First of all I have never sent food back to the kitchen until this place!! Not good. service was slow and it took forever to get our food, I asked if this was normal and the waitress said no. It was WAY over priced for the quality of the food. I wished we went somewhere else, NEVER again!!! The decor was very nice and upscale, this was the only nice thing I can say.

This is the best new restaurant we have found in ages. The food is outstanding. The service is terrific, but the place is getting so popular it can be hard to get a table. A++

Went there on a Thursday night and the main dining room was not busy. I did notice they were having an event for Snap On but there were enough waiters as far as I could see. We were seated by the waitress and waited 15 minutes before we were acknowledged. Mind you the same waiter tended to the surrounding tables around us. Then Sammy G finally comes to our table and insults us by saying he didn't see us. It was clear that he was eating because he was making those noises an old person makes when they are clearing their mouth. That was so gross that my wife and I just walked out. This was worst experience ever... I can't say anything about the food and I never will. It seems that the wait staff is less than professional.

Been back twice since our initial dinner including last night and had a better experience. Out of 5 stars, would rate it 3.5. Service has always been good. Menu is just ok - nothing stands out. I had a veal plate and wife had a seafood pasta. Wine list is just OK - got the Chianti Classico Reserva. Found out you can bring wine in for $15 cork fee.

Fantastic Italian fix in Kenosha, WI. Their Penne carbonara is delicious. If you like seafood, try any dish they make...especially the Linguine Pescatore. My wife had her baby shower there for our daughter and the service and food was unbelievable. If you're looking for an alternate for a glass of wine, definitely have the house sangria...can't even describe how good it is! Hope these guys stick around for a while.

The food is really good, and it's a nice place for a sit down meal, but I don't understand why they would charge extra for carryout. I paid for the food, but didn't use any of the restaurant's resources, so they actually came out ahead. Lose two stars for a cheap trick, which isn't even mentioned on the website.

So my girlfriend and I dinned there yesterday for my birthday. I didn't know what to expect because it looked kind of like a run down place from the outside. As soon as we walked in everything was clean and set up and we were greeted immediately. It was a very intimate setting with a fireplace, candles and soft lighting. We were seated by the fireplace which was awesome!! Our server Ben came out and introduced us to the specials and took our drink orders. We ordered calamari for appetizer. I have had calamari millions of times but this was the best I've ever eaten! It was delicious and fresh! They then served bread and salad. The salad tasted fresh with a good amount of dressing added to it. The bread was kind of hard but their oil dipping sauce was fantastic!! They give you only 3 pieces of bread and will charge you $1.50 for more. We ordered the chicken parmegan and the penne carbonara. It was well cooked. The chicken wasn't dry at all the past was cooked just perfectly. I did get a birthday tiramisu cake. Unfortunately, the cake wasn't complementary so we had to pay. Kinda a bummer. Overall, we had a good experience here and recommend it. Try to get Ben as your server. He was very professional.

We've gone here a couple times and both dinners were tasty, but not amazing. We will continue to go back because it's still the best option for Italian in Kenosha. We hope it gets better with time. Really, the biggest impact on the rating is the service: the server seemed a bit distracted and less interested in providing a warm welcome & good first impression. The waitress was a bit short, though not rude per se.

Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed this place . The food was delicious, with a great variety on the menu. My only issues are that the bread basket was toasted and I prefer the bread not to be toasted. Also the dessert menu was not impressive to me. I really am a dessert person though so I always give 3 stars if a place is not up on their dessert game. The ambience is beautiful and just a little too east to hear other tables around you but I was so busy enjoying my meal and having a great time it was not that big of a deal. If the had a more impressive dessert menu it would have been a 5 star experience!

We love this place. Husband and I come often and we have also had large groups here with great success. Waitstaff makes excellent suggestions and are very friendly and professional. Sometimes you can find local coupons for a free app with meal purchase.

My wife and I went with a party of about 10 people. My wife needs a gluten free menu and the server was so rude...said that they didn't have anything that she could eat, and that she should "go somewhere else." We did...the party of 10 left

If you like good food, good ambience and have 'all the time in the world' this is a great place! I would call this an Ok place, in the 'not bad' category. I went their for a business dinner on a week day. I had called in for reservations. It was done well, but was bit crowded for a weekday dinner. The food was great, the service was very slow. The server wasn't handling too many tables, but he was s l o w !! Took long time to get the wine order, when he took the dinner orders, he came back and asked again as he forgot (not a good sign). When more than 60% of the tables were empty, we had to wait too long to get the desserts. I had to actually get up and tell the front desk to send him, he took longer to get the check. My party had left by the time got the check, and I kept waiting for the check. Then there was no one to server me water for another few minutes. I do have to host another 10 people in this area, but I am not sure if I would choose this less-efficient place.

