Owns up to The Local Corner Pub & Grub title. Bars for miles down this road but if you want amazing greasy food definitely stop here. Pelli's has been around for quite a while but I recently stopped in for a drink and some food with my girlfriend. We split the Sammy Mac, which is a Mac n Cheese type stuffed burger... With their onion rings of course!! Ugh ... Talk about cardiac arrest!!! So worth it! Doesn't end there though... We also got an order of wings, which I cannot complain about (Thai chili and chipotle). Food great! Service... I enjoyed the energy the bartender had to offer, but the regulars were stealing our spotlight from him. Fun mix of crowd... Regulars may stare you down... But they don't bite. Lol.

Our 5th stop for Lent 2015 took us to Kokopelli's because I saw that they were rated the 4th best fish fry in Milwaukee on WISN's A-List. It is your typical neighborhood bar with a restaurant. Standard size bar a few 4 tops in the bar area and a pool table. The restaurant area of the bar is a good size for a neighborhood place. It wasn't busy at all so we got seated right away. They serve Fish Fry from 3 pm to 10 pm on Fridays and have plenty of options. All Frys are served with bread basket, soup or salad, fresh lemon wedge, homemade coleslaw tartar or cocktail sauce and choice of fries, tater tots, or sweet potato fries. 1. Senior's Early Bird Special - before 6 pm - 2 pieces of lightly breaded cod - $7.95 2. Senior's Fry after 6 p - 2 pieces of lightly breaded cod - $8.95 3. Traditional Cod - 3 lightly breaded cod for $9.95 or 4 lightly breaded cod for $10.95 4. Blacken Catfish - Pan Seared in Ancho Chili seasoning that is served over a bed of Jalapeno Lime Slaw and house veggies - $12.95 5. Walleye - Pan Seared or Deep Fried - $15.95 6. Lake Perch - Pan Seared or Deep Fried - $12.95 7. Baked Cod - served with house veggies - $12.95 8. Double Delight - Two Choices of either cod, perch or shrimp - $12.95 9. Full Catch - Cod, Perch, and Shrimp - $15.95 10. Shrimp - $12.95 Our table ordered the Lake Perch, Walleye, Traditional Cod - 3 pieces, and the Full Catch. Bread basket was filled with white and rye bread with butter. The soup was subpar - very watery clam chowder; not lots of clam or potato in it. The salad was basic - just lettuce and dressing. It was a nice change of pace to have a lightly breaded fish instead of beer battered fish. Good sized portions. The one piece of Walleye was huge. Nothing special about the fries or tater tots. Overall the meal was decent to good. The waitress was friendly and brought our food as soon as it was ready. The cook/chef was really slow. There were only 4 tables when we got there and it took forever to get our order.

Upon entry, we should've followed our instincts and turned around--the place was empty on a Friday night at dinnertime. I had called earlier to verify the Entertainment Coupon was valid for Friday fish fry at which time the lady on the phone said yes which is the only reason we stayed. When we arrived around 6:30, the place was dead...a few regulars at the bar. The bar was dingy and dirty and we unfortunately saw the people cooking after we had already ordered who weren't much better and also weren't wearing gloves. We ordered a pitcher of Lakefront IPA. For dinner, we ordered the blackened catfish which was salty and didn't have the sauce ($14) and the fish fry that comes with cod, perch and 4 shrimp ($16). The fish was very fishy tasting, even the cod. The tater tots were the best part of the meal. When our bill arrived, we gave the waitress the coupon and she told us it wasn't valid for fish fry. I explained to her that I had called earlier and the host said it was. She still didn't honor the coupon but instead said they'd take 1/2 off the pitcher which was $7 vs my coupon which was buy one entree, get one free. I can't believe that little pitcher cost $14?!?! This was the most expensive worst meal I ever paid for and the health inspector needs to pay a surprise visit. I will never be back and will be sure to let everyone else know my experience. Horrible food, dirty, overpriced and poor service.

