Had tuna tar-tar. Not the best approach to raw tuna as it has a crust. Had salad (okay), filet (good, not excellent), and twice baked potato (nice). Smaller, intimate local nice for mid-sized town.

A lot has changed about this place, unfortunately. My last few visits have soured me and I likely will not go back again. The food quality and quantity has gone downhill. They've skimped on ingredients for their signature Fried Cheese Raviolis, leaving me quite disappointed. The nice little extras like warm bread before the meal seem to have disappeared. To top that off... The service is intolerable. The waitstaff appeared bored/distracted and made many errors, despite the restaurant not being busy. When they are packed, there is no logical place for guests to wait for their table, so it seems like hungry vultures are eyeing your food as you dine, whcih certainly doesn't add to the experience. Parking is, and always has been, a nightmare. There are, at best, 6 off-street parking spots available and they always seem to be taken (possibly by staff?) even when the place is empty. I had really high hopes for this place, but have been let down again. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I wish I could tell you where, but a non-chain local alternative eludes me at the moment. *sad face*

My girlfriend and I first found this little gem of a restaurant about six months ago and have come back numerous times since. Always a great meal, I even tried the Kangaroo Cutlets this past visit and they were ok. Stuffed Halibut, Jalapeno Spiked Filet, Chef's Choice, Tuna, all have been just fantastic. This is a pretty regular stop for us and will continue to be.

Been here on 3 different occasions and I haven't personally been let down on any dish. First off, the current menu featured on here is not the menu Twisted Cuisine is serving right now. The food changes seasonally so check with the restaurant for the latest selections. The restaurant has a cool vibe. I definitely recommend sitting in the front of the restaurant (street side) if you're looking for a hip, lively feel or reserve a table in the back dining room for a more subdued atmosphere (its away from the bar). Food has been incredible. The stuffed halibut is to die for, twice baked potatoes homemade (no frozen hockey pucks reheated), and the scallops with bacon potato hash (they call it ragout I think) are the best I've ever had. There is only one dish I would not recommend and that's the lobster mac my friend ordered. If you order it, be prepared to literally receive a bowl of mac and cheese with a lobster tail (half shell still attached) sitting on top. It looked, well, like a lazy approach to what could be an incredible dish. No one should have to take apart lobster, then cut it up, and then mix it in for a restaurant of this caliber and price point. Twisted is better than that. Other than that advice, enjoy! Expect great service and some true culinary adventures!

Not nearly as good as it used to be. The last time I went my fish was so overcooked it was not even edible. I would have sent it back but I was with a large group and knew everyone else would have been done eating by the time I got my next plate so I just ate the mashed potatoes and vegetables which were good, as usual. This place seems to have gone downhill in the past few years. After they expanded into the back room it seems like they're not able to keep up and so the quality was the first thing to go. The menu is also starting to get a little ridiculous; it seems that they're going for the shock value instead of just sticking to what's good. Nobody needs exotic meats like alligator, kangaroo, etc. Just stick to the basics, add your twist, and do it right. At this point, I can often cook a similar meal at home for a lot cheaper and usually a lot better. I know the chef is talented but when she's not the one doing the actual preparation the quality is seriously lacking. I was also seriously disappointed when they stopped serving lunch. There are very few places on the east side of town where you can get lunch, this was one of them and is no longer. I suppose that's for the better, though, since it was often difficult to get in and out (and back to work downtown which is about 3 minutes away) within an hour even when it was slow. This used to be my favorite local restaurant and is no longer on the list of those I would suggest to go to. So disappointing.

Twisted cuisine is so far out of touch with reality---the chef and owner need to sit down and eat the food that comes out of the kitchen and truly evaluate the quality and concept. If that fails. They should all quit. We had six friends for dinner, ordered twenty dishes, and were appalled at the disgusting food that came from the kitchen. Nearly everything was over-salted, the flavor profiles were completely off the mark, and we all left the dinner wishing for food that had some pleasing flavor to wash down the filth we were served. Like Arby's. Or dead cat. My worst culinary dreams are haunted by better food than this restaurant. Mcdonalds and jiffy lube, getting drunk and hooking up, would birth a restaurant better than this. Avoid it at all costs, and beg your friends to do the same. Send your enemies here, though, it may kill them.

