I have been here about four times and love it. I am a snob when it comes to BBQ food and this place does a good job at comparing to what I have had in the south. Several times when I have gone they have offered an incredible deal of $20 for 3 meats and 2 sides. It was a great way to get a taste for what they offer and share with a friend. The meats have a nice smoky taste that enhances the seasonings and are complimented by their sauces. I also recommend getting the corn chowder and not sharing. After my family "sampled" I didn't have much to myself.

The brisket is melt I your mouth delicious! Best I've ever had. Love that it is served without any sauce on it and you can pick the sauce you like. Sweet potato fries were wonderful as well. Service was outstanding. Can't wait to eat there again.

I went in for a second visit to use the second of three vouchers I acquired via Groupon. This visit was as good as the first visit. I had the brisket last time, so I ordered the baby back rib and pulled pork combo ($21) with mashed potatoes. All dinners come with cole slaw, corn bread and choice of side. I had the beans last time. The smoked baby back ribs were among the best I've had in Milwaukee. They were moist and tender, and the meat did not "fall off the bone" because it's NOT supposed to for good smoked BBQ. That's fine for slow and low, oven baked ribs. I could taste the seasoning from the rub, which isn't always the case with smoked ribs I've had in town. I was impressed. The pulled pork started out great. The meat on the top layer had a great smoky flavor and it was also moist and tender. However, it was served on a plate in a small puddle of drippings or oil, or pork jus or grease. Whatever it was, the pork was saturated with it and it killed the smoky flavor I enjoyed with the top layer of meat. It also made the pork heavy and not sit well in my stomach, so I stopped eating it. It is probably fine on a sandwich because the bread can soak up the liquid. The cole slaw was the same as last time. I mixed it up because most of the cream was at the bottom. The corn bread was moist and the house made mased potatoes were made with red potatoes. They had a subtle buttery flavor and did not need gravy or anything else. They were solid as is. It was a ton of food and I couldn't finish it all even if I didn't have the issue with the pork. This platter would feed two people easily. It was a good value at $21. I have one more voucher, so I plan to try a burger and the smoked chicken wings I heard other customers rave about, but so far I'm a fan.

Good food. Good service. The ribs were well smoked. The burger was delicious. The wings were great and smokey!! The sauces were a bit plain. The xxx wasn't very hot and the other two were ordinary. The place is small and cozy. You are right on top of each other so don't be offended when the tae next to you is making all sorts of gastronomic sounds.

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon to sample some 'Stallis Q- sat at the bar as we usually do. Disappointed they don't carry draft beer, but It's a Q joint, not a bar, so no biggie. Chatted up the bartender, she let me peek at the smoker. I was happy to see it was an Ole Hickory pit. In the war between smokers, Ole Hickory is the underdog to Southern Pride, and maybe that's why I like them. The place makes their own sauces, Kansas City style which is typically sweeter sauce, Texas style, a nice bold sauce with a little kick, the XXX is their spiciest, but it's not awful. And last, the mustard based Carolina style. (My favorite for pulled pork) My pulled pork Sammie came out promptly, served on a tin plate and checkered paper. The bun was soft on the inside with a nice crisp exterior. The bun was grilled inside, which helped keep the buns from getting soggy. Unfortunately, my portion didn't include much bark, so I'm unable to comment on the rub. The pork had a nice smokey flavor that was well complimented by the Mustard sauce. It did have a weird kinda mushy consistency- not sure how or why this would happen, maybe they're using equipment to pull or shred the pork? Not sure. The Sammie comes with one side, today I picked the Acorn Squash. A nice sweet side in a cup, topped with Pecans- a nice touch! The bartender was chatty and friendly, staff seems happy. It won't be my first choice for Q in cream city, but it definitely won't be my last choice either!

Nice cozy environment and friendly staff. Great service!!! Food was average. I had the half chicken which was very juicy and good although the skin tasted a little burnt. My boy friend had the brisket plate and he said it was very enjoyable.

MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE!! Must try: Jalepeno popper dip, Double B burger with brisket, and the smoked wings! Best wings in Milwaukee hands down.

Good food, reasonably priced for what you get. Expect the corner bar feel, with the friendly corner bar type service. That's a good thing, in my book. They also make a great old fashioned!

We just had Double B cater our Holiday Luncheon. They were on time with delivery and helped set up everything. And the best part was our team enjoyed everything.

