Simply Awesome! The steak and shrimp, as well as walleye were done to perfection. Will definitely be back. Be sure to get a reservation.

Food is great. The chicken is my favorite, the honey they use makes it so good. Can't go wrong with any of the main courses. Downside is besides the meat option you don't have choices. Soup, salad, veggies and dessert are always the same. Would be nice to have variety. Same goes for the "show". Cool to see the first time or two, however in 10+ years it hasn't changes, time to spice it up chefs! Overall worth the money.

my other review was removed... i wonder why? the service is fine, the "thrill" of watching the chefs cook is fine, but the food is hit and miss. the soup is clear broth with almost no flavor. the salad is anemic. don't serve unripe tomatoes. However, the veggies were good. The shrimps, excellent. The "filet mignon" was pretty tough for filet mignon. Yes, Royal Tokyo is one of the more interesting restaurants in Marshfield, but here's my suggestion. Served miso soup as an automatic starter. Bump up the quality/tenderness of the steak. Add less honey to the chicken option so it's not cloyingly sweet. Overall, I'm hesitant to return..

I have heard quite a bit about this restaurant from Co workers and friends. I took a plunge after a bad hibachi experience in Tennessee, which turned me off completely to hibachi, mandarin, and Oriental food in general. UNTIL NOW. My friend, Eric, from Minnesota came to visit for his birthday when he also was suggested Royal Tokyo from a mutual friend of his. 2 full stove/tables when we first walked in. I got to tell ya, I felt really underdressed walking into this place. But the employees and even the other customers didn't seem to mind. The gentlemen at the front desk asked if we had a reservation to which we replied we are just walk ins. He said it will be just a moment; and a moment it was. Sitting on the lush couches, in the compact yet tasteful waiting area for no longer than 3 minutes, and we had seats at the hibachi. I was astonished. The Japanese beer I order was bottled and tasted exquisite, along with the shot of Sake they brought out for my friends birthday. They made a very big deal about us being first time customers; meaning they thanked us numerous times, asked us how we liked the restaurant so far, and even comped a few small fees. The Chef, Tony, was magnificent. I barely ever see Eric smile around people, but he had a look on his face that would make a blind man see. The Chef's personal skills are off the charts, a quick hand and amazing reaction time to boot. The food was absolutely amazing, yet the appetizers of soup and salad had me half full before the main course came, but even the leftovers were delicious. The bill was surprising no more than $70. Which for the service, atmosphere, friendly attitudes, and Grade-A food, is the best bang for your buck in Marshfield. My father's birthday is coming up next month and I can't wait to take him to this absolute Dime Piece of an establishment. 5/5 hibachi lovers out there? I absolutely recommend Royal Tokyo.

My family and I love royal tokyo! THE best steak I've ever had. The service is wonderful, the Food is amazing, and Chef Tony is awesome. always a fun show. Every time we go there we are greeted by name. Very friendly atmosphere. The food may seem a little pricy but for the amount you get it's hands down WORTH IT.

I ordered two California rolls, which tasted really weird and the rice is not the way Japanese rice is made. I also tried the chicken and shrimp teppanyaki. chicken was very strange.....It had butter and maple syrup mixed with soy sauce. I have no idea where the idea came from. I am guessing it is a Marshfield thing? I probably won't be going back unless I go with a group of friends and they decide to choose that place.

Ate here with some colleagues last week. Its a small place. They can probably seat 20 - 25 at a time. But the decor is nice. And the wait is very friendly. I tried their teppanyaki style sliced lamb. Its a 5-course meal for under $20. And it is pretty filling. The quality of the lamb used was pretty good. And the fried banana was amazing. Will definitely go back next time I am in Marshfield.

Royal Tokyo has been a favorite of mine for years. I have yet to find a better option anywhere, and to think that it is in a small town in Wisconsin. Yes, it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for! And you won't leave hungry. Your dinner may be between $15 and $30 a piece, but that is a five course meal. You get miso soup, a wonderful salad, rice with amazing mustard sauce, your entree and dessert. Hopefully your dessert for the night is the fried bananas, these will knock your socks off! Their sushi is also good. It is not what you would expect from Wisconsin. Royal Tokyo has excellent wait staff, which happen to now include some old friends of mine. While Royal Tokyo may not be a weekly habit for most, it is a great show with some of the best people. The cooks are funny and you will make new friends at your table!

Royal Tokyo is a great restaurant and excels in the Japanese-style steak house genre. I have been there many times and their food has never disappointed me. Chef/entertainer Tony exhibits great skill and personality, and manager "Q" keeps things running smoothly and deals with customers with a very refined manner. Their Teppanyaki-style filet mignon is excellent, and I like to pair it up with the filet of Rex Sole, which is steamed on the grill with julienned ginger and onion and topped with Teppanyaki sauce. A unique flavor and the Sole melts in your mouth!

...my other review got filtered? Anyway...hands down, Royal Tokyo is my favorite restaurant in town. Now that my kids are older, they also enjoy going here. Tony and TJ are great chefs and put on a great show for the patrons of the restaurant. The meals come with salad, soup, shrimp, meat, veggies and desert. Believe me...you want to come hungry! They also sell the miso sauce in togo containers...my sister comes over from Stevens Point just for the miso! :)

Delicious! My boyfriend and I both had the steak and shrimp and it was to die for! Our chef was Tony, he was funny, and he was very entertaining. The food was SO filling, we both had to get a box! This was a great value, if you go to the Twin Cities for this genre, even caliber of food, you're going to pay approximately $50 a plate. Great service, value, and quality eats.

One can never go wrong with a Japanese Hibachi Grill. The tall hats, fire, and cling/clanging alone is enough entertainment to make any meal enjoyable. Add in some sake and alcohol, and you might never want to leave. Royal Tokyo reflects the same spirit and candor that makes most of these places a joy to visit. The food is pretty darn good too! Worth a try!

Excellent seafood. I hear the sushi's pretty good (but I usually don't eat sushi). A very entertaining dinner - the chef's make the food right in front of you and put on a great show!