What we had: The Clam Linguine special (with Shrimp instead, because they were out of clams) The Mussels appetizer The Filet Mignon special 2 Drink specials (Sangria and a fresh mango muddled drink) Cost: Luckily we had a $50 Milwaukee Perks coupon, because it was WAY overpriced for what we got. Overall about $85 Impression: I'm going to piggy back off of a lot of other Yelper's comments... this is a bar pretending to be an upscale restaurant. It WANTS to cater to foodies and the like, but misses the mark entirely. The cocktails were good, however the Sangria lacked fresh fruit (isn't that the point of Sangria?)... The food sounds enticing and seems high class, but is really a bunch of badly cooked store bought crap. The seafood in my pasta was overcooked and rubbery, and the sauce was nothing but oil and there wasn't even enough of that. The flavor of the mussels was good, but it's kind of hard to screw up mussels Italiana, however I opened at LEAST 4 shells to no mussel inside. The steak was beyond infuriating -- it came as another person said "seared on the outside and blood red cold on the inside" as medium rare. We sent it back and it was clear as day that the ENTIRE plate had gone in Chef Mike (the microwave) and sent back out. There was blood all over the plate, the "butter compote" on top was melted and the mashed potatoes drizzly at best. This was irritating as hell. Had we not had the coupon - we would have sent it all back and walked out. I would like to think the chef is straight out of culinary school trying his best, but honestly I think he is pretentious and delusional. There's a Hell's Kitchen sticker hanging over the door to the kitchen with the H and two L's scraped off (E's Kitchen) .... that right there answers my question. Somebody needs to WAKE UP as GR would put it. Good luck, we probably won't be back. Side note: Might also be better for the business owner to reply to negative reviews instead of only corresponding with those who provide positive feedback. Offer incentives to try again or at least an apology for a bad experience.

This is a bar pretending to be an upscale foodie joint. The rude locals stood at the bar next to our table so we had butts in our faces and could barely hear each other's conversation. Food was very mediocre. My sirloin was seared on the outside and cold blood red in the middle. Someone doesn't know how to cook a medium rare steak. There was also some mix up in the kitchen and we waited over an hour for our meal. People that came in after us were getting their food and already finishing up. Overall, it was awful and the waitress apologized over and over. We drove 5 hours in traffic and my husband didn't want to leave and go elsewhere but I had asked if we could just go. They ended up comp-ing our entire meal but I still won't be back. We at least left the server a $12 tip and I sent back my steak. Never again.

This place is a staple for my wife and I. Always something unique on the menu when you need to get away from the standard Kenosha meat and potatoes place. Service is always fast and responsive. The bananas foster is the best I've ever had.

My husband and I found a coupon ($40 for $20) which peaked my interest to check it out! Who doesn't love a good coupon... Am I right?!?! We made a reservation and were seated immediately by a friendly hostess! The atmosphere is the back room is much more dull than the front of house. Small chips in the paint and it was a it warm even with the air on. Tonja was our server and she was a ball of energy and great at her job! Her recommendations from the menu were on point and everything was cooked to perfection. One of the Chefs came out and checked on us as well.. Nice touch! The food presentation and taste was better than I could describe! We will definitely be back!!! Side note: grab a new cans of paint and spruce up the back room. -my only complaint

I love coming here. The staff are always a pleasure. My food is NEVER bad. It is so sad that so many people are absolute HATERS. Please veiw the majority of these 1 reviews as bogus. Tonight I had the fish fry... Soooo yummy! I had to put down 7 pieces of the silky all you can eat goodness. I HIGHLY recommend you give this fish fry a go! The new bartender Lexi even took my suggestion and had the fish fry on her first night, and as I was leaving she was enjoying it.

First time we visited, had a groupon. Went early in a Saturday because we heard they get busy. The lobster spinach dip was great. We had the salmon & flat iron sirloin, both were good. Menu changes every couple months according to the waiter. Had some specials.

I haven't been to Twisted Cuisine in a couple of years. I had a $25 certificate so we figured, why not let's go. It's Tuesday night, can't be busy. The last time the food was good. We arrived at 7:00, the dining room looked about a quarter full. We walked over to the hostess stand and told the fellow there, "two for dinner". He grabbed two menus went in the opposite direction and with a wave of the hand said," sit where ever you want". I thought, Geez, "high class place". We sat at a nice table in the front window. Nice cloth table cloths and cloth napkins. The waiter brought over our appetizer plates and water glasses. I thought, gee, cloth table clothes and napkins and he gave us really neat plastic cups of water with a straw. Not cool. The waiter took our drink orders and gave us the menus. He went on to explain that because they were busy, remember, a quarter full, they were out of three appetizers and New York strip. Really, New York strip, nobody would want to order that on Tuesday night. We ordered the Devilish Eggs appetizer, eggs with wasabi, red pepper and candied bacon. Sounds great. What we got was deviled eggs with red peppers and bacon bits". Probably not bacon bits, but even though I've never had candied bacon, this sure didn't taste any different than bacon bits. The waiter came over and asked if I wanted another drink. I said sure. Ten minutes later I went to the bathroom. Upon getting back to my table my wife said " I think I hear them shaking your drink, Five minutes latter I had my martini.. Not bad, 15 minutes for vodka and vermouth. Remember , only a quarter full. The hot bread and bean soup were fantastic. The bread we hot, crunchy and very tasty. The bean soup was extremely good. I could eat a gallon. I ordered Ahi Tuna with Cajun mango salsa. I ordered it medium. I had vegetables and rice pilaf as sides, $27. I got two large pieces of tuna seared on the outside, red on the inside. Perfect, but cold. The tuna tasted very fishy. Very fishy. The Cajun seasoning must have meant a little cayenne pepper sprinkled on the outside. Neat! The mango salsa was a few pieces of chopped mango thrown on top. Mango, but no salsa. The rice pilaf was very dry and flavorless. The vegetables were green beans and carrots. No butter, no juice. I made them edible by grabbing a butter pat from the bread basket. My wife ordered the fried cheese ravioli with artichokes, cream, sun dried tomatoe, and chicken. The artichoke, chicken and cream sauce tasted great. The ravioli were fried. They were fried to the point of no return. Everything thing tasted very good but the ravioli needed some work. Over fried but mushy on the inside. Maybe we were there on a bad night. The food previously was very good. Oh, by the way. While sitting at our nice table at the window, a women wearing an apron, walked by outside puffing on a cigarette. When we went to our car several of the kitchen staff were outside smoking and hanging around. A couple pieces of advice. Get rid of the plastic water glasses with the straw. Take down the pictures of the dirt track race cars. Not exactly high end. Get back to paying attention to the food detail like you did when you opened. I liked it then.