My husband and I frequent Double B's and have had nothing but great experiences. Yummy food, good service. We have also had their catering, the owner himself dropped it off steaming hot. Deliciousness.

The Good: The quality of the meat (wings, pork and beef) were excellent. Staff was friendly, beer selection was decent and the environment was welcoming. I appreciate being able to have access to all the different sauces! The Meh: Cornbread was alright, sauces were alright and the portion size could have been bigger for the prices.

This was my first time at Double B's BBQ & Burgers. Since it was my first visit there, I ordered a sampling of probably half the menu. I had the bacon balls from the appetizer menu and they were fantastic. A meatball comprised of meat and bacon and then wrapped with bacon and baked. They also came with two delicious dipping sauces that are sauces different from their barbecue sauce selection. I also tried the baby back ribs, the brisket and the pulled pork. All of these were absolutely delicious. Very tender with great flavor. As for side items, I had the baked beans, the regular french fries (not the sweet potato fries), the macaroni and cheese and the buttered corn. The macaroni and cheese was good and the other three were great. To drink, I started off with a sweet iced tea, but it had an aftertaste so I swapped it out for a Coke. I was told that they buy their tea by the gallon and do not brew it at the restaurant which I feel is a big mistake. They said they do not have enough room in the kitchen to brew their own tea, but I feel they should make room for this as unsweet tea and sweet tea go so well with barbecue and you want your tea to be delicious and, more importantly, fresh. The selection of barbecue sauces, of which there are four, were very tasty. They have a Carolina sauce, a Texas sauce, a Kansas City sauce, and a hot sauce. They were all good, but I preferred the Carolina sauce and the Kansas City sauce the most. Overall it was a great experience and the service I received was very good. I have been to all of the top 10 rated barbecue restaurants in the Milwaukee area now. And, probably the top 15. I would definitely put Double B's in the top two if not number one. If you love great barbecue, I would highly recommend that you make it out to Double B's. Also, they have a ton of TVs all over the restaurant to watch your favorite sports team. Oh, and they give you a "real" cloth napkin instead of the terrible paper napkins that all of the other barbecue restaurants to give you. Go give 'em a try. P.S. By the way, I took a lot of food home in to go containers. I knew I would not finish all of it and that is fine by me. I will have tasty meals for the next couple of days! :-)

Looking for some good BBQ this place is hidden on greenfield avenue in west Allis. Stopped in today and tried the BBQ pork potato skins. They were amazing. Great BBQ sauce on them too. Defiantly a place to try the menu. Great BBQ choices. Set backs are: - it is a little pricey - hours - seating area is rather small so get there when you can. The wait staff was awesome. great experience, great food. Look forward to visiting them again. 3 free wings on Wednesday when you order an entrée!!!

This was my first visit to Double B's, and since I was neither disappointed nor blown away - we'll start at a 3 and go from there. We stopped in around 7:00 and there were several people in there - always a good sign. I was surprised how small the space was! There are about half high tops and half booths/tables, in total probably no more than 15 tables. We were greeted promptly and shown to our spot. I was happy to see a list of domestics for $3.50 and microbrews for $4.00! They rotate in seasonal beers too. There was a large list of cocktails they offer, but we were starving. There is a page of "from the smoker" items, and our server explained that they are smoked in different blends, so be sure to ask when you stop in. Yesterday was cherry and oak. I got the ribs, for $14.95 and they came with cornbread/honey butter, bread and butter pickles with your choice of two sides. Holy moly. There is a seasonal vegetable that swaps, but I landed on baked beans and mac n cheese. Joe got a smoked chicken sandwich that came with one side for about nine bucks. Our server was pretty attentive, and it was nice to see them all picking up each others slack. If you join the VIP email club on Tuesdays entrees are BOGO. Our food took a while to come out considering the number of people in the restaurant, but our food was piping hot so we weren't complaining. Joe said his chicken sandwich was fine, and he liked the sweet potato fries he got - however they were clearly just mass frozen fries. I got my ribs without sauce so that I could test and choose my own. They had the mustardy Carolina sauce, a XXX habanero sauce, a Texas BBQ and another one that made no impression on me. Honestly... none of them did. They mostly tasted like bottled sauce. I used the XXX but barely got a kick from it. The mac n cheese was utterly tasteless which was a bummer since the server recommended it. The baked beans were honestly SO good. They had shredded chicken and an awesome smokey flavor. They touted their baby back ribs as being way meatier than most, and I was pleasantly surprised when pulling them apart how thick they were. That happiness was quickly diminished when I saw how much of it was fat, and subsequently left behind on the plate. The meat that there was was very flavorful. I would go here again to check out the nice patio out back, and maybe try the wedge salad that Pam M loved so much - but it isn't jumping to the top of my dinner rotation yet.

