Salotto Zarletti Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Note, my visit was closer to 4 1/2 stars, but not quite 5 stars. Hopefully, 1/2 stars get added to Yelp some day. I found out recently that the chef, Andrew Miller, was leaving to work on opening his own restaurant in the former Prodigal space, so I wanted to try his menu before he left. It was a beautiful evening, so my friend and I sat on the patio bewteen the fire place and the water fountain. We ordered a glass of wine and a few appetizers to get us started. Grilled Baby Octopus ($12) is served with "olives, blistered tomato, calabrian chile (from Calabria, Italy), and chickpeas. I'm generally not a fan of the texture of whole chickpeas and had a hard time appreciating these. They were crunchy, intentionally I'm sure for texture contrast. The grilled octopus was perfectly cooked. It wasn't too chewy as octopus can often be. I didn't get the overall "wow" flavor I experienced with another Grilled Baby Octopus dish I had at AP Kitchen & Bar, but this dish was definitely solid! The Veal and Pork Meatballs ($9) were delicious. The texture was on the soft side, and the flavors of the seasoning and sauce were right on. After having a few different meatballs made with pork recently, I think I've decided I prefer meatballs without pork in them. They're good. I just prefer the texture and flavor profiles of meatballs without pork. The Housemade Burrata ($13) was out of this world! Creamy and delicious, it was served with housemade grilled bread. The serving was huge. We picked at it throughout the entire meal, adding it as an additional topping to the pizza we ordered. The prosciutto is available to add and really took the plate to another level! We decided to order the pizza called La Bomba ($15), and it was indeed The Bomb! It's topped with tomato sauce, fresh mozz, pieces of meatballs, and giardineira. Every bite was a flavor explosion, and it was enhanced when we added pieces of the burrata and prosciutto. WOW! All pizzas are the same size, around 12 inches and there are plenty of options to choose from ranging in price from a $9 Margherita to an $18 Del Re with a black truffle crema. Gluten free pizza, and pasta, is also available. Our last dish was the Seafood Stew ($25) with calamari, scallops, fish (I believe we had salmon and perhaps another type I cannot recall) and shrimp, served with grilled bread to dip in the broth, which was rich with the flavors of the seafood and shells it was made with! I didn't see what the retail store looked like, but I definitely love the design of the restauarant space on both floors. Although, I think the second floor would benefit from a movable divider to create separate rooms if overflow is needed for dining. It would also allow for multiple private event bookings. Our service was excellent, the wine was great, the food was great...it was an overall great dining experience. I learned that the sous chef drom Zarletti (downtown MKE) will be taking over as Executive Chef after Chef Miller leaves, so I expect great things to continue at Salotto Zarletti!

Server had too many tables and ignored us the majority of the time. Waters sat empty, appetizer plates weren't cleared, another round of cocktails/dessert weren't offered. I had the classic pasta with meatballs; it's the best way to tell if an Italian restaurant is worth it's salt. It wasnt. It was bland and room temp, at best. My boyfriend had the Chicken Farfalle. He said it was decent but reminded him of Chicken Helper and the peas were awful. It was as if they were frozen or reheated. Won't be visiting again.

