I was skeptical at first when I saw the reviews here but am glad I decided to risk it. This is a good Italian beef shop that I would come to again. The food was good and hot. I liked that I could eat my beef sausage combo without needing a fork. The sausage could have been of the hotter variety but o suppose they are catering to the masses. The only thing I didn't appreciate about the sandwich is that the extras are all extra. I got mine with mozzarella and giardiniera and it cost 0.60 extra. I know it isn't much but I feel nickeled and dimed. My daughter got the corndog. Turns out this is the only dog on the place that isn't beef; it is 100% turkey. I don't really care and neither did she. Might be worth mentioning somewhere. Service was RUSHED. There was a curt, "for here or to go" for each patron. It was the lunch rush, buy I felt I was ordering from the Soup Nazi. As the rush slowed down, the personality went up. I just think it isn't hard to maintain a pleasant demeanor.

I really hate this place. Against my better judgement my co wanted to go here for the work lunch. We had a large order of 10 people so it was getting out of control this time and it was my job to make sure everyone's order was correct and nothing missing. The pressure was on for me. I tried to phone in the order and I asked the woman if she would put a name on each order so I know who gets what and see if anything is missing. The was very hard for the moron woman to do and she says she can put it all in a large box, how the hell am I going to know by looking at a big pile of food if anything is missing. Screw it I will place every individual order at the counter when I get there and waste my time. So I walk in and start placing the orders and moron woman stops me to say that I could have phoned it in and I told her that you said that you can't put names on the orders. Once again she says she can write what the item is and put it all in one big box and I tell her how can I tell if it's all there by looking at a pile of food. Again she says she can put it all in a box and I said your not listening to me, I can't tell by looking at a big pile of food if everyone's items are there. She then states that she does it all the time and they never make mistakes, hello fast food is where we learn to check the bag before we leave and make sure it's all there. She was really a lazy stupid fast food worker and I explained to my co workers we will never go there for lunch again. Yes I went through all the bags to make sure everyone's order was correct so there was no surprises, I'm the one who hears it when something is screwed up.

3.5 Stars Longtime Sammy's fan here! It's a bit of a Sunday tradition. On Sunday's, Sammy's has a half price dog deal, so if you do decide to come on Sunday, either come early, or come prepared to either squish together/eat outside. Other reviews mention anti-obama decorations. They are absent at the new location. I did not notice a difference in the taste of the food with these gone. Parking is better than the old location, but at the cost of seating. Employees are generally rather pleasant. It may seem sketchy to some people, but Sammy's is a place that you don't visit for the atmosphere. Don't let the appearance throw you off. Fries are excellent, crisp; hot dogs are good. Buns seem to be hit or miss. Shakes are decent, but pricey, although they do come with a yummy wafer cookie! Bottom line: if you are looking for a fancy, full-service hot dog joint, you'll probably need to open your own. If you're looking for a great deal on lunch, and don't mind a relatively short wait, give Sammy's a try.

This review based upon meatball sandwich I had, it was smaller with 4 small meatballs which probably were not home made but price was good at $3.50. Sauce was ok, all in all spend the extra dollar and go to Scottie's pizzeria. The taste is worth it.

Employees are sketchy, but the food is pretty good. You have to pay extra for peppers, cheese, etc on your sandwiches. But go to their website for coupons.

The Italian beef sandwiches are excellent here, and I highly suggest adding on the gardinera and peppers. The Chicago dogs here are also really really good. Fries are big enough for two. The new location is a lot cleaner feeling than the old location, but it's still slightly divey. However, for great food and cheap prices, it's a good find.

Not going back. Most disgusting place I have ever been. There is flies everywhere! I even saw a spider while waiting for my food. I ordered a Chicago dog and it was okay. But seriously the people who work there look sketchy. I won't go back there.

That stinks that all the old reviews are gone, so I will step up and add one in here. For Chicago style dogs and beef, this place is where it's at. No frills, just good food and reasonably priced. I drive to 'Stallis just for this.

Sammys has by far the best hotdogs in Wisconsin! Been stopping by his restaurants for over 20 years! He takes pride in what he sells and it shows! After being a customer of his I worked for him over twenty years ago and saw first hand the pride and real passion he had then and now for this business! I have a ton of admiration for him and what he does in business and as a father! Always talking about how proud he is of his boys! My kids love it here too! Can't wait to go back again soon!!! Thanks Sammy!