We stumbled on this place this afternoon while running a few errands. In short, A-Mazing! We had Bacon balls to start -meatballs wrapped in bacon...hey, they're low carb, right? Also ordered brisket & pulled pork sandwiches, also very good. I would come back in a NY minute. Happy eating

Excellent smoke flavor and very tender beef brisket. My boys has the pull pork sandwich and chicken wings and they both said it was great and would come back.

My friend and I ordered the chicken wings that we shared. She ordered butternut squash,Angus burger with Swiss cheese. Her burger was huge and as picky as she is she had no complaints in fact she was able to take half her burger home. I had brisket with Mac n cheese. All entrees come with a cornbread muffin. You are given several sauces to choose from:Texas, XXX, Carolina... Food was delish would go back again especially if I can go home my boo!

This place has a fantastic atmosphere. We ordered the Cheesy Jalapeno Dip, and it was one of the better decisions I've made in life. It was great! When my boyfriend's meal came, he used the dip for his french fries too. The waitress gave us free wings-- I'm not sure how that happened. They were pretty good. All in all, but the time our meals actually came, we had already eaten a ton. I love that they give you a bunch of sauces to choose from. We tried them all, and they were all really good. The only con was that our meat (both in our meals and the wings) was a little fatty, which was disappointing. It was a LITTLE pricy, but you're also paying for their atmosphere and way-above-average waitstaff, so I understand. It was a small place, but I never felt like our waitress was trying to turn our table or push us out. We loved the music, loved the decor, and even their bathrooms were super clean and kept with the general decor and atmosphere. (Is it weird that a big pro is their nice bathroom? Oh well.)

I ordered the Berry/Peach Moonshine before and with my meal. The alcohol is unnoticeable, the Berry reminded me of regular fruit punch, with an after taste of Apple (which was mentioned as a usual option along w/ the other Moonshine flavors). My order consisted of a Black bean burger, crinkle-cut fries, and a wedge salad. The burger quickly fell apart, due to soaking up its immense flavor. They have four flavors for your entree, which they mentioned, beyond the typical ketchup and mustard. Three out of the four were a type of barbeque sauce, and the fourth is a mustard-honey vinagerette. The bar area covers half of the restaurant space, and is right across from the dining room. Their are slot machines on the side of BB's that actually work! They can cash out for up to $200.

Possibly the best brisket in Milwaukee. I've only been here once and I got the brisket plate. Finding good brisket in Milwaukee has been a struggle but this place does it right. I didn't get the ribs but they also looked like they were smoked just right. Any fan of meat and BBQ needs to try this place out.

We were in the neighborhood and decided to try some BBQ for lunch at Double B's. We sat at the bar where I could see the cozy dining area which had a bit of a shack feel, although there were a lot of newer tin signs for decoration. There was a steady stream of customers coming in on a Saturday for lunch. I was glad to see that they offered wine in full sized bottles, but went with an iced tea. There was no draft beer available, but they were offering an old fashioned of the week. The special vegetable was an acorn squash mash, so I paired that with my pulled chicken sandwich. The chicken was not exactly pulled, maybe a little chunked, but smokey and nicely seasoned. A lot of barbecue joints seem to have challenges getting chicken to take on smoke, but it didn't seem to be an issue at Double B's. I also really enjoyed their mustard style sauce which had a great peppery element. The acorn squash side was just sweet enough for me and was topped with nuts. My meal at Double B's hit the spot.

Small restaurant, big barbecue flavor! First step into the door and you can smell the good smokey aroma. The menu is simple and easy to pick your meal, but the food is another story. I had the pulled chicken sandwich, which had a superior smokey taste with a toasted soft bun. The chicken noodle soup is second to none with its tender vegetables, thick noodles, and smokey chicken to top it off (if its on the menu, GET IT!) I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back for more!

