OK, so here is the deal. I just moved to Milwaukee (literally just, merely weeks ago) and I have now been to Mo's about 5 times. I really wish I could give them a better rating, I REALLY do. Their food is fantastic, they have Strongbow on tap, etc. It should be love! But, their bartenders are TERRIBLE. I've bartended before, this is not a biased review. I sat for 10 minutes at the bar with an empty glass in front of me and the blonde bartender took my glass, put it in the wash rack, and NEVER even asked if I wanted another drink! I sat for a good 10 minutes longer before I could scream loud enough to get her attention. Their bartenders literally IGNORE the customers. Then, when you finally get their attention they give you the "hold on, I'm way too busy to take your drink because I'm talking to my fellow bartenders" finger and come back 5 minutes later. It is the worst service I have ever had at a bar. As much as I love this bar, I have never in my life been more tempted to not leave a tip (but I can't because I was in the service industry for years), I really, really want to love Mo's, but the tasty food and beer cannot make up for the fact that their bartenders are rude and inattentive.

Awesome place to grab a beer/drink, good music, and entertainment. The Mo's Reuben Boxty (Mo's very own slow-cooked corned Beef, Sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing gently tucked into a seasoned Potato Pancake and covered with a creamy Cheese sauce) is so delicious. I was in Milwaukee five days went to Mo's three times and ate the Reuben Boxty twice. One night they had these Irish dancers doing a sort of river dance, it was pretty neat. Did I say the Reuben Boxty was amazing, well it is. If you are ever in Milwaukee definitely go to Mo's Irish Pub and try the REUBEN BOXTY.

I have to go against the grain here... I think Mo's is pimp status! Like most "Irish bars" the food is not much more than pub food.. however, I enjoyed the food very much! The best thing about Mo's is the live music. I enjoy the music every time I go! You will enjoy Mo's!

the whole mo-titled restaurant thing is totally amusing. MO-cha, MO-ceans...apparently nothing irish-sounding starts with an O or MO. can't wait for the MOngolian restaurant. as for the place itself, who drinks downtown anyway?

Who is this Mo person? Well it took us a while to find a place to eat on a Friday for lunch. After much searching we found Mo's. After a prompt seating you will find your traditional diner/Irish pub food. So 3 lunch specials everyone was satisfied and we made our flight.

A little pompous for an "Irish Pub" When I went in with a decent button up shirt (untucked) and jeans, I was given a "Can I help you?" from the greeter that sounded more like a "What are YOU doing here?". So, lets just say the service was somewhat lacking for myself. The steaks had a good texture, but the spices tasted of burnt pepper, tasted like it was cooked an a dirty surface. Their saving grace is a nice array of stout draft beers, which they serve quite well. If you are looking for a place to lean back and relax, this isn't the place. I was surrounded by people in suits, and a wait staff that thought that I should have one on too. Pass this up unless you are a little more prim and proper.

stopped in for a drink on our way back to the hotel from Irish Fest. typical Irish bar/pub/restaurant. there's pretty much a place like this every other block in Chicago, so nothing special for me. there was an irish musical group playing in the back section of the bar and plenty of televisions showing espn/brewers. the fried calamari i had wasn't all that special, compared to what i've had at other places. on my next visit to Milwaukee, i'm sure i will end up here at some point.

I was really not all that impressed with this place. I have been here twice and the service was not that great. Both times the place was "I can barely breathe because there are so many people here" busy. We were unable to stand it and had to leave after a drink, maybe two if we were lucky. I heard the food here is halfway decent but I have never been able to try any of it yet. I will have to go in an off-peak hour.

Five of us stopped in before a Bucks vs Bulls playoffs game. We heard from several friends that this was a good place. Our waitress was enthusiastic and helpful to us out of towners, even though we were cheering for the other team. Appetizers were good (chips & guac along with fried pickles.) We all ordered different things but would recommend their mac & cheese and buffalo chicken salad/sandwich. Alcohol selection is exactly what you would expect at an Irish pub, awesome. They have some cute, punny shirts for sale and upscale restaurant across the street. They have a shuttle to sporting events every ten minutes, but when we finished our meal we waited fifteen minutes and it never came to pick us up. We weren't too happy about this, and made the treck to the stadium by foot.

Observations while avoiding sniffly show goers that didn't wear proper clothing waiting in The Riverside line: Much nicer to get a drink here. Need to update beer list more often. Music not overly loud. Good management of TVs. Soup is surprisingly not overly salty. Huge socioeconomic diversity compared to the other sides of the rivers. (Bulls fans?) Cell service is inconsistent when at inner side of bar rail. Staff always tries to be cheery and helpful, but doesn't always succeed. (Bulls fans?) Men's bathroom smells fine. Men's bathroom needs a makeover, starting with the barely a trickle faucet. Quiet pricey beer, yet you may get a free one if you're not a Bulls fan. It truly was a good soup, with great oyster crackers (bag was whisked away before I thought to check name).

Been sitting here for 15 minutes. No servers have talked with me once. Service is really slow. They keep walking by , no acknowledgement.. Couple more minutes and I'm outta here!

Had a server a few weeks ago named Ashley, she was phenomenal! Was on top of our needs and made sure everything came out right. We will be back for sure for more and for happy hour

There were fruit flies having a great time hanging out with the bottles of booze behind the bar and my friend's drink had a fly in it. This place could use some TLC

Went day before yesterday during bead & button show w/ my friend Ann. We couldn't decide between burger with mountain of crispy fried onions and grilled 3 cheese sandwich with tomato and avocado and cup of tomato soup. So server suggested cut burger in half and we could each have half of everything! It was so yummy!!! Good service too. And good ambiance!!

This was a four star experience, but I have no choice but to take back a star for the poorly poured "Black and Tan". You see, the bartender is supposed to use a spoon to prevent the Guinness on the bottom from mixing with the Harp (or in this case, Smithwick's). The proper method is that the two beers are layered in the glass. Instead, I got a mix and the flavor was all wrong. Boo. See youtu.be/qLwmwt81NjM I opted to skip the appetizer and went straight to the main. And since this is an Irish pub (though with too many TVs so that it was more of a sports bar), the choices were Shepherd's Pie or Corned Beef & Cabbage or something traditional like that. I chose the Corned Beef, which arrived ten minutes later piping hot and steaming. Boiled cabbage, steamed carrots, perfectly boiled potatoes and a big piled of thin sliced corned beef that was neither too lean nor too fatty. A small pot of horseradish sauce as well, though I found it bland. A bit of mustard took care of that. I cleaned the plate and instead of another poor Black & Tan, I went with a Harp draft. It was excellent. So really, four stars and maybe I'll come back and sit at the bar so I can show the guy (or gal) how it's done.

Best tomato soup & grilled cheese!!! I'm serious..... You have to try it. Cool atmosphere too.

Mo's is a big, commercial Irish bar. It's got fun decor and it looks like it serves a mean black & tan (though I did not have one myself). The beer list is diverse, with a slight Irish theme but generally something for everyone. I appreciated very much that the glassware changed depending on the beer you ordered. Always appreciate getting a beer in a proper glass for that type of beer, or in a glass specific to the brewery that brewed your drink. Food-wise I would call it typical bar fare. Nothing extraordinary but it will get the job done if you want something to nosh on. It seemed like the type of place that is usually crowded and generally a bit on the noisy side. Good for a stop in for a beer and an app but maybe not for a romantic dinner. Just my impression anyway from a quick visit.

$7.00 for a Guinness? Only go here if you're a Cubs' fan. My office is still across the street and we've decided that we're finding somewhere else to go for happy hour. Johnny must be saving up to do the improvements that are about to start.