By far the best chicken parmigiana ever! We were a party of 6 and everyone was extraordinarily happy with the food. The staff were super accommodating and friendly. Our server, KatiLynn, was especially wonderful. Even though it's a 40 minute drive we will be coming back often!!

We had a phenomenal experience here. Our waiter, sammy g. Was incredible. My boyfriend and I both ordered pasta dishes. Warm bread and seasoned olive oil was delivered to our table first followed by a sald. Both delicious. Then our pasta and it was beyond expectation. This was our first visit but it definitely will not be our last.

The food is fantastic. My fiance and I stopped in for a bite to eat on our way to a concert in Milwaukee. We Sat at the bar tops and Andrea took great care of us. She was very knowledgeable about the wine and. Picked out a fabulous deep red wine that complimented my meal exquisitely. she was so energetic and happy. It was our first time dining. And we will definitely be back

Excellent variety of very tasty Italian food. Wonderful service. Can be a little difficult to hear your lunch or dinner date but overall it's a nice, small establishment. Reservations highly recommended.

Excellent - it took some work to convince Mom, who lives nearby, to abandon her fave Olive Garden. But this blew us both away. She had blackened salmon and I had seafood risotto. Both were excellent. Great server too, very kind to (elderly) Mom. Will definitely be back!

Had dinner last night with an out of town guest for business and everything was good! Really enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant ... dim lighting and it's not too loud which allows you to have a conversation and enjoy a meal. Food was delicious! Tuscany's menu gives you plenty of Italian dishes to choose from. They also have specials so be sure to ask the server about those.

A nice change from southern Italian food. Lots of seafood! My fav. Went with a party of 16. Everyone ordered something diff. Entree came with small salad with house dressing. Tasty but small. Everyone liked their entree a lot. I had risotto pescetore. Nice quality on all the seafoods. Served nice and hot. Servers were all good. Friendly, not too so; efficient? Half the people could not finish their portions. They served a birthday cake and sang. We sat at the tables long after finishing without being rushed out.

This place was awesome, I had a seafood pasta, the best connoli ever and a Long Island ice tea. Everything was just great. Awesome music, food and the service, the triple trifecta. If you ever in the area come by here for an awesome time and fair prices.

I've been here twice now when visiting Pleasant Prairie, and have had good experiences both times! It's the best place I've been to in PP, when visiting from Chicago. Usually I'm in town for an early morning race, and am looking for a meal that won't make my stomach hurt & also has some carbs in it. The first time I visited on a Friday evening and it was hopping! Our server was great and they were quick to accommodate us when we increased our group from 4 to 6 when we showed up. The second time we arrived for an early dinner, but it was filling up pretty well by the time we left. Service has been excellent both times, with our salads and meals coming out very promptly. I've had pasta dishes both times, the first with a shrimp & tomato sauce which is more my go-to type of pasta dish. The second time I took a chance with an olive oil-based pasta sauce and was impressed that it was not too greasy! They had a great mix of the vegetables and meat, no left over oil at the bottom. I'll definitely be making a reservation for dinner here every time I'm back in the PP area!

We tried this place because my son said he loved their pizza. I had linguine and my wife chicken Parmesan. Both were superior and the bread and seasoned oil appetizer was the best I've had. Highly recommend this restaurant! Went again today, same great food!

Tuscany Bistro There are a lot of chains around Kenosha but there are a few non chain options too. I'm thinking that Kenosha is not necessarily a food mecca but they do have generous portions at a reasonable price. Tuscan Bistro provides large slabs of meat for a good price. The flavor is decent but not great but the atmosphere is better than the flair filled sit down joints all over the place where you can barely hear the people at your table. Service was decent but this is a locally owned and dressed up version of Olive Garden/Stuart Anderson. I had a 16 oz prime rib for $20 dollars. The pasta (carbonara) looked good and those that ordered it did enjoy it.

Went here for a work Christmas dinner and was not impressed. I'm not a big pasta eater so I got the filet. I ordered it medium and it was severely over cooked and very dry. They tried to moisten it up with some type of sauce, but that didn't taste very well and did nothing for the filet. Reviews from co workers I heard regarding the pasta were that it was just so-so and not the greatest. I won't be going here again. Parking is also very limited as it is part of a strip mall.

We discovered this place last fall and fell in love. I was looking forward to dinner all week and last night did not disappoint! Pork shank and a nice filet! Crossing our fingers for surf n turf the next time we are back!!

Friendly staff, reasonable prices, good tempo for the meal. I had the pasta carbonara mmmm very good, creamy! I enjoyed the decor it's intimate and classic with hard wood floors, candlelight. I would say take your girl out for a date night here!