Had a fantastic meal at Double B's tonight. The pulled pork was wonderful. Best BBQ we have ever had in Milwaukee. My husband grew up in Kansas City and we have found nothing to compare to KC BBQ in 35 years until now. This food is delicious!!!!

One can only judge by their own experience and despite the negative reviews, I was impressed with my dining at Double B's! A bowl of the corn chowder and blue cheese wedge salad was my meal. The corn chowder was SO GOOD. I could have kept eating it. It also had corn bread croutons. The Wedge Salad was the most attractive version of this dish that I have seen anywhere! It had sliced grape tomatoes, real bacon and not crumbled but bigger pieces gave it a premium feel. Chunks of blue cheese and a side of "chef made" blue cheese dressing. It was a very satisfying meal. My friend was very happy with her brisket plate. She liked the honey pecan butter that came with the cornbread (and I forgot to sample it, darn). One negative: the mac & cheese sucked. Not very cheesy, not much flavor. Why is it so hard to get good sides at a BBQ joint? It's consistenly an issue every time. Server was a dear ;) The Georgia Peach drink was pretty darn good. Friends was too sweet, can't remember the name but it looked like blue curaco was involved. And I avoid that crap like the plague. Not a Stalis person, but I'd go back and give them my business again!

I've come here several times now (i live walking distance away). I have to admit that i'm never disappointed. I enjoy the brisket and the ribs. I love their texas BBQ sauce with a hit of XXX. I'm never blown away, but what it does do is satisfy my desire for BBQ. And i love BBQ, so that desire pops up about 2-3 times a month. One of those 2-3 times is usually satisfied by Double B's. So there's that.

More like 4.5 stars! Thanks to Groupon, we found this little spot. Perfect for a Saturday night dinner. Baby back ribs, pulled pork, and chicken were excellent. The coleslaw was dry but the mapleacorn squash and mac'n'cheese was very delicious. The Groupon has us locked in for at least two more visits but we are not complaining!

this is in the spot where Bunker's used to be. I am not sure if it's the same owners? I had seen some reference to the old Bunkers on Facebook. Anywhoo, we had the Living Social coupon for $10.00 off three visits. We had intended on eating BBQ but took a look at the menu prices and didn't know what to get. They range from around $11.00 to $21.00 for a meat combo which I would have gone for but the budget conscious person in me was calculating the price in my brain. Because we had the coupon I thought we couldn't order the special fish fry but we were allowed to at $9.95 a piece. The coupon basically covered our drinks a beer and a Lynchberg lemonade. The fish was delicious, three huge big pieces of cod with beer batter. We were allowed one side. I had the smashed red potatoes (mashed) and my hubby had the beans. Both were good and the plates each came with a vinegar coleslaw and rhy bread. We've got two more $10.00 coupons and will come back. I still think $21.00 is too high a price point for the combo. There were 3 other tables full on a Friday night in West Allis.

Stopped in here the other day to check out what there bbq was like and I was surprised at the crowd in there! Felt like a neighborhood dive that was small, and convenient and comfortable. Looked at the menu and there were some great options to choose from. I love finding good bbq and I had a hard time choosing what to get. The waitress came to my table promptly and took my drink order and helped me decide on a combo plate of ribs and brisket. The portions were pretty good size. The sauce on both were great and they gave me multiple condiments to choose from, as well as my sides of mac and cheese and beans. I know many barbeque places take their time cooking there meat, and slowly cook it over 2,4,6 hours sometimes longer to get the best flavor in the meats. However in this case the meat tastes dry, and old as if it was cooked 12 hours ago and say in a warmer waiting to be sold. The mac and cheese had a bland taste to it, but the beans were good. I would definitely give them a try again. I have heard good things about the place but my experience with the food wasn't the best.

Stopped in with a few friends on a Friday night. Seemed like a decent place, smelled awesome as we walked up. Waitresses were friendly. Food was decent, I had the pork shoulder. Meat was good, but the baked beans and mac & cheese were mediocre. Corn bread was dry. But at least they nailed the important part. I'm rarely in the area, so I doubt I'll be back, but if I was local I'm sure I'd try it again. If you want decent bbq give it a try.

Great bar and awesome bbq. This is THE REAL DEAL. I don't take bbq lightly since I cook in competition and whenever I travel i try to find the best in the area. This place is definitely 5 star and a great value.