  • Rohan D.

The food is okay, it's not really all that Irish, the beer selection is good, and the ambiance is good pseudo-Irish. All the times I've been here, service has been competent, prompt, which is important because all the times I've been here, it's been before a show. The best thing about this place is the location, I don't know that I would ever come here if it weren't a very short walk to the Pabst, or the Riverside. It's pretty loud here, so it's not really the place for leisurely dining and long conversation. There's no bike rack nearby, so that's a problem for me sometimes.

  • Jonathan K.

I really hated NOTHING about my time here. My girlfriend and I popped in. We were greeted promptly. We asked for a drink list. Didn't get one. Who cares?! Lisa asked us what we liked, and we got just that. And some swell conversation. Dani was also lovely. She gave us some tastes of local brews as well as great tips on places to hit on our journey through Milwaukee. Damn good time. Ten stars.

Stopped in for a couple of drinks. Very friendly people. They know how to make a good mixed drink. The place has a lot of character. Atmosphere is very relaxing. Good taste in music to. I could see us coming back for good night.

Descriptive phrase: Americanized-Irish pub. I got dragged to Mo's Irish Pub in Westown after a rousing night at a brewery nearby. We wanted to grab some food and a nightcap. On a Thursday night, why not? Mo's was much more crowded than I expected. Some people were watching football at the large central bar, some older couples trying to eat, and some just drinking the night away. We took a seat at a high-top table. Service was slow because of the crowd but otherwise okay. I was disappointed with the tap beer selection, but it'd probably be okay for the average person. I ordered the Cheeseburger Shalaylee ($9) for myself. Out came an extremely odd dish. Think ground beef and cheese, wrapped in a tortilla and deep fried. I ate it because I was so hungry, but I wouldn't recommend it for discerning patrons. If it weren't for the BBQ sauce for dipping it would've been near-inedible. You could taste the age on the beef, it had to have been cooked that morning and sitting in a tin. I wouldn't judge their entire menu based on this one dish; try something else. However, my overall impression was of a place that offers me nothing to return to. Oh, and don't expect to have a conversation; the music is turned to 20.

We have eaten at this restaurant around four times so far, given that we recently moved to Milwaukee, less than 2wks ago. However each time the food and the service is just over the top impressive. Very warm and friendly waitresses, outstanding meals. Mo's will definitely be on our list of favorites.

Nice place! It was very busy on a Saturday night, but they have plenty of room so it didn't take long at all to find a seat at the bar for a drink and an appetizer. (Note: time was approximately 8:30pm on a summer evening.) The bar staff was friendly and pretty good. I would've preferred to have only one or two of the staff helping us. We'd have one bartender check on us and bring us something and we'd tell them that someone else had already brought it. Then someone would forget something for us (napkin and silverware), we'd tell the staff member we thought was in charge of us, and someone else would bring it. It was fine, we got the service, it just lacked any personal touch at all. Ordered the Dublin Sampler Platter. Heaven and a heart attack on a plate! Yum! Great, great food! I've gotta get back here again for a complete meal. Just may have to do an extra round at the gym afterwards! :-)

Worst service ever. We asked the bus boy who brought us our food for water and he responded with "I'm not your waiter". The ceiling also has paint falling from it. It might be okay just for drinks

Nice place to stop and sit for lunch along Milwaukee's downtown Wisconsin Avenue. Standard fare with an Irish twist and attentive service throughout, augmented nicely their very tasty offerings. The calamari appetizer was crispy delectable and light as air. Perfect place for lunch when you want to "feed the beast".

Whenever we head to a show at The Rep, we struggle with where to eat dinner nearby. This time we headed for Mo's hoping for something a bit better than Rock Bottom. The downtown locale is always an interesting mix of folks - when we walked in, the hostess told us she hoped we liked Reggae, since they were having a theme night. In an Irish Bar. There was a wait for a table and we had to make the play, so we chose two bar seats. Nearby was a long table of 20+ guys dressed for wrestling in various costumes. One day I'll suck it up and try the boxty, but once again I could not resist the lure of the grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was hearty, delicious and perfect to warm me up for our walk back to the theater. We also shared their cheese fries - that cheddar sauce is divine - I'll go back just to have those again. We had to ask for plates and utensils and refills and the bartender was a little flighty, but overall it was a filling meal, we were content when we finished and we made the play in time - there's probably not much more I could ask for.

The upstairs party room is not good. We have a party of 20 and it takes forever to get drinks. All the drinks have ZERO alcohol in them and still cost the price of your first born... The bar is good down stairs but DO NOT through a party here!

Great place. It's an average bar but the service was great and the food was better. We're not talking about filet mignons here but for bar food it was fantastic!! Get the chicken fingers no matter what, never order chicken fingers but they looked good and man am I glad! They are special! Fun joint, highly recommend checking it out.

Ate here during "Downtown Dining Week" so only had a few menu options at the time. I usually try to stay away from Italian food at non-Italian restaurants but gave the baked lasagna a chance and was pleasantly surprised. It came with a great caesar salad. For dessert, I had the massive, warm, gooey, ice cream-topped chocolate chip cookie... AMAZING! Save room for dessert!

After wandering around Milwaukee having no idea where we were going on Friday evening, the boyfriend and I FINALLY spotted an open bar - Mo's. I really liked the interior which felt cozy with the big wooden bar and bookshelves. We were sat at a very odd table that normally is for 5 people (there were only two of us) which lead to us both sitting on the same side to even be remotely close to each other. Boyfriend got a chicken sandwich (Santa Fe?) and I got the pub burger with white cheddar. Portions were large and I really enjoyed my juicy burger. BF got some kind of cheese sauce for his fries which he promptly set on the side of the table opposite me so only he could hoard the cheesy goodness. The service is where the 2 star rating comes in. Dinner service was spotty with waiter forgetting my boyfriend asking for a water a couple times. While the food came out quickly, our glasses were empty for a while before the water noticed. After we closed out, a band started to play and were really good. We decided to stay for a bit, and the boyfriend went to the bar to grab a couple more drinks. The bartender greeted him "hey how are you?" ... boyfriend said "good, can I get -" . . . and that is as far as he got since the bartender walked away while he was in the middle of ordering to talk to somebody else and didn't come back. Needless to say, we didn't stay for the band after all.

Was up in Milwaukee with a friend on a last minute road trip. We stopped in here to get out of the weather while trying to find another place that a local had suggested. The beer was cold, first bartender had a lousy attitude but things improved. We saw a band was setting up so we decided to hang out for a bit. We ordered food which was ok. I had a turkey sandwich on cranberry and sunflower bread. Tasty but not as much as I had hoped. My friend had the meatloaf which was nothing noteworthy. This place seems to draw the college crowd. When the band did finally start playing around. 9:30 it wasn't Irish music. Matt was our bartender after the one with attitude moved on. He couldn't have been any nicer and attentive. Once he left though the service went back to bad. Not sure I would go out of my way to go here again with so many other choices around.

Had dinner and drinks here twice while in town for business. First visit and meal was good, second was downright AWESOME. Hold up one sec though -- the garlic cheese fries that others have raved about? Good, but I wouldn't make the trip just for the fries. Had the Reuben boxty on the first visit. It was pretty good, came out of the kitchen very hot on the inside so be careful! And, rather larger than expected. Way too much to eat, especially with the fries, and a salad. The Mo's Burger? Now THAT alone is worth making the trip for. It is good piled on top of great. Pattie was just the right amount of greasy, and very tasty on its own, but when combined with corned beef and other toppings, it became an orgy of beef, cheese and bacon on my tongue, with a couple of innocent vegetables horrified to be thrown in the mix. I would happily have suffered a burger-induced heart attack right where I sat on my stool, mid-bite. I think the staff must be hired for their hotness. There was a musician playing on my second visit, decent cover song skills, good crowd. No cover charge that I was aware of. Definitely located conveniently in the middle of downtown, near several hotels including the Hampton I often stay at. Great for travelers. Great for groups.

