I stopped in at Nick's House during the 2015 Shamrock Shuffle. This place was jumping!!! It's 1970's themed and well done. The upstairs "attic" is a nice hangout spot. There is a bar and a decent amount of seating around the bar, tv, and fireplace area. Even though it was rather busy during my visit, the bartenders were attentive and efficient. It was my first visit to the newly renovated Y-Not III, and I enjoyed my time but not an "OMG it's my new favorite place" kind of visit. It is a nice place to visit if you are looking for a new spot to hang out on the weekend.

I never had the chance to go to this place when it was y-not 3, but wish I could've had the chance to compare. My girlfriend and I went after a concert and it was quite dead about an hour before bar close. The atmosphere though was quite chill and felt like a great place for after dinner drinks or to converse with friends. In not sure if this is the right area for this type of bar, but it could be a good place to take a date to get some drinks and get to know each other. The only problem I noticed, the men's room was trashed. There was no door handle, and the toilet paper roll holder was torn off the wall. I hope the ladies room wasn't the same. If they got the bathroom fixed, I probably give it more stars.

This dive bar has a great beer selection promoting both local brews and imports. The lights in the bar were track lights but 3 of the newer lights added are antique style. The bar was not too packed so service was personal. Popcorn machine in the back. And plenty of Velvet art on the walls. Ranging from Dogs playing poker. A tribute to bad art. To an homage to William Schattner. Yes, I know what you are thinking.. They are screwed to the walls so don't even think about it!

The Y-Not III is A-OK. I feel ashamed to say that I haven't yet even been upstairs. It's like I'm a bad Milwaukeean or something. Everyone seems to love it, and I'm sure I would too... if I ever get the chance to get up there. Cheap draaanks, nice people, sometimes DJs or bands, and kitschy stuff on the walls make this place rad without pretense. Good location, chill spot, 'nuff said.

Easy vibe Friendly staff Bar game-friendly Special place in my heart for the YN3, because I learned how to play bar dice here. A veritable rite of passage, says me. The patrons were nice, the barkeep was helpful, the darts were fun, the selection was solid, and it was easy to lose a couple hours here on Kenilworth. Upstairs was closed for a private event, sadly, but we had plenty of fun on the main floor. I really liked the laid-back atmosphere here. Also, our pack later met some other people we met at this bar twice more later in the evening elsewhere - fine proof that great livers drink alike. I ask you three times - Y Not?

The velvet paintings are really cool, but the service kinda sucks sometimes.

A "dive" bar in the best sense of the word. Unpretentious and friendly this neighborhood joint was one of my favorite haunts when I lived on the East Side. The liter mugs are a tremendous value, and ask Nick to give you a tour of all the velvet paintings. Can't go wrong with the Y-Not!

Ah, the Y-not III. With this one they must have said "oh, Y the F Not." The downstairs is decent, but the upstairs is one of my favorite spots in milwaukee. It's got a great northwoods lodgy-type feel. However, the bartenders here usually suck. With less than 15-20 customers upstairs, I can't count how many times I've had to wait for the bartender to even acknowledge my existence. Plus, on more than one occasion, the bartenders upstairs have had to go downstairs to swipe my credit card, leaving me annoyed and impatient. I'm not even sure they have a credit card machine upstairs, which would be a mind boggling business plan.

This Place is Great!! What other bar can you go to on a Sunday Night that offers $4 Liters of ANY TAP BEER...It's Awesome. The bartenders and owner are Super Nice!!

$4 liter mugs of Blatz. Dude. The Lil' Nort' Woods loft upstairs is where you go to see bands play and you eat popcorn and drink a lot of those mugs and check the TVs for the Sports Game Score and then bike drunkingly home after a pretty fun evening.

For the first time in my life I heard a DJ play Ice Cube and follow it with Conway Twitty (had to backspace and add the 'w' force of habbit). David the bartender was really cool. After some lighthearted profanities about my beloved Columbus, he taught me the sport of bar dice. Great crowd. Great deal on a liter mug of brew. I will be back here !!!

I don't go out to the bars a lot...But when I do somehow every time I end up here. The Owner Nick is a great guy and if you get to know him he might take a shot of VO with you or possible take you upstairs to see the Music venue/other bar. Plus you cant go wrong with $6 LITERS of Hacker-Pschorr.

This place is a hole, but it's a very fun little hole. The bartender on the second floor kicks ass even though I can't remember his damn name. The bands are too loud and the PA sucks, but it's a fun place to see or play a show. Drinks are pretty cheap and it doesn't smell funny after the smoking ban - unlike most similar bars in Chicago!

All the bartenders are so nice, and I say that without even working there. Popcorn, a velvet portrait of William Shatner, a easily rent-able, diversely booked awesome upstairs party room (work parties, urban comedians, local bondage meet-&-greets), and cheap liters of tap beer keep all non-categorized East Siders coming back again & again. Oh, am I here again?

Went over here the other day after running out of beer at home, and being newish to Wisconsin, I still forget you can't buy at the store after 9 pm. Had a few PBR's which at $2.00 a can is decent, but not outstanding for a special. Had a classic dive atmosphere (high dust concentration, etc.) which I like, so I'd have to give it a 3. If I wander back in there on a weekend when it's busier, maybe it'll be worth an upgrade to a 4.

There's a velvet Captain Kirk hanging on the wall downstairs. "Sometimes the fluffy bunny of incredulity zooms around the bend so rapidly that the greyhound of language is left, agog, in the starting cage." David Mitchell

I've only been here a handful of times (maybe 5 in my 7 years of living in Milwaukee) both when it was the YNot III and now. It's a great little dive bar, very townie with a devoted crew of regulars. Lately when I go it's on Sunday when they have $4 liters of tap beer (my spouse gets Newcastle and I tend to get whatever is new but the house draft is probably my favorite). The bartenders are always nice, but it's definitely a place that appears to be more fun if you are a regular. I know there was some hullabaloo about it being on one of those rescue shows, but not having been a consistent patron, I'm not entirely sure what changed. I just know I love having it as an option in my neighborhood.

We wanted to love this place before we went in, but we just didn't feel very welcome. Drinks are the same price as everywhere else.

Nick's House is a dive bar and that's what you get when you go there. And there's nothing wrong with that! However I had terrible service here last time, the bartender ignored me and then overcharged me. Also for having just been redecorated the atmosphere is a bit dingy.