I was just at an area fund raiser for WSTEM School in Wauwatosa. It was a chili tasting and I had the pleasure of trying Double Bs chili. It was OUTSTANDING! The fact that they had donated it for a fundraiser made it even more impressive! I've eaten at the restaurant before and would highly recommend their pulled pork. They also have the best sauces in town (sorry Famous Daves and Speed Queen - you have nothing on this place!).

I keep wanting to be blown away by this place. The meat has been consistently good and the price has finally settled into something appropriate. There is a host there that always seems lost. He might be a manager or the owner. There aren't many tables, do you really have to go away and walk the place to find a spot for us....every time? All beer selection is in bottles only, though good choices. No Sunday hours?

  • Carol B.

Loved everything about my meal. I had the 1/2 chicken with smoked beans, coke slaw and corn bread. The chicken was moist and delicious. The BBQ sauces were a great add but the chicken was great without it. We will definitely go back.

The general manager reached out to me following my review and explained the happy hour and apologized for the sub par food experience. That customer service alone is worth a bump in star rating. He invited me back and I'll update my experience here.

Some of the best BBQ I've found since moving from Georgia to Wisconsin. Being from the south I know my BBQ but their brisket is awesome. Atmosphere is cosy and small but the staff is friendly and helpful all 3 times I have been here. Go on your birthday week and spin the wheel for free prizes as well.

  • Sarah D.

I wanted to be wowed by this place but just didn't do anything for me. I have had BBQ that is way more juicy and has more flavor. We ordered the shoulder which was very bland. We also got the brisket which wasn't terrible. We ordered the sliders which I thought were dry and the bread was cafeteria style. The coleslaw was bland and the cornbread was dry and tasteless. For what we ordered the price did not seem adequate.

Was happy to hear of a new BBQ joint in the Milwaukee area. We were going to check it out a couple weeks ago with my nephew. When I called inquiring about a high chair I was told that they were still working on some things and had not gotten high chairs yet...so, we passed that time. We decided to give it a try today for lunch. No baby with us, so I didn't check to see if they had gotten high chairs yet. Sorry. I was happy walking up to the restaurant because the smell of BBQ was in the air. And I was hungry for some good BBQ. The place was busy and we were greeted and seated right away. Recently this place had been a martini bar and they did a nice job switching the decor to something that probably fits the neighborhood better with barn boards, beer signs and checkered tablecloths. Service was good. The menu looked promising and the beer list had a good variety of brews to choose from. And then...the food came. Started with the black peppered bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Unfortunately the bacon was rather flavorless. And the ranch dressing dipping sauce didn't help much. I I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with coleslaw. The slaw was good. There was a good amount of pulled pork and it looked pretty tasty. They provide four different BBQ sauces in squirt bottles - Texas, Kansas City, South Carolina and North Carolina. All are good - preferred the Texas. Although the sauces are good, the meat was really pretty flavorless. No smokehouse flavor...just pretty bland and dry. It wasn't bad, however I've had much better. My husband ordered the beef brisket sandwich with baked beans. He liked the beans. The sandwich was inedible due to the overwhelming amount of fat on the brisket slices. He cut off the fat, leaving a pretty weak sandwich. At first I thought he should just ask for some more meat as maybe they had better cuts in the kitchen, but after the face he made when he took his first bite, it was just better to send the whole thing back. When the waitress saw the amount of fat on the plate, she took it back right away saying it wasn't right. He then ordered the same Pulled Pork Sandwich that I had. Usually I'll give a new restaurant another try, but I doubt that we'll go back. And if we do, I'll order a burger. There's better BBQ to be had elsewhere.

Absolutely the best smoked bbq in Milwaukee and surrounding boroughs. If you don't try the brisket, you're missing out on one of life's greatest pleasures...