Only take people to this place that you DO NOT want to have a conversation with. The music was way too loud for this type of establishment. Louder than the loudest music I've ever heard in any dance club. My ears were ringing when I left, it was absolutely impossible to communicate with the friends at my table. We messaged each other all night on our cell phones. Music aside, the food was alright, the service was good, and the beer was nice.

Friday before a half marathon, where else would you find me?! Stooled up at a local Irish bar of course! Came up to the Milweezey on Friday to relax a little before my half marathon on Saturday and had to stop in at one of my favorite places. I used to come in here all the time, being that I worked right down the street. Nothing has changed, great atmosphere, great staff and amazing food!! It sure made me miss WI, being in a bar at 12:00pm on a Friday and being able to order a Spotted Cow....curse you Chicago for not having Spotted Cow on tap! It really was nice being back, made me miss it oh so much! Keep up the good work Mo's!!! :)

Overall decent food experience downtown Milwaukee. The grilled cheese avocado sandwich is fantastic. Good fries. Decent clam chowder. Decent fish fry. I was really in the mood for clam chowder and potato pancakes. We searched long and hard for a restaurant that does not put bacon in their chowder (a food trend that is really grinding my gears). We also wanted potato pancakes. We called ahead and were informed that they don't do regular potato pancakes but do make them for a specific turkey dish and would be willing to make one for me. The pancake was more like a thick crepe or blintz and was not great on it's own, but I do give props to Mos for being willing to make this accommodation for me. The clam chowder was pretty good, but fell a little short on clams and was too heavy on potatoes. I also ordered a root beer themed cocktail that was delicious. Boyfriend got the Mo-garita, which was not very good. Finally, it is way way too loud in this place. When the band started, we had to pack up at go, the noise was so loud my body started to vibrate violently (this is not a joke, and it is pretty weird to see).

Great location nearby Riverside Theatre led us here before a show. Decent food (good, not great) and solid drink. Close to authentic Irish pub feel, but not quite as tremendous as it could be. I'd consider coming back in the future but wouldn't make it a point to recommend to others.

We stopped in for drinks before a show, did not eat. Service was average, manager was friendly. The band (did not catch name) sounded good and did a tasty rendition of 'going to california' (Led Zep) I was surprised to find out that happy hour ended at 6pm. Happy hour apparently runs from 3-6pm. That seems like anti-happy hour to me. There are some drink specials offered on top, just may not be your choice of poison. The other thing that was not advertised by the bartender but instead by a poster on the wall was that they offer pro football game specials. The beer selection is to be expected, the usual Irish staples and combos to be had. Cheapest beer on the menu, american domestic $3.75. The higher beers ran $8-9.

Worst service I have had in a long time. We called because we heard they had great soup. Waiting 45 minutes for our salad and another 15 for soup which was like eating a salt lick. Horrid experience. The waitress was more worried about Rolling her silverware than our quick dinner.

I was in Milwaukee last night and had dinner here with my coworkers. Mo's Irish is quite a good pub. It's around the corner from downtown Hampton Inn where we stayed at. Awesome Happy Hour! They have great drink specials and $5 appetizers which are big enough to share with friends or have as your own meal. I ordered the Spinach Tapenade which I shared with my crew and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich (minus the bacon) paired with Roasted Tomato Soup. It was very good. There's quite a few Gluten-Free and Vegetarian items at this pub for those on a special diet. Next time, I'm going to try their Veggie Burger and Cheese Sauce & Chips. They look pretty darn good. Definitely worth a look if you're searching for a decent pub in downtown Milwaukee, as I am often known to do. .

Crazy busy on a Saturday night, the food is OK but is generally disappointing for the relatively high cost. They do deliver to the nearby hotels but the delivery service isn't very good -- they left an entire entree out of our order and had to come back a 2nd time to deliver that after we noticed it was missing. It's not a good value. If you don't care and just want to get smashed in a noisy bar this will be right up your alley. If you're looking for good irish pub fare that's not mediocre quality and overpriced, keep looking elsewhere.

Last but not least or should I say least of the last. First visit, hammered early 20 somethings had taken over the bar. You had it all, fake dumb girls and douche bags galore. People were spilling drinks on each other, girls taking about how they just threw up all over the bathroom. It was worse then some college bars I know. Bartenders were dicks, but I'm assuming it was because of the crowd. It was loud as hell, even the band was getting drowned out. Second chance, I guess the trick is to go early and leave before kids get in. Families and a few others our age hanging out. Service was better but nothing amazing. Waitress all looked dirty. No really, like they haven't gone to bed from the night before and didn't shower when they came in (of course not all of them but more then a handful). As for the food... Do you like fat on a plate? I mean fried food, this is the place to go. This girl across from us, she put down a whole plate of nachos. It was enough for 4 people!! This was one of those things like I'm shocked but I can't look away. Maybe this is a better place for lunch?? I don't know what else to say...

St. Patrick's day festivities! We made our way to Mo's Downtown on St. Pat's and the downstairs was incredibly crowded (no surprise there!). So we headed upstairs after spotting a sign on the staircase that said there were 2 bars upstairs. We quickly found 2 seats at one of the upstairs bars even though there were plenty of people up there too, I guess we just got lucky! We sat up there for a few hours, and enjoyed some DELICIOUS chicken strips, before making our way outside to enjoy some sunshine. When we went back in we decided to hang out downstairs by the live music, which was changing every 90 minutes or so, and all the musicians were great. (Ryan McIntyre was my favorite) :) 2 thumbs up for Mo's on St. Patrick's day!

I'm about as fond of Johnny V establishments as I am of strip clubs and the bubonic plague, but I have to hand it to Mo's Irish Pub...it is a well-run restaurant. The food isn't great, but it is better than most chains. The service is attentive and professional. The drinks are not overpriced. You can do much, much worse.

Went here with the other half and our bestie for a weekend getaway. We were very hungry and since Mo's was literally next to our hotel, we decided to check it out. Somewhat of a big mistake. For starters, the speed of service was incredibly slow. We arrived and were seated, and it took a server close to fifteen minutes to acknowledge us and offer drinks. Keep in mind that the restaurant was NOT PACKED. Then, no silverware was given, no napkins, and when we requested said items the server proceeded to take additional orders before assisting us. The final straw was when my other half ordered food and didn't receive it until well after our friend and I received our food. By then I asked for a manager. The manager was nice, and even comped our entire meal (plus gave us a $25 gift card) for the inconvenience. My other half got his food, we ate and left. On the flipside, the food is very good and filling. Just wish the service was better.