I would put this as 1.5 star if possible. One star is a TOTAL FLOP and that's not the case here. However two stars indicates "Meh" and it was a tad worse IMHO. Firstly, service is always relevant but not what should generally drive a restaurant review as far as I'm concerned. Its the FOOD that should drive a review and that's what the problem here is. I really wanted to enjoy this place and have waited a while to take my whole family as the summer activities haven't given us much of a chance to go out as a fivesome. So we finally did and I told them all how hopeful I was for the place and that we'd enjoy a really nice end-of-summer Sunday dinner together. So...Food. Five different dishes and perhaps 2 of 5 that we'd even think about repeating on. The much heralded Burata -- Sorry total flop. It is served cold-ish and has a rather unappealing textural mix along with a bland flavor. The prosciutto helped but whatever. One of my daughters did enjoy it. The other four of us gave it a big thumbs down. There was even a little left over as we had no desire to finish it off. With that said...friends of our have all recommended so go figure. The chicken and farfalle dish was ultra-mediocre and had way too many onions for an Italian dish of this type. There were other tings going on here but I can't remember them. What I do remember is feeling that this dish should be a lay down for an Italian restaurant. The Carbonara (my personal favorite always) was extraordinarily BAD. Large rectangular chunks of Pancetta were strange as well as the choice of rigatonni for the pasta. Perhaps its a standard pairing somewhere in Italy but I've never seen it. Regardless, that's not entirely where it failed. It failed in that had no creamy, egg-parmesan texture/taste and instead seemed like it was in a thickened broth. Another real flop. Seafood Risotto was bland and made with obviously pre-prepared rice that was reheated with some veggies, a little salmon, some functional but not-quite-warm-enough scungilli and three underwhelmingly flavored shrimp. On the decent side was my wife's Salmon which was well flavored and finished (prepared entirely?) in the brick oven which lends wonderful taste and a rustic texture to the fish that I'd gladly have ordered. However the mashed potatoes (who serves mashies with salmon?) were bland as well and mushy/gritty in texture ala reheated grits. Even my wife, the mashed potato freak, left them barely touched. One bite test from me and I agreed completely. Lastly was the Margarita pizza for my son. This was tolerable if not inspiring. The oven yields a crust that is great. The basil was a bit much for him but I knew what to expect. With that said, I'd opt for a CPK version here but I'd also give some of their alternative pies a try first as they did seem to have some combos that were more fitting an adult's taste that I'm sure they'd execute well on. Overall I got the impression that the execution is off. Perhaps we could have made better choices from the menu but I don't sense that was the problem. The menu design seems well thought out and has genuine Italian offerings. Its the execution that really fails here. Uninspired or rote line work generated an entirely forgettable meal. Add the fact that with salads or apps, drinks and perhaps deserts, Salotto is not even remotely a casually priced meal, and I can assure you we won't be coming back for a long while. Darn, I was hoping for a hit in Mequon.

We went over lunch so this is a review of that menu. So much potential here. Going to try again for dinner. Overall, just missed on some key fundamentals. The atmosphere is nice, for a strip mall location. The servers were polite and knowledgeable on the menu. We started with a caprese salad. The mozzarella was tough to bite. And it was missing the balsamic. Though it had pesto instead. Not my favorite. Also the bread service was tasteless and dry; even with olive oil. Then we had the pomadoro pasta. Wow. It was really good. Apparently a family recipe. Garlic, basil and pepper. Tasty. We had the 10 layer chocolate cake. It wasn't very good. Pros - atmosphere, service and pasta sauce Cons - bread service

Went here for the first time today, the inside was very well decorated and it gave a very authentic feel to the place. The appetizers and dinners were fantastic! The menu was well balanced and I have to say the homemade from scratch pizzas are absolutely to die for! The place wasn't packed but had a good amount of people in the main room so it was a little noisy. Overall Pros Food was awesome Price was reasonable for the amount and quality of food received Cons The time between appetizers and entrees was a little longer than I would have expected They don't have curtains for the large windows in the main room, so if you are in a corner seat the sun will be moving across your face as the afternoon goes on I'm conclusion, I think this place did a fantastic job hitting the ground running, over other restaurants that have had problems for the first few months, this place has created a great setting with fantastic food.

Yummmmmmmmmm! Enjoyed my time at the salotto yesterday. They converted Laacke and Joys into a 2 story, modern Italian masterpiece. It 's looking really good in there. They have a few large flat screens at the bar, and one in a lounge area to relax before you are taken to dinner. The beer selection was great. No cocktail menu, which I like when I'm going out for a fancier dinner, but I was satisfied with the Dogfishead 90 minute IPA. Don't see that too often on tap. I know the restaurant is just a month old, so they are still workin out the kinks. Probably smart for now. Our family got the burrata and a margarita pizza to split as appetizers. The burrata was "eh" but if you put some prosciutto on there it was pretty good. It reminded me of a big mozzarella ball, which I love, but I was expecting more flavor to be honest. I had better burrata at AP bar. Zarletti steps up the game though with delicious bread. The rissoto verde was super delicious. It was a pesto inspired risotto with shrimp and asparagus. I loved it. It was creamy and full of flavor in ever bite. The ultimate part of the meal was dessert. The tiramisu was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I think there was a cream cheese frosting incorporated, because the tang was unlike any tiramisu I've ever had. It was honestly that good. All in all, a great experience. I plan on going back again and again. I definitely would recommend that they start a happy hour there--- so much potential with a great bar area, a patio outside, and those delicious little pizzas. I think that could be a gold mine.

