I thought I was actually being nice when I gave three stars and noted the need for a beer that has some hops. Evidently their one review buddy from Kansas thinks otherwise. I could have mentioned all the beers had the dreaded amateurish taste of "amber ale", all had a metalic taste to them. I also failed to mention that while talking to the bartender he had a pizza delivered then renewed his conversation with us between bites. I felt at the time they were just getting started but I guess this was what they are going after. My mistake.

This place is a great place to relax and have really good beer brewed in house. As one reviewer said, the staff make a point to talk to everyone and make everyone comfortable. Don't be fooled: this is not a bar. It's a taproom. Limited hours means come in, enjoy yourself, relax, but there isn't going to be a big raucous drunk crowd. Another reviewer mentioned that they need an ipa. Personally, I don't care for an ipa, and the idea that not having one invalidates a microbrew is just silly. IPAs are undoubtedly the most popular style of beer right now among those willing to branch out and try something new, but not too far out. The fact that a place can carry on without an ipa says a lot when that's what everyone is looking for. This is a great place to stop on the way home from work or after dinner before the bars. Enjoy!

We stopped by this Public Craft on our way to a camp site in WI and we loved it. We enjoyed the DIPA "Hop in the Sack" which was tasty. The interior is simple and has a tasting room feel. You could tell that the place was super clean right down to the glassware. It's BYOF or you can order delivery to the bar. Overall great place. Good people, good beer.

This is the most down to earth brewery I have visited. We visited on a Friday, beagle in tow, just as they were unlocking the door. This brewery is completely dog-friendly. The guy behind the bar gave our furry buddy tons of attention! There was also a bowl of water in the corner so he could join the party. We left around 5:00 p.m., and by that time there were a few people sitting at the bar. I tried two of their beers. I didn't like the Inkwell Black IPA, but the Public Pale Ale was really good. Beers are $4 for a pint, but a quick taste is free. Public Craft Brewing is a no-frills place, but there's a cozy corner with two easy chairs along with a bookcase stocked with top notch authors like Charles Bukowski, John Steinbeck, and Hunter S. Thompson. There were also a few board games. From my first impressions of Kenosha, there isn't much going on, so there's no reason you can't make room in your schedule for a visit to Public Craft Brewing.

Cool place, good beer. I've only tried 2 different beers, but plan on trying alot more. I usually just get a growler refill & don't drink there, but I might check it out sometime. Very inviting place. Seems like it'd be a good place to kick back and shoot the breeze with some friends. Very chill, low key vibe. Doesn't feel like your typical bar.

A friendly little craft brewery in Kenosha. We were the only people in the place on a Tuesday evening and enjoyed a flight of all the beers they currently had on tap. $15 for 8 - 4oz pours was a very reasonable price. They make some great beer and a nice house made root beer that was a nice finish to a wonderful flight. The pretzels and bar cheese was a nice compliant to the flight for only a couple bucks. This is a fun and inviting place with a very friendly staff.

This was a real cool place, oh and they have good beer too. The owner/head brewer was in during my visit. He told me all about his beers and how he started up his dream. He might have been one of the nicest guys I've met. Definitely recommend making the trip to visit this place. They also have a beautiful shuffle board, library, and cool people hanging out to chat with. Don't be shy to bring in food or order food from a nearby place. The owner just wants people to enjoy his beer and have a good time.

I love, love, love this place. The beers are fantastic, my personal favorites are the wit and the stout. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly. Plus, they'll let you order/bring in food if you're hungry! Lastly, they're dog friendly! I can't recommend enough!

When I need to get out of the city, I drive to Kenosha where people are kind and the streets are far from crowded. Today I headed here right when the tap room opened-alone, book in hand-ordered a flight and read for two hours. The bartender was super friendly, the atmosphere was chill and it had a wonderful community feel to it. I was given the most balanced attention and space imaginable from the bartender for a patron devouring a flight of 8 beers and reading a book mid day. I tend to like super hoppy beer....and there aren't any super hoppy beers here....but I finished every drop of each of my 8 pours and was highly pleased. My favorite was Inkwell, the black IPA.

