they were great! The flavors were excellent and they gave you just the right amount of broth. I also had their salad with blackberries, goat cheese, oranges and a wine vinaigrette (I forget what it was specifically) and it was so refreshing. I'm picky about my salads because sometimes they can be soggy with dressing, but this one had the perfect balance. The flavors were spot. The menu is small, but I think indecisive people like myself would appreciate it, especially when everything is so tasty. Definitely going back again before I move to the east coast. :)

Our new favorite. ... food and atmosphere remind me of middle of the block restaurants on 9th st in NYC ... only with leg room between the tables. Spot on service, excellent Mac & Cheese (make sure to order it with all three cheeses) Pork won ton - like appetizers... seafood stew, the fish fry... large hamburgers, ...... I had a salad on our first visit, that I don't think is on the menu anymore.... I've never had mussels until I came here (they have an all you can eat night) I've been there many many times now, and haven't had a bad experience. I really could've given it 5 stars, as the only drawback is the smallish menu.... even though I've loved everything I've tried... guess I just want more to love!... ooh, and I love sprecher bottled... gotta love it

OH MY!!! If muscles are your food of choice, you must try Tuesday night All-you-can-eat Muscles at Triskele's. Their Creole Tomato kind was to die for...or close :). And for the price you can't even see a movie these days ($8), you are guaranteed a scrumptious feast. Decor has much to desire, but the atmosphere makes up for it. Friendly staff, and owners always on the lookout. Good to see that kind of commitment to business.

Been back quite a few times since my '09 review. A nice little corner bar in a south side neighborhood. Limited menu but what they do is simply first rate. JoLinda's skills simply get better and better. Not a place to go to if you want a "dining experience," but if you are looking for good quality, expertly and imaginatively prepared foods by one of Milwaukee's best chefs and not have to take a 2nd mortgage on the house, this is your place.

We were really disappointed in the over-salting of our food. We went on a quiet Thursday night, had great martinis and liked the atmosphere, but just wish the food (grilled shrimp and grilled trout) had been better. Might go back for drinks but in mo rush to return for a meal.

Overall a really good experience. The bar is really cool in that you overlook the open kitchen and see the one cook in action. There are lots of beers on tap (check out the blue heron tapper). There is Sprecher root beer on tap! There are lots of good wines. The room has a open, warm, relaxing feel. The service was excellent. We asked where we were to be seated and they said "wherever you want.". We chose a booth which afforded us privacy. There are big tables available as well. Orders were taken promptly, the water glasses never became empty. The server's manner was attentive and gracious. The food overall was excellent. We chose strictly vegetarian entrees, but the menu, in line with the name, has three sections- meat, seafood and vegetarian. We sampled all three appetizers, all superb. White truffle Parmesan fries with parsley mayonnaise, dark stout beer bread with roasted garlic cloves and caramelized shallot butter, and arugula salad with dried cherries, toasted pecans, goat cheese and a balsamic vinaigrette. One main entree was butternut squash ravioli topped with amaretto cookies, Gorgonzola and spinach, which was really good (who would ever dream amaretto cookies would be so good with squash ravioli?). The other entree was sherry braised mushrooms with whiskey glazed parsnips, pearl onions and thyme puff pastry. Both entrees tasted really good, but came to the table less warm than we would have preferred- thus the 4 rather than 5. Desserts were flourless chocolate cake with mint and whipped cream, and a tiramisu. The tiramisu was served in a martini glass and was juicier and had a stronger alcohol taste than most I have experienced. Overall, this is an awesome place to which I will definitely return. A very comfortable, relaxed feel with really caring staff at every level. Highly recommend.

I seem to be on some sort of a roll when it comes to finding restaurants that immediately force me to edit my top 10 list. Triskele's was immediately placed near the top of that list. For starters, I ordered the Grilled Summer Sausage and Cheese Curds, which were outstanding. Anyone who has something on their menu that causes the diner to say "How did I not think of this? It seems so obvious!" already has to be doing something right. For dinner I had the Hanger Steak, which was served with goat cheese au gratin potatoes. The steak was wonderful, but the potatoes blew me away and are probably the craving haunting my dreams right now. I will certainly be back regularly.