Does a review count when the service was so bad you left before even ordering? I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday while visiting Milwaukee. It wasn't busy at all and the hostess wasn't at the desk. The "table for one" in front of me got a decent enough table. Me? I got sticky table, right by the waitress station. Why do hostesses habitually do that to "table for one?" As it turned out though, I got a bird's eye view that told me I should find somewhere else for lunch. My server came and introduced herself and I asked for a cider. There was a Special advertised on the door and I mentioned it to her. She looked at me like I had three heads--and not Guinness heads. She said she would go check. Servers are generally supposed to be aware of Specials, No? She disappeared quickly; I assumed to check with the bartender so I figured she would be right back. A few minutes later, she walked right by my table. She stopped and chatted with her co-workers at the station. Then she walked right past my table again. Then she brought menus with a side of titter and flirt to the two guys right by me. I'm not sure but usually isn't that the hostesses job--the menu part, not the titter and flirt thing? Still no "I checked on that cider and...". She walked by me again. I heard her chatting and giggling with another co-worker. Then she started toward and I thought "Oh good, I can order now." Nope. She walked right by me and proceeded to carry a tray of table trash away from the station--a busboy's job perhaps? To me, it's always disgusting to see a waitress cleaning; she is supposed to serve your food. I picked up my stuff and left. On the way out, the hostess told me to "Have a great day." How can you not notice the person you just seated is leaving? I told her "I will, after I eat somewhere else." There are probably a dozen Irish pub-style restaurants in Milwaukee. When the cuisine is so prevalent in an area, the only way to distinguish your place is with service. Mo's doesn't get that at all.

There are few certainties in life. One is death. Two is taxes. Three is that the Sconnies know how to properly fry food. Case in point are the garlic cheese fries. Perfectly crisp taters fried to peak crunchiness and absolutely smothered in cheese sauce and garlic. What's not to like?

I had high hopes for this place... I've been there for drinks and had a decent experience, but dinner - wow, that's another story. Seated quickly on a Saturday night at 7:30pm. Music blaring, with an annoying announcer screaming "happy birthdays" to about 10 different people in the bar. That's fine; it's a pub, afterall, but there were maybe 30 people in the place... the music level was set ridiculously high given the amount of people in the place (and I love loud concerts - Helmet, Tool, NIN, etc). Waitress took about 10-15 minutes to swing by. She took our drink orders and came back about 10 minutes later with the beverages. Placed our food orders: reuben, two tomato soups, and the tenderloin plate (double veggies, no potatoes, please). Requested tenderloin medium rare. Soup came out - the verdict: disappointing. Tasted like canned pizza sauce. Contrary to the description, it lacked "roasted tomato" flavor. No hints of basil, either. Drinks sat empty; waitress could be seen carrying garbage from the restaurant, down the sidewalk, to dumpsters. Really? Entrees arrived after about 20 minutes. Reuben looked good and received decent reviews. Tenderloin was missing veggies and had extra potatoes. Whoops. Cut into tenderloin - I've seen shoe leather that was more moist. It was seriously a hockey puck. Waitress came by after 10+ minutes or so and said, "Oh, you wanted vegetables, right?" Yep. She returned with a side of veggies. I commented about the steak and she said that "the kitchen usually over cooks all of the steaks." Wow. $20 for a burned piece of "tenderloin" (I have a feeling their steak comes from a vacuum-wrapped/frozen vessel), and mushy veggies with a double-order of the wrong side item. Don't think we'll be back, ever. Our tab for two people was over $50. That's not right based on how generally crummy the food was. I weep for the residents of Milwaukee if you believe this to be good food... Mo's = FAIL Food = 1.5 stars (ick) Service = 2 stars (inattentive, wrong orders, no real fixes) Value = 1 star (waaaay over-priced - $6 for a Guiness??) MISC = 2 stars (great sound system, but far too loud) Summary: Go elsewhere.

The man and I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday...during the Bears and Packers games, respectively....wearing our Bears jerseys. =) We attracted a couple stares, but thankfully nothing was thrown at us. Phew! ;-) The beer selection- not bad, not bad! I was impressed by some of the selection. The wait staff- helpful, overly talkative, but informative and knowledgeable of the menu. The food- yum, yum, yum!! The chicken fingers were delicious and homemade! The BBQ sauce was something different, yet fairly similar to an oniony cocktail sauce. The Reuben shelaylee was good, my boyfriend enjoyed it very much! I'd come here again, definitely. I'm curious how popular of a bar it gets at night on a Friday or Saturday...

We stopped here on two occasions.. Crowded on weekends. Food is excellent.. Young and old crowd.. Guinness on tap. Martinis were weak. Service was very good even with a crowd.

Better for drinks and live music. This review is for the dining experience. I've been to this Mo's (and the other "Irish Pub" that is nearer to my office in Wauwatosa) in the past, and enjoyed a pint and the traditional Celtic band they employed that evening. Had the misfortune of dining at the downtown Mo's Irish Pub for a business lunch today, and this was a sad reminder of how the cloak of night is a forgiving mistress: tables were wiped down half-assed, with bits of nasty food and stickiness everywhere. Let me repeat: stickiness EVERYWHERE. the menus were filthy, my drinking glass had grubby fingerprints and the whole pub just looked tired, worn out, and in need of both a remodel and a REALLY good scrubbing. The staff was friendly, but half-asleep. Food was decent, but considering the state of the front of the house, we stuck to "safe" items: fish and chips and a chicken sandwich. Hard to mess up. This location may just be appropriate for those with thick beer goggles on, and the Tosa location for lunch, as it is much cleaner and well-presented. Won't be returning to the downtown Mo's due to my number 1 rule: If they don't care enough to clean the FRONT OF THE HOUSE (or restrooms)...then what are they doing behind closed doors where the customers can't see?! Food for thought...

Good food... like the Reuben boxty. Can't beat some good ole Irish beer! Service little slow, but it was really busy on a Saturday night. Parking downtown sucks!!! (Just an after thought there.) Thumbs up for Mo's.

We were lucky enough to get here for happy hour totally unplanned. LOVED... LOVED this place. The service was great, the people friendly. We had draft beer nice and chilled with clean glasses!!! The app's were awesome. They were grilled wraps with pastrami in it. Did not like the topping cheese wiz I think but the wrap was so good. We also got the cheeseburger wraps and chicken fingers all of them were $5.00 the happy hour price. What a find.

It is what it is, I guess. Chatty bartenders who focus on big groups rather than pairs or individuals, even if it's just to talk to them and they're not pouring drinks. A menu that has adequate pub food, prepared adequately, delivered by adequate servers. A beer selection that's priced higher than standard (I know, rent is high down here) and doesn't have the variety of pubs with half the notoriety. It was okay. Just that. I wouldn't avoid the place, but I don't see a ton of reason to run towards it. Maybe a leisurely stroll if it's on the way?

Best place to hang out and have a pint of Guiness in the downtown area. 3 cheese dip was amazing, and the shepherd's pie was delicious.

  • Erik R.

We've been to the other location a few times and really enjoyed it. Not so much at this one. The server was exceptionally nice, but everything was very slow. A bottle of beer shouldn't take 10 minutes when all you need to do is open it and set it on the table. Our food was delivered close to room temp, and two of the four got the wrong drinks the first time around. We got charged wrong, which they fixed promptly and apologized for. But there were far too many problems in one trip. Had this been our first visit to any mo's, we probably wouldn't be stopping again. But since we know that the Brookfield/Wauwatosa location is excellent, well just take the extra drive next time.