I've been here several times over the years and have always looked forward to getting something off the beaten path ie. rattlesnake, antelope, gator, crab stuffed filet mignon etc., the kind of fare one doesn't find just anywhere. I was a little let down this time; the only "weird" meat offered on the menu was kangaroo and I've already had that. I settled with the auce Friday fish fry. Don't get me wrong, this dish was great: light but crisp batter, perfectly flaky white fish paired with a delicious potato pancake and apple sauce, I liked it. But I wanted something out there, I wish they would keep more "twisted" options on the menu. The $80 for $40 groupon made the trip a win, I'd recommend checking for it. Restaurant was pretty busy at 7pm on a Friday night, definitely made sense to call for reservations. Service was good and they waited the right amount of time in between the starters and the meal allowing for an enjoyable time with friends.

We love Twisted!!!! Seasonal menu that my girlfriend looks up like the day it changes. I've had so many different items, from so many different cultures, and rare proteins, and odd pairings... It's breathtaking, really. I can't think of any one specific item, cuz there's always something new. I think we've had: kangaroo, elk, rattlesnake, gibbon, zebra, human, rhino, pterodactyl... The list really goes on and on, like an endangered species list. I kid. We really do love the place. Service is always excellent, and even on a packed night, with the noise and chaos, you're gonna have a wild ride down the twisted road of cuisine.

Very good food. The elk with blueberries was great. The service was good. In addition, there was a good kids menu. My only small issue is I wish they had tap beer, but beyond that I would recommended this restaurant to everyone.

We ordered the $35.00 rib eye and it came out of kitchen with our waitress not knowing which meat was medium and which was rare. After cutting into it, we still couldn't figure it out. Next the meat was old and and had an off taste. We sent it back and asked for our check. At that point our waitress was rude and very flip. I eat out quite often and have never done a bad review, until now.

One of our most exciting experiences is finding a restaurant that is exciting, affordable, and near. Kenosha is a blue-collar town that has been hoisting itself back on its feet since the car industry crash and the demise of the AMC motor plant on the lake. This city didn't used to be a place where you'd find innovative big-city chefs, but Twisted Cuisine is one of best we've found in the last few years. And luckily, it's close enough for us to enjoy more than once. Our first trip here was January 2014. I ordered the pheasant with Sweet Pepper Bacon, Panko Beer Batter, and Cranberry Glaze. My husband had the Long-Bone pork chop with blueberry, molasses, and scallion, a huge hunk of meat grilled just the way he likes it. One friend ordered Harvest Chicken with Pumpkin Butter, Bourbon and Pecans, a dish we were all considering. It was spectacular. My other friend ordered Venison Stroganoff with Kale Flower and Wild Mushroom Crème, and it was heavenly. I usually have trouble with the gamy flavor of venison, but one bite of his dinner made me want to snatch the plate off his side of the table. This was my favorite dish of the evening. One other thing I love is the gorgeous art hanging on the walls from local artists. They really support their community! We've been back many times since and the food is consistently good - and when we mention it to friends, they always talk about how much they love the place, too. I would say though that the place is always packed, and the servers seem to get a little overwhelmed. And I wish it was easier to park around there!

Well. We had a weird experience. The server was so bad by the end of our meal a couple had eaten payed and got up to leave that showed up 45 min after us!!!!!! When my wife's meal came out (stuffed halibut) the sweet potato was BAD!!! Tasted like a chemical was on it. They gave us that plate for free though so whatever. The halibut was really good. We will go back as long as we have the $40 groupon. Everything else was good

Wish I could give this a good review, but sadly I can't. (We ate here about 2 years ago and enjoyed it.). It became quickly obvious that our waitress was either overwhelmed, or she knew she was going to get a bigger tip from the loud table of 12 sitting next to us. Service was so slow! It took 15 minutes from when we got our menu to when she came back to take our order. It took 2 hours total from when we walked in the door to when we left. Did I say the service was extremely slow? The food tasted really good, but I was served chicken that was still raw in the center so I had to send the plate back. Also, I asked for crispy fries and they were cold and limp. (That's the true test for a restaurant for me... Can they get something as simple as fries cooked and served when they are still hot and fresh? Twisted Cuisine failed.). Everyone else's food was good, but again it took forever to get served. I will say this - they tried to make it right when they served me raw chicken, and gave us 2 free dessert. But they took almost 20 minutes to get from when we placed the order. Would we give them another try? Probably. Was it worth the poor service and wait? No.