Based on a single experience there last Tuesday for the mussel special, I loved this place. For $8, you get about a dozen good-sized (not the New Zealand green-lipped variety, ugh) shellfish in either a good, if a bit under-seasoned poblano cream sauce or a shallot-Champagne broth. Also comes with a basket of Sciortino's Italian sesame-seed crust bread. LOVED the salad: greens with shaved fennel, radishes in a pepita-orange vinaigrette. The small ($5) was enough to share for a starter. We got the Parmesan truffle fries as well - it seemed like kind of a small portion for $8, but they were rich and any more would have been kind of dumb. Plus, cans of PBR for $2.50 in case the slightly pricey wine list (no bottles under $20) were appreciated. The decor is ramshackle - rummage sale framed mirrors and flat brown paint on all the woodwork - could use some lightening up. I also though it was weird that there wasn't a swinging door into the kitchen - just a regular door with a doorknob that the servers had to open & close with their hands while holding a tray of food. Our server was great, though, and the owners were happy to have us there. Will be back for the burger & specials.

On a one-night adventure to Milwaukee, a bartender at Bryant's suggested my friend and I try Triskele's for dinner. Ravenous and a bit tipsy from the amazing cocktails at Bryant's, we head to Triskele's and went nuts over the menu ... it may be fair to say our expectations were low and/or compromised by the cocktails, so take this review for what it is worth. But we were so very, very pleased with our food! We started with the truffle Parmesan fries and there were great (the bottle of wine we ordered, eh ... but we could've sent it back). We shared the beer-braised short ribs (amazing), the roasted brussel sprouts and cauliflower with brown butter and almonds (HEAVEN) and the buttermilk calamari. The food was incredibly delicious and satisfying ... I'd love to go back and try it again!

Tasty menu, went with vegetarian friend and she loved the options. Friendly staff. Delicious food! Mac and cheese rocks, so do salads. Quite a clandestine place for meetings of the powerful. Last time I was there I saw some on air news folks eating. The time before, I saw a US Senator. Quaint, a little off the beaten track, but worth it!

I have been to Triskele's on several occasions, and I've always left happy. This is a place we come for dinner or just appetizers and a drink. Bryan the bartender has always been friendly and makes a great brandy old fashion sweet. The menu changes frequently and there is always something new to try when ever we come in. Some of our favorites include the burger topped with goat cheese, braised short ribs, macaroni & cheese, mussels, and the Cajun frog legs.

I came here a few weeks back with colleagues as part of a celebration dinner, and was pleasantly surprised by the food options/range. The service, however, was indifferent. I had the pork special that night, and while the outside was nicely crisped with its apricot glaze, the pork itself was a little tough. The portions we received were decent-sized, though nobody took home left-overs, and we'd all had some of their various appetizers, as well as dessert to go with it. Options include vegetarian choices and some creative, gourmet cooking. My husband joined us for a quick meal before we headed off to another engagement, and he enjoyed his meal enough that we came home and ordered coupons from restaurants.com to enjoy a return visit.

We came on Tues for all you can eat mussels. The place is small and dimly lit, staff is very welcoming. There is a great selection of beers and wines and they carry Sprecher. There were so many things on the menu to try, but we stuck with the mussels ( white wine and garlic or roasted poblano and cream sauces). They were fantastic. Perfectly cooked, tender and meaty. Both sauces were good, however, the poblano cream was outstanding, can't go wrong with cream and butter. We also tried the truffle fries with parmesan and a tarragon ( I think???) mayo. Very good. The food was excellent, but after studying the menu, most items seemed to be on the richer side. Service was great, our server was very friendly. So excited to come bck and try more!

it's a pretty simple place but the food is really good. ordered the shrimp and mussel stew which was 90% mussels but they were fresh and tasty. i would have liked a little more shrimp. the dish also had some incredible dumplings...very nice touch. we also shared a parmesan truffle oil french fries that were to die for! the pumpkin old fashioned i had - which could have been a big mistake, was actually a very balanced and tasty drink. it was only 8 bucks and the regular G&T is just 5! i'd go back.