So disappointed. My boyfriend and were staying in downtown Milwaukee for a Saturday night Cubs-Brewers game. I heard there's a free shuttle from Mo's to the park. Super awesome! I guess there's a "one drink minimum". Well we tried to get a drink. The place was packed, which is fine, but it was impossible to get a drink. I couldn't even sandwich my way between people. Fine whatever, so we hopped on the shuttle anyways. Tipped the driver. It's still super convenient. Game ends. We couldn't find the shuttle. Fine maybe it's our fault we weren't listening closely enough. Walked aimlessly in the cold and got a cab. That's okay. I take full responsibility for this. We get back to our hotel which is a block away from the bar. We wanted to have a few more drinks, so we go back to Mo's. It's still insanely crowded, except they moved some of the booths away from the bar, allowing for more people to access the bar. Cool. Except there appeared to be only 2 bartenders on staff and one of them was struggling mightily with figuring out the register/closing someone's tab/who knows. The girl who's spot I took at the bar left and said "Good luck" because she couldn't get served. I stood there for far too long & couldn't get a drink. Based on the one bartender struggling to even figure out how to bill someone, we made the decision to leave. The bar was crowded, but it shouldn't have been an issue if it was staffed properly. Why this is disappointing: This place has this brilliant scheme where they give me a free shuttle ride to the park and I spend a ton of my money there on drinks. Sounds great doesn't it? Yet I gave them two opportunities to make money off of me and they couldn't even take advantage of it. I get that the place was crowded, but wouldn't it make sense to put more people on staff the weekend of a Cubs-Brewers game? Seems simple enough, but I guess not.

Stood at the front desk and was never greeted for 5 minutes.. I even had a server walk right past me twice.. I walked right out.. It's a shame because I was really wanting to try this place out.

Good food and drinks, but VERY LOUD at night!! Their New Year's party is pretty awesome, but crazy!!!! A lot of very intoxicated people there every weekend!! The bartenders should sense when people had enough...but that's how they make their mullah!!!

I had Fried Calamari and Corned Beef. They weren't bad. Calamari was crispy. Corned beef and the veggies were seasoned, but the presentation of the dish wasn't that great. I think there are better restaurants.

To the fine Megan's of Mo's... You are truly first class! Our first stop, our first bar, and two most beautiful and most helpful Megan's. Came to Milwaukee for a girls weekend and our hotel was right around the corner from Mo's. The staff is wonderful, fast, and super helpful (with where to go in Milwaukee, what to see/eat/etc). Clean bar. Wonderful service. Great prices. Good appetizers. ~We did come here 3 times in 2 days, and only had one so/so experience, one of the bar tenders kinda forgot that we were there sitting at the bar... No biggie, the Megan's made up for the extra star~

This place is average. Nothing really stands out about it. The food is okay and if you're looking for some Irish beers then this is the place to go. It is pub food, but not pub food done well, just pub food. No one in our group raved about anything and we all like to talk about food. We tried the burgers, the shepherds pie and the appetizer sampler. One of our orders was completely wrong and the waitress didn't want to seem to take it back to fix it. Instead she brought out what missing, but left the burger with cheese on it, when the burger was order with no cheese and the person who ordered it doesn't like cheese. Nothing was horrible but nothing made left us wanting more and wondering when we were coming back. I think the best part was everyone's beer. Nothing will blow you about this place, but if you happen to be in the area and want some pub food with a cold beer or a martini and you aren't sure where to go then this would be an option for you.

Place was packed but held a great atmosphere. The food was great and service was awesome. I had the french dip and the lady had a Jameson burger. Both were excellent and perfectly portioned. The waitress came to our table to ensure quality frequently. Drinks could have been stronger being "doubles" but overall a great Irish pub. Would definitely recommend to anyone

Meh... That is about all I can say about Mo's... We met my brother at Mo's during his layover and it was disappointing. The service and decor is great but the food was so-so. I went with the Fish/Chips which were a bit on the dry side. Not sure how that happens but they were over cooked. Not bad enough to send back but just not that great. My brother had the Shepard's Pie... Again... Just did not seem right. My wife cannot recall what she had which says a lot. It is not on the banned list so we will give it another shot some day. Hopefully, it was just an off night for Team Mo.

Did you know they have really good food? Try the garlic cheese fries. They are wedges, sprinkled with fresh garlic and they are meant to be dunked in the cup of jalapeno laced cheese sauce. They really do pair well with a draft beer of any kind. Yes, I am an authority on perfect garlic cheese fry pairings. The buffalo chicken wrap is tasty, but the fish and chips always knocks my socks off. I love the slaw, it is more vinegary and less creamy. This particular location has the most beautiful wood work and feels like a true Irish pub.

The service wasn't that great and the food was ok. It took the server's a while to wait on us and the bar was not busy. Plus there were plenty of servers. We ordered a couple appetizers and they were just ok.

Probably the worst pint of Guinness I have ever been served. The first bartender obviously had no clue how to pour Guinness, I saw another bartender trying to show other staff members the correct way to pour it so I asked him to top mine up as it was given to me with a 2 inch head. He tried to convince me that it's supposed to be that way. When I finally tasted what was put in front of me it was not good. The Guinness was watery and lacking flavor, the head was slightly foamy and also thin instead of being creamy and thick. I am from Ireland and I was also a bartender in a Irish Pub in London for 3 years. Reps from Guinness used to come in and make sure we were pouring correctly and they would also check the temperature to ensure we were serving to the best standards. What was served at Mo's was simply disgusting. My wife and I took two sips and left the beers on the bar and left. No establishment that claims to be an "Irish" bar should fail so miserably at serving Guinness. I will never go back to Mo's again.

I have not eaten here in a long time. I was here the last two Saturdays to check out the bar. Once was for King Soloman and the other was a stop in, and it was singles night. The bartenders were all friendly, and most were very quick to get us fresh drinks. The drinks were fairly expensive, and the pours were pretty weak. I was charged for a few drinks I did not buy, and the bartender was really cool with getting this corrected. It could have been becuase I threatned not to tip, but who knows. I really have nothing bad to say, but there are a lot of places like this to get drinks, so I don't think I can give it much more than 3-stars.

Nothing terribly original here, just a great Irish-American Pub with a friendly staff, great food & excellent entertainment! Visited twice while in town. We were bummed out by our visits to other bars and was just about to call it a night... enter Mo's! We caught "The Orphans"- Great Band! And got to chat with our bartender, Tina. The place was packed and crazy. Great times. The crowd was fun and most important... Douche Bag-Free!

  • Ashley S.

Live music on a Saturday is always a plus and the band that they had was fantastic. The bar was not overly crowded and we were able to find a table as soon as we walked in. The staff was fast and efficient. The cheesy garlic fries were a perfect late night snack.

Always had a good time here...except that they have three of my fake ids. But this is actually a good place to eat. I usually got the buffalo chicken wrap and it was always awesome. The bartenders and servers were always pretty good, and they usually had about 3 or 4 bartenders on weekends which made it pretty easy to get a beer even when it was packed. They have fun events...I remember they had one of those bull riding machines for a while. I have also seen some of Milwaukee's finest athletes at this bar. Effing Ben Sheets. That dbag. All in all, its a pretty cool bar and has some pretty good food. -Also, I'd like to mention one of the reviews below about the fish n chips....who the hell orders fish in Milwaukee and expects it to be awesome. Order a burger man.

Gets three stars bc the atmosphere is nice and drinks are reasonably priced and I really enjoy the food... That is when I can get them. Gina is the slowest bartender I have EVER seen and she is never behind the bar. Literally 16 minutes from when I sat down did I finally get to have my food order in.

  • Nancy R.

I have eaten at Mo's three or four times, but apparently haven't checked in. Shame on me... Anyway, I really enjoy the atmosphere at Mo's. The food is OK, the beer is great! It is a fantastic place to have a party as they have an large room upstairs that you can reserve for free. There is a separate bar up there so you have your own bartender. You can pre-order appetizers for your party, or folks can order off the menu. Sweet!

Holy Hell, do I want to give this place 5 stars on their grilled cheese alone. But I ain't gonna! 1. No hostess station so we sat ourselves...only to watch another table get seated...and handed menus....and be served their drinks...(yes this could have been our bad). 2. Grilled cheese and tomato soup = omg potential. MINUS: the grilled cheese was on the verge of cold! The soup was hot...and by golly I want my grilled cheese still bubbling from the grill. But adding bacon, tomatoes, and avocado ....drool worthy. 3. Their specials on the table tent didn't match those in the actual menu. Get. Cho. Shit. Together. That's all. Little more effort next time please!