Amazing food!! Menu is always changing and we can always find something that's new and different and always fantastic . It's a Very fun place to have cocktails and dinner for the two of us or to catch up with friends that have never been there and want to change it up from the norm...

  • Megan S.

This place is unfortunately going down hill. It used to be excellent but the last several times I've gone the food hasn't been that good and the menu is a little stale. Ordered the fish and it was still completely raw it the middle and inedible. I had to send it back. Too much of a hassle to make reservations and the ambiance really is bad especially if you sit up front. The back room is much better. For the price it's just not worth it anymore. They do make a killer key lime pie martini though.

We stopped in with a nice restaurant.com coupon on Saturday. Our reservation worked and we were seated immediately. That is where the prompt service ended. Though our waitress was very friendly and personable...the service was as slow as we have ever had. We had hoped to catch at least some of the hockey game after our 7:00 dinner..... Nope. Food was good all around but service was an issue..

Went in tonight (Saturday evening, no reservation) and were seated immediately. Waitress came over (LeAnn), was very friendly but not knowledgeable of the bar offerings. Ordered our meals and added twice baked potato to my selection. Salad and bread arrived quickly, and entrees soon after. My wife asked the waitress where my potato was and she looked dumbfounded. Told us she would be back in two minutes with it and the extra butter we asked for. Returned in seven minutes and told us that the kitchen staff dropped it. It was obvious by the look on her face that she was lying - she had simply forgotten to place the order. When she finally came out with the potato I was already finished with my meal. She seemed surprised that I no longer wanted the potato. Spoke with the manager (extremely nice, understanding and apologetic) and was told she would speak with the waitress. I suggested that she speak with the kitchen staff. I have never liked being lied to. If the waitress would have simply apologized for forgetting the potatoes no harm would have been done. Stuff happens. But to be so obviously lied to was intolerable. The food we did receive was very good and worth every penny. But I would not wish to be served by the same waitress. Would I recommend this place to my friends and/or return myself? Yes. But would request a different waitress. She did not even return to bring us the bill. The manager was awesome. Offered us dessert - We declined. But we did have a very nice conversation with her.

I wish I could give this place a 1/2 star!!! There's not a lot of fine dining places in Kenosha and it looked nice so I made a reservation. When we went in, the very rude hostess asked us " Do you mind the back room"? Well we were like, "ok, we've never been here so ok".... Well, she too us threw this smelly hall by the bathrooms and then through the kitchen to this awful back room. We sat down and she left and we were like..." This is gross, we cant sit in here!" It look like cheap furniture with brown walls with paint chipping everywhere. Totally uncomfortable and definitely not worth the dining prices on the menu. We asked to be in the front room and the hostess rude fully let us sit in the front room. Even the front room had paint marks on the walls and the art work was terrible!!!! Horrible wait staff. WORSE FOOD. The clam chowder tasted like from canned Campbell's watery soup with no clams in it. My salad actually looked wilted and old. My salmon dish was a frozen salmon with peas and salty mashed potatoes. My boyfriends dish was a frozen lobster with just average mac and cheese. ALL OVERPRICED. The cocktails are just as bad. I had a Margarita and it was not the best for the price and it was in a stupid cactus glass. I also had to move onto the dark and stormy and it came in even a worse glass that actually said "dark and stormy".... Really classy! How about the owners close down and sell to someone who knows how to serve good food and cocktails for a $100 meal for two. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, THIS IS JUST AN OVERPRICED APPLEBEES WITH RUDE HOSTESS/SERVERS/BAD FOOD/ BAD COCKTAILS AND BAD ATMOSTPHERE!!!! Oh and paring sucks there with everything else. People have no taste if they give this anything more than a 1.

Their swordfish and stake are my favorites. They have great atmosphere and service. We wife and I go there every time we have something to celebrate. They are well located, but during winter their parking I could be a little work as you may need to park across the street. However, it is worth the effort.

    (5)
  • Ed L.

We went there for a celebration and had food that was just OK. What really was the problem was the staff's unwillingness to provide good customer service. I incorrectly added up a total, giving $20 more of a tip than I intended to. This was reflected in the bill total and tip line (written $10) on the receipt. When I called realizing the mistake I made, the person on the phone was rude, uncaring, and said there was nothing they could do about it. The person wouldn't say whether the server received the extra unintended portion of the tip or if it went to the restaurant. What I intended to pay was obvious on the check, but they took advantage of the mistake with impunity and a lack of remorse. Businesses are supposed to value the repeat customer. So now that you know the restaurant's hard line policy on math, I hope this review will help you avoid the issue that I ran into. I won't run into the issue again, because they didn't seek my return visit.