Stopped in on a whim. Love to support local business and especially craft breweries. This place is a gem. Cool atmosphere, the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I even liked the darker beers here. We'll be making this a regular stop!

My boyfriend and I have visited this brewery twice on our visits up to Kenosha from Chicago. The beer is delicious and the atmosphere is so laid back. The owners are so awesome and personable. They also allow dogs!!! That is a huge plus, especially for a pup mom like myself. We will continue to visit when we have the opportunity.

Was here on a Saturday. Had two different pales, one solid and one just okay. Nice clean place, friendly bartender. Ordered pizza delivered here without a problem. Good array of books, games to play, places to sit.

What a great little storefront in downtown Kenosha. I only found out about Public Craft via my Wisconsin Beer Book, where a signature on the back page got me a free pint. Super friendly bartenders and a very comfortable atmosphere. We started out sitting at the bar and then navigated to the overstuffed chairs and played Trivial Pursuit for an hour or so. It was like drinking in our living room! Great beer, great people, check it out!

Very relaxed and comfortable brewery to enjoy some locally brewed beer in Kenosha. I love that I can walk in order my Wit, grab a beer advocate magazine and listen to some records being played.

Who knew there were so many little craft breweries in Kenosha?!?! Am I the last to know about this? Public is a nice little place downtown Kenosha, a really cool workbench vibe going. They have shuffleboard and a reading nook with books and board games. Relaxed atmosphere. They're proud of what they do and it shows in a very non-pretentious way. They also do growlers (As most small craft breweries do these days). Don't over look it if you're even in downtown Kenosha.

Public Craft Brewing is located in downtown Kenosha, which over the last few years has been a ghost town for the most part. This storefront used to house a beer & wine shop years ago, Sommelier. What's nice about this location is that it's near the other brewery in town, Rustic Road, and the Swedish bakery next door to it, Linnea. Inside it's very cool and relaxed, almost like a coffee house 10-15 years ago. On a Sunday afternoon, there was a crowd of a dozen or so, a couple dogs in tow, and quiet music playing. The space goes back a good ways, with plenty of seating and the 4BBL brewing system in the rear. Behind the bar is an exposed brick wall, with the Public logo painted towards the front. The opposite wall is a deep brick red color, with numerous artworks by local artists. There were a few patio tables out front, and some upholstered chairs in the front windows around a low round table, flanked by bookshelves. Also behind the bar was an extensive record collection and a working turntable. Will have to bring some vinyl next time. There were 8 house drafts with a good variety, seasonals included a black IPA and session IPA. The rest were somewhat standard brewpub beers, with a dry stout and ESB both on nitro. Quality was good, though somewhat typical. Variety was better than Rustic Road down the street. Looking forward to more of their beers as they find a niche. Aside from beer they offer the ultimate bar snack, Landjaeger sausages from Ruef's Market in New Glarus. Service was great, the bartender was friendly and chatty, able to answer beer questions and provided a great experience overall. Public Craft is a really comfortable place, and i'll be making it a point to stop in whenever i'm in Kenosha.

Love coming here to have a beer, it is so laid back. Overall, a cool chill spot to stop in when in the downtown Kenosha. You can see the tanks and beer room, which I'm sure you can ask all the questions you have about brewing beers {sorry 4 encouraging it swanky mustache brewer dood!!} And yes you WILL have a conversation with the brewer and or his wife, whom are pretty darn cool, and there to serve you. They have a couch, some cushion seats, books, cafeteria type seats w/ tables, and barstools. Extremely spacious. Usually 4 beers on tap, you can bring your own food or order in, take a growler home! Finally the beer is GOOD like the Pale Ale, which isn't very bitter--- hooray!!!!

Super laid back atmosphere, dog friendly. Tons of old vinyl played on request. K-Town Brown and Bone Dry Stout are great. Stop in and have a pint.

One of two microbreweries that opened in our downtown during the past year, Public Craft is so homey and relaxed that I'd come here even if they didn't have great beer! (But believe me, they do!) My personal favorite is the Perception Porter, but their Oatmeal Stout was pretty good, too. Very friendly owner and staff...they get to know you and make a point of talking to each customer. Reminds me of a contemporary little Irish pub. Love it.