Would give it 0 out of 5 if possible which is very unfortunate since this used to be our go to spot in Milwaukee. We arrived late last Wednesday night for a beer and some appetizers before heading home for the night. The place was quite busy as Summerfest had been going on and we understood there would be a wait. I asked the hostess if we could still get food and she said something along the lines of "I guess, but we don't have any tables open so you should get it to go." Minus the attitude, we understood as we both used to bartend and know that late night customers can be a hastle (still an hour until the kitchen closed). We eventually were able to grab a spot at the bar and grabbed a menu so we could order ASAP. It was pretty obvious the bartender didnt want to put in a food order as we sat for almost 20 minutes with our menu and made eye contact numerous times before taking our order. Again, gave the benefit of the doubt due to it being busy. We then started a tab with a card and specifically told the bartender we would pay w cash at the end. We ordered food to go and had a couple drinks while we waited. After we got our food we closed our tab and paid with cash and went home. Just realized that not only did we pay with cash, but our card also got charged. We called the manager and he said our card got ran but there was no signature (what you do if someone forgets their card). Now we are out double the cash since we can't dispute a cash purchase without a receipt. I've never kept a cash bar receipt before as I have never had anything this cold and dishonest happen before. Pretty bummed out as this used to be a pretty fun spot. In the end, over $100 for a few beers, three appetizers, and horrible service.

Great location. Went around 5PM and there was ample seating. Two vegetarian sandwiches which was wonderful. The veggie patty was homemade which goes says good thing about an establishment. Both vegetarian dishes were wonderful, very filling, and $9. Atmosphere was wonderful, every TV had a different channel. Was referred there because they provide room service to Hampton Inn hotel on the same block. Very good.

We went there in September 2013 after hearing they had a shuttle to the Brewers game. Excellent chicken tenders ($5) special with fries ($2.50). Free shuttle to the game (tip accepted). Easy to fine after the game. Highly recommended especially if you're downtown and want to get to Miller Park!

Friendly staff, nice patio. Only had the chips and cheese-NOT enough cheese and very spicy salsa. Had half a plate of plane chips left. Variety of bloody marys, $5 on Sunday-very good! BUT only got the bloody Mary because they were out of spotted cow-very disappointing as had been combing the city for new glarus. Would give it another shot for an actual meal. Provide shuttle for brewers games (with to-go bevs it looked like).

When I go to Mo's I don't think much of the atmosphere when I walk in the door but not much long after entering, the place turns out to be one of the most fun, enjoyable experiences. The staff is great, friendly, and the service is very good. It's impossible to have a bad time at Mo's. The drinks are reasonable, the food is really good. The reuben is one of the best ever found around town.

Went here for dinner with a colleague. What was awesome: Atmosphere, drink selection (Strongbow on tap!), grilled cheese and roasted tomato soup, live music What was not awesome: Service - our waitress was a bit on the cold side and not personable at all. If the service had been better I could see myself giving this place 5 stars.

My lady and I went there recently and really enjoyed ourselves. This was our first stop on our first trip to Milwaukee and we were pleasantly surprised. We originally just wanted to get a beer or 5 before we went to the Brewers game, and were super stoked when a bus pulled up to take us to the game. Brilliant! Combined with the girl they had outside with beer taps and a bottle of jameson, made this a pretty cool pregame spot. We didn't eat the food though, so that might have changed our opinion, but we liked it, so there you go.

Fish sticks. Yep. Thats what we were served when we ordered the fish and chips. Just like you'd give to a 3 year old.... If I were touting myself as the "best" steak place in Milwaukee, right across the damn street, I'd sure as hell make sure that the food at my "pub" was at least decent. Which it really, is not. I doubt that I'll be back. Like ever. The upside was that Pat McCurdy was playing and the beer was cold.

I love irish pubs! when they don't OVERDUE the irishness. It makes sense..you know..way too many nicknacks that are all clearly bought off Ebay.. And this place to me is a great representation of a good irish pub. (in the US anyways) Cool vibe and good crowd and great service. Get yourself a Guinness and mingle to your hearts content. If your bar hopping.. start here then gradually make your way to the smaller dirtier places haha

Probably great for drinking but the food was just ok. Super sweet waitress. Buffalo chicken wrap better in concept than real life....too saucy. My friend had the tomato soup/fancy grilled cheese and loved it.

First, the service was great. No problems at all. My waitress and server were very attentive and friendly. Since Mo's is an Irish pub, I figured I would get some great greasy fish and chips. Well they weren't so great. Not bad, but not great. The chocolate chip cookie pie with ice cream was good. BUT, not as delicious as the one at Malnati's here in Chicago. Mo's is definitely a good place if you want to watch sports, as they have flat screens placed throughout the pub, which was good cuz it was Sunday (FOOTBALL)! Yeah baby! I was a little disappointed that the crowd wasn't very diverse. C'est la vie. Nonetheless, its a nice place to catch a quick snack and watch the game, before you head back to the windy city brrrr. Plus the taxes are dynamite!! I actually had some extra dough to give the waitress!

My cousin took me here for a "snack" and a frosty bevvie. First of all, I forgot that just because Illinois is smoke free, doesn't mean that our neighbors Up North have followed suit. Thankfully the non-smoking section was separated enough so that I could enjoy my meal. That brings me to the food... We ordered a sampler platter of appetizers and the garlic cheese fries. Since I was in the Dairy State, I had high expectations for the garlic cheese fries. Sadly, there weren't cheesy or garlicy enough. On the sampler platter, the chicken quesadillas were ok. Nothing special. The spinach artichoke dip was bland. They had something they called a "shalaylee" which looked like hamburger meat in an eggroll wrapper. That actually tasted ok, but hardly a good reason for a repeat visit. The server was attentive and friendly, which is probably the nicest thing I can say about this place.

Nothing special, but the food was good. Our lemonade was the most watered down drink I've ever had, and it really felt like we were inconveniencing the server when we asked for new ones. It does have the cheesy Irish theme going, but whatever. Once we got decent drinks and our food, it was a good meal. Especially the fries. Oh man, they were piping hot and delicious.

Large & cavernous like the spaces between drunken Irishmen's missing teeth... this bar keeps going & going. There were multiple bars and levels. It felt like they did this on purpose to confuse me drunken merry self. The upstairs served me an expired and skunked bottle of Leine... how dare thee!? They replaced it pronto. The bartender seemed to just stop bartending and started taking shots with my tablemates, like, "hey here's a tray of shots," then started shooting them, one after another, over and over. I don't take shots much any more but this was definitely entertaining. Downstairs they had a live band and dancing on stage that broadcast my dance moves on the TV -- that was kinda embarrassing... I don't condone this... but they didn't mind us playing flip cup with stella glasses. I mean... a couple broke and they kept serving us. I'm just saying... that was the best game of flip cup I've ever seen. Far and away there were more antics than Kidman & Cruise could ever imagine... or that I can remember... I do know that Mo's is a warm, charming and loving venue for folks 'round the globe to come together and slosh around a bit.

I could begin and end this review with the word "Boxty" and walk away satisfied. I'll simply say- try it. It's fantastic. With that said, the downtown Mo's has been a favorite haunt of mine when I'm drawn north for meetings or, in past years, St. Paddy's Day. The menu will please both the traditionalist and "Irish-gourmet-for-a-day" alike. Wonderful destination for a Sunday brunch with the family or to hear live music and hit the sauce with friends. I stopped in with a friend a week or two ago and can attest that the bartenders still know how to pull a pint properly. Good stuff.