Ciao! As a student who spent 6 months in Rome, Italy, eating and drinking my way through the country, it's extremely difficult to find Italian food that at the first bite, transports me back into the heart of Italy like Salotto's. I had the pleasure of dining for my birthday, Easter Brunch and we are headed back for Mother's Day. It's extremely rare for my family to fall in love with a place like we have fallen in love with Salotto. Anything and everything is good! We haven't tried their pizza yet only because we decided to eat and drink our way through the rest of the menu first. It's a beautiful setting and the style supports any type of dress from jeans to cocktail. As a family we highly recommend the pastas, Italian Bloody Mary's, and all appetizers and the homemade chocolate cake and the Italian doughnuts. And of course, the homemade limoncello!! Thank you Salotto's for transporting me back to Italy, each time we eat here, it is a wonderful opportunity to share memories of my trip and to celebrate new family memories and events! Grazi Mille to the owner and staff for a wonderful and authentic experience, each and every time.

My wife and I have visited Salotto Zarletti 4 times since they opened 2 weeks ago. We were willing to accept whatever growing pains a new restaurant would experience, however, so far there are none. We have tried everything from the Diavalo pizza to the Veal meatballs and Calamari, which my wife claims, are the best she's ever had. The wood fired pizzas are wonderful. The bartenders and waitstaff are very friendly and professional. We also really enjoy the atmosphere, great bar with good TV's. Salotto Zarletti is a very welcome addition to the North Shore.

Disappointing. Eggplant dish was greasy. Chicken dish was dry. Rigatoni seemed like it was out of the box. Wait staff rushed us. Meal was WAY overpriced. Don't be tempted by location and reputation.

Came in last night for a meal with the bf. The dining room downstairs was full, so we were seated upstairs in what would normally be their function room. It had a full bar which was awesome for getting quick drinks. Started with a glass of sparking wine, a beer and their appetizer of homemade mozzarella with toasted bread. It was decadent! The bread was hot and salty, and the cheese was so fresh and creamy. I had the half roasted chicken with polenta cakes and rosemary chicken jus. It was a great portion! The polenta cakes were very yummy and had a biscuit flavor which I enjoyed. The chicken was tender and delicious. The bf got the hangar steak. For $26, the portion was incredibly small and came with no sides! The portion of the meat would have been okay if it had more sides. The flavor was lovely, though. We finished with panna cotta and gelato with espresso over the top. Both were delicious! We really enjoyed the food here, and the atmosphere was lovely (besides being a bit chilly inside). We are glad we ventured out of Milwaukee to try this new Italian restaurant! We will be going back.

Ive been here a handful of times for both lunch and dinner. The lunch menu is a bit more compact and really highlights the pizzas and sandwiches that come out super quick. The dinner menu gets a little more in-depth that really focuses on various pastas and meat dishes. Of course, the pizza still has a whole dedicated page - it does only take 90 seconds once it is made to cook in the crazy hot wood burning oven. Upstairs there is a dedicated room with a bar for special events that overlooks the downstairs. This space used to be an outdoor retailer so it was interesting to see what they did with the space - they did a great job making it flow as a restaurant. There are 2 TVs over the bar and then there is a "lounge" that has two sofas and another large TV over a fireplace. This is a great place to have a drink and wait for your table to open up. The bar seats around 20 people and wraps around. There are bar height tables that you can eat at in the "lounge" area. There are booths that line that one wall when you enter and the lighting is a bit dim here. Once you get to the other side of the restaurant they have tables to sit 4-6 people with old kitchen fixtures that are a great touch. This is a great addition to the Mequon area for eating. The pizzas are all really good and unique. The few pasta dishes that I've had are also really good. The arranchcini (fried risotto balls with cheese in the middle) are an awesome app to start with. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you work or live in the area.

Love the space. I came early and ordered to go from the bar. The bartender was outstanding, friendly, knowledge. Ordered the Italian Manhattan (great). I ordered two items, the burratta with grilled bread and the Valota Pizza, which is very spicy pizza. I live spicy, but I have a feeling it may be a bit two spicy for the average Wisconsinite. Don't change it, it was perfect for me. Getting the food too a little bit longer than expected, but I was in no rush. This is a "no brainer" for Mequon. Its the best place to have a nice dinner, with nice ambience. Tops in Mequon!