My wife and I tried Twisted Cuisine last night for the first time. It was Thursday night and we were able to get a table quickly, there was a decent amount of other tables filled and a few folks sitting at the bar. I didn't think the restaurant was overly loud like some of the other previous comments mention, but I guess it is just a comparison to what you are used to and I have been to a lot of louder restaurants. To eat we shared crab cakes to start which were nicely done and had a good portion of crab to filler. Not the best i've had, but very solid for the price. The for entree I had the bone in pork chop with a cinnamon crust and honey sauce with blue cheese with garlic mashed potatoes and my wife had the stuffed halibut with twice baked potato. The meals come with a choice of soup or salad as well! Overall the food was flavorful and the portions were good sized for the price. Atmosphere wise the restaurant is casual but has a nice ambiance. It's the type of place that works for a date as well as just a dinner with friends. I'm sure we will visit again!

We came here for Easter brunch so I'm not sure how those options compare to the regular menu. Pros - Farm Fresh Eggs (Fluffy!), Prime Rib, Pancakes, Gold Yukon Potatoes. Cons - Ribs (Dry as a bone), Fiesta Eggs (must have used store bought Salsa). There were many more options but those were some of the highlights/low lights. Our server "Bryon I. or Bryoni" was very friendly and provided good service. I'm not 100% sure about the $26 pp for Brunch but would've been great if they provided a Mimosa or two as well. The bartender working that day was amazing as well! If I do come back it would be for drinks!

I feel like I need to rate this place twice: as far as Kenosha goes, this place is good. As far as food anywhere goes, this place is meh. The fries were WAY too salty, the entrees were WAY overpriced, but (other than the fries) the food was pretty good, the desert was great, and the cocktails were reasonably priced. In the future we will come here for drinks and desert, but if this place existed anywhere but Kenosha, it would be terrible.

We visited this restaurant with another couple, both of whom are chefs and the husband is in the restaurant business. We were first greeted by an unfriendly hostess who says, "Can I help you?" - we've never been greeted in that manner at a restaurant. We were then lead to a dining room in the back of the building that has customers pass through the kitchen area and almost slipped because of grease on the hallway floor. In regards to the food/menu, we ordered what we thought sounded like phenomenal dishes -stuffed halibut and almost-crusted tilapia both in a lemon beurre blanc sauce, blackened mahi mahi and gnocchi. We were disappointed to find all of our dishes overcooked, where the fish was tough in texture, the side of wild rice was mushy and looked like stuffing, and the gnocchi was overly soft also. In the background, there was also a waitress who yelled as she approached her customers, "Are we drunk enough yet?!", which was unprofessional. One of the only positive aspects was having a decent waiter. Unfortunately, it was an overall poor customer experience.

First of all- if you;re looking for a quiet dinner....do not go here. Second- if you are a standard meat and potatoes type of person, this is not the place for you. However, if you're open to trying new things and don't mind the noise, this place is OUTSTANDING! I made reservations and we were seated immediately on a Friday night at a table near the bar. Our server was amazing and I even left a note on the receipt to let him know how much we appreciated his service. To start we had the roasted red pepper hummus which was one of the many specials of the day. It was a generous portion and the flat bread it came with was still warm when our server brought it. It was delicious. As an entree I had the cheddar baked orange roughy and my husband had the asiago crusted walleye. Both were cooked perfectly and extremely tasty. To top it all off we had the red velvet bundt cake for dessert. We asked if it came with ice cream and it didn't, so we asked to have it added and it was no problem. The cake was warm and delicious and our waiter said he thought the presentation looked better with our ice cream added. Last but not least the drinks.....create your own margarita by picking your favorite tequila, several flavors of mojitos and martinis as well. My husband had a mango and a blackberry mojito and loved them both. I had a margarita with Patron and then a blueberry pomegranite martini. Well worth the money. We will definitely be back!!! One of the best meals we've had in a long time and we're still raving about it to everyone we see!

My mom and I stopped in on Saturday December 1st after a long day of shopping. She had wanted to try this place for a long time, and I'm quite an adventurous eater, so we said why not? We walked in and the place was very busy, but not overly-crowded. I had the elk medallions with bacon and bleu cheese...superb. I can't wait to go back!!!

My husband and I went here last night. I've been wanting to try this for about a year, and I'm soo glad we did. We wanted to sit at the bar and just have a relaxing dinner. We were immediately greeted with open arms by Tony and Heidi behind the bar. We began with the calamari which was lightly breaded and was good, it comes with a chili sauce which was very good. My husband thought it was a little chewy for his liking, but overall it was good. At the end of the night, Tony brought us a crab cake, which was delicious, and we get those again! We were trying to decide what to eat, and people at the bar were trying to offer suggestions. Erica, the chef then decided that she would make us a couple of things and bring them out. We were very excited about this. First Erica brought out the lamb ribs which had a peanut butter/mint taste. These were amazingly unique. The peanut butter wasn't overwhelming, and then the mint taste came in at the end. These were falling off the bone tender. Next she brought out the scallops, which was my favorite!!! The texture was the best I've ever had. The next dish she brought out was the flat iron steak. I highly recommend this. This was a toss up for first!!! Next she brought out the short ribs which were ridiculously tender and nice and had a great sweet onion taste. This was my husband's favorite. Finally Erica brought out the salted Carmel mousse, I thought I died and went to heaven. The entire staff here was so welcoming, and they took such good care of us! I think we found a new favorite place to call home!!!!! Thank you all for showing us a great time and sharing your amazing food!