We have ended up at the Mo's on State Street several times in the past waiting to get in shows at the Riverside, this is the only reason we have come here, we will find another place the next time. The place always looks (and smells) dirty! And always so busy it is hard to find a place to sit. I got and "Irish" coffee... The worst I think I ever have had! You would think an Irish pub would know how to make a good Irish coffee. sorry, we won't be back till you take some time to at least try and be Irish!

Bartender was more concerned with doing free shots with her friends rather than taking car of paying customers. Once we were seated it took 15 minutes for a server to come to the table. Another 10 minutes for drinks. Never received silverware or napkins. We weren't the only table having these issues. 3 stars for the food. Zero stars for the service. Will not be returning. I understand it was busy on a Saturday night but this was unacceptable.

Loved the sampler beers, perfect size for a late lunch. Had the bbq chicken wrapped in the potato pancake/crepe. Delicious. There is a genius in or controlling that kitchen. Keep up the good work. Mo's did a great job of hosting the NGAUS on Sunday night back in September. I didn't even go for the cheap pitchers, I loved the ale i had a couple of days before.

I went to Mo's last night for before a 10pm show at the Riverside theater for dinner and drinks. We got to Mo's at 7:50 was told there would be a 20 minute wait. No problem. went to the ordered some drinks in waited. Waited about 35 minutes to be seated. No big deal I was hungry but they were somewhat busy. Waiter came pretty quick so I ordered the garlic fries as an appetizer and then looked over the menu's some more. He came back after another 5 minutes or so and we placed our orders my wife orders a pub burger and I order the mo's burger. I asked for the Ceaser salad instead of fries since we already had the appetizer for fries. I was expecting the appetizer to come before our burgers, alas i was mistaken. Another guy dropped off our food and quickly left, The appetizer came at the same time as the burgers, I then noticed they forgot my salad. Our waiter came by after about 2 minutes and noticed right away, it took another 6 or 7 minutes to get the salad. So I had my burger and noticed that it had blue cheese on it. I didn't remember if the Mo's burger was suppose to have blue cheese on it but it tasted it very good. As I was halfway through the burger the girl that had waited on us at the bar shows up with another burger asked who ordered the Mo's burger I said I did but we already had our food. She then explained they had given me a cheeseburger instead of the mo's burger. The Mo's burger had more stuff on it. Ok so she swaps them out. At this point I'm pretty disturbed at the lousy service. The didn't bring the appetizer out before our meal, they forgot my salad and to top it off they brought me the wrong burger. I tried the mo's burger it was ok but the 1st burger they brought me was much better. Actually I still think they brought the wrong burger. The description of the Mo's burger says it has corn beef on it. Now that I think of it it didn't have any corn beef on it. To top it off when the waiter came around I had to let him know they had come out with a different burger, no one had told him. He did take it off our check and because of that I didn't ask to talk to the manager. The food was pretty good the garlic fries with cheese were excellent but the service was horrible. One mistake I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, 2 ok but 3 mistakes is aweful. I only gave Mo's 2 stars instead of 1 because the waiter took the charge for the burger and salad off the bill.

This is hands down one of the best Irish pubs I've been to. I don't even live close to this restaurant but there are many times when I wish it were. It's been a couple years since I've been here but when some friends took me here we had a really great time. The service was very good, and the food was excellent. There was a band playing which as I recall was some very good music. It had a good ambiance in the place. Appetizers we started of with we're excellent it was a sampler that really had a nice variety to it. And of course what meal isn't complete without a few pints of guiness to wash everything down. It is definitely a must go place if your in the mood for a good time.

Ideal location in the downtown area. It's a pretty large restaurant/bar with an upstairs and private dining rooms. While I didn't eat, I can't review the food. But I did notice they have a Gluten-Free menu. It just hits all their regular menu items which are considered gluten-free. I did drink, and I can say they have awesome drinks for an okay price (ranging from $6.50-8.50). The happy hour deal looks even better (prices ranging from $2.50-5.00). I'm so glad they had Lady Guinness on the menu, Guinness with a shot of Chambord. The only way I truly enjoy a Guinness :). They also have great martinis: Finnegan's Wake (Vanilla Vodka, Baileys & Godiva Chocolate Liqueur) and the Shamrock Martini (Baileys Mint, Creme De Cocao & Green Creme De Menthe) were my fav's. As odd as the Irish Float sounds (Captain Morgan, Baileys and Root Beer) it was almost too good. My drinking companion downed it in no time flat.

This is another one of my Milwaukee stops for a great burger that combines three of my favorite things--good cold beer, good food, and an Irish Pub atmosphere. It is located downtown and within walking distance of most the hotels. The wait staff is great and the place is very spacious, although it can get a little crowded during the "happy hour". The building is a "street-view" style, where you can watch the activity of downtown Milwuakee through the large picture windows that stretch from one end of the building to the other. While I only frequent Mo's when I am in town, it seems this is one of the in-places to go in Milwuakee and that they always are having some type of event over the weekends.

Friends and I came in here, and were seated quickly. Waitress was good, but could have been more attentive when our food came. I had the burger, and thought it was fantastic. My two friends ordered Rubens, and they liked them too. All of us were drinking Spotted Cow, Guinness, and Strongbow. MMMMMMM The thing that bothered us was the music. John Mayer like for TWO hours. Over and over and over....ahhhhhh! Also, staff didn't seem to be on the floor at all. One of the managers sat at the bar, but the hostesses and waitresses seem to be hiding.

I had no complaints. Our waitress was attentive. The band that was playing was nice background music. The drinks were normal and not bad. It was a nice place to relax and hang out with friends and I'm surprised that there weren't more people there on a late Saturday night. It was easy to walk to from our hotel and from two of my friends' apartments. Street parking was readily available for those who needed to drive. I would return if somebody wanted to go back.

Well the food was good. I started off at re bar I got my beverage and that was that. I ended up getting a table because the bartenders were terrible. Overall the food was good and bad service. We went Mo's on a Friday night. They are located right downtown and at 7:30 we didn't have to wait for a table. The place is huge! Our service was great. I had the Triple Grilled Cheese served with Tomato Soup. It was so good. They top the sandwhich with applewood smoked bacon, avacado and tomato. Jeff had the Boxty. It was very flavorful. They could drizzle a little of that sauce on the Grilled Cheese and have a home run. We also had Bailey Cheesecake paired with a Leinenkugal BerryWeiss. I'll certainly do that again! Food is great, service is great but what is even better is the Music! This place plays really good music. Far better than the typical top 40 stuff you often get. We found ourselves constantly saying, '"good song, " all night long. If you are staying at the Hilton it is a short walk and well worth it.

A regular stop for my co-workers at lunch. We make it a few times a month. They recently changed the menu and removed my favorite item, so while that didn't make me happy, it still has so many other irish pub food options for the tastebuds. Staff is usually great and service is above average. They can get slammed at times for downtown events and get caught off-guard but that is not the norm. Oh, and my kids love the cookie dessert!