Have been here twice now - with the last time being last night.... Both situations were the same where we had a business dinner to do and frantically were looking for someplace in Kenosha that was decent..... and still open after 8pm.... This place delivered on both occasions.... No, it's not the best food Italian food I've ever had (not even close) - and I am pretty picky after having living in Italy for 5 -1/2 years - but the they did a good job on the "basics" and the service was great. Waiters were especially friendly and they were very accommodating in making menu substitutions to handle the specific needs of our group.... Honestly, I haven't found a better place in Kenosha (but, unfortunately, that's not saying a lot...)

I've only eaten here right before they opened to the public. We were invited by an employee for Friends and Family night where everything was 50%. The food was amazing. The selection was wonderful and the ambiance was relaxing.

We stopped in for dinner after the outlet mall. I was dressed fairly casual on a Saturday and I noticed on the sign outside it has the words 'bistro' and 'bar and grill' so I thought I was OK but truth be told I felt a little under dressed so definitely more on the bistro side. We were seated immediately, my wife opted for the dining room (I prefer the bar area). It was a Saturday night, the place was not packed, but it was doing a fair amount of business. The atmosphere was welcoming and the lighting appropriate. Our server was very amicable and attentive. We ordered the mussels to start. They brought out a basket of bread and dipping oil in the interim. I do not know what they put in their dipping oil but it is some of the best I have had, so much so that I ordered another round. I even used some as a base on my plate under the meal. The mussels were good and we kept that broth too to use with our meal. For drinks, I ordered a Sams Octoberfest and was surprised when we received the bill to see that they charged a mere $3.50 for it. For an entree, we decided to split the tilapia meal, it was wonderful and very tasty. Since we split a meal our total bill was very reasonable and the low amount of tax was a welcome relief from Cook county. I noticed a couple that I suspected were the owners having their meal as well not too far from where we were sitting. I chatted with them on the way out and learned that the fish is flown in fresh from Florida everyday, apparently they have several restaurants, at least one of which is in Florida. Very nice people, I let them know that we really enjoyed our meal and would be back.

Two of us split ciappino which was outstanding. I had the Linguini Gamberri the best I've ever had. Two of us had linguini and meatballs and again the meal was outstanding The wine list is very good and improving with the addition of they're own semollier(sic). On of the best Cabs I've had with the bottle of Artemis 2011.

  • Christy G.

Although our waiter seemed new and didnt know much about the menu, the food more than made up for it. I had the rack of lamb and my husband had the rigatoni pasta with meatballs. We also had bruchetta, which was excellent!

Italian seems to be what Kenosha does well and this is another example of good Italian food in Kenosha. My wife and I went for our first time last night after noticing that there are often a number of cars out front. The service was good and the food was solid as well. I had a mixed cacciatore with chicken, meatball, and sausage and my wife had a seafood linguine with shrimp, clams, mussels, and fish. Didn't have any wine or dessert but the offerings of both looked good. The entree also came with a house salad to start. The primary drawbacks IMO and why I didn't give it 4 stars are that they have fresh Parmesan to top off the dishes (or at least we weren't offered it) and that the location in the strip center doesn't really offer much atmosphere at least compared to some of the other Italian spots in Kenosha. Overall though very solid, a convenient location by I-94, and good food. I'm sure we will be back.

we ordered the supremo pizza with sliced fresh Italian sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, olives, and red onion with the best tomato sauce I've ever had! It had a lot of garlic in the sauce but I love garlic! The crust was very authentic; reminded me of the pizza we had in Italy. The décor is very nice and it was very busy when we picked up the pizza. Overall I would love to come in for dinner and try out the other food. Awesome!

We went there on a Friday night between 6:30 and 7, and got seated right away. The service was fast and friendly ( Tammi was our server). The food came out quickly and was great. Not sure why all the negative comments, this is not a fast food place, and is worth the price. We had the Fettuccine Toscana and an Ortolana pizza. Both were good. The only , slight negative was that I was under the impression that the pizza would be very thin crust, while it was a regular crust. Oh well, but it tasted great. The only negative was the music was a bit loud, not awful, but a bit loud.