I finally was able to come into this local BBQ restaurant/pub this afternoon. I had no idea what to expect when coming. At first glance this place looks like a somewhat swanky bar/pub area in front with a great bar to the right and some tables and booths to the left. "Not your average, no frills BBQ joint." I was immediately greeted by the front manager and bartender. Ordered a hand muddled bourbon old fashioned, made from scratch. It was perfect. Their menu includes all of the classic BBQ dishes, and includes a combo of the day. All in all a great menu, except they did not have mashed potatoes! Let's get to the meat: The ribs and brisket combo were well seasoned and both tender. The brisket was above average with good smoke and there was minimal fat on the outside. But the deep crusted bark on the brisket that I think makes brisket exceptional was not there. The baby backs were great! Good smoke, tender but still firm meat that clung to the bone just enough. I will for sure without a doubt order these again. The Texas sauce makes a great choice, the meat comes without sauce from the kitchen. The sides of vinegar slaw and bbq beans were again very good. Especially the beans. Bacon, black pepper, and other spices make them a great side choice for sure. The manager gave me 2 wings to sample. One wing had their beef rub on the outside after being flash fried. The wings are smoked first. Crunchy, moist, tender, bone in morsels. Seriously awesome awesome chicken wings. They have a huge smoker in the back of the restaurant, next to a great patio. They use cherry wood to smoke all the different meats, making it a great choice without over powering smoke. All in all, a great choice worth the drive to West Allis. Friendly staff, good drinks with full bar, and a great menu to satisfy your BBQ addiction. Hard to find decent BBQ and this place does so in a great way.

If you can't say anything nice, you shouldn't say anything at all. But if that were the case, what fun would Yelp be? I was pleased to hear another BBQ joint was opening up in town. For a while, there was a dearth of quality slow-roasted meat places around here -- seemed like every new place was a steak place. Double B's opened a few weeks ago to quite a bit of fanfare. They did a good job announcing their arrival to the Milwaukee dining scene. So ever since, I've been anxious to try it out. I did. Finally. And boy was I disappointed. I ordered the BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich. It arrived at the table so full of fat that I spent the first five minutes pulling off each individual piece and trimming it. Of course, this also made the sandwich go cold if it was hot when I started. After separating all of the fat, which was a lot, I reassembled the sandwich, squirted on some Texas sauce and took a bite. My teeth sunk into a chunck of brisket that they could not sever and out of the bun slid a large slice of pale pink beef. I had to slurp it into my mouth like it was spaghetti. It took some effort to masticate this meat wad into a mash suitable for swallowing. I took another bite. Same result. The waitress stopped by and asked how everything was. I'm a notorious non-complainer, but this time I had to speak up. "Not good." She saw all of the fat that I trimmed off and said that she did not blame me. She gladly took my unfinished sandwich away and replaced it with a BBQ Pork Sandwich. The pork was better, but compared to the under-cooked brisket, that's not saying much. The pork was pulled finely and had little flavor. The texture? Mushy. This could not have been the result of slow-cooking in a smoky BBQ vessel, unless the vessel was a Nesco roaster with some added smoke flavor. We even lived large and ordered an appetizer: peppered bacon-wrapped water chestnuts. The bacon had an off-flavor. It wasn't bad enough for me not to eat it, but my wife wasn't a fan. She let me eat them. Sorry to say it, but the "B" in Double B's can mean a lot of things. To me it means bye-bye. As in bye-bye, Double B's. I'll be enjoying my BBQ elsewhere.

It was BBQ time again and this was the place today. The race track was open and the whole area was full of people. Service was slow even for take out and the place was standing rom only and I mean packed. The staff was non stop crazy busy. The place was a small bar and restaurant and I was in a sea of people so I couldn't gauge the decor. See my picture of the 1/2 rib dinner with two sides. I opted for sauce on the side so I could taste the meat on its own. I got the spare rib cut because they are meatier and have some fat which makes a the ribs less dry. Look at the picture and you will see there is a dry rub on every inch of the meat. The meat has a nice smokey flavor and you can see the smoke ring. I got the tangy sauce which was good. The ribs were meaty and moist with a little pull off the bone. After washing my hands I can still smell ribs on my fingers. Over all they were good and visually great looking. Now you know how I feel about the sides and they are never the stars of the show. The corn bread was perfect not too moist and not too saw dusty. The frys we're average and nothing special. The Mac and cheese was cooked perfect and not all mushy but still firm with a light cheese flavor. The Mac could use a bigger cheese flavor. Over all I felt this was real BBQ ribs like you see on those tv BBQ cook off shows for this area. This will be my new close to home BBQ place. I hope the ribs have consistency and stay how they were today. If I go back and they are dry, tough or Cheney like some have said I will be disappointed. For how slammed they were I was sure my order would be messed up but it was perfect. I could smell BBQ as I drove up but with how small the place is I don't know where the smoker is.

I have been to Double B's a hand full of times the past few months. I have tried a few of their burgers and am very impressed. There varying barbecue sauces are delicious to smother on the food. They have a nice beer selection and happy hour specials. The back patio is pleasant to sit and eat under the warm summer sun. I will continue to come back.