Five stars is hard to come by me. I give it to them not only because of the good food, but the great service. In fact when we had a problem with our order it was addressed right away. I am blown away by their hospitality and professionalism that is lacking in so many great restaurants. For that I will always come back. This place will remain one of my favorite hot spots in the MKE area! If that doesn't convince you, I even know my favorite waitresses name there Rosie--and if you know me, I can never remember names! Their wine selection is to die for. Every one I've tried has had a wonderful bouquet and taste. My favorite on the menu is the Apple Gorgonzola Pizza. It has blue cheese crumbles, nuts and the perfect tarte taste that comes from when you bite into the hot green sliced apples. Delicious! The best part is that it will fill you up but won't make you feel like a million pounds afterwards. A great place to go with a very close friend or if your looking for something romantic but still not overdoing it for a second date.

When we arrived, we saw that the dining room was only half full. We were told that there were no tables as everything was booked for 6:30, but that we could sit at the bar. It took 3 employees at the host's stand to figure this out. We took a seat there and noticed as 6:30 passed by, the restaurant was still mostly empty. Our bartender was nice, but our food was just so-so. The salmon was good, but my husband's carbonara was mediocre. We were brought bread plates, but no bread. We were shocked when the bill arrived. The glasses of wine were $10 each, which seemed a bit steep given the small pours and the fact we weren't ordering top shelf. All in all, if I'm going to pay $85 +gratuity for a meal with no appetizer, salad, or high end wine, I could think of 100 other places to go.

Went with a small group for brunch, and it was just ok. We started with the Salted Caramel Monkey Bread and each in our group ordered a breakfast panini. Nothing really had great flavor. The monkey bread tasted like a regular old sticky bun...just a thin drizzle of mascarpone and a few chopped pistachio, neither of which brought anything to the dish. $9 for a small sticky bun that I could have gotten across the street at Panera twice the size and better flavor for half as much, less the tip. My panini arrived toasted and crunchy on the top, damp and soggy on the bottom. The chile aioli was completely unnoticeable as in no flavor. Really, no flavor. The accompanying potatoes were bland and tasteless. There were a few very very tiny bell peppers mixed in, but not enough to add flavor. They were not salted either, so just imagine frozen browned potato wedges plain. How can you mess that up?? There were no condiments, salt/pepper...anything on the tables (outside), nor was any offered. Service was fine, no complaints there. But since I went for the food I am compelled to leave two stars, which is still somewhat generous.

So happy Salotto moved to the neighborhood. There are not many options in Mequon for lunch-and 0 restaurants appropriate for client entertaining, until Salotto ! I put in a large take out order at 10:50am (10 pizza's and 8 salads) and was surprised to hear the server say they would be ready by 11:30am. WHAT? AWESOME! The pizza and salads were ready to go when we arrived. I tried 3 of the several we ordered: Padrino-was surprised to find it wasn't my favorite- too salty Diavola-crumbled spicy sausage, very good. my favorite was the Prosciutto con Rucola-WOW! fresh mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto-definitely would order that again. While the pizza was good-I think the pear salad was my absolute favorite-arugula with goat cheese, thick cut cubed pancetta and walnuts. If you like pears and goat cheese you will LOVE this salad. Welcome to the neighborhood Salotto!

Born and raised in Mequon, I've never been a big fan of any of the dining experiences in this city, but this place just changed the game. As a remake of the old Lackee and Joys, the structure is beautiful with high ceilings, cream-city brick and wood decor. I felt like I was at a hip new place on the East Side. This was a good feeling for a Mequon joint. Our server Jeremy was incredibly knowledgable about the menu, but also friendly and laid back. We ordered a bottle of red he recommended, all three of us ladies tried the pear salad to start and my friends had pizza and I ordered the mussels. The pear salad was tasty, a bit bland on the dressing, but in that healthy, intentional way. And arugula does the bod good. My girlfriend's pizzas were really tasty with a perfectly textured crust. My mussels were served out of the shell and cold so I did not enjoy the texture or the experience as a bowl of shelled mussels drowning in broth. The prices were reasonable, but the serving portions were small (for salads and starters) Over all, the ambiance and the service (along with my fabulous company of ladies) really sold me on this place. I would recommend it to anyone up in the north burbies and would absolutely go back for pizza and wine. Cheers to the hipper side of Mequon!