We stayed right across the street at the Residence Inn, and they provided room service for our hotel. The food was great and we both really enjoyed it! We started with the Chicken quesadillas, which we really liked. Then we each had a sandwich. I loved the ruben! Definitely in my top 5. My boyfriend had the burger and really enjoyed his as well. We finished it off with a Mo's cookie. The cookie was delicious and warm, but I could have done without the ice cream, it was pretty flavorless. We'll definitely be back to this hotel and we'll definitely order from Mo's again! We also stopped into the bar for a drink on our last night there, and overall it was a pretty nice experience. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Brought out some clients for lunch. Had a southwest salad (I believe it was called). It was fantastic and had a bunch of great stuff on it. Clients had a buffalo chicken wrap and a sandwich. They loved it too. Food came out very quickly, very reasonably priced. Great for lunch. And I could see it being a great place to go out with a group for food and drink

This is a really great bar. They have good food and good service. Mo's earns it's 5 stars from its free shuttle to Miller Park for Brewers games. This is much easier and much faster than dealing with stadium traffic. I can't wait for next season!

Went here for drinks one late night. The place was pretty busy, but we were served very quickly, that was good. Problem was, I HAD TO YELL LIKE THIS THE ENTIRE TIME TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE PERSON SITTING ONE FOOT AWAY FROM ME. Turn down the volume on that sound system Mo. Someone could be getting murdered in the corner, screaming for dear life, and no one would hear a thing. After about two beers we left for somewhere else.

Mo's Irish pub not the place to go to watch badgers, packers games! I went to Mo's twice this past season when staying in Milwaukee and both occasions I had to ask the staff to not only put the games TV but to put the live sound on it. On both occasions I was greeted by the staff with reluctance, I got the feeling that they were there to listen to music while doing their shift. There was some Neanderthal looking bouncer guy working there on the occasion of a badger football game that started at an 11am I wanted to order a breakfast and watch the game and he said I could order breakfast and put the sound on the game if I filled out a survey and tried a local craft beer. I would not recommend this place to go watch a packer or badger game; I think the staff is more interested in listening to their favorite music!

Simply awful. Lousy atmosphere and food. Not impressed by the Irish imported decor and staff, its just another TGI Fridays with an "Irish" theme. And as far as not having many options living in Milwaukee, that is complete and utter bullshit. There is more to this town than Water Street!

Fun place, good music, free shuttle to the Brewers game. It is my opinion that they water down the liquor, so stick with beer. Had 5 shots in under 30 minutes and had absolutely no effect. Two friends had 5 mixed drinks in 30 minutes, they had no effect either.

Holy crap, people smoke in bars still? I stumbled to Mo's one night from a tour of downtown, or Old World, Milwaukee. I don't know much about this town, but I know that there are lady bugs on buildings and drinks are cheap. One of my favorite beers is Guinness, and of course I had to stop at the local Irish Pub for some boozin--and I did. This place ain't half bad. I was alone and wandering aimlessly, but I was able to make friends. It's a great small town bar... and coming from a big town, I really can appreciate the feel of this place. Kudos!

I enjoy this pub. It is as Irish as an American pub trying to be Irish can get. The wood bar, wood floors, and great Irish beer on tap gives it a bit of an Irish feel. The food is pretty good and servers are always nice.

We wanted to take a shuttle to the Brewer Game. We found out that Mo's was the place for this. We each had a Sierra Nevada and then got in the van. The driver was great. If staying anywhere near Mo's and going to a Brewer Game, I would suggest catching the shuttle. Its free, but those drivers do deserve a tip for getting your drunk self there safe and back again.

I gave this place a 2nd chance after my last bad experience with the salmon meal. This time I ordered the Corned Beef & Cabbage, figuring I'd go with an Irish meal. I was really disappointed. The corned beef was just slices that you'd put on a sandwich and although the menu said it was "slow cooked" & "tender", it was extremely tough & fatty, & I had a hard time cutting it with a knife because it was rubbery. My conclusion is that Mo's is best to go for beers with your friends & maybe order an appetizer (if that's any good). I won't be going back, unless it's for a beer.

I go to Mo's ALL THE TIME. I work next door and a good friend lives across the street, so we're there at least once a week, whether it be for drinks, food or both. Mo's has awesome food! I've never had anything I didn't like or didn't think was quality food and I've tried at least half of the menu. My favorite meal by far is the grilled cheese with fire roasted tomato soup; that soup is my favorite! As far as I'm concerned, Mo's is a staple. One of the things I love about Mo's is how they label their TVs on game days so you immediately know which TV to focus on for your team. I am also a HUGE fan of the shuttle services they offer: every Brewers game and all festivals! I can't tell you how many times I've taken their shuttle to a baseball game and Summerfest. The drivers are always nice and being able to take your drink on the shuttle is awesome! There are only two things about Mo's that sometimes bother me: service & music level. The service is almost always good, but about every 10th time I come it's questionable. I think that some of the newer staff members may not know how to handle the ups & downs the pub has on a daily basis and they haven't completely gotten used to this area of downtown and how to predict when they're going to get hit hard. I will say that I've never had horrible service, but on the other hand, I've never had exceptional service, which I would have expected at least a few times in all the times I've been to Mo's. At least they're consistent. The only other thing that sometimes bothers me about Mo's is the really loud music. I get it when there's a band or it's a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, but I'm of the opinion that really loud music is not needed any other time. You go to a bar to sit, drink and chat with friends, not to yell when they're standing right next to you. I remember being at Mo's on a Saturday afternoon (~ 4 pm) with my husband to watch some college basketball game in winter when the place wasn't really busy. They would play really loud music during the commercials, and then completely turn the music off during the game. Really? Why not just have music playing at a medium-low level AND have the game on at the same time? I think this can also depend on who's working and in charge of the music level. I'm pretty positive the manager was not there on this particular day. Overall, I'm a huge fan of Mo's and recommend it to everyone.

This is the best bar food that I have ever had. As I was walking by the tables everything looked so good. I had the chicken quesadillas and they were awsome. The red sauce was really tangy and full of flavor. I also had the corned beef. It was top notch. And the horsey sauce was the very light and flavorful. I useally don't like anything on the meat, but this stuff made it much better. This is a great college bar. The drinks are plentiful and the staff is Johnny on the spot. I just wish this place was a little closer to Chicago.

I was staying at the Marriott and noted this was their only room service available. We had the chip and four cheese dip (great, but a bit stingy on the dip), Reuben shalaylee (reuben egg rolls that were awesome), crispy buffalo chicken sandwich (soggy with limp fries, not bad tasting though), and cheesecake (tiny portion). Overall, I'm not disappointed, as it hit the spot at a reasonable price. I would order again.

This is a 3 star bar not during baseball season, but I was there during baseball season. 4th star for the free shuttle bus to the game! The talapia wrap was fantastic and the beers were priced as they should be. Sat outside on a nice Saturday before the game. Definitely an enjoyable location.

I like Mo's Irish Pub for great beer and great food. I've been here on a number of occasions including a rehearsal dinner in a private room. I'm a huge fan of their chicken fingers and Guinness beer; makes for a great combination.

went there a couple of times in August/Sept. good place for a burger, i probably prefer the Miller time burger from Hilton City Center, however it was nice being able to sit outside on a warm day, gulping beer and watching the construction workers work so so so so slowly, and simply people watching Jill is a great server that's why i gave her a fat tip, sometimes to make a person happy while you're happy icing on the cake was later I found out eating there earned me some miles too :-)

We all make mistakes and I used Mo's free shuttle buss to Miller Park to get the ball game once. Coming back was a little bit different than getting there. After waiting for over an hour for a ride back and being told after numerous phone calls that my ride would be there in 5 minutes I was a little disappointed. Like I said we all make mistakes but after getting a cab ride back that I was reimbursed on I had a good time. They had some good music and the server take good care of us. There was always something going on and it was very full. The drinks are fairly priced for a bar being in the city and I may go back if I'm in Milwaukee again.

Standard bar food with a suggestion of Irishness. Not impressed with the food, but, they do have Strongbow on tap! Mmmmm Cider.