I've wanted to try the burgers here for awhile. I recently heard they have a new chef, and now have loaded burgers like the amazing Jucy Lucy's I've had in the twin cities. I stopped in tonight and found something REALLY interesting. The dining room was closed off because there was some sort of Line Dancing/Jazzercize program going on......there was not one person at the bar, so I had to ask if they were even open to which I was assured they were. (I assure you we're open.....from Clerks) I ordered the All American burger. A stuffed burger with cheese inside the burger and some onion rings. And then waited...and waited....and waited. It took surprisingly long for my food to come out. When it did, the cheese in the middle of the burger was barely melted, it was kind of gross and gooey. The onion rings were some of the better onion rings I've had in Milwaukee, but the burger just didn't impress me. Service wasn't great either. For being the only person in there, she sure didn't seem to want to earn a tip by any means. I won't be back. If I'm in the area and want a good burger, I'll go to Bulldog 60.

I've lived just a few blocks from this place for 4 years, and decided to give it a try before we move from the area. We also had a group on that needed to be used, which wasn't a bad deal. The place was pretty steady while we were there on a Friday evening. The atmosphere seems very scattered, no real purpose behind the motif and lots of random signs and posters. The service is not very good. No one greeted us as the door, except for a bunch of regulars sitting at the bar that stared at us in silence as we walked in. We had to walk over to a server in the back dining area to ask for a table. Once we were seated we were handed the fish fry menu, and a verbal blast of beers on tap. I prefer a beer list, as I end up picking whatever beer I can remember them saying that sounds decent from what they rattle off. I ended up getting something I didn't much like this time. When it came to round two, the server seemed annoyed to have to list the beers again. How about getting a written list then!? I didn't really want fish, but that was the only thing on the menu. Funny tho, because someone sitting at another table got a burger after we had ordered. The food was decent, and good portions. I can't see myself returning here and I would recommend a pethera of other good local choices if someone is looking. Try Las Palamas, Crawdaddy's or Hong Tai for some good food and service in walking distance of this place.

I'm glad the groupon cut the price in half. I'm giving this place two stars because I don't want to be mean. I ordered the chicken tenders which were chewy and tough to eat. I also ordered a cheeseburger that was cooked appropriately but lacked any kind of flavor. If your a restaurant owner and you really want to put a decent burger on the menu you can, there's no excuse for the burger I ate. The burger was suppose to come with American cheese and lettuce. The burger I got was cheddar cheese and no lettuce. Instead of making such a huge burger it might be better to focus on something of better quality that the average person can eat.

Kokopelli's Pub & Grub ... seems yelp doesn't have the full name. in any case, the burgers were excellent. the jalapeno stuffed burger with cheese was a bit spicy for my taste, but, then again, i was served the wrong burger. (more staff came on and took over the serving duties) the stuffed portabello mushroom and cheese burger was excellent. it came with sauteed onions. we were hoping for a burger a bit more like the Juicy Lucy burger of Minneapolis fame. the cheese melted into the meat (same as the 58 Club). so all-in-all, not disappointed, just not as cheesy as Matt's Bar. we ordered the homemade onion rings with both burgers. definitely well worth the extra $2 for them. nice and thick and cooked just right. the service was a little slower than i would normally like. they do have personalized T-Shirts that say "Good food fast, not good fast food" (as in McD's) or something to that effect. seems some of the staff was running a bit late and arrived while the owner was cooking the food. this is a local corner tavern/bar/restuarant. so don't expect anything else. i would think that watching the Packers or Badgers would be fun there since they have several tvs located around the room. there is a pool table near the kitchen. they do have a back room that is open on Friday nights for their Fish Fry and available for parties.. either way you can get table-side service. you can also sit at the bar. i'll give this place another chance to see if the service improves any. at the very least it could be a good night out with friends, burger, drinks and a few rounds of pool and/or darts.

my wife and I came for a latenight fish fry. we were after the main rush. My wife orderedthe baked cod and I had the full catch which was cod, perch, and shrimp. Hers was around 12 dlrs. Mine was around 15. The portion sizes were nice and actually pretty generous. I received 4 large shrimp, 4 nice size perch fillets, and 2 pieces of cod. the breading was very fine and not a lot if texture. it was very thick and verg dark brown, just short of burnt. it tasted slightly greasy. honestly it was probably due to dirty oil after a long night of fish frys and probably would have been fine earlier in the evening. my wife thought her cod was ok but not great. one nice thing is that yiu ciuld get fries, tots, or sweet potato fries as the standard choices. the sweet potatoe fries were the besr item of the night amd were perfectly cooked. service was okay and we used a groupon which made the price point even better. I might try them again if I can come earlier jn the night.