Other than going to Chicago to Gibson's or Morton's, this has got to be the next best thing. Everything about our evening was great. We had Saganaki as an appetizer that was very good. I first ordered a salad but changed my mind after hearing they had a Green Pepper soup. This has to be among the best I have ever had. It was so good that I and the couple we were with actually ordered 4 extra servings to take home with us. The main entrees were also wonderful. I had a Fillet Minion with a Parmesan Garlic crust. It is not on the menu but they allowed me to order it that way. The steak was a solid 8 or 9. My friend had the bone in Rib Eye. He also raved about the quality. As a desert we shared had the fruit loop cheesecake. This had mixed reviews. Two of us thought it was great and two said they wouldn't order it again. The cheesecake was very light and not as dense as something like Eli's. The service was also great. The server was very attentive even through the time when we received our dinners and had made several other requests. She even came back to tell my wife that the they were making some cinnamon butter for her sweet potato and they were not done but it would be here in a minute. I am a VERY picky eater and almost always find fault with restaurants. The faults I found here are TOO minimal to mention. I will DEFINITELY be back. One last comment, it is a little pricey for Kenosha but well worth it!!

My husband and I drive by this place a few times a month and we would always say "We need to try that!" Well, I saw a Groupon and figured it would force us to have dinner. I made the reservation for 6:30 on a Friday night. We got there and their (very) small parking lot was full. Luckily the auto parts store across the street lets patrons of the restaurant park there. We parked across the street and made it into the restaurant right on time. The first thing I noticed was that the place was really small....which made it seem really loud. The waitress stand was in the middle of the restaurant and it was difficult to tell who was waiting to be seated and who hadn't checked in yet. There is no discernible waiting area and customers are forced to stand amongst the other diners while waiting for their table. A bit awkward if you ask me. Anyway, we were seated very quickly as we were only a table of 2. A waiter (Ben) quickly arrived to take our drink orders. Hubby ordered a beer and I had a cocktail (Sex on the Beach.) For our entrees, he ordered the parmesan crusted rib-eye with french fries and a salad. His medium steak was cooked perfectly and he devoured every bite. I ordered one of the specials; crab stuffed sole with mashed potatoes and the lobster bisque. Both entrees came with lightly sauteed zucchini. My lobster bisque was divine and the sole was even better. After each of my last three bites I'd tell myself it was my last bite but I couldn't stop eating it. The mashed potatoes were not my favorite and once the zucchini got a bit of salt, they were perfect. Ben got a little slow towards the end and we waited about 10 minutes between the dropping off of the check and him picking up our credit card. All in all, it was a great experience and we'd definitely go back again. Albeit not on the Friday after Valentine's Day. It was a bit busy and crowded for our liking.

Great, little, unexpectedly good restaurant in a small Midwest town. My MIL took us here when we were visiting, and it's now on my "must" list when we come back. They even let us use an expired restaurant.com coupon.

Really disappointing meal and poor service. This use to be one of our favorite Kenosha restaurants but the meal we had on 9/13 was mediocre at best. We started with splitting a Caesar Salad that was way over dressed. This is the only restaurant we've been to recently that when you ask to split a salad ($11.00) wasn't already plated separately. When we ordered our entrees we ordered another 2 glasses of overpriced wine at the same time and waited and waited and waited. Only after we flagged down the hostess and asked her if she could find our waitress did she show up telling us how she was waiting for our food order and completely forgot about our drinks - D'OH! My medium rare Bone-in Rib-Eye was very rare and the "special" red snapper with spicy Thai sauce was awful. The fish tasted funny and the "sauce" looked like they just squirted sriracha sauce on it. We both ordered baked sweet potato that was burnt. Ordered carrot cake to go and when I opened it at home there was about a teaspoon of frosting piped on top (dollop in the middle) - really disappointing. Another restaurant crossed off our list of places to go close to home. What's happened to this place? Hopefully the group that was there celebrating the chef's birthday had a better meal than we did. Also the waitress didn't hesitate to tell us that one of the wait staff called in sick and the back room was busy and that's why the service basically sucked. Not sure what the excuse is for the food quality as it use to be really good - at least it was reliably good on the weekends.

Great restaurant in an unexpected place (Kenosha). Some creative and unusual menu items.

I think the food was over priced. Waiter was very short w us and charged our party of TWO an automatic gratuity of 18% and did not tell us, it was just added on to the bill. I've never seen this before usually a gratuity is added on to a party of six or more. I was excited to try this place as it is unique to Kenosha but our waiter didnt offer us any suggestions or tell us about the menu and we felt very rushed. Again my biggest thing was having the 18% gratuity automatically added to our bill of two and was not told about it. I would've tipped well anyways but you as the customers should have a say in what u want to leave as a tip, and I've worked in the restaurant industry before as a server!!!