I wish half stars were available because I would give Zarletti's a 3.5. It was better than a three, but not quite a four. We waited for a table and grabbed drinks at the bar. I ordered my go-to drink, an old fashioned, but it wasn't anything to write home about. It was also $10 which I thought was overpriced for the area and venue. They didn't have seating downstairs so we sat at a table upstairs. The upper area felt too open and not cozy enough for two person tables. We started with the arancini and shared the Ravioli del Giorno and a special tagliolini. The appetizer was flavorful and fried to a beautiful, golden brown crisp. The ravioli was the favorite. They have a robust wine selection with knowledgable servers. Overall, I thought the food, service and atmosphere were above average. It is a nice option for those looking for an upscale (ish) restaurant with good food without having to drive to downtown Milwaukee.

Eventually, I will get around to having some entrees here, but this is one of my favorite happy hour spots for meeting up with girlfriends! If you go for happy hour, order a few appeteizers to share. The burrata... wow. Get it with prosciutto. Only complaint is that we didn't get enough bread to finish it and left some cheese behind. The rice balls (arancini) are delicious, although sometimes they can be a little salty. The meat on the inside is flavorful and the rice balls are a good size. This could definitely serve as an entree if you feel so inclined. The focaccia with fried egg is light and flavorful. Definitely break the yolk and dip the bread in it! The handful of times I've been in, the restaurant has been pretty quiet. I sure hope that's not the case all the time because this restaurant is so badly needed in Mequon. Sometimes service can be slow if they're crowded but if you go early enough, you shouldn't have a problem.

I'm am not sure I can eat here any more. The food is just average but the waitresses are more concerned about wearing revealing clothing than providing a quality experience. It seems as though the manager encourages this behavior. This place is vastly overrated.

I REALLY wanted to like this place. Mequon needs better places to eat. The look of the place is great. I am not sure anything can be done about it but it is very loud. We ordered three dishes. My son had a spicy diavolo pizza and it was very good. My wife had the swordfish special and it too was very good. The swordfish was prepared perfectly. I chose the Curry Risotto...disaster! Way too many flavors going on and they all don't compliment each other very well. The dish was cooked correctly I just can't believe they have this item on the menu. At the end of the meal I ordered a Cappuccino...every Italian place should make a good one...Right??? Wrong!!! Worst one I've ever had. Again, why would they serve this? If you can't do it right, then don't do it. To start, the service was slow but then got better. The idea of the floor managers with the headsets on is a good idea. Someone just needs to tell them not to stand right next to a table of diners and call out "Table 7 needs bussing" or "Table 9 needs water". Can they not walk ten feet away so as to not cut into dinner conversation??? Not that hard! I am going to give this place another shot. Hopefully they improve

Overall decent. Food was excellent, ambience left a little something to be desired for me. Had a little bit of an Olive Garden vibe to me. Our server was training with another person, so she was diligent and eager but a good ways away from being good at her craft. Again though, the food was a knockout. Really good. Wish they would put some of that focus in the front of house.

Was very excited to try Salotto Zarletti. I live in the area and would love to have a new 'regular' spot. Decent wine selection, which was great. Ordered pizza - didn't care for the blackened/burned bottom. It took away from the ingredients on top. Our server was a nice guy, but in serious need of training. When he took my friend's salad plate, he removed her fork and knife and put them on the table top!?! EW! How about either getting fresh ones, or putting utensils on the bread plate?? He did a terrible job clearing used glasses, beer bottles, empty plates...by the time we were having coffee at the end of the meal there was a mess left all over our table (empty bread basket, empty dishes, empty glasses and bottles) - not very relaxing or elegant feeling at all. Salmon came with spinach and snap peas - an odd veg. combo to say the least. The spinach was inedible - a pile of stems. The waiter even noticed it and commented - said he would show the chef. We never heard any more about it.

