I am not a fan of chain restaurants as a general rule, but this Perkings continually surprises me. First it is really clean and bright. Second the entrees are large enough without being overwhelming. Third, prices are right. Last night I had a shrimp and pasta dish, it was great. not tons of pasta with a tiny bit on top, just the right amount of pasta and plenty of shrimp. The shrimp were large enough for a sauce and really plump and fresh tasting. I was surprised! I cant relate to comments of others, I never order soup in a chain restaurant or pot roast. My experiences have always been good at this CHAIN restaurant

This is the second Perkins I ate at. This is the second time at a Perkins - this time for breakfast. When we arrived, the parking lot was empty ... maybe a customer or two, that's all. We were relatively early though. We got seated and got our orders in quickly. A little while late, the pancakes and sausage made it to our table. I ordered the 5-buttermilk cakes and my wife got the short stack of 3 pancakes. 5 was a bit much, but I had to eat it all since it was pretty good. The waitress at first brought out a rack of 3 syrups, maple, blueberry and apricot. She then brought out another maple syrup since she thought we would want warmer syrup. That was nice of her. Overall the food was good, the place clean and the service friendly. In fact our waitress remembered my wife who was at the restaurant 2 months earlier. On the other hand, friendly gets tiring when you want a coffee refill ant the only waitress is chitchatting with another table on the other side of the restaurant. We got tired of waiting for that last cup. The restaurant opened at 6:00, I believe, and we got there about 6:30. Paying the bill with my credit card afterwards, the cashier made a minor error in ringing up the bill. She incorrectly added the tip to the bill. She was trying to "get ahead" and entered an incorrect tip as I was signing the charge slip. The cashier couldn't correct the error at the register and assured me that the correct tip would get processed later when the manager got to the store. I guess cashiers are not trusted to do everything at the register. I asked that the manager would give me a call when the "computer" got corrected. I never got that call ... assuming that the manager even was told by the cashier that I should receive a call. So far ... the pending balance on the CC is correct. It's likely that we would return if in the area.

It's convenient to the interstate highway (I-94). And the food is adequate. It's busy, boring, and bland. The pancakes would probably be good if they came to the table warm. The omelets are decent. Coffee by the pot is provided, which is good. This is simply a reasonable breakfast alternative on the highway between Chicago and Milwaukee.

I'm a realist. I know that no dining experience from Perkins is going to be featured in "Food & Wine" magazine, but I still expect at least Denny's caliber food. I'm afraid this Perkins fell short of that target. First off, the tomato basil soup looked like something that either goes into or comes out of a baby. The color and taste were both remarkably close to baby food, which I guess is better than the other thing it looked like. My "Greek" salad (quotation marks intentional) was virtually indistinguishable from my son's side salad. Apparently, substituting Italian dressing for ranch and feta for cheddar is what makes a salad "Greek". My tuna melt was unusual -- and I don't mean that in a good way. Though the bread was grilled, the tuna salad inside was cold -- like right out of the refrigerator cold. My mama didn't raise a fool, so I know better than sending something back to the kitchen at a restaurant like this. As I looked out the window at the White Castle next door, I realized that it could be worse...

My favorite breakfast place. Always busy so be prepared to wait. Staff is friendly and food is delicious

Not impressed at all. I ordered the pot roast and the portion just didnt seem worth the $10. There was no gravy on it. The waitress was ok but I didnt like that she brought us the bill without even asking if we were finished...we wanted to try the pie! The food was nothing special. Wouldnt go back.

We went here for my brother in law's birthday. Atmosphere was okay. Food was short of adequate. The waitress that we had was okay but took very long to take out order. You would think that a full table of 6 people will get there food or at least would get there order taking a little bit faster. No refills on the breakfast drinks ie: apple, orange juices, things of that nature. The food itself was not put together very well meaning that the eggs were flat for the omelets and the items put into it were under cooked. We will not be coming back here again. If we have to go to any place for breakfast we would rather go to IHOP.

I totally love this place! Friendly service and also yummy foods! The foods came out fast too! We were kinda surprised with the bill--we did eat a lot but the bill was so cheap. I wanna go back there again!

I have ordered plenty of take out here and the best thing they have going is Tammy. The food is great, but she is a asset to the business in that she remembers you and goes above and beyond to make sure your order is right. I forgot something I usually order every time I go in and she was quick to remind me. The food is wonderful yet affordable. Calling in an order usually takes them about 15 minutes to have it ready. If you get nothing else try the vanilla ice cream because it is light and creamy.
