I was surprised at how much I enjoyed my patty melt here. From the outside & inside it doesn't look like much but my patty melt was pretty darn good. The sour cream & chive fries don't suck either.

We went there on the recommendation of my brother's co-workers, saying all fish frys are measured by this one. We were seated fairly quickly, and ordered an appetizer with our dinner. Just your basic fried cheese curds with ranch dip. Very tasty! We also ordered the fried cod with potato pancakes. I'm glad they don't claim the potato pancakes are home made, the perfectly shaped patties come out of a package, obviously. But they had good flavor. Our dinner seemed to take a long time, and to add to the irritation, several people who came in after us were served before us. I remarked ours took longer because they had to keep putting our potato pancakes back in the toaster. In all, I was satisfied, and would go back. Nice casual atmosphere and reasonable prices.

The food is hit or miss depending on who is cooking that night. It seems like its a different person every time for some reason. The fish fry is good, and the bartenders are great. The owner is extremely unprofessional- is usually drunk and goes up to customers and eats the food off their plates (who does that?)

Thanks yelpers , I almost bought a groupon for this place... Decided against the drive to go there after reading yelp. You would think these places would do everything In thier power to avoid these bad reviews since there are so many places to choose to eat. The gift certificate reviewer was something else. Had the owner touched me that way she would have been facing some charges.

Their ads claim they have the "best damn fish fry in Ozaukee County." How could I resist? I ventured out and was surprised at how small the dining room was. From the outside, this looked like a much larger venue. I went right after work so I was lucky enough to get a table, although the place was already busy. I ordered the seafood combo so I could try the cod and the perch for $14.50. The AUCE cod would have been a much better value at $12.00. The combo came with two cod "fish sticks," two small pieces of perch and two pieces of fantail shrimp that looked like they came from the freezer of a grocery store. All three were breaded and deep fried. The fish was ok. I appreciated that it wasn't beer battered, but that's about all I could appreciate. One of the shrimp had a slightly gritty texture. That's not good. The biggest disappointment was the "potato pancakes." I was expecting homemade potato pancakes for the "best damn fish fry in Ozaukee County." These were patties that I've seen frozen in grocery stores. Really? The cole slaw may have been the highlight. It was creamy, but I doubt it was home made. It arrived in a small bowl topped with plastic containers of tarter sauce, cocktail sauce for the shrimp and applesauce from a jar or can for the "potato pancakes." I thought to myself, "I hope those plastic containers are sanitary or they're spreading germs on my cole slaw right now." Ozaukee County, I sure as heck hope you have better fish fries than this, and I don't mean Fish Day! No more Ozaukee County fish fries for me, thank you.

My boyfriend and I went to Laura's a Donges Bay club house for the first time last night. I had a gift certificate to use, and when I presented it, the waitress told me that they were not accepting those specific certificates anymore. She informed me that the reason why they were not accepting these is because there were too many people duplicating the certificates, thus they were losing money. This particular certificate had a certificate number on it to redeem and also had a barcode to scan. I was confused why they would not have had a way of keeping track of each certificate number, to ensure that they were not getting duplicates. We had traveled to this restaurant from our home, which was about 30 minutes away. I asked to speak to an owner regarding the certificate and my concerns with it not being able to get redeemed. The owner came up to me in a fast and brash manner. She would not let me get a word in edgewise and she informed me that they would not accept these. After I shared my concerns regarding the fact that this was our first time there and that we had driven a distance to come there. She then proceeded to touch my shoulder rubbing into my muscle and told me that I did not drive far at all, and people come from all over to come to her restaurant. She then proceeded to tell me that I paid for the certificate so it is not even worth it for me to use it, which is not true, as I had received it as a gift and someone else had paid for it. My boyfriend and I ended up leaving the restaurant in disappointment. The owner and staff did not seem to value the motto of "the customer is always right" and they definitely did not care that they lost our business. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for good customer service. The food prices were also quite high for a bar like setting,

Meh, their adds and website make the bar look like a lot more than it actually is!! Now, I did not have their fish fry, but I heard that they are pretty good...they looked and smelled good!! I went there for happy hour with a couple of coworkers, and they have great drink specials, but it is VERY LOUD, and REALLY OLD SCHOOL!!!! Their bathrooms were also a little dirty and no paper towel was available! As a young female, I would also NOT GO THERE ALONE...there are some scary drunkards at that bar!!