We went here for Father's Day dinner, getting a same day reservation at 5pm (because later times were booked). The decor was quite nice. We, a family of 4 plus a Nana, sat in a booth with two chairs on the end or a reasonably sized table. The patio looked nice, but it had been raining off and on. They don't bring you bread, but if you ask, they will bring you some. (Would be nice if they informed you or just offered it...) The party had two pizzas, a pear salad, steak, and spaghetti and veal meatballs, which is not on the menu, but will be made for you. The meatballs, for my son, had a little kick (spice) to it, so my son was not a fan. The pasta sauce had the same spice, but not as severe. He ate the pasta and enjoyed the bread. The salad was lunch size and well prepared (a little bigger portion would be nice). The pizza is on the chewy size with blackened crisping underneath here and there. I enjoyed it, but the wife did not like the blackened parts. She said she liked the crispy pizza at Zaffiro's better (by Marcus Movie Theater). The steak, served medium rare, was probably the best dish. For 5, we spent $99 (not including the tip). Service was good, keeping drinks filled. It is a good addition to the North Shore. I would recommend the place for a special occasion or a nice evening meal. It's a little pricey to be considered casual dining, such as at HIghland House. I'll have to try the place for lunch...

Finally got to try this new and welcome addition to Mequon. Didn't have reservations but was able to sit at a table in the bar which was just fine. The decor reminded me of some of the restaurants in Italy: lots of brick and tastefully decorated. I couldn't hear the music, but I hope it was Italian. One complaint would be the three televisions in the bar. Just ruins the atmosphere. The wine list looked very interesting so my guest and I started with a glass of wine. The poured wine didn't look like it measured up to 5 oz. At $9/glass I would say this was a skimpy pour. We each ordered a salad. I had the pear, arugula and pancetta salad. It was a substantial salad and quite good. My guest had the house salad which he also enjoyed. Next, we each ordered a pizza. He ordered the Siciliana, and I ordered the Burrata Roberto. His was cooked to perfection, mine was very runny in the middle. I had to eat it with a fork and knife because it was impossible to pick up. I suspect it may have been the creaminess of the burrata topping. My crust was a bit more charred than I like. However, the crust and the other toppings were glorious--so fresh. Finally, we opted to share the tiramisu--a nice sized portion to split. Very creamy and quite delicious. I had the leftover pizza the next day; it was just as satisfying.

My wife and I dined her on a Thursday night in July and it was busy. We were greeted right away and seated within a few minutes. Our server was friendly and was knowledgable on the menu and wine list and answered all of our questions. We started with the housemade stuffed focaccia, and thought it was average, lacked flavor and taste. Reminded me of frozen garlic bread you would find at the grocery store and throw in the oven, not impressed. Next we split a Caesar and again just ok nothing to really write home about, the dressing was decent just a bit on the bland side for my liking. We also had some of thier fresh bread with Olive oil for dipping, and we could tell right away it was homemade and just came out of the oven, it was great! Next came the entrees, my wife had the margherita pizza and thought it was good, fresh mozzarella and basil, the sauce was a little sweet for our liking but still fresh and tasty. I had the risotto verde that inclued fresh vegetables, pine nuts, and shrimp and this was out of the is world awesome!! this was one of the better rissotto dishes I've had in a long time, a lot of love was put into this entree and I could tell that from the frist bite to the last. Service was good, he was attentive yet not overbearing by any means. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff appeared to be on top of things. We will return and try different apps and maybe skip the salad. On a side note, we ran into some friends there and next time we talked to them asked them what they thought, and they said some of the best they've had in a long time!

Excellent Food -- like being back in Italy! Servers were attentive, but still working out the kinks of a new open. I'd like to see more wines by the glass offered; not everyone is going to share a bottle of wine. Pastas were delicious. The Burrata is out of this world. Veal appetizer was delicious. Not enough room to try the pizzas, but they looked & smelled amazing. Will definitely return to try them. Really not a kids place, although that didn't stop people from bringing kids.

S-Zarletti is a work in prwogress, but bound to get better as the kitchen definitely has levels of seriousness about it. As an example, the pizza selections are well designed; the dough/baking howver, needs some attention. The edges could be larger and more puffy, and the body of the dough more crispy on the bottom so it does not become soggy in 5 minutes. My salad was one of the best ever--perfectly dressed. Servers need a body language upgrade--not looking so bored--smiles do everything, and pushy up-selling is distracting and off-setting. Short wine list is well conceived and much appreciated; store those overnight bottles with a pressure vacu-vin--nobody should be served old, corked wine--and over 12 hours is old! I would recommend this restaurant and encourage support for their development.