We were hungry the other night, and on my wife's direction, off to Double B's we went. The late afternoon was clear and just slightly cool, but comfortable, so we sat in the back outdoor seating area. Very nice decor, and the smoker is there as well so we were able to enjoy the great smell as well. Our server was fantastic and very friendly. Gave us the specials and explained the different BBQ sauces. Drinks were delivered quick, and the beer was nice and cold. Brisket for me with the mac n cheese and coleslaw while my wife ordered the pulled pork with mac n cheese with fries. Food came out after a short wait and it smelled and looked fantastic! After clearing a spot for me to place a little bit of each sauce, I dug in. Wow! Brisket so tender and full of flavor, the sauces were only needed as a compliment to the meat instead as a primary ingredient as in some other BBQ places. I really liked how the meat was served without the sauce dumped all over meat on arrival. The mac n cheese was good, but could have been cheesier. The coleslaw was great. More of the sour type as opposed to creamy. I really enjoyed trying all the different types of sauces. I was given a decent amount of brisket, so I was able to do multiple taste tests of each sauce. My wife's pulled pork was some of the best I have ever tried. Great smell and full flavored. With a little of the sauce, absolute perfection. Our server was very attentive and was quick with refills and a sweet smile. All in all, a great experience and we are looking forward to our next visit.

I've been here several times and I always think I want to try something different, but I keep going back to the cheeseburger. In my opinion it is one of the best burgers in town. I have tasted the pulled pork and it is delicious as well. Fries are good, chips not so much. I wish they had tater tots. Great selection of BBQ sauces. Back patio seating looks nice, inside is cozy. The weirdest thing about this place is no beer on tap! They have a nice selection of bottled beer. I'm really glad to have such good BBQ close to home.

The old Bunkers spot is closed and the replacement is this BBQ joint. Supposedly the interior was redone and all that but I couldn't confim this. I hadn't been to bunkers. I like the fact that another BBQ place has opened up so it's time to test it out. This is one that i will review again after a couple more visits. This review is off of first impressions and I will update with a more thorough review in a little while. I am not sure how busy this is going to get but I would assess the area as small to medium. They offer a variety of things from burgers, brisket, ribs and the usual BBQ fare. I did try the brisket and thought it was good. I had a burger here as well (the name eludes me) which had roasted pablanos and a good amount of cheese. I really liked it. Just wished I could remember the name. Considering that it was slow I found service to be a touch slow. The staff is quite friendly and we were welcomed right through the door. From the time ordered to the time the food arrived I felt it was a good amount of time. I am curious to see service times as it gets a bit more busy. The menu looked great. West Allis does lack greatly in dining options so this is a great addition. If you aren't familiar with the area you will be parking on the street or in the lot in the rear of the building. It's on the north side of the street. Parking on Greenfield is quite limited as this is downtown West Allis. I am going to rate this one down the middle and I will reanalyze this after a few more visits to give a more complete review. As it stands right now it's tasty and affordable!

I had the chance to dine here last night with a few members of my family. Overall the business was clean, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was decent. However the food and portion's could use a little love. I ordered the Pulled Pork plate with Mac n' Cheese and Sweet Potato Fries; the plate also came with corn bread and a honey pecan butter. We also ordered their Nacho's with pulled pork. The nacho's with pull pork was spot on. Nice big chucks of smokey pulled pork topped with all the usual nacho fixes. The pulled pork plate however, did not have those large hunks of smokey goodness. Instead what i got looked like they just pulled it out of the bottom of a crock pot. It looked more like sloppy joes, after i added my choice bbq sauce to it. My dad ordered the brisket, and i can tell you, that looked amazing. Also my step-mother ordered the corn chowder which she said was really good. My step sister ended up getting a burger with pepper jack cheese which she said was amazing, and from the look of it, i should of got the same. The sweet potato fries were actually waffle fries made from sweet potatoes, but were not home made. I really enjoyed the corn bread with the pecan butter. My final thoughts are that this place does have decent food, however the large platters that are only partially filled with food leave something to be desired. Also, i would not order the pulled pork plate again, perhaps if the pork looked like what came on my nacho's i would. So if you and your buds have been out for happy hour and want to grab some grub, check out this place, just pass on the pulled pork.