Extremely disappointing. To begin with, the atmosphere in the back of the restaurant was really lacking. However, that wouldn't really matter if the food had been good. The menu items are not well explained. The saganaki appetizer was fine. Soup and salad were good. Then, everything went downhill. I ordered the tilapia thinking it would be a nice piece of fish with a light coating on top and a little sauce. In fact, it was entirely breaded and deep-fried. I very nicely asked to replace it with the salmon, and the waitress was not very nice about it. When she brought out the salmon, which happened very quickly, it was undercooked. My boyfriend ordered the flat iron steak, which was also very undercooked. To top off a bad meal, there was a dead bug floating on the top of my boyfriend's water. We ended up paying almost $100 for all of this and now regret that we didn't say something. We have had very few negative dining experiences, but this was just really bad. Skip this place and go to Wine Knot or Sazzy B's instead.

Was looking for a new place to eat and visited yelp for new American cuisine. The food was phenomenal! Tried the Fire Grilled Chilean sea bass and Krispy Breaded Ahi Tuna and both were some of the best we have ever tried! Only negatives were the parking (only park on north side of building) which fortunately we did not have trouble with and the temperature of some of the food could have been a little warmer! Due to that, would have given 4 1/2 stars but since had to choose between 4 & 5 stars, gotta go with 5! Not a place to go every week due to price (entries between high teens to low thirties) but recommend for sure! Try them, you will not be disappointed!

Friends and I ate there earlier this week. It was a slow mid week night. There were two other tables occupied when we arrived and it stay at that level while we dined. Our server was friendly and fairly knowledgeable, though she did have to check on several of the specialty drinks. We were a party of 4 so we ordered 2 appetizers. The saganaki was an interesting take on the traditional Greek fried cheese. It was a blend of spinach dip and cheese and it was tasty. The Lobster Nachos were crisp, cheesy and hot. Lobster was only ok, not really worth the price. Marinated chicken or a grilled vegetable twist would probably been more flavorful and affordable.

Been visiting this place for a few years now, and have yet to be disappointed. The latest rave is for Erica's "Chef's Choice" meals in Friday nights. You give a price ($20,25,30) and the chef decides on your meal. The Strip with garlic mashed and grilled fresh veggies was awesome, and who came up with sweet pepper as a vessel for the mashed potatoes? Great idea. When my son-in-law can't find anything to complain about, the place is a hit.

The only reason it receives a one star is because it has to have one. I went in with my girlfriend and the customer service was horrible and it took 20 minutes to get drinks and about 45 minutes to get our food and when I finally got the Friday all you can eat fish fry I asked the waitress if she can put in an order for more fish so I wouldn't have to wait for an additional 45 minutes and she tells me they ran out. After another 40 minutes a different a bus boy came to our table and cleaned it off before we were even done. We were going to order dessert and they basically pushed us out the door after waiting for an additional 30 minutes waiting for the check. Horrible atmosphere and horrible customer service I do not recommend it one bit. I will never go there again.

While this place isn't really fancy, the food is a step up from many of the places in Kenosha. The menu is available online, and is supposed to change seasonally. I had the parmesan crusted talapia which had a very flavorful lemon based sauce. We shared the stuffed mushroom appetizer which was well done, and the tomatoes in my salad didn't seem like standard hot house dreck. I noticed three vegetarian entrees on the menu, in addition to a couple of fishes as well as quail, duck, steaks, and chicken dishes.

I was very surprised and delighted when I went to Twisted Cuisine last week. Not only does it deliver an eclectic, yet homey atmosphere but their menu selection was outstanding. From Lobster risotto to an amazing twist on soup, I can easily see myself becoming a regular.

The owners did a nice job of making the place feel like a hip Chicago bistro without going over the top. It was packed when we arrived, but the hostess was able to seat us at a pub table near the bar. The food was well presented and quite tasty. One thing that stood out for me was temperature, not too hot (or cold), just right. I do not ever recall feeling that way about soup or pasta. Our server was personable and attentive. The only downside to this restaurant is parking, or lack thereof, but for a person who typically dines in Chicago walking a block to your car might be a welcome change. If you are looking for a trendy eatery in Kenosha check out Twisted Cuisine!