I've never actually eaten here. I tried, really tried, to set up my rehearsal dinner here. I called and left at least four messages, both with actual people and over voicemail, and sent multiple emails to Angie which were never returned. They have a $1,000 minimum for a party of my size, which I was willing to spend, but they must not need the business.

I had the opportunity to enjoy this restaurant for the first time on a recent Tuesday night with a friend. We both enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We started with a bottle of wine. We both prefer a pinot noir and there was only one to choose from so that made it easy. I have had better and worse. We shared the perfectly dressed chopped salad. At $13, I would assume it would feed more than one, and it did. It could have been a meal with the complimentary bread and oil. Since pizzas are half price on Tuesdays, we ordered two. Both the Margherita with sausage and the Del Re were delicious. The crust is thick and doughy. I'm usually a thin and crispy girl, but I really enjoyed these pies. We had lunch the next day too. I know I'll be back.

The pizzas and apps are amazing, the entrees are o.k. Would suggest going for the Diavlo pizza. I wish they would bring back the prosciutto/cheese appetizer to dinner! I was told it was switched over to "lunch only". Great atmosphere downstairs, upstairs is more secluded but still nice. Would definitely go back!

We went here for date night on a Friday. We were really pleased. Our server, Brandon, was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine, and he was extremely friendly without being "in your face". He checked in with us the perfect number of times. (The only weird thing was a manager (or someone) who was wandering around peering at customers and tables without saying anything. I don't know if she was doing evaluations of the waitstaff or what, but it was very obvious and a bit awkward.) We had appetizer, entrees, a side, dessert and wine. Though the portions could be a little larger, everything tasted excellent. We loved the atmosphere and the decor. Perfect for date night, but also for GNO or even a family gathering. We will DEFINITELY be back!!!!

My husband and I ate at Salotto this past weekend and had a very different experience then the previous diner's reviews. We ordered the beef carpaccio to start, which was very good and as it turned out the highlight of our meal. I had the arugula, pear, goat cheese and walnut salad. There was plenty of pear and arugula but only about a tablespoon of goat cheese and two walnuts. The dressing was there but tasteless. My husband had the Caesar salad which he thought was ok but also bland. We ordered two pizzas for our main the SICILIANA and the PROSCIUTTO, neither had enough cheese or sauce making the pizza dry. The waiter/ staff were great and we had a nice glass of Cabernet. We'll give the restaurant another try because we love Zarlettis but at this time I can only give it three stars.

I won't rush back. The pasta dish was over salted and I was overcharged for my cocktail.

We went here for an early New Year's eve dinner. We had a few drinks at the bar, which was very nice with a good staff. When we were seated, we noticed the table next to us being served their entrees after only having their salads for about two minutes so I quickly told our server that we were in no hurry. (I should add here that the restaurant was damn near empty at this time given the early reservation on NYE.) I ordered the lobster bisque from their specials. It was horrible. So bad, in fact, that it is the first time in my life that I can recall sending food back. It was so incredibly oversalted, watery, tasted little of lobster and had the very odd touch of many pistachios in it. The busboy took it (after asking me what it was) when I told him that I wasn't trying to be rude but it was really inedible. We had to ask twice for some bread during our salad/soup course (after having had an appetizer as well). For an entree, I ordered the scallops because both the waitress and the bartender had raved about them. After having them, I have to think the staff has never had good scallops before. They were fine, but covered in what I think was crushed peanuts and fennel (all very powerful flavors that have no business on something as delicate as a scallop, in my opinion). I scraped off the top and they were average. My husband had an excellent homemade pasta dish. At no point did our waitress even acknowledge, much less apologize for the bisque situation, although it was taken off the bill. I was not impressed with the depth of the wine list and I found the service to be lacking, if not downright odd (there was a manager walking around talking loudly into a headset or something the whole time reporting what every table was doing; it was weird). Given the good reviews for this place, I think you're probably best to stick to their homemade pastas and possibly pizzas (although we didn't try that). I get the impression that although they might have good seafood and fish, they have no idea what to do with it. Overall, it was a really disappointing dinner.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
