Good sandwiches and salads, great sweet potato fries.

Went there for breakfast while staying at the Pfister. Decided I wanted something that didn't require my eating the whole thing there so ordered a turkey club sandwich with truffle fries. Even though it was the middle of breakfast, there was no fuss with my ordering a sandwich. In fact the chips were made fresh and were so good. My sandwich was HUGE with real turkey, thick cut bacon and all the other typical fillings. It was also cut in fourths and lying sideways, kept together with toothpicks - two picks for each piece - that's how big each fourth was. I ate one fourth and took the rest to go. It provided me with food for the rest of the day - a five hour drive home and dinner that night. Our party started with two people and kept adding as others showed up. The waitress had no problem coming back and taking extra orders and keeping the orders separate. It was a busy Sunday morning but service was attentive and the food came out quickly.

Very disappointing breakfast. Ordered the farmfresh omelette with orange juice and coffee. I asked for the hashbrowns to be crispy. Service was quick (as it should be since I was the only one in the place). The food, though, was mediocre at best. The eggs for the omelette were lame. It was big and fluffy, as if were either microwaved or cut with water. The eggs had no taste. The farmfresh was to come with sausage, bacon, ham, onions and cheese. Well, it had onions...lots of onions. I think they took half of one breakfast sausage and cut it into pieces, and maybe a whole slice of bacon. Not a lot of meat. And for the cheese capital of the US, an embarrassment on the cheddar. I tried to improve the flavor with salt and pepper, but I happened to be sitting at the only table in the place without pepper. It also came with toast, which was excellent! The orange juice, on the other hand, was store bought. Pretty lame for $4.00/glass. And the coffee was just so-so, even though the Cafe shares space with a Starbucks. And, I wasn't offered a cup to take back to my room. Oh yeah, the hashbrowns. They made an attempt to make them crispy, but all they did was let them sit in a pile on the grill a bit longer. Burnt on the outside, raw on the inside. So the waitress asks how was everything, so I politely tell her (some, but not all of this). She apologizes and comes back later to assure me that the eggs were not cut with water, and with a $23.00 bill. I'll be looking for a Waffle House tomorrow!

The cafe at the Pfister has everything necessary for working remotely: free wifi, coffee, basic food, etc. I have only ever ordered from the Starbucks counter at the front of the cafe, so I can't speak to their actual menu or their servers. The coffee is basic, as are the food choices. That said, I'm grateful that there's a place with free wifi and decent coffee so close to my gym, so I can get work done before working out. The people working there are friendly and competent, so no complaints there. It's a far cry from a Colectivo, but it gets the job done (pun intended).

Lovely little spot to breakfast, lunch, and camp out on the work tip. I've now had the food, and it's great! Thoughtful offerings, great flavors, price points reasonable. (... and open to the public, not just hotel guests.) Free wi-fi, tea, coffee, and a bright open ambiance make this spot welcoming and accessible while still being upscale laid-back. Still think they should go local with their coffee... ;)

A very casual place to grab a meal. I've been here twice and both were for brunch, and I love this place. Especially around the holidays, the interior of Pfister has a great holiday festive feel to his which adds more to the charm to this place. I sipped on my bloody Mary and scarfed down a delicious order of crab cake benne. Their crab cake came highly recommended and rightfully it should. The service was extremely friendly and they were attentive to our needs. Even though we had a reservation, they did seem to be able to sit people right away without reservations. Pfister also has parking, but odds are you just might be able to find street parking near this area.

This is what you would expect at the Pfister. Nice, good menu, bakery items, etc.

Finally came here for lunch. Love this hotel. Disappointed in Cafe. I expected an experience at such an iconic hotel that presidents and celebrities pass through. It felt equivalent to the expectation of service at a George Webb, yet, I've received better at Webb's. My basic hamburger was missing a main component as well...the cheese.

I'm pretty sure I just had the best omelet I've ever had here. Oh wait, I'm definitely sure I did. My standard go to when I don't know what to order for brunch is a ham and cheese omelet. The Cafe made it perfectly -- super fluffy (not a sad, flat mess), all yellow (no weird brown burnt bits on the outside), etc. My friend asked for a side of veg instead of the hash browns her eggs were served with and the side was amazing! It had spinach, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms - way more than we were expecting for a side. No 5 stars because it did take a while for someone to even come to our table to greet us. Once we told our server we were in a hurry, it was smooth sailing. Oh and they do have bubbly or whatever you'd like from the bar, you just have to ask as it's not listed on the menu.

I've travelled the country for many years and had breakfast at some of the higher end hotels. This is at the very top as far as breakfast goes. I've dined here for breakfast about 15 times and have never been disappointed. The eggs are organic, the hash browns are always crispy, and they have everything you could wish for. They serve breakfast late also. You can't go wrong with the Hungry man or the Lumberjack - huge meals, and the steak is quite tasty. The prices are spot on for what they should be for a quality hotel breakfast. I always look forward to eating here when I'm in Milwaukee!

I love Eggs Benedict, and The Pfister has the best. They do a South of the Border Benedict that has chorizo instead of Canadian Bacon, and has pico de gallo on top. It is obviously fresh, and super tasty, but on top of that is very reasonably priced. I like to take the kids enter through the lobby. They get a big kick out of how ornate it is. Try it and tell me how much you like it.

Slow service today buy my omelette was very good. I asked them to put meat in the veggie and they did. Fresh squeezed was apple and strawberry - different - good - I would just go with orange juice next time. I'm eating here for free wi-fi and now I see a sign that says complimentary Ipads...cool. I wouldn't have had to haul my big computer down here.

Ok... I was disappointed. I want this place to be good so I will probably come again and give it a second chance. I ordered the healthy frittata because the organic ingredients caught my eye and boy do they make "healthy" a bad thing. It had no taste and was probably the worst egg dish I've ever had. It was a slab of egg with a few tomatoes and spinach. Yuck, absolutely no taste at all! The service was adequate and attentive.

Although it feels like a hotel (becuase it is), I've had some very enjoyable, relaxing lunches here. For some reason I always get the Herb Kohl special and it's tasty!

Went to the Cafe @ The Pfister for brunch yesterday and had to say I was disappointed. It started off with two hostess not being able to seat people. They seemed to take their time and when a party of 4 or more came in they were stressed on how to move tables together. Being Sunday the cafe was busy to be expected, so the time it took to get our food etc was adequate. The food was nothing to write home about. I told the waitress I wanted Cheddar cheese instead of Swiss cheese and I swear my omelet had cheddar and swiss. I should have stuck with my first choice and went to The Knick.

Ate breakfast here out of convenience cause we stayed at t he Pfister. My husband had an omelette which he really enjoyed but the reason i'm giving 3 stars is for my meal and the slow service. i had the florentine benedict which is my go-to dish. the eggs (both of them) were cooked all the way through. i have never been to a breakfast joint that messes up on eggs on a benedict. i ended up waiting for a while because the waitress forgot about the eggs. the only redeeming part of the breakfast is that they ended up not charging us for the dish. the other components of the benedict- the bread was a little much (the muffin) but the hollandaise mixed with tomato bisque was good.

My restaurant week lunch was great. I had the boneless Asian style chicken wings, pulled pork sandwich, and chocolate layer cake. Each one was delicious! The chocolate cake was especially good. My coworkers got the chicken tortellini, which they thought was mediocre. I would like to come back and try the tantalizing pastries (scones, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, etc.) on display.