1st contact with the restaurant with our party of 4 on a Friday night. The place was packed. 25 minute wait and we'll worth it. Tried the mussels, escargot and calamari as appetizers ... All very good. Our party Moved on to the lasagne, pizza, chicken parmigiana and ... the roasted red snapper . While the pizza had an array of fresh vegetables, sausage and a terrific sauce, the crust came across as pre-made and lacked any crispness that could have brought the pizza to over-the-top deliciousness. The rest of the main courses were nicely presented, well seasoned and delicious. But, the roasted whole red snapper was incredible!!! I chatted with Pete, the general partner, about the excellent quality of the red snapper and learned that his fish and shrimp are caught in Florida by a business partner and then flown up to Chicago, on ice. The best red snapper in WI and beyond, without a doubt! Pete rushed off to the kitchen and brought back a freshly prepared shrimp for me to sample ... Outstanding flavor and perfectly cooked. I am really impressed with our first experience with the Tuscany Bistro, and have decided to return on Sunday for dinner with a party of 6. 09-23-2013: Have been back more times than I can count and this restaurant is still spot-on! 05-01-2015: Pete is gone and the quality has noticeably slipped. Overcooked vegetables, gnocchi presented with a sauce that reminds of Chef Boyardee in a can. Apps are still spot on but the restaurant has lost a bit of its earlier appeal.

My wife and I ate here with eight other adults to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday evening in late December. We had reservations and arrived early to have a cocktail in the bar area. The bar was busy but we received good service. The restaurant's wine pours are very generous. Our table was ready on time. Entrees come with a salad and bread basket - both very good. Our table ordered a wide variety of entrees - Salmon, Tilapia, Lamb Chops, Chicken Marsala and a variety of pasta dishes - including some with generous portions of seafood. All of us loved our entrees. The service throughout the meal was excellent. We all said we will definitely return. One caveat - this place was busy and there were waits for those lacking reservations.

Great food with competitor prices. Not a quick place so if you are limited on time you might want to go elsewhere. The desserts are imported and delicious. Service was impeccable. My only compliant is the cooks staring from the kitchen.

When in Kenosha on business, we visit here. Classy interior. Service is ok. I've only been here on a week night and we've never had to wait for a table or dinner. Menu is a little "old school." I enjoyed the Cappellini Toscana and the Mixed Cacciatore, but I'd like to see fewer pasta dishes and a little more variety. My friend recommends the Talapia Veneziana.

One of the better Italian meals we have had in quite some time. Our party tried several different dishes, all of which were top notch. Service (Sam) was also very good as well. This just made our short list of places to go for dinner.

Girlfriend and I stopped in the other night. Heard many reviews so we decided to try it ourselves. No wait was nice. Felt rushed by our server, Tammi. Salad was mediocre. Looked like it was thrown together especially with the dressing just in the middle. Food wasn't much better. Had the rigatoni ciacora. Lacked flavor, portion was small. Girlfriend had the lasagna. Wasn't much better. No flavor. Was never given the specials. Was over $40 for the two of us. Not sure if we will give it another chance.

Went to Tuscany on Sat 4/11 at 6pm, for dinner with my mother and sister. We were told that since we did not have reservations there would be a 15 minute wait. We went to a table in the bar area to order drinks. They brought my mother a vodka tonic and told us the martinis would have to wait because they didn't have glasses. After 20 min we got our drinks. Checked on our reservation and told not quite yet. Checked a couple more times and finally got seated at 8pm. Ordered an appitzer and had a salad. At 9pm we still did not have our dinner so we decided to leave. Of course the manager said we did not owe them anything which was nice but besides the point. There is no excuse for such bad service. 15 minutes should not have turned into three hours. No one is in the least bit excited to visit this restaurant any time soon.

I asked my waiter what "porcini" was and he told me it was like "prosciutto" and they are COMPLETELY different things. If you don't know the answer to something, don't just make it up. I'm definitely never dining there again. Not just because I got mushrooms instead of bacon, but also because the food was not that great and the prices were unreasonably high. The atmosphere is good and the service was professional and polite but not very warm or friendly. I would have gotten a much better value and a more pleasant dining experience at Olive Garden for sure. I dined with 4 other adults and nobody was that impressed with their food and nothing on the menu costed less than $15 unless it was an appetizer or side. The menu is basically entirely made up of pasta and pizza with maybe 2 dishes that are just meat/fish and they costed around $30. They left a bad first impression on me and I will not be dining there again.

I always use Yelp but never post reviews. My wife and I just left this place and we felt inclined to post. Simply put, we stopped in and were told 30 minute wait (we had no reservations). After 90 minutes during which we checked back in twice with the hostess, we ordered food at the bar. When other employees are asking "you're still here", you know it's evident that something was wrong. No entree could cover up the experience of the prior 90 minutes of inconsiderate service (all out ignorance). I almost feel ashamed of ourselves that we stayed. So much so that I picked up fast food on the way home to ensure the experience was fully behind me.

I was there for the first time last night. Loved the decor, the bar is just the right size to feel cozy, and the food was absolutely excellent. I had the eggplant parm; the sauce was perfect--not too sweet or bitter. The salad was fresh and crispy. I definitely will be back to try other dishes.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
