My girlfriend and I first went here a few weeks ago. We've since been back. Both times the food was good. The place was clean. Prices are very affordable. It is a unique establishment and the best family restaurant close to my house. I plan on frequenting here. John, writing reviews based on an experience 3 years ago is not acceptable to me. You should try it again. Everything was quite clean when I've been there.

This place is OK if you are too lazy to make yourself a good breakfast..

I just wonder if this place "Michael's" has cleaned up its act? We last ate there about three years ago. We used to go there at least two times a month. I really enjoyed the home made soups. We would even buy extra to take home, it was that good. Last time we were there, during the course of the meal something caught the corner of my eye. The first time I ignored it. The second time I saw a gray rodent scurrying along what would be the south wall along the row of booths heading westbound. The rodent stopped at the last booth in the south west corner and lept up into the bottom of the seat cushion in that corner booth. I lost my desire to finish my soup. I heard a small discussion in the booth behind us. An elderly lady who had been sitting at that booth with the same vantage point as myself approached me. Her eyes were as big as saucers, "did you see what I saw" she exclaimed. I assured her she was not seeing things, Lol! A young lady (part of the wait staff) approached us and we told her what happened. From the muted reaction I believe they knew about the problem already. Upon departing we got the skunk eye from the cashier when we paid as the word must have spread behind the scenes. We have never been back since.

I don't know how you beat this place for value - food's great, prices are crazy low - portions are ample - service is fast and friendly - atmosphere is pleasant - it's a winner

The waitress and staff here were friendly and the food came out quickly and was very delicious. We loved the food, the atmosphere and price. It is definitley a great place to go for a good meal if you're on a tight budget like we are (newlyweds).

Went here for breakfast again. Fast service and friendly people. I had the three eggs sunny side up, hash browns, real ham and toast. Every thing was great and for $5.60 out the door how can you go wrong, see my picture. For the price of a fast food garbage breakfast you can have a great home cooked meal. Think about the egg mc muffin combo its an English muffin, one egg, thin slice of ham, slice of cheese and a hash brown. Now look at my picture of all the similar ingredients for the same $5.60 range, it's a no brainer. They have got to be the cheapest real breakfast in Milwaukee. This is a great neighborhood place and will become my simple go to place when I'm not trying some place new or going for a specific breakfast. I will post the Saturday menu also.

The food's not gourmet, but it's solid diner fare. The ambiance isn't fancy, but it's sweet in its honesty. The folks aren't hip, but they sure are friendly. So glad to run across this little spot in 'stallis... another in the series of 'spots that time forgot.' That said, I loved Michael's! Nice folks, decent prices, and as I noted earlier, solid, solid diner fare. My chicken dumpling soup wasn't out of this world, but it was quite good. Same went for my BLT and fries. The mister had a pot roast sandwich, which he likened to tasting like "school lunch, but in the best way possible." If you find yourself in the area, stop in for a cup of coffee and some pie, or for their all-day breakfast, or for a BLT. (There's quite the depth in their menu, which is exactly as it should be at a family-run diner.) Michael's seems like a neighborhood rock... I kind of wish they were in my 'hood! Full disclosure: I'm partial because I love diners and I love neighborhood spots even more, but this place had warm fuzzies written all over it. Four stars!

The food quality has gone down a lot, as well as the service quality. I wish they didn't have funky hours, they used to have normal restaurant hours, but it's still a okay place to eat

I live two blocks away from here so I go here a lot. It's great. The atmosphere isn't that good but the food is what counts. We get Friday night fish fries from here a lot it's cheap, tasty, and has good portion sizing. The burgers are good as well. It's one of those classic family restaurants.

With a name like Michael's, its bound to be good! I had gone here when I was very young with my gransfather. Recently, I went back after going to the dog groomer across the street. It seems like a nice, family place. The food was very good. I had a monte cristo that came with fries, and everyone was very reasonable. The biscuits and gravy my wife had was very good. This is a very nice, hole-in-the-wall place that is fun to just hang out in a booth and drink coffee. Every single person that was working there was nice and polite too.

Hidden out in the open on the corner of 84th & Cleveland, Michael's is a well known secret of West Allis and surrounding areas. Small diner type feeling is a host to numerous regulars. I've been going here for years since I was introduced to it in 1991 or so. They have the BEST chicken dumpling soup. They are known for their broasted chicken and fish fry as well. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and you just can't go wrong. They even have pizza now and offer carry out on all of their items. A definite must try.

I'm unsure why this says west Allis? I'm more than sure this is on Wisconsin Ave. Anyway, Michaels is a old school family owned diner. Don't expect five star service or five star treatment from the staff that's just not what they are about. This isn't a place that i frequent but when i do the food is always good and cheap. I always get breakfast here and its always on point, so i cant speak for the rest of the menu. This place is usually open late so you might see a lot of strange characters in and out of the diner. My friend and I joke and call it creepy MC creep-ville because of the strangers who frequent here. This place still has pictures of food on the wall! Who does that? You know the food in your local gyro establishment? The food that looks nothing like what you get at your table once the order is up? OK enough with the satire! All is well though! The food is tasty and cheap and if your leaving your favorite drinking establishment, then stop in and curb your appetite and maybe get rid of that hangover or better yet fall asleep in the booth while your friends make fun of your drunken body, take pictures and eat the meal you ordered! (Michaels endorses this) OK maybe they don't but I'm sure you get my drift right?

Ever since I was a little kid, I remember absolutely adoring their chicken dumpling soup. Haven't been there in quite awhile, might need to return to heat up with some of their soup again!

I have gone to Michael's since I was a wee little boy. I don't think I've ever gone to eat there for lunch or dinner though! Their breakfast is solid standard breakfast food for an affordable price. I absolutely love showing up early in the morning to see a group of 60+ year olds shooting the breeze over breakfast. It may be nothing special for you, but it holds a special place in my heart. Check it out and maybe you'll be able to appreciate it for what it is...a quaint restaurant with decent food, fair prices, and a chill atmosphere.

Working in West Allis back in the day, Michael's was a convenient and popular spot for breakfast and lunch. Stopping there recently, I was pleasantly surprised to see the same tasty menu items still offered at a great value! But Michael's is all about consistency and that includes the fast, friendly service. And don't forget to try the Polish sausage w/ eggs...my personal favorite!