Let me start by saying that this USED to be a favorite restaurant of my wife and I. We saved visits for special occasions and looked forward to going whenever we could. That all ended on our last visit..... In previous visits, the food was always pretty good (the Froot-Loop cheesecake is to die for) to excellent, but the service was always so-so. When you first walk in, the hostess station is unfortunately located in the middle of the seating area and, if you have to wait, you end up standing pretty close to people dining - awkward. For the most part, the wait-staff usually seems rather busy, so much so that they seem to forget about their customers and refilling drinks, refilling the excellent bread, giving and processing the check, etc, etc. In other words, don't visit of you are on a schedule. On our last visit, and I mean that literally, our server was evidently new and was having a bad night - particularly at my table. To make a long story short, I received the wrong entree 3 times before receiving the 4th about an hour and a half after ordering it (the chef brought it out) and about an hour after the 2 people I was eating with were finished with their meals. We did not get refills of our soft drinks until 15 minutes after that and never got the promised bread refill. To their credit, the chef initially offered me a free dessert. Soon after that, the owner finally came over and offered to essentially half the entire bill and give us all free desserts....at that point we were moderately satisfied. But that wasn't the end of the nightmare: we had to hunt down the hostess to get our bill...when the desserts came out, we weren't given the proper utensils and had to hunt down the hostess again and by the time the utensils were given to us, the ice cream parts of the dessert had all but melted....the bill was not properly credited so we had to hunt down the owner to fix it....we waited and waited for someone to come by and pick up our check and process it until the chef came by to see how we were doing and took the bill....we had a coupon that was for $10 off and inadvertently included it with our credit card (it stipulated that an 18% tip would be factored in) and instead of reminding us of that before processing it they factored it in thereby making the check go from $32 (which was fair given the circumstances) to $39 including an $11 tip for some of the worst service we've ever encountered.....when we asked to change it because we really didn't feel a tip was appropriate, we were met with more difficulties and decided to cut our losses and leave as soon as possible - over 2 hours of hell was more than enough, and we had missed 3 movie times at that point. Again, I give them credit for offering to credit out half of the bill, but when even more problems were met following that, I feel that more should have been done to satisfy us. We left in a rush and in poor spirits and decided to e-mail them to see what their response would be. All they did was offer excuses (he was new, he will be retrained, it was a busy night, we are a small business, on and on) which did nothing more to ease our unhappiness. And, further, a co-worker of mine who is acquainted with the owner asked her about it and was given the same exact excuses. The fact is that, in the end, if I were the owner and one of my customers experienced such a horrible evening (it was a comedy of errors at first that soon became an excruciatingly frustrating nightmare), that customer would have been comped the entire meal and given a discount on a second visit if only to try and give them a nice experience and redeem myself in their eyes. I was given excuses and a half-hearted invitation to come back. Had every other visit before the last one been extraordinary, we would have given serious thought to giving them another try - but poor service seems to be their standard and for that, we shall never return. However, I would suggest trying it to see if you like the menu which is usually innovative and interesting, but do not expect anything special in the service department.....just god-awful.

I was at Twisted for lunch recently and ordered my favorite - the Fried Raviolis. I was taken back when the dish arrived, not with the usual shredded parmesan chesse on top, but with a big clump of mozzarella cheese shreds like you'd get in a bag at the grocery storel. Not acceptable. They didn't serve any bread/rolls with our meals. I hope Twisted will return to it's former excellence.

After the spate of recent negative reviews, I felt I needed to make a trip back here and find out for myself if there had been such a decline. My experience was generallly positive. I had lunch here yesterday (Thursday) with my BF. Surprisingly, their small parking lot was full (as it always is in the evening) and we had to park a block or so away. We walked in and were able to get a table right away, luckily. The place was busy but not crowded. The service was good this time. The waitress refilled our drinks without being asked. My BF had the fried cheese raviolis. They were delicious and rich as ever. I ordered the "Jamaican Fillet" which was good but not execellent. The marinde added a very mild sweet flavor. But it was more of a sirloin than a fillet, and on the pricey side. They did not serve or offer us bread with our salads. We also indulged in dessert: 2 slices of Chaos Pie. Very good. Overall we enjoyed the meal and continue to appreciate the creativity of the menu items and freshness of the food. The only negative being that for the quantity of the food, it's on the expensive side.

I live in LA, but Mom lives in Kenosha. This is some seriously great food here. We are always so happy to see that it's open when we come into town. Not to be disparaging, but the fantastic-food options for dinner in Kenosha are slightly more limited than a bigger city. However, TC delivers on all fronts. The food is always so...fresh tasting and extremely unique in its presentation, preparation and delivery. The service is always spot-on and it's just got a great vibe. This last trip, we ordered an app of asparagus wrapped in phyllo with brie and prosciutto baked in. Wonderful. I had horseradish encrusted salmon, which was perfect. Mom had what looked like squid ink fettuccine in a really light white wine and garlic sauce with crimini mushrooms. That was the hit of the night, I feel. Our other friend had chicken stuffed with bleu cheese and bacon with mashed on the side. A heart attack on a plate, maybe, but man was that good as well. I guess their specialty is Captain Crunch encrusted chicken - I've not had it, but every time I go there, I'm never disappointed. Highly recommend! Oh yeah, and Mom said their Mom's Day brunch was killer.

Last night my wife wanted a "big, honkin' burger" and I'm on a 'good food' New Year's resolution. Twisted Cuisine delivered for both of us. The burger, ordered medium rare, indeed, was nicely pink, hot and "honkin'" big. I was finicky; blackened Mahi Mahi without the blackened, sauteed in very little butter. The fish was wonderful - served very hot and just the special way I wanted it. My baked sweet potato was also piping hot with some whipped butter on the side that had a hint of honey with a little taste of maple. Only needed a tiny bit to add flavor to the potato. For wine, my wife had a nice Cab and I had a hearty Sangiovese. Both nice and a generous pour. A waiter who was just enough attentive and a nice chat with the owner. TC isn't going to have Michelin stars but it is what it is....a nice small town inn with a culinary school trained chef and a friendly staff serving tasty food from an interesting menu at very reasonable prices.
