High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

We are from out of town and we wanted something quick cheap and easy, so we chose Applebee's (we were also craving it) Our Applebee's back home has never disappointed us. We saw the reviews and knew what we were getting into, then accidentally came to this one. When we walked in the door, there was a party of about 14 waiting. They were standing for awhile before they were helped. After, we were hit on by one of the wait staff, which made it awkward and uncomfortable for us. We were sat and waited about 5 minutes before approached by our server. She came up to us and was very nice and polite to us. We ordered drinks while we looked over the menu. She came back and we ordered. There's 4 of us and we each got a 2 for $20. The other 2 girls got their appetizers and meals before we got ours. Our appetizers then came out wrong. She let us keep the appetizer and she fixed it very quickly which was appreciated. Food- 4 It was good, typical Applebee's. We also got a free appetizer which was good! Service- 3.5 Our waitress was Very nice and fixed when something was wrong, but earlier, the guy who hit on us was not okay, he also approached us at our table later. Cleanliness- 2 Menus had food on them and the floor was dirty and hadn't been clean in a very long time Ambience- 3 It was very dark in the restaurant and the only light was from the streetlights. Awesome jams tho Overall, it wasn't as terrible as the reviews made it seem, but it wasn't good either.

This is absolutely the worst, and I mean genuinely the worst, Applebee's that I have been to eat. The servers were all new, didn't know the menu, acted like they didn't care about what they were doing, and didn't get our orders correct. It took twenty minutes or more for the drinks, and the server's family was there and arguing with the server. She was more interested in arguing with her family that doing her job. It was loud arguing that could be heard across the restaurant. The food was disgusting, barely edible, and served on what resembled cardboard pizza boxes. Were all their plates dirty? Did the dishwasher show up? Do they even have plates? Never, ever will I return to this place. If I could give it negative stars, it would get that. The only reason I gave it a star is because Yelp requires it.

$2 long islands on a Sunday?!?!? You better believe it! I came with a group of my friends to try the amazing potstickers I had been hearing about. I'm not much of a motorcycle aficionado but I really found that the Harley flair added to the atmosphere and made me feel like I was roughing it in a biker bar! Haha. I ordered the 7 oz sirloin for 11.95 and I could not tell the difference between my steak and one from a high end steak house in Chicago. Our server Regis was a real cut up and made sure we were laughing our pants off the whole time. I came to Milwaukee for the beer but I'm staying for the Applebee's! 5 stars!!!

Oh my God, WORST experience ever at a Applebee's. We live next door so we usually stop in quite a bit but after today I think this will be our last. The management/staff just doesn't care about anything. Our bartender was extremely slow, waited 10 mins before she even acknowledged us, and it wasn't busy. We ordered 2 long islands. My boyfriends drink was painfully sour, to the point we asked her to remake it twice. Each time was the same so we just gave up. Mine was okay, didn't taste any liquor but it was better than my boyfriends. We both ordered food, that was the only thing that came out right. We got the nachos and a salad. How hard is it to mess that up tho, right? The entire time the couple next to us were fighting and discussing very personal details about their relationship, made things super awkward, and the bartender was high fiving them every time they made a nasty joke. Ugh. It was just terrible. Long story short, just don't go. We had a terrible experience. The staff were swearing in front of us, drinks were bad, clientele even worse.

Absolutely the worst service EVER. It took 42 minutes to get a glass of water. Soup and salad was served before the table was even served water. The last person at the table was served 80 minutes after we arrived. Potatoes were overcooked, burgers undercooked and vegetables were questionable. The worst part of it was the so called manager. He knew we were having problems and not once stopped by our table. Awful!!! I would give zero stars if it would let me.

I wish I could give them no stars. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at an Applebee's. We were a large party and we started off with a few beverages and appetizers. This part went well, although there was a lot of introducing training wait staff which seemed unnecessary. Just bring me my diet coke, I don't need to know everyone's name. Then it was down hill from there. Two friends who ordered steaks got their sides and cooking temperatures incorrect. And one friend never got her meal. We kept asking and then they brought a second meal for someone else at the table, who already had her meal. Then the manager came over and said our friends meal would be over soon. It never came. Finally after everyone had been done eating for quite some time, we just paid and left. The manager took off the meal price of the meal that never came and that was it. The waiter and the manager didn't seem to care that my friend left hungry. No apologies. Nothing. If you are passing by this Applebee's at the entrance to the mall do not enter. Do yourself a favor and go to the food court at the mall or anywhere else.

Horrible service. Went with two other people and our food all came out at a different time. I got my food last, and by the time I got my food, my friends were almost done eating already. The wait is super long to get seated and to get your food. A lady that dined in and say across from my table came around the same time we did. She ordered her food before us, and she never got her food. By the time I left, she still didn't get her food. I was surprised she didn't walk out. The manager didn't do anything except walk around. He didn't help the workers or talk to any customers. This place is horrible.

The food is good but the service really stinks tonight! We have a table of seven and the drinks came out wrong and spread out over ten minutes. The food came out one or two plates at a time and one person is still waiting for hers a good ten minutes after everyone else has theirs and after the first ones that came out had finished. The big salad with chicken took up less than half the plate and when complained about, the manager said more chicken would be sent out, then a plate of extra lettuce was served. It's always been good here before!

Went to an Applebee's years ago in Oregon, and swore we would never go back because the food was awful. Went here because nothing else inexpensive was open. Big mistake. The service was horrible. Hardly anyone there, so why would it take more than 30 minutes to make 2 salads? Tried to leave, but food came just as we were almost out the door. Will NEVER go back to this chain.

I totally agree with the first review. I ordered fajitas last night and it tasted like garbage, I am better off eating out of a dumpster at this point. The service was good though. I would recommend you go there for drinks and dessert.

Poor service, below average layout and food quality compared to others that I have been to. There are plenty of other places to go in the downtown area, use them.

At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
